Where is the best place for a single girl to go on vacation? Where can a girl go on holiday? How to relax alone at sea

Travel is always good. Especially when you don't have to coordinate your plans with other people and look for compromises. It’s even better when you can go on a budget to where you’ve long wanted, without having to explain why you need to go to this particular country or city right now.

Do you know when all this is possible? When you travel alone.

Why traveling alone is a great idea

You have five reasons for this:

  1. You can fly away as soon as possible. There is no need to check schedules with friends, trying to find a date when it will definitely be convenient for everyone (in three months, for example). Everything becomes much simpler: you see a promotion and fly away.
  2. Tickets will be cheaper. If tickets are on sale, then it can only apply to one seat, and the rest will go at full price. Plus, the larger the company, the less likely it is that you will all fly on the same low-cost flight.
  3. You can choose a trip with the craziest transfers: no one will whine that they want to get to their destination quickly and don’t care about the eight-hour transfer in Prague with the possibility of going into the city.
  4. No shame: if you want to sleep all day in your room, you sleep in your room, without feeling guilty for a “seal” vacation. If you want to have breakfast with tequila and chips, you have every right to do so without judgment from the outside. And you don’t need to prove to anyone the historical importance of the light bulb museum that you’ve been dreaming of visiting since third grade.
  5. If you are traveling somewhere alone, you can find yourself a new company (and hide from it if something happens, and not fight simply because you live in the same room and are a little tired of each other).

How to travel alone and not worry

1. Luggage

It is clear that if you are going for one weekend, then there is no point in taking a huge suitcase with you. But, surprise, even on a two-week trip you don’t really need it. For warm countries(like Israel, Spain or Italy) and summer trips, everything you need will fit into a good backpack. Evaluate your wardrobe and choose universal items that will give you many options for combinations. Sneakers can be worn with anything.

  • Important: if you plan to take alcohol and delicacies with you, it is better to buy a return ticket with luggage and choose a stronger backpack.
  • A string bag will fit into the most crowded backpack and will save you from having to lay out all your things over and over again in order to walk around the city.

2. Finance

Look in advance at how things are with plastic cards in the country you plan to travel to. If in Finland cards are accepted almost anywhere, then in Germany there are serious problems with this. Depending on this, determine the amount of cash you will take with you. Be sure to leave a reserve on the card, which can be withdrawn in case of force majeure. It’s better to pay a withdrawal fee than to lose your entire budget at once.

3. Housing

When it comes to renting hotels and apartments when traveling alone, things are the worst. It is clear that for two people you can rent a separate room for the price of a bed in a hostel, and for 3+ people you can rent an apartment on Airbnb for the same price. But solo travelers have an increased chance of staying for free with someone local via Couchsurfing.

  • If you are embarrassed by the prospect of living in an apartment with a single man, just select the “Women Only” filter. It's the same with age.
  • Be sure to read the reviews - this way you can find out whether the owner of the apartment is harassing guests and whether previous travelers have had any “difficulties” with him.
  • It is best to look for accommodation a week or two before your trip. This way, the owner of the apartment will definitely be confident in his plans and will be able to immediately say whether he will accept you.
  • Don't be shy about asking for a tour - locals are usually happy to show off their favorite restaurants and bars to visitors. It's a nice gesture to cook something from national cuisine as a thank you.
  • The maximum length of stay for couchsurfing is three days. You can negotiate for longer, but it won’t be very polite. After all, this is a free stay, not a hotel, so there are certain boundaries.

4. Security

The main rules: do not leave your drinks unattended, use only official taxis and check in advance the areas of the city that are considered disadvantaged.

  • If you are traveling to a religious country, it is better to clarify the dress code rules in advance. You may have to leave the ultra-short shorts at home.
  • In some countries (for example, Georgia), it is better to take a ring with you to wear on your ring finger. Yes, this is not very feminist. But this slightly stupid method can save you from unnecessary questions and actions.
  • Write down the embassy number in case you lose your passport. To do this, you should take photographs of all important documents and save them somewhere away in the cloud (but so that you always have access from any device).
  • In southern Europe, girls are often approached with a request to sign a “petition” or “appeal.” This way you can lose your last big cash or all your contents at once.

We asked three questions to three girls who travel alone for different reasons and in different ways.

  1. Why are you traveling alone?
  2. What life hacks help you? From finding hotels and activities to basic security.
  3. Three ideal places for traveling alone?

Travels by car, maximum for one trip - about 25,000 kilometers.

Why are you traveling alone?

Traveling with just yourself is an opportunity to plan your vacation 100% the way you want. Some people like to go to museums in new places, some like architecture, some like zoos, some like food (like me). A single long-distance driving trip is a kind of meditation and an opportunity to sort out your thoughts. While you are busy with mechanical work (driving), and outside the window there are changing beautiful landscapes, you can think about what in everyday life you don’t have enough time for in the hustle and bustle. And you don't need a travel companion here.

  • I search for all hotels through Booking. Even small hotels in the Amur region are marked there.
  • The site drom.ru and LiveJournal helped me find entertainment. I entered a query, for example, the Irkutsk-Yakutsk road, and from the reports of people who passed this route, one could read not only about the pitfalls of the route, but also about interesting places.
  • If you are going to go somewhere for the first time, look for the latest reports from other travelers so that you know where a grader will overtake you, which city is better to drive through the bypass and at what kilometer to make a small detour away from the highway so that wonderful landscapes will open up before you. its beauty of the place.
  1. It’s not at all boring to be alone in Karelia and on Kola Peninsula. The M-18 “Kola” highway is of excellent quality and is easy to drive along. Having passed through it all, you will see endless forests, Lake Onega, Belomorkanal (despite its scary story it is amazing a nice place), ancient wooden churches, waterfalls, raging rivers, marble canyons. And then the taiga will turn into endless tundra before your eyes, you will cross the Arctic Circle and you can see the Barents Sea, which flows into the Arctic Ocean. And these places are also very quiet and peaceful. An ideal place to take a break from stress and clear your head.
  2. Incredibly beautiful in Kamchatka. The best option to get there - plane. If you wish, you can rent a car, which is what I did. The federal highway here is short, about 200 kilometers, until it turns into stones, but it is very beautiful. In essence, it doesn’t matter where you are going when incredible hills and volcanoes rise on the horizon around you. You can visit hot springs (including mountain and wild ones, where you can sit in hot water right in the middle of snowy peaks for free). Not far from the City (as Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is simply called) there is access to Pacific Ocean(Khalaktyrsky beach), the Sea of Okhotsk (it is especially beautiful in the village of Oktyabrky). And at the market you can carry buckets of crabs and caviar. IN last days in Kamchatka I ate just bread, because caviar and crabs didn’t work (for six months afterwards, just the thought of them made me sick). By the way, buying a bucket of caviar is actually cheaper than a cafe or regular products.
  3. The third most beautiful place is Altai. Chuyky Trakt is included in the list of 10 most beautiful roads Russia, because in just 800 km you will meet all climatic zones: from the icy taiga to the hot steppe. And here you can try bear, deer, moral, wild boar and hare, buy shampoo made from antlers or deer blood, the most delicious honey or tea. In general, for a gastrotourist it is a paradise, and the landscapes are eye baths. I’m thinking of going there some other time, but most likely I’ll fly to Novosibirsk by plane and rent a car. With this option, the trip may well fit into a weekend tour. The places are beautiful, but the route itself is not long. 2-3 days, depending on your pace.

Travels around Russia for trials and around the world for fun

I often go on business trips. If you just want to leave somewhere from Moscow and relax, I usually go alone too: mainly because almost all my friends work, and our weekends simply don’t coincide. After the flight Moscow - Abu Dhabi - Melbourne - Hobart (almost a day, taking into account the time waiting for the plane), even a five-hour journey no longer seems so long to me. By the way, on a plane I always try to find a free row so that I can at least lie down - if there are significantly more seats than passengers, no one will forbid you from doing so. Enjoying new places alone is very easy: if the weather permits, all you need to do is take a walk in the company of good music and delicious coffee. Often on business trips I simply don’t have time for museums, bars and local sightseeing, so I try to walk around a lot to get at least some impression of the new city.

2. What life hacks help you? From finding hotels and activities to basic security.

  • As a teenager, I went to Berlin for a couple of weeks: I still remember how I filled my suitcase with clothes, thinking something like this - what if I want to wear not this dress, but another, I’d rather take both. I remember even better how my hands fell off while I was carrying this suitcase with me, so now I don’t take a lot of things with me on trips. I travel everywhere with a small, comfortable suitcase (half empty, so that there is room for some purchases).
  • Before traveling, I buy local currency in Moscow: it’s better to think about this in advance, because the exchange rate locally will obviously be less favorable. I leave about a third of the money saved for the trip on the card, just in case. By the way, many banks ask their clients to inform them about their trip in advance. If you don’t do this, if you try to pay in another country, your card may be blocked (I once in Canada, in front of a huge queue, scraped out my last change to buy myself a coffee, it was unpleasant). I keep cash and cards in different places just in case.
  • Having checked into the hotel, the first thing I do is pester the staff and ask where the nearest pharmacy and grocery store is, and also what is nearby around the clock. In response to such questions, most likely, they will give you a map, draw everything and explain it in detail - you should not neglect this, especially if you do not have mobile Internet during the trip.
  • On the subject of safety: when I travel alone, I only travel public transport or a legal taxi (all about this, by the way, can also be found out at the hotel). IN dark time For days I avoid the city outskirts and all sorts of dark places. In the spring, for example, I was in Krasnodar: my hotel was not very far from the center, but in the evening I still called a taxi because it was a long walk from the stop, and I didn’t really like the area.

3. Three ideal places to travel alone?

  1. Berlin is good at any time of the year (although if you are not a fan of the heat, then take a closer look at the local weather forecast for mid-summer).
  2. Budapest, and especially in spring!
  3. It’s also cool to travel around Russia. Of course, sometimes a plane ticket to New York is cheaper than to Kamchatka, but you don’t have to travel that far to see something new. Think about the last time you traveled further than 50-100 kilometers from the city where you live. Surely even within the region there are plenty of interesting places.

Manages to work in a dozen countries in a year

1. Why are you traveling alone?

I travel alone for several reasons, but there are two main ones. First, I often find it better, more comfortable and more interesting to travel alone than with the wrong company. Second, my lifestyle and travel do not match the lifestyle of most of my friends. I like to come somewhere for a month or two, I definitely need to devote at least two to three hours a day to work, and it’s not necessary to see everything at once, so it’s quite difficult with those who go on vacation. The paradox is that when I travel alone, I am rarely alone. I have many friends all over the world, I rarely come to places where I don’t know anyone at all, and it’s easier to meet new people alone, be it neighbors in a hostel or that same dating app.

2. What life hacks help you? From finding hotels and activities to basic security.

  • To find travel companions and companions for lunch and dinner in an unfamiliar city, I sometimes use the Hangouts function in the couchsurfing application, sometimes Tinder (no, this is not only for sex, you can also just meet different people, including the same gender). Sometimes specialized groups on Facebook help (I search using the keywords digital nomads/expats in...).
  • By the way, in such Facebook groups you can often find accommodation for a couple of months and a million different events.
  • In general, I try to find out in advance what popular routes for tourists exist in the country, keep an eye on my drinks at the bar, use Uber wherever I can, and check online reviews of the places where I’m going to stay. Well, I go on dates in crowded places :)

3. Three ideal places to travel alone?

  1. If I had to choose, then in terms of comfort level for singles I would choose Thailand and in general Southeast Asia, where you feel safe, you can always meet a bunch of the same solo travelers, and where it’s cheap enough to rent a house alone.
  2. I also like to travel alone around the Balkans (this is one of my favorite regions in the world), because it’s more interesting - stories start happening to you as soon as you leave the house.
  3. The south of Europe, where it’s just good, and if you don’t have company, you still feel good.

It’s not necessarily women, men also go on vacation alone, but I can describe it from my own experience. If you go on vacation without a man/company, then small and various negative aspects arise. Starting from waiting for the flight at the airport. Let’s say you’re flying to a resort, and before you get off to the plane, happy full families, couples happy with each other, friends with girlfriends are waiting to depart next to you, and you’re hanging around alone. Last time, when I flew to rest by the sea, I felt sad while still in the check-in line. True, in the same line I met a married couple with whom we somehow instantly and sincerely became friends. It turned out that we would be vacationing in the same hotel, and upon landing we spent time together, and it was good. Once again I went to sightseeing tour around Europe and made friends with two women who also went without company. But you’re not always so lucky, sometimes you fly alone and most You spend two weeks of vacation wearing one helmet on the beach, in a restaurant, and on excursions you ask strangers to take pictures.

When you arrive at your destination, you also face problems. They start making advances towards a young interesting girl local residents, service personnel and vacationers. This forces me to choose hotels with strict management, where employees are required to say “madam” and keep their distance under threat of dismissal. If there had been a man with me, perhaps we would have chosen a more modest hotel, and still its employees would have behaved more correctly, because I would not have been alone. The option of meeting a tourist as lonely as me on the beach and somehow brightening up each other’s trip, I personally couldn’t really put into practice. No, I met men, but either they pushed me away with active offers to go straight to the room, or at first impression they seemed adequate, but then they also began to somehow sharply claim my attention. But usually, according to observations, other vacationers do not care about single women. Both for Russians and for foreigners. The locals and hotel staff perk up. And this is not the point at all, in my opinion. The animators in the hotels also show excessive concern, maybe they feel sorry for me? Don't even know. But I could do without their care. It’s just that when you’re alone, they feel it’s their duty or something. Maybe it's hotel policy.

Then there is the problem of leaving the hotel territory if it happens in a banana republic. I understand with my mind that in Egypt I feel as safe as on a bench in front of the house. But some internal block prevents you from calmly walking around the market or going shopping. And if you go somewhere very far away, for example, I really dream of going to Cuba, then I don’t know their rules, and going out alone is quite scary. Get into a taxi, incl. Or how can you avoid going to some cabaret or club in Cuba? Who should I dance with?

Regarding the same Cuba, Dominican Republic, Maldives, etc. – these are traditionally romantic resorts, there are couples all around, but I feel restless alone. I keep postponing the trip, I hope one day to visit there with my samovar, it’s getting hot.

And if you go for a walk around the cities, you go, for example, to the Dresden Art Gallery - you are bursting with emotions, and there is no one to talk to. Unless you go online and tell your friends. But it would be better if there was someone nearby with whom we would experience these impressions together.

Why am I traveling alone? I'm not married, I'm not dating anyone. I have friends, but they don’t want to go abroad. I tried to go on vacation with my sister, but I didn’t like it, we have different rhythms and expectations from the trip, so we returned dissatisfied with each other. I once traveled to Europe in economy style (everyone made the reservations themselves, lived in apartments and cheap hotels, traveled OT, not a taxi) with an unfamiliar, but decent young man who was suitable as a travel companion. He took me on a steep roller coaster ride like Sivka. I am against such running around and strange quirks like “Take a picture of me from 105 angles in front of this historical brick.”

I’ve tried services like websites about finding travel companions, but the idea of going somewhere with a complete stranger and promising him or her company in advance (entertaining, listening, going on excursions together, adjusting the regime to the interests of the fellow traveler) bothers me. Surely this option is not so bad, but it’s somehow difficult for me to decide. Suddenly we get tired of each other. There is probably some way to competently and effectively filter such advertisements (and compose your own in such a way that there are people with whom you are on the same wavelength).

This summer there is also an option to go to the sea alone. I would like to come to the point of accepting the situation as it is and seeing the positives in it. Sincerely. Those. I understand them: no one bothers you, you get up when it’s convenient, relax, you can wander around the shops for as long as you like, forget about everything and restore your strength. But sometimes boredom overcomes. At least stay home and don’t go anywhere. But still I want to warm up and change the environment.

I'm asking for the "free discussion" tag. Maybe readers will share their experience on how best to organize such trips so that they leave pleasant memories. What do you think when you meet singles on vacation? In general, I welcome any comments.

Do you want to go on vacation, but don’t have anyone to take with you? Everyone around is busy with their own affairs, while the soul demands new impressions and a change of scenery? There is no need to deny yourself travel. the site has prepared a list of places where you can have a great time alone without worrying about your safety.

In fact, all the arguments that the girl faces danger at every step are completely groundless. There are many places where it is better to go alone, without the company of a chatty girlfriend or a jealous boyfriend.

Rhodes Island: endless parties and club culture

Do you dream of meeting muscular guys in a club and then dancing with them all night? This is possible on greek island Rhodes. People who are bored with monotonous museums, ruins, and hills will have a great time here.

There are many free beaches here. From the west the island is washed by the Mediterranean, and from the east by the Aegean sea. After swimming to your heart's content and getting a golden tan, you can go to Falikari - the center of youth club culture, where parties with great music and unbridled fun reign.

Those who like a quiet pastime should visit the Acropolis of Athena of Lindos, about 5,000 years old. The archaeological reserve is also of interest to many tourists. Here you can find a Dorian fountain, which was built in the 6th century BC, as well as monuments from the Duchy period and Byzantine times.

Barbados: an earthly paradise

Many people call Barbados an earthly paradise. A lonely girl can be accompanied here by tourists from Western Europe or the US who love to visit the island. Barbados is one of the colonies of Great Britain, and therefore do not be surprised if you come across English traditions - strict morality (no nudists on the beach, etc.), cricket, tea drinking.

Swimming and sunbathers will appreciate the clear blue water and pink sand beaches. You can buy high-quality rum on the island. It has a milder taste than Jamaican. It is also worth tasting flying fish dishes.

Important: Russian residents do not need a visa to enter the island.

Forward to adventure

For those who are tired of the usual tourist routes, a perfect holiday in Halong (Vietnam). You can get a lot here unforgettable impressions, have a good rest and forget about the hustle and bustle. Prices in Vietnam are quite affordable. Therefore, for a reasonable fee you will be able to scuba dive and explore the depths of the sea. Taking a flashlight with you, you can go explore the mountain caves on your own. The best way to end a stormy day is with a trip to the Top Disco club, or dinner at one of the restaurants in Ha Long.

Don't like Asia? Then feel free to go to Mexico. One of the world's best resorts is the city of Cancun. It is located between Nichupte Lagoon and Caribbean Sea. The water and beaches here are always clean and well-groomed. There are themed disco bars at every turn in Cancun. Chichen Itza is located nearby - ancient city on the planet, founded by the Indians over 3400 years ago. There are still pyramids, altars for offering sacrifices and temples here.

Shopping in Europe

It's hard to find a girl who wouldn't like to buy some fashionable items. EU countries are completely safe for single women. In summer and winter, boutiques organize pleasant sales. Is it interesting to go to such events with a guy? Hardly. Not every man can handle numerous shopping trips and long waits near fitting rooms. The situation with a friend is no better - you may like the same dress or handbag. Millions of women have tried shopping alone and were satisfied.

Excellent sales begin on the 20th of May in Munich (Germany). They end in mid-late August. The start of winter discounts should be expected at the end of November or beginning of March. At first, the markdown is about 30 percent; closer to the middle of sales, discounts often reach 50 percent (for some products 70-90 percent). In Germany you can buy women's, men's and children's clothing, as well as high quality shoes.

In the middle of summer and winter you can catch the sales season in Spain. In summer, discounts apply to “Spring-Summer” products, in the winter season - “Autumn-Winter”. The best places to shop are in Murcia, Catalonia, Castilla de Leon, Madrid, Andalusia and Extremadura. When visiting Spain, you cannot miss Barcelona. This is a magnificent city with unique architecture. Don't forget to stop by the legendary food market. Fresh fruits from all over the world, sweets and a variety of meat delicacies are sold here. Wealthy ladies can eat at the Ca L'Isidre restaurant, where the king often visits. Spanish cuisine is gentle on the female figure. All dishes are prepared from fresh ingredients and olive spices. Delicious.

Eat free time in July or January? Then Italy is waiting for you - the country that sets world fashion. Sales here last approximately 2 months. It's not uncommon to find brand name products at discounts of up to 70 percent. On the counter you can find leather goods, outerwear, scarves, hats, and jewelry. Best shopping usually in Milan, Rome and Rimini. In provincial cities it is more difficult to find quality goods.

Tochka- mira. ru does not recommend going shopping at the end of the sales period. At this time, the discounts are the greatest, but there is very little product left.

Time for excursions and beach holidays

Italy

Do you like novels about medieval knights? Now you can see their habitat with your own eyes. In Western Europe there are many castles and other objects that have come to us from the Middle Ages. Great place for recreation is Lake Garda, located in Italy. Around you can find many ancient buildings, surrounded by the Alps, clean and cozy towns. This area is always calm and peaceful. Also, a large number of English and Germans vacation here - an opportunity to meet interesting people.

It is not necessary to use excursion programs. You can explore the sights on your own.

Israel

Israel is an ideal country for beach and excursion holiday, as well as pilgrimages. There are many natural and historical attractions here. Jerusalem contains a large number of holy places - the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Dear, Western Wall, etc. The best beaches can be found in Netanya. The city where Jesus grew up and spent his youth is Nazareth. All of them are worthy of special attention and deserve a visit.

In Israel you can put your thoughts and feelings in order, recharge with unique energy and even find the purpose of life. And, of course, you cannot visit this country without swimming in the Dead Sea, where it is impossible to drown. It’s worth trying the local cuisine here and getting to know the culture and Jewish traditions better.

Temporary loneliness and travel are an extra opportunity to be with yourself. It gives time to think carefully, unwind, forget about worries and take a break from society. You just need to choose the direction you like, and then go on an adventure.

Do you want to relax, but have no one to take with you on your trip? Don’t be discouraged, because today there are many opportunities to have a wonderful and safe time away from home alone.

What type of holiday should you choose?

In order for a girl to go on vacation alone without worrying about safety during the trip, it is better to choose the following types of recreation:

  • Sea/ocean/river cruise. Its advantage is that the travel agency will develop for you the most interesting route, and you won't have to worry about searching for attractions. In addition, you will always be accompanied by guides and curators. During independent walks, simply do not go to remote corners of cities - stick to standard routes for tourists. In addition, the ship will provide you with excellent conditions for relaxation. Will always be nearby health care and other qualified service personnel.
  • Bus tours. This type of recreation is similar to that described above: you will be accompanied, comfortable and safe conditions for spending time will be created for you.
  • Special tours for women. Today many authoritative travel companies offer tours for female travelers. The peculiarity of such offers is their increased care for clients. In particular, ladies are required to be provided with a transfer and placed in a special hotel where only women live (or on a special floor for women in a regular hotel). They also often offer a list of entertainment designed for women’s preferences: shopping, visiting best beaches, SPA, etc.
  • Sanatoriums/SPA resorts. An excellent opportunity to improve your health and spend time in complete comfort and safety. Most visitors are married couples (often with children) or independent travelers, and therefore the risk of getting into some dangerous situation is minimal.

Which countries should you choose to visit?

When deciding where to go on vacation for a girl alone, it is better to choose, first of all, the countries of Western Europe. In addition, it is worth paying attention to some other states that are famous for their calm atmosphere and friendliness, respect for tourists of any gender.

  • France, Spain, Italy, Germany. Civilized states that offer the greatest opportunities for an amazing holiday. You will be impressed by the local beauty, the level of service in fashionable restaurants and boutiques, and countless legendary attractions.
  • Bulgaria, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Croatia. CIS countries, which are also very popular due to affordable prices and a pleasant atmosphere of calm and relaxation.
