Is it worth going to Loo? Where to go and what to see in Loo: attractions and entertainment Where the evening light of Loo is held

The place, located twenty kilometers from the center of Sochi, is more like a mirage. The scent of magic is everywhere here. Probably, it was precisely such settlements that inspired creators to work of genius. Beautiful Loo is a true paradise for inspiration. The magnificent landscapes characteristic of the capital of the 2014 Winter Olympics are also present in its surroundings. Immersed in the embrace of the mountains, the fantastic valley lures tourists into its domain. Fortunately, a trip to this part of the Black Sea coast does not at all resemble an expedition to a desert island, and a vacation in the vastness of the “Kuban Eldorado” does not at all look like an unattainable dream.

However, we will talk about transport and financial accessibility a little later. One of the most famous resorts in the southern territories of the Russian Federation, it is worthy of mention not only in the context of impeccable roads and excellent railway connections. People who find themselves here find some kind of refined happiness. Feeling like fabulous hermits, city guests realize the proximity of civilization. The best hotels and boarding houses in the country, contrary to idle speculation, do not at all spoil the visual appearance of the natural landscape. An amazing alliance of coziness and European comfort only adds to the mystical appeal.

Architectural and film attractions

It is not without reason that perhaps the main attraction of Loo is the ruins of a Christian temple. Numerous pilgrims continue to flock to the destroyed religious symbol. It should be noted that the monument of the past millennia has not lost its original appeal. The ruins seem to keep the secrets of history. Perhaps the “Loo block” is significantly ahead of the existing churches. All adherents of religious values, as well as gentlemen with good artistic taste, are eager to be here.

The filmmakers are also pleased with their excellent plans. The most important of the arts constantly turns to the picturesque elements of the village named after an ancient feudal dynasty. Moreover, we are not just talking about documentaries. Although, unstaged shots, complemented by the charm of spontaneity, are sometimes much brighter than the planned moments on film. Many directors, recalling the voyage here, showered themselves with countless compliments. Starting praise from sunsets, they preferred not to stop the flight of delight. The legendary Andrei Mironov once spoke about his visit to Loo and proclaimed the Sochi sister city “if not the eighth, then the ninth wonder of the world.”

Today, only the local elders remind of the Soviet era, telling visitors about fragments from a bygone era. At the moment, the aura of filming the film “Be My Husband” is significantly different from the realities of that time. Ultra-modern complexes do not in any way coincide with the romance of “thrown march in the role of a savage.” Socialist service now acts as an exotic inclusion, arising solely at the will of the customer. It cannot be denied that there are quite a lot of consumers of the services described above. The desire to return to the era of the “red empire” for a few days does not leave the minds of the pilgrims. Of course, this option is more typical of the older generation, but among young “comrades” it is becoming very common.

Walking trip

It’s no wonder that these regions appeal to fans of hiking. Adventures at the foot of the river “serpentine” are like an echo of something primeval. Excursions from the future to the past, from elite cottages to virgin territories. Watching the beat of the waves, a person loses touch with reality, silently looking at the unconquered elements. A slight hint of extreme reminiscent of the improvisation of a mysterious pond. Calm gives way to playful rebellion. The audience watches in fascination the theatrical performance, where there is no predictable ending.

Let us add that the role of the reserve does not mean the atmosphere of a hopeless outback. Embedded in the perimeter between Adler and the main metropolis (we are talking about Sochi again), Loo cannot be accused of being on the outskirts of progress. Rather, on the contrary, the patrimony of the Krasnodar Territory adopts all the best from nearby municipalities. Legal subtleties (in terms of belonging to certain borders) made a small area part of a global trend. It must be admitted that the leadership (both local and other authorities) skillfully takes advantage of the situation, but they are not going to give up their touching individuality. Cherishing originality, they enrich the paradise with hotel and health facilities.

Of course, those who are eager to improve their physical and moral condition will not be overtaken by grief. A wide range of offers (concerning both medical dogma and sanatorium recovery) will allow you to choose the most acceptable option. Stories about the healing properties of the local air are passed on from mouth to mouth. The won reputation obliges you to a lot and completely eliminates any catch. “New buildings” are focused on a high standard, providing visitors with the best examples of service.

The holidays don't end!

Like many inhabitants of the Sochi hinterland, Loo also practices winter tourism. Representatives of the hotel business periodically reject seasonal forms of recreation. Open to the year-round influx of holidaymakers, businessmen are trying to apply good practices. Outdoor beaches are replaced by swimming pools, simulating the summer excitement of vacationers. Water fun and Celsius temperatures make you forget about weather forecasts and cloudy weather outside.

However, the Black Sea welcomes competition. The start of the hot season immediately leads to large-scale movements of citizens. Loo is in the lead here. Sometimes people who were planning to visit foreign resorts, after becoming familiar with the domestic market, changed their intentions. Not every popular island in the ocean can offer similar conditions. The railway interchange, reasonable prices for apartments, a variety of leisure activities and the absolute uniqueness of the location allow Loo to stand apart both at the domestic and international level.

The resorts of the Krasnodar region have always been popular among Russians. And this is easily explained - holidays in your own country, beautiful nature and favorable climate, a variety of accommodation and leisure options. One of the most visited resorts in the region is the city of Sochi and its surroundings, in particular the village of Loo. The tourist infrastructure here is developing year after year, but even today this settlement is not inferior to many other resort towns. What sights of Loo should you definitely see with your own eyes, and how to have fun during your summer vacation in this village?

General information about the resort

Loo is located on the territory of the Caucasus Nature Reserve and Sochi National Park. Usually this settlement is called a village, but in fact it is a tourist microdistrict of the city of Sochi. People have lived in these places since ancient times, but the settlement owes its name to a noble family of feudal lords of Abaza origin - Low, or Lau. Unfortunately, only some ancient sights of Loo have survived to this day. Photos describing these objects can be found in our article. Today the village has a cozy atmosphere and more affordable prices than in Sochi. At the same time, there is enough entertainment and conditions for organizing a wide variety of leisure activities. The sights of Loo are also interesting, among which there are objects to suit every taste.

Mysteries of history and creations of modern masters

There is a landmark in Loo that is unique for the entire Krasnodar region - the ruins of a medieval temple. Presumably, this grandiose structure was erected in the 8th-9th centuries. The temple was Abkhaz-Alan, and throughout the history of its existence it was destroyed more than once and then restored again. The last time the ruins were given a second life was in the 15th century, turning the temple into a fortress. But the defensive structure was also destroyed over time. Today tourists can only see fragments of the walls and foundation, but even in this state the structure is striking in its scale. The thing is that the thickness of the masonry is about a meter, and according to the reviews of many people who visited this place, it has a very special energy. In the village itself there is a modern functioning church, consecrated in honor of Simon the Canaanite Apostle. Another interesting attraction in the vicinity of Loo is the inscription “Lenin”, planted with trees for the centenary anniversary of the leader. Among the modern attractions, the monument dedicated to the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War also deserves attention.

Natural attractions of Loo: photos with descriptions

There are many natural attractions in the vicinity of the tourist area. These are waterfalls and dolmens - special stone structures that have mystical powers. There is still debate among scientists about the methods and purpose of creating these objects. The most common versions are that dolmens are ancient necropolises of priests and noble people or ritual stones for performing various rituals. Be that as it may, many tourists want to see ancient structures with their own eyes. It is believed that in such places you can make wishes or ask for relief from illnesses. The natural attractions of Loo are known far beyond the village itself; you can visit them as part of a tourist group with a guide, which will make it much easier for vacationers to find a specific place and organize a trip.

Water park "AquaLoo"

The village of Loo has its own water park, which is one of the largest in Russia. “AquaLoo” is located at: Dekabristov Street, building 78B. However, thanks to the high multi-colored slides, it can be seen from afar and is almost impossible not to find. The water park features 8 slides, a wave pool, a children's pool and saunas. The complex operates on an all-inclusive basis - guests purchase a ticket for the whole day without time limits, the price already includes a variety of drinks and lunch. There is also a hotel at the water park where anyone can stay. The complex operates year-round; many vacationers prefer to come here out of season, when there are fewer tourists and it is much more convenient to see all the sights of Loo.

Entertainment for tourists

The beaches in Loo are pebbly; there are several separate, well-equipped areas for swimming. It is quite clean, there are showers and changing cabins, there are lifeguard posts, there are also small cafes and tents where you can buy drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. In Loo, attractions and entertainment await you at every turn. On many beaches you can take souvenir photos with exotic animals or in interesting costumes; traditional entertainment is also available - banana rides, catamarans, jet skis, parachute flights and many other attractions. There are a lot of nightclubs in Loo, and many cafes and bars hold discos right on the beaches in the evenings. Another entertainment for tourists is amusement parks, where you can have fun with the whole family.

Finding accommodation in this resort area is not difficult. These include hotels of varying levels of comfort, rental housing offers from private individuals, as well as boarding houses and sanatoriums. It is worth noting that not everyone decides to stay in Loo for the cultural program. The attractions, photos of which you can see in our article, are for many only a pleasant bonus for a vacation at sea. Many tourists just want to relax, live for a week in a new pleasant place without fuss, or, on the contrary, get a lot of impressions and emotions in a matter of days. The village has a well-developed infrastructure; there are a wide variety of shops and catering establishments - from quite decent restaurants to bistros. As for trips to neighboring cities, travel agencies and travel agencies are waiting for visitors at every turn with such offers. During one-day excursions you can see not only the sights of Loo and the surrounding area, but also visit Sochi or Adler. Also popular are one-day or overnight trips to Abkhazia, hiking in natural areas, and long horseback rides.

Just 18 km from the center of Sochi lies the cozy resort village of Loo - an ideal place for all those who prefer a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle. The resort has gained such wide popularity due to its favorable location and picturesque nature. Loo's population is about 10,000 people, but during the high season this number increases significantly. It is worth noting that the quality of recreation in Loo is practically in no way inferior to Sochi and Adler, while the prices here are significantly lower. If you want to be in the epicenter of the noisy resort life of neighboring cities, getting to them will not be the slightest difficulty.

One of the advantages of this resort village is that it is located along the coastline, so almost all Loo hotels are located by the sea, which allows you to enjoy the sea views at any time of the day. Loo's guests are mainly family vacationers; elderly people who value peace and comfort also stay here. There are no less young people here, since the resort has everything you need for a good holiday.

When you go to relax in Loo, you will find long, clean beaches with stunningly beautiful nature, everything you need for recovery in sanatoriums and boarding houses, and, of course, all kinds of entertainment. If we talk in more detail about the beaches, they break all records in terms of length, as well as quality of recreation. There is everything here, from changing cabins to sun loungers, umbrellas and water attractions. The central beach of Loo is a kind of calling card of the resort. Moreover, it is considered one of the best in the entire Greater Sochi. At the entrance to the beach there is a toilet, there are also showers, changing cabins, hydromassage, wooden paths are laid along the beach directly to the water so that you don’t have to walk on hot pebbles in the hottest sunshine. The lively Loo embankment with numerous cafes, bars, and nightclubs is within walking distance. There is a diving club and a lifeguard station on the beach.

You can have a snack and a full lunch both in the cafe on the embankment and on the beach itself, along which there are vendors offering sweets, as well as soft drinks and light snacks. Continent Beach is an ideal option for all those who relax in the boathouses or private sector nearby. The pebbles here are slightly larger than on the aforementioned central beach, there are cabanas, water activities, and cafes and bars nearby. It is worth noting that there are much fewer people here, so if you like to relax in a quieter place, welcome to Continent Beach! Next to it is the Dolphin beach, the main advantage of which is the availability of access for cars. The beach is pebble with small sandy islands, its width is more than 50 meters and its length is more than 600 meters. Please note that there are no changing rooms here, but the beach is clean, it is cleaned daily and there are trash bins everywhere. Guests can rent sun loungers and umbrellas, go on water rides and much more. The next beach is “Wild” - there are not many vacationers here, the atmosphere is calm and most conducive to relaxation, and there are more locals here than tourists. It is followed by a nudist beach, it is pebbly, there are no cafes or shops, in general, it is a secluded place, as required by its specificity. The Magadan beach is the property of the sanatorium of the same name, but anyone can get here for free. It is located 1 km from the Central Beach and is the longest (about 100 meters) on the Loo coast. The board at the entrance to the beach constantly updates information on water and air temperature; there is a rental point for sun loungers, umbrellas, catamarans and, of course, all kinds of water activities. The Mountain Air beach is located at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains, it is pebbly and very comfortable - there are changing rooms, rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, a children's playground, as well as cafes, canteens and shops nearby.

general information

Loo, by municipal standards, is just one of the microdistricts of Sochi. Although, in terms of its size, this settlement, at a minimum, can lay claim to the title of an urban-type settlement. About 10,000 people live here, which is much more than in other coastal villages. Being part of the protected area of the Sochi Park, the village is devoid of any industrial facilities, which gives it an advantage even compared to Sochi. But the infrastructure of service and entertainment is in no way inferior to the resort capital of Russia. Every year more than a million people come to Loo on vacation, especially since the season here does not stop even in winter.

The history of the village dates back to the 8th century. This is evidenced by the ruins of the Abkhaz-Alan temple, which have survived to this day. For a long time, the territory was famous as a center of the slave trade on the coast. At that time, the largest Abkhazian feudal clan Lau (Low), who belonged to the family of King Leon, the founder of the Abkhazian kingdom, ruled here. The village became Russian in 1864, after its conquest during the Caucasian campaign.

What to do on holiday in Loo

Loo, like neighboring Sochi, gives its guests the opportunity to spend their free time very richly. And this, as we understand, is 24 hours a day. Where you will definitely end up is at the AquaLoo water park. The largest, and most importantly, year-round complex of water attractions will not leave either children or adults indifferent.

If you want to see what the Real Caucasus is like, climb Mount Fisht. These are three peaks, up to 2800m high, located 37 km from the coast, but the excursion there is worth it. Moreover, Fisht is the main attraction of the Sochi National Park.

On the way to Fisht, stop by the “Paradise Delight” waterfall in the Loo River valley. There are not only excellent landscapes here, but also a reconstructed and functioning mill, as well as a whole museum that will tell you about the life of local residents since the Middle Ages.

Beaches

There are a lot of beaches in Loo. This is perhaps the main reason for the popularity of the village. They stretch for more than 6 km, giving the opportunity to choose the most optimal option, both in terms of location to the place of residence and conditions. The most popular is Central Beach. It is about 90m wide, covered with small pebbles, sometimes turning into sand. The beach has a very well-developed infrastructure, ranging from a two-tier pier to nightclubs right on the coast. About a kilometer away is one of the most famous wild beaches of Sochi. “Wildness” lies in the absence of noisy entertainment. Otherwise, the beach is fully landscaped and constantly cleaned.

Latest reviews about holidays in Loo

This is the fifth time I’ve been relaxing in the Sura guest house, with Uncle Norik and Aunt Ira, my vacation ends in a couple of days and again there are tears in my eyes, I’ll be looking forward to a whole year to come back here again, to this wonderful house, the owners greet me and see me off How are your family, they always ask how are you? and they will advise, and Uncle Norik always drove me from the sea, all you have to do is call, I already miss you

Have a nice holiday everyone. Very nice hosts, we had an early arrival, at 4 am, they met us, waited by the train, and took us to the place. In the morning the hostess took us to show the beach. The distance to the beach is as written. The room is cozy, clean, good view from the window. There are shops nearby. very quiet. Recommend.

I liked everything very much. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, equipped with: TV, refrigerator, wardrobe, bedside table and more. Service at the highest level, tidy rooms and new linen. The prices are excellent and reasonable. The son is delighted with the animals: dogs, Lord and Gerda, and kittens, Korzhik, Tigger and Paws. The yard is very large and clean, it contains: a children's playground, 2 gazebos, a barbecue, a mountain stream and many flowers. Hosts: Norik and Irina are very kind and hospitable. And the kids, Leo and Lera, are very cute and cheerful. If we go to Loo next year, then only to the Sura Guest House, to Norik and Irina.

We rested for a week and for the first time reluctantly said goodbye to the place - LOO and our place of residence “House over Aqualoo”... The hospitable host received us 12 hours earlier than our planned arrival, while over the phone he gave recommendations on how to choose the right road... offered the services of a taxi driver (with whom We left later for the railway station for “kopecks.”) While in the house we didn’t feel “like a guest.” Absolutely everything is provided for a comfortable stay and relaxation. There are two spacious kitchens with everything you need in sufficient quantities, refrigerators. We especially remember one kitchen, which is located on the terrace overlooking the sea, we occupied it from the first day... Downstairs in the local area there is a barbecue (both barbecue and firewood are provided free of charge - for the first time since we vacationed in different places, such a service is free), a barbecue and a gazebo... again overlooking the sea. From the room you can see the sea in full view, the views are gorgeous! We will definitely come back to you again!!! Thank you, Alexander Vladimirovich! Prosperity to you and the implementation of your most daring ideas!

We stayed at the Sura guest house for the first time. I liked everything very much, the location is very good, everything is close. Quiet place. It's a 7-minute walk to the sea, there are many good restaurants nearby, shops, a bank, everything is within walking distance. We took a double room on the ground floor, a separate entrance, in the room there was a bed, bedside table, wardrobe, TV, refrigerator, air conditioning, toilet and shower. The rooms are very cozy and clean. There is a large kitchen for self-catering, which has all the necessary utensils. The owners are very nice people, they meet you and accompany you to the station, they will always help and advise. Irina met, showed and told everything. Special thanks to Norik for the excursion, which was very fun. We are very glad that we vacationed in Sura, and our only regret is that we came for only 7 days. Like most people, before going on vacation to Sura, we read reviews, which were all positive, and only on one site there was not a single good review, which surprised us and gave us doubts. And when we spent our holiday in Sura, we realized that all these reviews were nonsense. You shouldn’t believe the reviews written on the “I want to go to the south” website, there’s nothing wrong with it! Norik told us that such reviews began to be written on the site after he refused to cooperate with them. Therefore, do not believe the bad reviews about Sura, we have personally seen that this is a wonderful place to relax. Irina and Norik, thank you very much for everything. Now if we go to Loo, it will only be to see you.

Loo: history, geography, population

The history of the village of Loo as a settlement began many centuries ago. This is evidenced by the remains of a Byzantine temple built in the 8th-9th centuries, found in the vicinity of Loo. Today, these ruins are one of the local attractions, so you should definitely go there on an excursion during your vacation.

There is a period in the history of the settlement during which this area was uninhabited - after the end of the Caucasian War in 1864, the Abkhazians, who had inhabited this territory since ancient times, not wanting to obey the Russian emperor, left the Loo River valley, leaving the area deserted. Russians, Armenians and Greeks began to live en masse in Loo only in the second half of the 19th century, when this territory became the property of the Russian Empire. Until this time, Shapsugs, Abazas and Ubykhs lived here. By the way, the resort village owes its name to one of the Abaza princely families. The Loovs had their largest estate here until the 14th century.

At different times, Loo was part of the Adler and Lazarevsky districts. Today the village is one of the microdistricts of Greater Sochi, but has its own infrastructure and all socially significant facilities.

Loo has a good location, because the village stretches along the Black Sea coast just two dozen kilometers from the city of Sochi. The advantage of the village is its elongation along the sea, which ensures the proximity of all its areas to the beaches. The terrain in Loo is hilly, the perimeter of the village is limited by mountain ranges. Summer here is long - about six months, and winter is mild and warm with a lot of precipitation.

No more than 10 thousand people live permanently in the village, but at the height of the summer season this figure increases significantly, because tourists from all over Russia and the CIS countries come to relax in Loo.

Entertainment Loo

Vacationers in Loo will always have something to do on vacation - there is plenty of entertainment here. All areas of Loo are equally good for a beach holiday, but those who like to have an active and fun time should still choose the center of the village as their place of residence - this is where all the main infrastructure of the village is concentrated, there are many cafes, shops and nightclubs.

What to visit in Loo?

In Loo you can go horseback riding in the surrounding area or along the coast. Jeep riding is another favorite way for tourists to spend time on vacation. Vacationers are also everywhere offered to take an excursion to a Byzantine temple or take part in a walk along the mountain slopes, as well as rafting on a mountain river.

It is definitely worth visiting the Paradise Delight waterfall, where you can take very beautiful photographs to commemorate your vacation against the backdrop of the restored mill and the majestic nature of the Caucasus Mountains.

Young people prefer a party holiday, and for this purpose in Loo there are several night clubs with incendiary discos until the morning. In summer you can dance until dawn on the open-air beach.

Adults and children will also appreciate the local AquaLoo water park, where you can soak in a pool with mineral or warm sea water, go down the slides, visit a crocodile farm, have a snack in a cafe or have a hearty lunch in one of the restaurants of the complex.

How to get to Loo

What is the cheapest way to get to Loo? Of course, by train! There is a railway station in the village, through which a lot of passenger trains pass. But, if the departure point is far from the Krasnodar Territory, the trip can take a very long time, up to several days. In this case, it would be more advisable to buy a plane ticket to Adler, and from there you can transfer to a bus or train to Loo.

Many tourists prefer to travel by private car - it’s very convenient! All roads in the region, including those leading to Loo, are well-paved, but the route goes through several passes, so drivers should be extremely careful.
