On its territory in 1964, the village of Vulanskaya was formed, which in 1889, already a village, received a new name, which has survived to this day. The Arkhipo-Osipovka resort was named in honor of the valiant Russian army soldier Arkhip Osip, who died defending the fortification.
Geography
The village of Arkhipo-Osipovka is located on the very coast of the Black Sea. Two mountain rivers, Teshebs and Vulan, flow through its territory and flow into the sea. The neighboring villages are Dzhubga and Betta.

The village of Arkhipo-Osipovka appeared on the site of an ancient Adyghe settlement - Adyghe, after the Russian-Turkish war. After the end of the Caucasian War, here, in 1864, a village appeared, with the name Vulanskaya, after the name of the river, but in 1889, with the royal permission, Vulanskaya was renamed Arkhipo-Osipovka.
The village is quite large compared to other similar ones, the population is about 10,000 people. It is located at the mouth of the Vulan River, on both sides of the village there are mountain peaks covered with deciduous forest, from which the bay, beach, village and the surrounding area of the Caucasus Mountains are perfectly visible. The village of Arkhipo-Osipovka has, as they say now, its own special feature. If you look at the village from a bird's eye view, you can see that most of the roofs are painted blue. The combination of blue roofs against the green background of forests and the blue sea in the distance is a truly enchanting view.
The Mediterranean climate, clean healing air, surrounded by deciduous forests make Arkhipo-Osipovka an ideal place for a family holiday. Over many centuries, the Vulan River has brought so much sand from the mountains that a gentle slope into the sea has formed in the bay. This is an ideal beach for children to swim. The length of the entire beach is about 1 km. There is an embankment built along almost the entire beach, quite long (several hundred meters) and wide. There are numerous cafes, restaurants, shops, rental shops, as well as a small dolphinarium and the Malibu amusement park. And just like on a real (steep) embankment, there is a fountain. You can make appointments at the fountain.
For accommodation, rooms are rented out in the private sector in the village, and there are also sanatoriums and holiday homes. To get to Arkhipo-Osipovka, you must first take a train to Tuapse, Novorossiysk or Krasnodar, and then take a bus. If you fly by plane, it’s better to go to Krasnodar, and then by bus. It’s possible to go as far as Adler, but that’s further. There are no problems with your car, the M4 (Don) highway passes through the village.
The village of Arkhipo-Osipovka has a good and beautiful beach, with a developed entertainment infrastructure. Closed on both sides by capes, with a bottom gently sloping into the depths, and covered with small pebbles, it is ideal for families with small children. During this walk you will definitely meet dolphins; there are a lot of them here, which indicates the purity of the water in the bay. Nevertheless, the infrastructure looks quite good, without frightening vacationers with sad contrasts with its famous neighbor.
Airplane? Yes exactly!
The presence of an airport in Gelendzhik solves the problem of movement in the vicinity of the Kuban health resort. Not in the sense that the “air harbor” will lead the passenger straight to a small village. However, its convenient location eliminates the difficulties of transferring to smaller areas of the Krasnodar Territory.
Buses and taxis
Unlike many small villages located on the Black Sea coast, the path to Arkhipo-Osipovka does not look like an endless obstacle course. There are also hotels of a lower class here. But the rooms themselves are not too different from more expensive options in neighboring complexes. The lack of food outlets and a personal reservoir on the territory of the building is usually compensated by the presence of inexpensive cafes nearby and proximity to the Black Sea coast.
