Cheese rocks in the movies

A 34-second episode of the film “Treasure Island” was filmed in Cheese Rocks, 1971, film studio named after. M. Gorky.

How to get there?

Rock chaos Tuzlukh is located at the entrance to the village of Malorechenskoye after the sign, from the side of Solnechnogorskoye, near the sea. It is not visible from the public beach, since it is located immediately behind the beach of the Moskovsky boarding house. You can get to Cheese Rock through this beach, or you can get there by a roundabout route, through the top.

Cheese rocks are the ultimate dream of the mustachioed mouse Roquefort from the well-known children's cartoon. But neither he nor anyone else will be able to enjoy them, because this is a stone covered with a pattern, like holes in a fragrant fermented milk product.

The picturesque chaos is located in the village of Malorechenskoye, Alushta district, and attracts crowds of tourists with its unusualness. Adding to its popularity is the opportunity to swim in the clear water of the Bay of Love against the backdrop of an object the likes of which you will not find anywhere else in Crimea.

Peculiarities

The rocky chaos is composed of quartzite sandstones, on which traces of typical honeycomb weathering appeared from the sea. Small depressions, almost circular in shape and of varying sizes, cover the body of the stone walls and resemble holes in a salt shaker. This is where the Turkic name of the massif came from – Tuzlukh (salt shaker).

The territory, including the object and coastal waters, is a protected natural monument of local importance. Only one of the presented rocks has a characteristic “cheesy” appearance. It is very convenient to jump into the water from it. It is quite possible to sit comfortably and sunbathe.

Divers also use cobblestones located nearby in the water, similar to islands, as springboards. Everyone tries to visit the grotto in Blue Bay. It is also called the Bay of Love, but not so often. This was relevant when silence reigned here and couples could have privacy. Now the romance has moved to the bay of the same name - near the village of Rybachye.

Legends

An amazingly beautiful legend hovers over the Cheese Rocks. It tells about the times when the world was ruled by gods who sat on Olympus and often interfered in the affairs of mere mortals. So one spark of a dispute that arose in heaven burned out the fates of several people.

Hera, the wife of Zeus, disliked Aphrodite and Apollo for their beauty, youth and arrogance and decided to punish them. At this time, in the town of Mikropotamos (modern Malorechenskoye) two babies were born: a boy and a girl. They were named Apollonius and Apollonia. When they became boys and girls, everyone noted that they had no equal in beauty. And the beautiful young people fell in love with each other and lived peacefully, practicing pottery.

But here’s the problem: people’s rumors began to echo that the couple was superior in appearance to Aphrodite and Apollo themselves. Then the proud gods decided to check whether this was true or not. Seeing their rivals, they fell in love with them: Aphrodite with Apollonius, and Apollo with Apollonia (all arranged by Hera), but the commoners did not reciprocate their feelings. Then the wounded god stole Apollonia and hid her from her beloved for several years. She even bore him a son, but she continued to wait for the moment to escape. And she succeeded.

The enraged god overtook his wife and child near the Cheese Rocks (which he himself had previously created as a patron of art) already in the arms of Apollonius. Together with Aphrodite, they turned the once ideal massif into stone chaos, and people into cobblestones.

How to get there

Getting to Tuzlukh is very easy: if you come from Solnechnogorskoye, it will be at the entrance to the village of Malorechenskoye, right behind the sign. The “salt shaker” cannot be seen from the public beach, as it is hidden behind a part of the shore that belongs to the “Moskovsky” boarding house. You need to walk past it or go around it and use the descent from above.
