It is clear that you should not take your child to the Tretyakov Gallery or to an exhibition of contemporary art at the exhibition center. He will be bored, whine, you will be nervous, in a word, the memories of the trip will not be at all what you would like. If your child is not yet old enough, then you will have to take into account his interests first. For us it happened naturally - we went for it. But if you would like to arrange family holiday in Moscow “to make it interesting for everyone,” then, I’m afraid, you won’t have many options.

You can, of course, split up. For example, dad and baby go on their own program, and mom goes shopping. Then dad goes to an exhibition of vintage cars, and mom picks up the baton and looks after the child.

Not being great experts on Moscow, not knowing all the places where we could go with a child, we outlined two scenarios. The first one would work in case of good weather. The second plan was for the cold and rain.

We were both lucky and unlucky at the same time. The first day was sunny, warm and pleasant. However, the train arrived in Moscow at almost three o'clock in the afternoon, by the time we checked into the hotel, while we had a snack, there was only time left to visit Izmailovo Kremlin, and even then almost all the facilities were already closed.

On the second day, it was rainy in the morning, twilight and windy. The temperature dropped to +13 degrees. Therefore, we had to abandon the “sunny” scenario and act in accordance with the “rainy” one.

In fact, this second, “rainy” scenario is more universal. It can be used on a sunny day and in winter, in frost and slush. Therefore, in this article I will talk about how we spent the second day in Moscow before the evening train.

Children's World on Lubyanka

This is the place where you can spend almost the whole day. Especially if you come from small town and your child may have only seen a small toy section at the local department store. Children's World in Moscow- a place where you can not only buy amazing children's toys, not only shake up your entire fortune, but also quite comfortably and, most importantly, completely free of charge, give your child the opportunity to get a lot of new impressions and pleasure.

Personally, we went to the Central Children's World to look for some good birthday present, and at the same time pass the time before the return evening train.

The best way to get to Children's World is by metro. You need to take the “red” line and get off at the Lubyanka station. Next, follow the signs on the platform. If you choose the right exit, you can get into the department store without even going outside - right from the underground passage.

From the very beginning we were amazed by the scale of this huge children's store.

The space of the main hall is simply amazing. A huge clock with a giant swinging pendulum the size of a person (they are in the center in the previous photo) immediately catches your eye. There is a stage under the clock. Probably various entertainment events take place here. True, we didn’t find any of them ourselves, but the child spent half an hour immersed in building houses from large Lego-type cubes.

The most surprising thing, and a little unexpected for Moscow, is that you didn’t have to pay for it. I asked the animator how much it costs to play with blocks, for some reason he was embarrassed and replied that it was completely free. After that, my wife and I were forgotten for about half an hour. The kid, in the company of the same “bolts”, under the guidance of animators, built a castle from cubes.

Over time, mobile kiosks with ice cream, various candies and other goodies began to appear on the ground floor.

After we had had enough of playing with cubes, it was decided to go up to the second floor, where there was a huge... no, just gigantic World of Hamleys store. This is where we spent the next two hours. And we didn’t even buy anything. We just walked around the scenery and played on the playgrounds. Time flew by completely unnoticed.

The first thing that impressed us very much was the completely free carousels. It is clear that children over 5 years old would not be very interested in them. But we usually went on such rides in a local park, and paid 100 rubles for each ride.

On the second floor Children's world We were first offered a ride on a train:

And then on the galloping horses:

Unfortunately the photos didn't turn out the best highest quality, but the carousels were really very colorful, with lights and music. Everything is as it should be.

It is noteworthy that two photographers worked on the territory of the store and offered to arrange. You know, in an ordinary store this will seem crazy, but the World of Hamleys in Children's world Lubyanka is really very beautifully decorated. I think the following photographs will confirm this.

We spent the next couple of hours in the department. The child generally loves to build with these construction sets, and here he had a real blast. In glass cases there were huge scenes with models assembled from Lego bricks:

There were buildings, trees, Railway with trains and even a whole mountain. The most amazing thing is that the models moved: trains ran, cranes turned, lifted and lowered loads, the mill turned, a combine and a truck walked across the field... And anyone could control all these moving models. All you had to do was press the buttons on the consoles near the glass aquarium:

Of course, all this needs to be seen in motion, so I even made a short film so that you can also see how it all spins and drives. It’s immediately obvious that they tried to do everything here so that children would beg their parents for another toy.

Right next to the glass aquariums with the models there were “bowls” with Lego parts, so anyone could easily come up and build something. Not only children, but also some adults succumbed to this temptation. It's not me in the next photo. This is some other dad who also decided to “shake off the old days”:

There are also a lot of Lego sets on display here that you can buy. The prices, you understand, are not small. In general, Lego is already quite expensive. But in this store some sets are even more expensive than in regular ones. This is probably how the store compensates for the costs of free carousels.

Here we should immediately agree with the child that we will play first and then buy something. In principle, among the little visitors during my stay in the store, I did not see a single one who would throw a tantrum. I think you can always come to an agreement with a child.

Large figures assembled from parts gave the Lego department a special charm. Moreover, they were assembled so skillfully that they looked quite realistic, especially from a distance. You could take a photo with some of them:

In the shop Hamleys World- many thematic departments: children's books, Masha and the Bear, puzzles, labyrinths, etc. There are many life-size puppets and entire scenes where you can take great pictures. Just a simple walk around the store looking at the assortment will take quite a lot of time. And if a child “sits down to play” somewhere, the visit may take a very long time.

At least when we left the store, we were surprised to find that we had been there for 2 hours! There were still 3 hours left before the train, and we were still only on the second floor.

Then the ascent continued at a faster pace. The child was not very interested in clothing and shoe stores. He lingered for a while near the interactive tables, where one could (again, completely free) try to play games, color characters, etc.

Our hike ended on the 6th floor, where there was a food court. There were a variety of cafes, but we shopped in Teremok. There you could buy a portion of real buckwheat porridge and other dishes that are not fast food, but rather regular homemade food.

There is also a small space-themed playground on the 6th floor:

We left Children's World with regret. It was time for us to go to the station. We left unvisited the dinosaur exhibition, the observation deck... and many other interesting places that we may not have even noticed. We'll watch it next time.

Conclusion

If it were on the street good weather, then we would probably go to VDNKh. There are many attractions, there is a place to walk and play. But there is nothing to do there in the rain and wind. So if you choose a place, where can you go with a child in Moscow, That Children's World on Lubyanka- a very good option, although, of course, it is far from the only one.

Everything you need is there. You can, in principle, not buy anything and just walk and play. If you want to give your baby a gift, Children's World has almost everything you need. The only “ambush” is that some things are unreasonably expensive. For example, trains from Chuggington cost 999 rubles apiece there, while in other places the price can be half that price!

Therefore, in order not to overpay for this or that thing, it is very advisable to generally be guided by the prices of toys. It is worth choosing something that, in any case, is not much more expensive than in regular stores.

On the other hand, there may be more interesting places for older children. When we grow up, we'll check it and write a new review.
