Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic is best choice for travelers on a budget. This popular holiday destination offers much more than stunning beaches and value-for-money resorts. Rich in history and culture, the region also boasts one of the most diverse ecosystems in the Caribbean, with steamy jungles, deserts, mangroves, coral reefs, savannas and towering green peaks.

Head to the tourist areas of Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, La Romana and Samana, where all-inclusive resorts are clustered along idyllic streets lined with palm-lined beaches, and you'll discover a world of adventure. You can climb the most high peaks in the Caribbean, raft the white waters of the Rio Yac del Norte, hike to waterfalls through tropical jungles and bike through pine forests and alpine trails. Cultural attractions are also a highlight of the Dominican Republic. The capital, Santo Domingo, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with charming colonial architecture and a fascinating history. But if you just want to treat yourself to a beautiful beach, diving, swimming, surfing and sunbathing, you will also find plenty of opportunities for that.
