What do you need to know about holidays in Bulgaria with children in 2019? Which resorts and beaches are best for children? Which hotel to choose for a family holiday? A selection of the best all-inclusive hotels and reviews from tourists.

Family holidays in Bulgaria are in high demand among Russian tourists. This popularity is easily explained by the presence of good infrastructure, beaches suitable for children, a mild climate that does not require acclimatization, and affordable prices. An important factor is a short flight, because traveling to Bulgaria will not be tiring even for the smallest children.

Features of holidays in Bulgaria with children

In Bulgaria, the vast majority of vacationers are couples with children and pensioners. The hotel base is represented by hotels of different price categories; recently, apartments with the possibility of self-cooking have been very popular. Although, as tourists note, there are no problems. In hotels, the food is simple, a standard buffet, but many cafes have a children's menu, and in addition, the country has a lot of fresh fruits and vegetables in the summer.

Most resorts in Bulgaria are small towns that are ready to offer a lot of entertainment for children: playgrounds, water parks and amusement parks, children's cafes and discos. A huge plus is the absence of a language barrier. Many people speak and understand Russian, and the meaning of some words in the Bulgarian language is intuitively clear to every Slav.

Rent a car- this is the best way to travel! - reliable and convenient car rental service in Bulgaria. Choose a car to suit your taste and budget - there is a wide choice. The cost of renting a car is from 8 euros per day. Do you have any questions? The Russian-speaking support service will help you with everything.

When is the best time to go?

The climate of Bulgaria is reminiscent - just as dry and warm, with refreshing sea breezes. Children of primary school age usually go on holiday to Bulgaria in late June or early September, when there are fewer tourists, lower prices and not so hot. The air temperature at this time is +27°С, sea water temperature is +23°С. By mid-summer it gets hotter and the water warms up to +25°C. In August, jellyfish and algae appear in the sea.

The best resorts and beaches for families with children

The question of where is the best place to vacation in Bulgaria with children is difficult to answer unequivocally. We list the best resorts and beaches that, according to tourists, are most suitable for family holidays.

Wide sandy beaches of the resort Golden Sands stretched along the green protected area. This resort is considered expensive and very popular among young people, as there are many entertainment facilities. It is also suitable for relaxing with teenagers: there are water slides and amusement parks everywhere, and discos are noisy in the evenings.

Another popular resort in Bulgaria with sandy beaches, which is perfect for holidays with children in 2019 - Sunny Beach. The resort is located in a bay, and the water off its shores warms up already in early summer. There are more than a hundred hotels on the territory of Sunny Beach; you can find good options for staying in 2* or 3* hotels, most importantly, not in the center of the resort, because this place has long been firmly occupied by cheerful students. Near the resort is the town of Nessebar, where you can see ancient architecture.

Not far from Sunny Beach there is another seaside resort - Saint Vlas. This is a quiet place with a large range of budget accommodation in apartments. There is a beautiful promenade, good beaches and even its own yacht club. The most equipped and well-maintained beach of the resort is the Dinevi Resort beach. A big plus is the convenient location of the resort, it takes 30-40 minutes to get from Burgas airport.

Another quiet resort next to Sunny Beach is Sozopol. An ancient town, quiet and romantic, its main attraction is the Old Town, located on the cape. The beaches here are different, the most popular and crowded is Harmani beach. There is shallow depth and beautiful fine sand, so it is almost ideal for a family holiday. Sozopol has a Ferris wheel, an amusement park and many playgrounds. The only thing that can spoil your holiday is that the sea in these parts is often stormy.

Do you want a calm and secluded holiday at sea with children in Bulgaria? Resorts Duni And Elenite will appeal to lovers of quiet tourist reservations, where there is only a hotel, a beach and plenty of entertainment on site. There are attractions and discos for children, and restaurants and sports games for adults.

Bulgaria is a good country!.. Every year more and more of our fellow tourists go there. If you decide to join them and spend your 2019 vacation on another Black Sea coast, then all these tips and a small rating of the best hotels for dessert are for you :)

The most popular “type” of holiday in Bulgaria is with children. Therefore, our recommendations on when is the best time to go to Bulgaria are focused on kids and their comfort:

  1. Beach season starts in May. This is the best time for a vacation with young children. The climate is mild and gentle. Even if the baby has just turned 1 year old, acclimatization is not scary. But few people will dare to swim at the end of spring - the sea is still cool (+21°C), and the weather can “diversify” the vacation with a little rain.
  2. Swimming season comes from June. The average air temperature reaches +26°C, and the water warms up to +23°C. At this time, a holiday in Bulgaria with children over 3 years old is ideal.
  3. July and August are high season: outside in summer it’s already up to +35°C, in the sea +25°C, and on the beaches there are more and more tourists, both families and without children. One big BUT: since the end of July, outbreaks of rotavirus infection have not been uncommon in Bulgarian resorts.
  4. And finally, September - the Velvet season: low prices, comfortable weather and a slowly cooling sea.

To save money, focus on the end of May-beginning of June or September: the cost of a vacation drops by ≈15%. And make early reservations or apartments, around March, it will be even cheaper.

By the way, there is also a ski season in this country (December-March). So, Bulgaria is good with children all year round :)

Why Bulgaria? Features of the holiday

In Bulgaria, a beach holiday with a child is chosen for several reasons:

  • a region with a Mediterranean climate eliminates the period of adaptation
  • gentle entry into the sea and soft sand
  • calm and safe
  • comfortable and inexpensive stay: according to tourists, in many 3* hotels the level of service and quality of food are comparable to 5 stars all inclusive. And one person’s budget for 7 days can be only €135 (including restaurants, excursions and souvenirs)
  • Bulgaria is also suitable for traveling with children thanks to its healing pine-sea air
  • Bulgaria or Türkiye? The first is supported by the kinship of cultures, languages and culinary preferences.
  • hotels are designed for family holidays: they will offer an additional cot, high chair, bottle warmer, menu

The most important thing is not to forget that Bulgaria is not a visa-free country. In 2019, the consular fee for a tourist visa is 35 euros (and 70 euros for an urgent one) + about €19 for a service fee if you apply through an intermediary. For children up to 6 years visa is free.

Prices for tours to Bulgaria

Have you heard about online tour aggregators? These are services that monitor the databases of all leading tour operators at once, compare prices and issue a summary of profitable tours. It’s one thing to study offers from 1-2 tour operators, and another to choose the best among all, especially when it is conveniently presented. So, we recommend:

Prices for tours to Bulgaria in 2019 are among the most reasonable (if you don’t take into account the visa. What if you have a valid Schengen card?). With departure from Moscow, for two + a child for 7 nights - from 55,000 rubles (breakfast). Of course, this price is for 2*, maximum 3* hotels. Similar tours to Bulgaria for 4 stars and above - from 63,000 rubles.

The cheapest resorts are Golden Sands and neighboring Chaika, St. Constantine and Helena. From the “biting” ones, but at the same level, with excellent all-inclusive hotels – Sunny Beach, Elenite, Nessebar.

By the way, how much does all inclusive cost in Bulgaria? 10 days of relaxing holiday will cost from 75,000 rubles for three. And in other countries?

The best resorts in Bulgaria for family holidays

In order to properly understand where is the best place to vacation in Bulgaria with children, we visited more than one travel forum, read reviews and advice from tourists.

  • and is the northern coast of the country, both resorts are located near Varna, which means convenient transfer from the airport
  • – also a popular northern destination, considered one of the main children's resorts in Bulgaria
  • and are located further south and are suitable for those who like to sightsee between swimming sessions
  • – a young resort near Sunny Beach, at the very foot of the Balkan Mountains
  • and – places for recreational purposes: natural beaches and balneological resorts

Where is the best place to go with a child?

If you are planning a holiday in Bulgaria with children, when choosing where to go, take into account factors such as: the child’s age, travel budget, preferences (relax on a sun lounger VS go on an excursion). Of course, you will solve all these issues yourself, and we will tell you where it is best to implement your plans.

  • Sunny Beach and Elenite

Where to go to Bulgaria with a child? To Sunny Beach. Even though this is the most expensive among all Bulgarian resorts: a tour for “mom, dad, me” for 7 days will cost from 60,000 rubles. However, holidays in Bulgaria with children, especially all-inclusive, in Sunny Beach are especially good, because... high prices are due to the same high quality of beaches and clean water (confirmed by the Blue Flag).

Because the resort is family and youth, there is an unspoken order of settlement: backpackers and students live in the center, buzzing at night; people go north for cool (and expensive) hotels; Well, the “children” gather in the southern part.

The Elenite resort deserves special attention: in this place the mountains come close to the sea, which allows you to enjoy the natural beauties that many resorts lack. Elenite is not such a party place as Sunny Beach, but it will still be comfortable here with preschoolers (the entrance to the water is not suitable for children, it is pebbly in places, and teenagers will be downright bored).

    Burgas

When exploring Bulgarian resorts for families with children, take a closer look at Burgas. This is an ancient port city, one of the largest in the country, which means it lives a real life that does not depend on the tourist season. By the way, in Burgas people often relax on their own.

    • Prices for hotels, even high-class ones, are two times lower than Solnechnobrezhnye
    • Plenty of grocery stores catering to locals
    • You can immerse yourself in architecture and parks without leaving the city

What will interfere with swimming is the port. But the problem can be solved: settle near Burgas, in Pomorie or Sozopol. In the first, for example, all conditions have been created for a family holiday - a gentle beach with a long descent into the water, where there is no fear for even the youngest swimmers, surrounded by apart-hotels and houses with apartments for rent. The second is a very nice town with old streets and good beaches.

    Golden Sands

Golden Sands is, after all, the north. Therefore, a significant drawback is the cool sea already in mid-September. But if you are with a very young child who needs fresh air and sunbathing more, this is the place for you. Another disadvantage is noise: there are quite a lot of young people, which means clubs and night discos. However, here you can also find quiet, family-run hotels (more details below).

Otherwise, everything is “tailored” specifically for children: in cafes there are children’s menus (even if there are none, you will be offered porridge for the baby), on the streets there is a lot of entertainment, attractions and all kinds of trampolines, hotels and other establishments are equipped with ramps for strollers.

Golden Sands is also chosen for its low prices (almost half lower than in Sunny Beach) and good sandy beaches.

    Albena

The best resorts in Bulgaria, alas, have a short season. This also applies to the famous children's health resort - Albena resort. It is located even further north than Golden Sands, and September can pass without swimming at all. Which, of course, is a shame, because... local beaches have been awarded the Blue Flag.

Albena is a semi-closed city-hotel for families, surrounded by a nature reserve. Oxygen here is not spoiled by cars; driving them through the resort is simply prohibited! Everyone walks on their own or rides bicycles. And they don’t make noise at night :)

There is plenty for children to do: attractions, equipped playgrounds, bicycle carts for rent, and a water park. Most hotels in Albena (from 3* and above) offer an all-inclusive system. But Albena eateries are so praised for their good cuisine and colorful interiors that you should definitely visit them.

What can you do? Entertainment

Are you planning to travel to Bulgaria with children, but don’t know which resort to choose so as not to get bored? Entertainment can be found anywhere, if there is a desire. But to save your time, we will describe in which direction you should look.

Let's start with the hotels themselves. Large complexes have animation, children's rooms, and playgrounds. In simpler places of residence, all this is no longer found in full force and not always. And if there is one, it may only be suitable for three-year-old children.

All the most interesting things in Bulgaria begin outside the hotels. There are fairground rides, horse riding, and other joys of childhood. And, of course, water parks:

  • “Aquamania” in Albena (for adults all day – €18, children – €8, those under a meter – free)
  • “Aqua Paradise” in Nessebar (per adult – €21.5, per child – €10 or free,
    if tall< 90 см)
  • “Action Aquapark” in Sunny Beach (for parents – €19.5, for children – €9.5 or free under the above conditions)
  • “Aquapolis” in Golden Sands (adult – €18, children – €9 or free)
  • Atlantida water park in Elenite (free for hotel guests or €15 per person over 90 cm).

P.S. It’s not us who write clumsily about ticket categories based on height, but the rules of water parks :)

With older children (who have outgrown diapers and already require bread and circuses) you can go on an excursion. But one that will be interesting to him, so now we are not talking about ancient churches and architectural monuments.

1️⃣ For children, a fascinating trip to the Varna Dolphinarium (adult ticket to the show - €12.5, children from 2 to 12 years old - €10; swimming with a dolphin - €102).

2️⃣ On the way to Varna, you can also stop by the Happy Land amusement park (entrance for adults or children - €12, under 3 years old - free).

3️⃣ In Burgas, it is worth visiting the park along the sea - Seaside Park.

4️⃣ Someone will probably like the complex - the Palace and Botanical Garden in Balchik - not far from Albena (adults ticket will cost €5, children - €1, under 7 years free; entrance to the garden - €2.5 and €0, 5 respectively).

Top 10 hotels in Bulgaria for families with children

Well, here we come to the most interesting part: choosing the best hotels in Bulgaria for families with children.

  • Golden Sands

    1. 5* Melia Grand Hermitage– this is the first line, all inclusive and a large area (a kind of prototype of a Turkish hotel). Parents with small children will like it here - the animation and games room are designed for children up to 4-5 years old:
    2. 5* Marina Grand Beach– suitable even for holidays with babies. The animation is on par, as is the food:
    3. 3* Gradina– that very calm hotel in the hyper-noisy Golden Sands. Quite budget-friendly, with good food - you can take both breakfast and full board. It’s about 10 minutes to the sea, but you’ll have to walk along the beach; the entrance is not convenient everywhere:
    4. 4* Luna– a quiet hotel located on the first line, a special children’s area in the pool. The main advantage of the hotel is the variety of food in the restaurant:
    5. 4* Astera Hotel & Spa– is located in the epicenter of the resort’s nightlife, but the big advantages are high-quality all-inclusive and an excellent beach:

Absolutely all beaches in Bulgaria are subordinate to the municipality, which, along with hotels, monitors their cleanliness. Umbrellas, sun loungers and toilets on the beach paid. But no one will forbid sunbathing on your own towel or mat (albeit in a certain area). Which, in fact, is what many vacationers do.

Sunny Beach is a continuous sandy beach stretching for 8 km along the coast. The local Irakli beach, located on the territory of the reserve, is considered the best in Bulgaria. Chaise lounge and umbrella: for €9.

Sozopol boasts several beaches at once. Chaise lounge and umbrella: for €6.

      • Central - with a gentle entry into the water, but narrow
      • Harmani – a wide beach for families
      • Kavatsite (a suburb of Sozopol) is one of the most beautiful beaches in Bulgaria
      • Smokine – no less picturesque, but without any civilization

Not far from Nessebar there is the Olympic Hopes beach with various attractions and catamarans for rent. Chaise lounge and umbrella: for €6.

Golden Sands is a deeper sea for those who are older. It’s worth relaxing here with kids near the Riviera complex. Chaise lounge and umbrella: for €10.

Albena is good in all respects! Cleanliness, civility, a lot of entertainment - all together this makes up the ideal children's beach. Chaise lounge and umbrella, if not included in the hotel price: €5 and €7 respectively.

And finally, dear parents, some advice.

When choosing hotels in Bulgaria for your holiday, study the reviews. It will help to avoid disappointment from the Soviet hotel heritage, which, unfortunately, is still found in Bulgaria.

Start your search with budget options - inexpensive hotels in Bulgaria, especially those listed in our selection, can be as good as five-star hotels.

Consider all the features of holidays with children:

      • think over the menu (all or cafes in the neighborhood)
      • Find out in advance if there is a store with baby products nearby.
      • be prepared that the baby will not be interested in animation, will refuse the nanny and will be with you 24 hours a day

If you are traveling with a very small child, it is better to plan your trip for June or September, when it is not hot.

If possible, try to find hotels by the sea - long trips to the beach can be tiring for children.

Holidays in Bulgaria with a child

Holidays in Bulgaria with children

Along with Cyprus, which I wrote about earlier, a popular destination for holidays with children in the summer of 2016 will be Bulgaria .

Why choose Bulgaria? Let's look at its advantages:

+ Quite economical holiday. Bulgaria is cheaper than Cyprus and other popular destinations this season.

+ Wide sandy beaches with a gentle slope into the sea, which is convenient for children.

+ The flight takes about 2.5 hours, your child will not get tired on the road.

+ Many hotels operate on the All Inclusive system and are located on the 1st line.

+ Infrastructure for children has been developed both in hotels and outside. In Bulgaria there are water parks, dolphinariums and other children's entertainment. Many hotels are focused on family holidays; they have mini clubs, children's food, water slides and all the conditions for relaxing with children.

+ Visa for children under 6 years old is free. And hotels offer discounts for children under 12 years of age.

Bulgaria is washed by the Black Sea and is divided into 2 parts: northern and southern. They have slightly different climates. North coast (arrival airport Varna; resorts Golden Sands, Albena, St. Constantine and Helena, Rusalka, etc.) more picturesque, hilly, there is more greenery. South coast (you arrive in Burgas; resorts Sunny Beach, Nessebar, Obzor, Elenite, St. Vlas, Pomorie, Sozopol, Dunes) has a wide, long beach strip. Here the swimming season lasts a little longer than on the northern coast.

Bulgarian resorts for families with children

I would like to highlight such resorts as Sunny Beach, Albena, Elenite, Obzor, Golden Sands.

Resort Albena It is adjacent to the Balta nature reserve, which is why there is a lot of greenery and oxygen-rich air, which has a very beneficial effect on the health of vacationers. An excellent wide beach with a gentle slope - convenient for swimming for children of any age! Most hotels have facilities for families with children, operate on an all-inclusive basis, many have mini-clubs and animation. For children, the resort itself has a lot of entertainment: the Aquamania water park, mini-luna park, playgrounds, etc. the resort is located on the North coast - you should go here no earlier than mid-June.

Sunny Beach located on the south coast. It's always a little warmer here than at other resorts. A very active resort, there is a lot of entertainment for both adults and children (for example, a large water park and attractions); the longest beach strip is more than 8 km, wide beaches with a gentle slope. You can get around the city by public transport (buses and tourist open trains).

There is an ancient city nearby Nessebar with a large number of historical and architectural monuments.

Elenite And Review- These are calm, family resorts. Obzor has children's camps and a favorable climate that promotes improved health. The village is located between Burgas and Varna. For entertainment, there is an amusement park, and there are hotels with water slides, playgrounds and animation. Elenite is located near Sunny Beach, most hotels operate on an All Inclusive basis. This is a quiet, private place for a family holiday. Children will be interested in the Aladdin children's club, built based on the 1001 Nights in the form of an oriental palace, and the Atlantis water park.

Golden Sands- the most popular resort in Bulgaria. The country's first water park "Aquapolis" appeared here, there are children's sports centers, you can go pony riding, children's discos, performances, trains and bouncy castles and much more. Very active resort.

  • To Bulgaria with children

Why are Bulgarian resorts for families with children in constant demand? It's quite simple. In terms of their infrastructure, they are very reminiscent of Turkish resorts, as well as the quality of the sea and beaches. However, if you are traveling with children, the flight to Bulgaria will take less time, which is important, and the local climate will not seem too harsh for children. After all, not every adult can handle the stifling summer heat of some Turkish cities! A nice bonus is that prices are more reasonable, so you can spend money not only on “bare” accommodation and food, but also on actively exploring the country as part of excursion programs. So, we have prepared for you a list of Bulgarian resorts that will be most convenient for families with children.

A nice bonus only for our readers - a discount coupon when paying for tours on the website until August 31:

Albena is still one of the largest Bulgarian resorts on the Black Sea coast. Its construction took place in 1969. The location for the future resort was chosen ideally - the northern corner of the Bulgarian Riviera abuts the Baltata nature reserve, which is distinguished by its unique nature. Guests can enjoy a truly rare combination of liana forest and warm sea. Albena is the number one choice when it comes to holidays with children. All conditions have been created for little travelers.

It is worth noting the local beach - it has the status of the widest in the country and is distinguished by a smooth descent into the water, which made it possible to install numerous water attractions that always attract children. No need to worry about cleanliness - the beach is marked with the Blue Flag. Almost every hotel has children's clubs and special pools for children. The resort itself has an amusement park, diving and riding schools, and a bicycle rental service. A variety of festivals and cultural events are regularly held here.

Saint Constantine and Helen

This compact resort town will be the best option for parents who want to show children under four years old the beauty of seascapes. All conditions are created here not only for relaxation, but also for recovery. The atmosphere of the resort is very homely: family hotels and cottages are surrounded by greenery, there are few crowded beaches and, if necessary, you can always choose one of the quiet coves scattered along the coast.

At the resort of St. Constantine and Helena there are mineral springs, the water from which is supplied to the swimming pools. It is noteworthy that there is never suffocating heat here due to the fact that cypresses, pines, lindens and figs grow everywhere. Children's playgrounds are scattered throughout, and there are scooters and bicycles for rent. If you want to slightly diversify your vacation program, you can always go to Varna, which is nearby. There is a modern water park and a dolphinarium.

Varna

The mild climate and wide, clean beaches combined with vibrant greenery make Varna an excellent choice for family holidays. Compared to other resorts in the region, the infrastructure here is more developed, and therefore both adults and children will be able to spend more active leisure time. However, Varna is also far from Golden Sands with its party atmosphere. All the children of Varna are naturally drawn to the Seaside Garden. This is an entertainment complex that is suitable for children of different age categories. In fact, this is a huge garden, in the thicket of which there is a magic kingdom - an amusement park.

The Children's Kit (i.e., “corner”) has its own man-made pond on which you can ride a boat. Next door there is a cafe serving colorful cocktails and fresh juices. All conditions for playing sports are created here: from tennis to badminton. Those who want to ride a bicycle or roller skate can use specially equipped tracks. For the little ones there is a separate play area with slides, sandboxes and a private pool. There is also a dolphinarium in Varna. The dolphin show always attracts attention.

Byala

The only drawback of a holiday in Byala is the specific nature of the beach line. The descent to the sea is quite sharp. In order to get to warm water, you have to go down fifty steps. If you are in good physical shape and traveling with school-aged children, this will not be a problem. Children are usually enthusiastic about this exercise, but if you have younger children who need to be carried, it may not be very convenient. Apart from this, there are no obvious disadvantages.

The sea is clean, there is a ten-meter zone around the coast, in which the water depth is no more than one meter. So you can worry a little less about the safety of children. In addition, lifeguards are constantly on duty here. This does not apply only to wild areas of the beach. The sand is fine, light yellow. Despite the sandy coast, the beach is clean. One of the favorite recreational options for children is water slides.

While children are busy conquering the peaks, adults can relax or swim. The city has an ethnographic museum, which is unlikely to be of interest to children, but the hotels have children's clubs with animators. You should definitely leave your child with the hotel staff for one evening to attend a local wine tasting.

Duni

This resort town is located on the southern coast. It has a reputation as a place that can satisfy the tastes of even the most discerning guests. Golden sand, a pier, shady alleys and streets paved with old stones that have already worn out, cozy hotels - Duni seems like a real city of the sun. It is especially good for relaxing with kids and schoolchildren. The proximity of mountains and coniferous forests helps create a special microclimate.

Prices here are slightly higher than in other regions, but this does not prevent the resort from being full even in high season. Still, the quality of rest matters. The local beach with clean sand and a gentle slope is ideal for children, as the water in shallow water warms up much faster. There is a long breakwater installed here, and therefore the sea is almost never stormy. All local hotels operate on an all-inclusive program, which is especially important when traveling with children.

In general, Duni is a kind of entertainment complex for young travelers, combining children's clubs, discos, swimming pools, attractions and sudden interactions with animation teams. You won't be bored! The only thing worth keeping in mind is that there is no public transport in the city, but the problem can be solved: you can always take a taxi or rent a car.

Elenite

Elenite is quite popular as a holiday destination with children. Like other cities in the region, it is located among coniferous forests, which, in combination with the Black Sea, gives a healing effect. In 2006, the Atlantis water park was finally opened on the territory, which dramatically increased the popularity of the resort. In parallel with it, an original children's club appeared, which is located in a smaller copy of the eastern palace.

When building Aladdin, the designers were inspired by the tales told by Scheherazade to the cruel ruler. Not only purely playful, but also educational programs are initiated for children. During the daytime, competitions, contests and various games are held on the coast. The kids will definitely not be bored.

Golden Sands

There is no older, more famous and more crowded resort complex on the entire coast. However, the flow of tourists is in no hurry to subside - from year to year thousands of people come here for the velvety golden beaches with a gentle slope and the clear sea. Usually these are young people and couples with children, so you definitely won’t get bored in the company of older people who have a slightly different idea of a real vacation.

The project was initially conceived in such a way as to create a comfortable ecosystem for recreation for married couples and young people. Therefore, most hotels have specialized staff, and restaurants offer children's menus. Playgrounds and swimming pools for children are equipped everywhere. If you are planning a vacation with your loved ones, it is better to choose hotels in the second or third line. Why? everything is quite simple - the center is very lively.

Especially the Broadway area, where most entertainment venues, restaurants, bars and clubs are concentrated. And falling asleep to trendy beats is not very pleasant. It’s better to choose the northern part of the resort or climb the mountains. The atmosphere here is completely different - birdsong, centuries-old trees, silence, vibrant national cuisine and more liberal prices!

sunny day

Sunny Day is another luxury resort. Its complex includes only four hotels, which are located in a small and very picturesque bay. As you understand, this place is secluded and worth the money. The local beach is awarded the Blue Flag every year. Nature favors this place. The sea here is very calm, and the relict forest spread around destroys the remaining echoes of civilization. Mineral springs flow here, which has a beneficial effect on the health of hotel guests.

On the beach you can rent a yacht and arrange a short cruise with the whole family. Scuba diving equipment is also available for rent. The local underwater world is quite colorful, and therefore diving schools are open for children. In general, the children's component of the holiday is well developed - games, competitions and educational programs are designed for children of different ages. If you want to leave this oasis of silence for a while, opt for one of the excursion tours around Bulgaria.

Sunny Beach

As if in contrast to the secluded atmosphere of Sunny Day, Sunny Beach confidently holds the status of the largest resort in Bulgaria, so the atmosphere here is more than lively. Nevertheless, it is located some distance from the railway, airports and other large cities, so some isolation is still felt. But this lack of “competitors” only benefits the city - the Blue Flag has been given to the Gold Coast without question for many decades.

It is well suited for holidays with children. The bay is wide and calm, and most hotels are located right by the sea, so there is no need to go down from the mountains. Playgrounds and sports grounds, swings, water slides, swimming pools - children will be able to spend their holiday actively. In addition, children's discos and other events are regularly held here. A water park was also opened here in the early 2000s. The Deep Blue diving center operates in the south of the city.

Review

The beauty of the local nature amazes you every time you find yourself in this small Bulgarian resort. It is located literally on the border between harsh rocky landscapes and the warm blue mass of the sea. The air here warms up more, by an average of 3-5 degrees, than in other areas of the region. It hardens into a lush veil, filled with the aroma of wildflowers. Obzor is not a super popular holiday destination. It is now actively developing, so prices here are about two times lower than in other cities. But the rest conditions are by no means worse.

The hotels are located at a decent distance from each other, and therefore the beaches here are free. In addition to hotels, there are health centers that specialize in the treatment of asthma and bronchitis. You can relax there with your children. The local souvenir market is very extensive. Be sure to stroll among the family-owned shops. Children are guaranteed to enjoy immersing themselves in such a kaleidoscope of hand-made things, and parents will be able to buy a couple of bottles of homemade wine instead of a souvenir.

Nessebar

This city is rightly called the pearl of the country. It occupies a rocky peninsula slightly north of Burgas. It has almost three thousand years of rich historical past behind it. The greatest civilizations alternately lived on the peninsula, and therefore most of the surviving buildings are under the protection of international organizations. Old Nessebar will especially impress children. The fact is that about three hundred years ago a huge section of the city with ancient towers and temples went under water. There are only forty buildings left on the surface.

However, the fact that the city has drowned does not prevent tourists from enjoying its beauty. The water here is so clean that you can see the sights “from above” during a boat ride. The local beach is also an honorary holder of the Blue Flag. An amusement park, a water park, playgrounds and parks are open for children. In addition, the transport infrastructure is well developed here, so if you wish, you can visit any other city in the region.

Pomorie

Pomorie gained its fame long before the opening of the modern resort. Local healing mud and clean lakes have always attracted numerous tourists. Today, hospitals and sanatoriums have been opened on the basis of the old institutions. The location of the city is also picturesque - it stands on a rocky island, connected to the mainland only by a narrow isthmus. Moreover, the entire coastline is flat, and the beach itself received the Blue Flag.

However, not everyone will like relaxing on local beaches - although the beach is clean, due to its high iron content it has a brownish-grayish tint. There are no mountain ranges or coniferous forests on the peninsula, but there are vineyards here. Many tourists come here in the summer to rent a house near the shore and undergo a number of wellness procedures that will be useful for both adults and children. A fairly varied entertainment program is offered for children; children's clubs are open at the hotels.

Sozopol

If you see your vacation filled with bright colors and impressions, feel free to choose Sozopol. This resort town belongs to the historical wealth of Bulgaria. It has existed since the times of the ancient Greek colonization of the Black Sea coast. Once upon a time there was a huge statue of Apollo on the shore. Local authorities promise to build it again. So, what is a must-visit while on holiday in Sozopol with children? To begin with, you can arrange a short hike to the mouth of the Ropotamo River.

From here begins the nature reserve, which is better known as the “Amazon”. This name is completely justified - the local forests most closely resemble the dangers lurking at every step of the tropics. At first, it may seem that something like this simply could not appear in the vicinity of a city filled with ancient Russian churches and quite familiar natural landscapes. Another unusual attraction is the so-called stone forest on St. Ivan Island. The forest “grew” under water and is a majestic sight.

Burgas

A family holiday in Burgas can be a very enjoyable adventure, mainly because it is a fairly large city with many interesting places worth visiting with children. For example, the vast Sea Garden park, which is located near the coast. Amusements, recreation areas, walking and cycling paths are scattered across a wide area of land. Various events are often held here in the summer. Amusement Park Prikazkite is another entertainment area aimed at children of all ages. This is a kind of year-round fair.

Children may also be interested in the local Archaeological Museum. Its exhibition includes numerous antique sculptures, pottery, jewelry made of precious stones and, of course, weapons. After seeing the sights in the city, you can go to the surrounding areas, for example, to Deultum, where excavations of ancient buildings are being carried out.

Kavarna

This is another corner of the Bulgarian land not overrun by tourists. It is located on the border with Romania and has a somewhat different charm. What is it? Yes, of course, there is a warm seaside corner here, caressed by the sun and worn down by salty waters, but more interesting are the ancient fortresses, moats, castle walls, tours of which will turn into a very intense medieval quest. The city's pride is its ancient fountains.

In general, the city is good for family ecotourism. Here you can organize not only a ghost hunt, but also a photo hunt, for example, for dolphins or birds, of which there are a great many. It turns out to be a rather ambiguous portrait, doesn't it? Let's apply the final strokes! Kovarna is the center of rock music. Major European festivals are held here every year, which have been attended by world-class stars more than once. Of course, this was also reflected in the appearance of the city.

Topola

Holidays in Topol are an example of a secluded holiday in the European style. The town itself is small and quiet. It is located in the north of Bulgaria, has its own sun-drenched, clean beach and calm sea. Children will enjoy a holiday here no less than adults. How to surprise little travelers? It’s worth booking a tour of the local natural beauty, not even for the nature itself, but for the variety of birds that you can watch here from a very close distance.

They nest on rocks and favor tourists who feed them bread crumbs. There are a number of mineral springs in Topol. Local waters are rich in iodine, which has a beneficial effect on the musculoskeletal system. If you have never taken your child fishing with you, now is the time to correct this omission. Here you can rent fishing rods and all the necessary equipment and go to the pier at dawn. Not far from Topola there is a diving club that is suitable for both professionals and beginners.

Balchik

This is a fairly popular resort on the north-eastern part of the Black Sea coast. It is often chosen for holidays with children. Why? You can get from Varna Airport to Balchik in just half an hour, which is especially important when traveling with young travelers. The city is filled not only with sun and salty sea air, but also with numerous historical attractions, which subsequently allows you to dilute a rather monotonous beach holiday with more vivid impressions.

In addition, it is guaranteed to broaden the horizons of both children and adults. The local hotel business is more than diverse. Here you can find a hotel both for a more budget-friendly holiday option and for living on a grand scale. The beach area has excellent infrastructure. Water skis, catamarans, water slides, sun loungers, umbrellas, sun loungers - a beach holiday here is very comfortable.

Bulgaria is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries. For our compatriots, Bulgaria has long been a favorite for a number of completely objective reasons: it is inexpensive, it is beautiful, it is tasty and it is the sea. There are a lot of resorts, children’s camps, entire complexes on the Bulgarian coast, and every decade a new one is formed, growing from a small village. Thus, the Bulgarian coast represents a whole chain of excellent and varied resorts. By the way, let's talk about them and how good they are for families with children:

Varna

The largest port in the country, “the summer capital of Bulgaria”, “the best city to live in Bulgaria” - this is what Varna is called. Varna is a city of contrasts, and its architecture is a mixture of the beautiful and the ugly. Tourists prefer to come to Varna for a walk from neighboring small resorts, because it is a lot of fun. There is excellent entertainment for children, perhaps the best on the entire coast - dolphinariums, amusement parks, aquariums, a puppet theater, and a whole bunch of historical buildings and museums, for example, an archaeological one with some incredible exhibits. And a fantastic “stone forest” nearby. There are a lot of excellent cafes and restaurants, you can go here for shopping for your child, and in general, it’s very convenient to get here. But there are not very many hotels for family holidays in Varna - after all, this is a city, not a resort village.

One of the largest cities in Bulgaria, quite beautiful and interesting for a child. Burgas has beautiful parks, beaches with dark sand, cultural life (a number of interesting festivals take place here, for example, the Sand Sculpture Festival), again, good shopping for a child, and some entertainment - an amusement park, the Primorskaya Gradina park " The downside of Burgas is its beaches: they are not very good, or rather, the sea there is rather dirty, because there is a large seaport nearby, and all the port pollution ends up on the city beaches. But there are better beaches outside the city. There are almost no hotels for children in Burgas, but you can easily find hotels with swimming pools and family rooms.

Tsarevo

A city and port in Bulgaria, one of the southernmost seaside resorts in the country. Small, but very interesting, absolutely not youthful, not particularly crowded, very inexpensive, with a clean sea and good beaches. And the big plus is that it’s a little warmer and better here than at other resorts, because the resort is located further south.

Kranevo

The village is 15 km from Balchik, small, with a clean golden beach 6 km long and a clear sea. Very inexpensive, quiet, with small hotels (mostly guesthouses or 2* and 3* hotels, or apartments), which are also good for children. More suitable for holidays with small children.

Review

One of the oldest cities in Bulgaria with wonderful climatic conditions, good beaches, brand new hotels, low prices for accommodation and services. It’s also very quiet and peaceful here. This is clearly a family resort, because there is absolutely nothing for young people to do here. The downside of Obzor is that it is located a bit far from the main excursion spots on the coast, and you will have to take a bus from the airport. There is also very little entertainment for children here - perhaps the Castle entertainment complex on the beach.

Saint Vlas

A young and rapidly developing village near Sunny Beach, quiet and peaceful, with its own marina, excellent family complexes with mini-clubs and children's animators, wonderful beaches (shallow waters). But there is little entertainment. If you are not going to leave the village anywhere, then it is better to come here with small children and primary schoolchildren.

Elenite

The resort is between two favorite resorts - Burgas and Sunny Beach. A young, calm resort, not yet as crowded and noisy as other cities, modern (no hotels a la the USSR), a water park, gorgeous nature (the Balkan Mountains literally “press” the resort to the sea), not so expensive, with a good climate ( mountains protect the resort from the winds). Hotels in Elenite are generally all for children! I am especially pleased with the complex of the Royal Club Victoria hotel chain, where the entertainment for children is very cool.

Balchik

The city in northeastern Bulgaria is an important port. It is located near Varna airport, offers interesting places for a walk (because Balchik is a city with a rather rich history), mineral springs within the city, and some children's entertainment. But the beaches here are not the best. The beaches are not well-maintained, and the one that is well-maintained and looks better is always packed to capacity. But there is a very interesting place here - Queen Mary's Palace with an incredible botanical garden.

St. Constantine and Helena

One of the oldest and most beautiful resorts in all of Bulgaria. Small, very green, with a low density of hotels, this absolutely non-party town can offer a very good beach holiday, especially in the northern part of the town. There are also hot hydrogen sulfide mineral springs, and some hotels offer free swimming in the pool with this healthy water. Nice bonus! The downside is the fairly high shore and stairs leading to the beaches. It's inconvenient with a stroller. There is not much entertainment for children.

Sozopol

An excellent family resort with a unique flavor and rich past, small and homely, with cool beaches and plenty of cafes. For entertainment, there is the Aqua Planet water park and the Ravadinovo castle in the neighboring village. There are good hotels for families.

Sunny Beach

There is a lot of entertainment for children and adults, in hotels and outside (luna park, two water parks), excellent tourist infrastructure, a good selection of hotels, clean beaches awarded the Blue Flag. It’s true that the hotels here are very expensive, and there is not much greenery compared to other resorts. Noisy and fun!

Albena

A young, beautiful and well-groomed resort with excellent beaches and clean sea, the Baltata nature reserve nearby and good entertainment for little ones.

Golden Sands

Cool, popular, with very high quality family hotels, wonderful beaches with truly golden sands, but too noisy and crowded, with a high density of hotels. In addition, the town is hilly, and crawling through the mountains with a stroller is not very convenient. But the Aquapolis water park and the Golden Sands park - and nothing else is needed!

Nessebar

The ancient, wonderful, beautiful Nessebar is a place where tourists go on excursions to see the Old Town. There are good family hotels (in the New Part) and some entertainment for children - the Aquaparadise water park, for example.

And don’t forget that Bulgaria also offers excellent ski resorts , among which we can highlight Borovets and Bansko.
