What do I want to see and where to go. Marble caves of Chile Chico. Prekostolen and Vøringsfossen waterfall

Today I'm in a little dreamy mood, so I'll share with you the cities and places that I really want to visit. Not now and not any time soon, and someday in the distant, distant future :) All these places are completely different, they have only one thing in common - each of them found an incredible response in my heart.

Since I have never seen these places, I am talking about them based on my inner feelings and information I once read/saw on the Internet. If someone has already been there, please share your impressions of what you saw.

Give free rein to your thoughts and emotions. The more calm and relaxed you are, the more you will be able to appreciate the aesthetics of the works that surround you and the thoughts and emotions they evoke in you. If the work gives you a feeling of peace or pleasure, If it touches you, why hold back your tears? I cried a lot when I discovered the dramatic works of Sey Tombly, the "very specific universe of Louise Bourgeois" and the incredible power that emerges from Rodin's sculptures.

A work of art is a mystery. Too many people visit museums mechanically. However, art can provoke many questions. What the artist wanted to express with this work. What emotions does this work create? If a work attracts your attention, give it more time, try to decipher it, understand it.

Marble caves of Chile Chico

I came across this attraction while reading about Patagonia. On the border of Chile and Argentina is located one of the most fabulous creations of nature - the Marble Caves. The blue-blue rocks that playfully shimmer in the crystal waters of the lake struck me with their beauty even from the picture. By the way, despite the name, the walls of the caves consist made of limestone, not marble. But perhaps somewhere in the depths you can find deposits of real marble.

The opening scene of Dario Argento's Stendhal Syndrome, where the character becomes dizzy when she sees works of art of great beauty. To read or not to read the documentation? It totally depends on your personality. Some people like to know everything about the artists and works they see, which of course takes more time, while others prefer to focus on the works without worrying too much about contextual information. Let your eyes guide you and allow yourself to be carried away by the works as you visit - don't feel obligated to follow a predetermined plan.

Cape Town

Well, many people want to go to Cape Town. This is the most visited city in South Africa, so I'm not alone here. First of all, the city attracts me with its unusual location. On one side there are mountains, on the other there is the ocean. And considering that Cape Town is located not far from the cape Good Hope, then we can say with confidence that there is something to see there.

To use or not to use an audio guide? This type of visit allows you to learn a lot during your visit in an enjoyable and stimulating way, but also requires you to give it the time it needs. If you decide to visit the audio guide, please commit to following it until the end. Otherwise, avoid these types of visits.

Permanent collections or temporary exhibitions? Large museums often have space for their permanent collections, while others have temporary exhibitions that deserve your attention but focus on what interests you at the time, and even in the collections. You'll likely have to make a choice to focus on one or two sections and immerse yourself completely.

Victoria Falls

After visiting Kuang Si waterfall in Laos, I started reading about the largest and beautiful waterfalls peace. And I was especially impressed by the waterfall located on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Victoria, or whatever her name is called local residents"Roaring Smoke", reaches 120 meters in height and 1800 meters in width. The fog that is created around the waterfall is visible at a distance of 50 kilometers! This is probably just an incredible sight.

Why are temporary exhibitions interesting? The theme is works that the artists made with their own children as models. In addition to the works themselves, the exhibition also featured video interviews with these children or their descendants, many of whom stated that they hated posing.

Such exhibitions are necessary because they bring together artists according to a predetermined theme that establishes a dialogue between these artists from different horizons, and they allow you to see works from several museums around the world in one visit. world that you will probably never have the opportunity to see, so be sure to read the labels to find out where they come from. Excursions and educational programs.

Fiji Island

Agree, it’s very cool to go to a small secluded island in Pacific Ocean and live away from civilization for several months? Without the Internet, without crowds of tourists and at the end of the world. Well, you can leave the mobile connection, so be it :) This is where the untouched nature is, cleanest beaches and real exotica. And you don’t need a visa to go there, you can live for 90 days just by the stamp in your passport.

Visiting a museum with a guide can be a rewarding experience, take the time to learn about the educational or cultural programs, offered by the museum, and if you have time, register for one of them. A solo visit to the museum allows you to focus on the sensations and emotions you will feel throughout the museum. It also allows you to pace yourself, repeat steps, zigzag from one job to the next, and stop or sit silently before a job that is particularly affecting you.

But going there to accompany is also very good. A museum can be the perfect place to deepen a friendship, strengthen a bond, or even a date. The ideal is to go with someone with whom you get along well and have common interests, or at least someone who understands art. This is a great opportunity to compare notes on the work you see, highlighting details that may have been missed by the person accompanying you. Avoid pushing your assistant at all costs or waiting impatiently on the way out.

Disneyland Florida

For some, Disneyland is a childhood dream, but for me it is a very adult dream:) Living in the Czech Republic, we tried several times to go to a Parisian amusement park, but we never got around to it in the end. And I’m even glad, because Disneyland in Florida remains my “blue” dream. I like a fan of all Disney cartoons without exception, it’s even difficult to convey that feeling of awe and inspiration just thinking about this place.

Is a museum a place for children? Yes, but don't make it an obligation; Children should feel that visiting a museum is fun. The younger you visit museums and exhibitions, the more you contribute to the development of their artistic sensibility. A good strategy is to offer them a book about art and then have them look at the originals of those works. Another fun strategy is to have them visit a museum on a topic of their choice, such as only looking at works where you can see a hat.

Last but not least, “Bring the Canvas Home.” Who doesn't photograph the Duomo from Milan as if it weren't so? As the fifth largest Gothic cathedral in the world, it is simply breathtaking, whether in the morning or at night. When you walk up the stairs from the metro and you have this huge cathedral in front of you, only then do you believe that you are really in Milan. In the cathedral you can visit not only its interior, but also the terrace and the museum; tickets cost about 15 euros. But it is wise to get up in the morning, because the queues here are huge.

Sydney

Yes, yes, civilization still attracts me. I associate Sydney with cleanliness, comfort and well-groomed conditions. Plus, the city is one of the most multinational in the world, because people came to Australia for permanent residence (yes, they do come) people from all over the world. Which means on modern look Sydney influenced completely different world cultures. And to be honest, I have a soft spot for cities with skyscrapers and high-rise buildings.

Just strolling through this gallery is worth it at any time of day. Interestingly, in Milan there is no big river, like in other metropolises, but in Navigli there is only a water canal. And since visiting Italy is not only a cultural pleasure but also a gastronomic one, it is necessary to visit some good local businesses. Most of them can be found in Navigli on both sides of the canal. Restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlors and everything else in Italian gastronomy. A really good Mayan restaurant where you can have a really hearty dinner for 10 euros.

Preikestolen rock in Norway

The height of the Preikestolen rock, or as it is called “Pulpit,” is more than 600 meters. In order to get to the cliff you need to overcome 6 km of winding mountain path, but the view that opens from the top is amazing. completely compensates for fatigue from walking. The rock is an almost perfect square of 25 by 25 meters. I love heights, I love mountains, I want to visit Norway... Yes, this place was definitely created for me.

Every last Sunday of the month there is a huge swap meet with collectibles, every Saturday is a small flea market with absolutely everything you can imagine. In this area, near the Duomo di Milano, the world's most famous designers have their shops. Even if you haven't done anything, the fashion district is just a walk with a view of the windows. Especially during fashion week, each piece of art becomes a unique piece of art in its own right, and stores exaggerate each other which will be more interested.

Carnival in Rio de Janeiro

Who doesn't dream of going to the Brazilian carnival in Rio de Janeiro? Probably, there will be few such travelers. The carnival, which is the most spectacular and colorful event in the world, annually attracts more than 80,000 spectators. To be in the epicenter of such an amazing atmosphere at least once in your life is simply incredible!

Here you will find boutiques from local independent designers, as well as vintage shops and various other boutiques with items you won't see anywhere in Prague. You'll find it just behind the Sforzesco Castle, which is a stunning view, especially after dark when the castle is illuminated by the sparkling fountain in front of it. In fact, these are the gardens belonging to the Sforzesco Castle and the Arc de Triomphe.

In addition, the park has an aquarium, many sculptures from major Italian sculptors, the Triennale Museum of Design and Art or the Torre Branca Tower. New York can be very expensive or very cheap. It all depends on the places you want to see. The following article contains basic information about the places that every visitor visiting New York City should see. More than eight million people live in New York. So, let's see what's worth visiting in New York in just 24 hours.

Galapagos Islands

At one time we read a lot about Ecuador and life in this colorful country. Since that time, I have been dreaming of visiting these magical islands, 1000 km away from the mainland. What interested me most was the unique ecosystem of the Galapagos: unique species of birds and reptiles live here. On one of the islands there is the Charles Darwin Research Center, which, among other things, cares about the conservation rare species giant turtles.

New York - Roosevelt Island Tramway

Michael Jordan lovers may be tempted by Michael Jordan's Steak House, located on the west side of the station. Roosevelt Island is a small island located in the East River. You can reach it via the "air tram", which is quite an attraction in itself. Roosevelt Island itself doesn't have too many attractions, but the view from the glass gondola windows of the Manhattan skyscrapers is beautiful.

It is here that one of the most expensive stores is located, many salons of famous fashion designers and restaurants with the names of show business stars. On Fifth Avenue you really feel the richness of Armenia. The downside to this place, however, is the countless tourists that you literally have to squeeze through. It is worth visiting this place during Christmas. The store fronts are beautifully decorated and the exhibitions compete with each other for their ingenuity, splendor and illumination.

NY

I want to be a part of it…New York, New York Long live Frank Sinatra and long live New York! The city of my dreams:) Perhaps someday I will visit it and be forever disappointed in it. But now it’s so nice to dream about Manhattan, admiring the photos of amazing skyscrapers. American dream, whatever one may say :)

The Rockefeller Center is within walking distance of the hotel, where you can admire the world-famous New York City Ice Rink in winter. Central Park- the heart of New York. This is where Chuck and Nate from Gossip Girl fled, this is where lonely Kevin in New York hid from thugs. Spider-Man, Superman, Hulk, Brad Pitt, Arnold Schwazenegger and a whole galaxy of movie stars and the silver screen walked around Central Park. IN Central Park you will see the Jagiello monument, which will become great place for a memorable “patriotic” photograph.

In the summer, you can rent a boat here and take a short cruise on the lake, feed the ducks, or lie down on the grass and watch the famous runners. There are several famous New York museums near Central Park, such as the Museum of Natural History or Art Museum. Believe it or not, Times Square is a place that New Yorkers hate. New Yorkers' ever-crowded, loud Times Square is a big-hearted attraction, but it attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world.

Glacier lagoon in Iceland

It’s a little strange that a person who chronically cannot stand cold and winter wants to go to Iceland. However, reading about this country, I increasingly want to see these vast expanses with my own eyes. beautiful nature. AND one of the most picturesque places, in my opinion, this is glacier lagoon Jokulsaarloon ( don't try to pronounce it). It is filled with huge snow-white icebergs that cover the lagoon on all sides. And only birds and seals disturb the ideal silence of this place.

It is truly an intriguing area and everyone should be there to form their own opinion about the place. You won't believe how many tourists will be kissing and clapping under the big screen. You can stand and watch the funny tourists. You just have to watch out for Mickey Mouse hiding nearby, which tells you to pay $20 for a kiss. You will probably meet the famous “Naked Cowboy”, who has long been part of the Times Square scene.

Intersection of Union Square and 14th Street

Here is a rotating rod that should rotate proportionally faster than the number of drunken drinks. New York is an urban jungle, but that statement takes on a whole new meaning in iconic Union Square. Ideal place to monitor unusual residents New York who visit the Farmers Market located here. You may come across strange dressed people, artists, play guitars and dance a guy in panties with a chicken. This place lives its own rhythm, and that is why it is unique.

Harry Potter Museum in London

You can consider me a primitive creature, succumbing to the story of a boy with a magic wand, but I have been dreaming about the Harry Potter Museum for many, many years :) I really want to plunge into the world created by Rowling, at least for a moment, and feel atmosphere of magic and enchantment. I don’t dream about London at all, but I want to visit the museum created by Warner Brothers for crazy people like me.

Machu Picchu

To be honest, I'm almost indifferent to historical monuments. I am somehow increasingly drawn to natural attractions. But Machu Picchu is a special case. The only Inca monument untouched by the Spaniards was discovered only 100 years ago. I’ve never dreamed of Peru, but I want to visit Machu Picchu. It's scary to even think about it how many legends and stories are concentrated in this mysterious place.

Tokyo

Probably only the USA attracts me more than the Country rising sun. Japan is a completely different world, with a different culture, with a different worldview. This is a special country. Of course, I want to travel all over Japan, but I am especially interested in the multimillion-dollar Tokyo. The first thing I will do if I arrive in Japanese capital, This I'll take the risk of trying the local metro. If, of course, I can use it :)

Table Mountain Roraima

Once I saw this mountain on the National Geographic channel, I realized that I wanted to visit there. It is located at the junction of Brazil, Venezuela and Guyana, and its height reaches 2 km. The most amazing thing about this natural picture is whitish clouds surrounding the entire perimeter of the mountain. Needless to say, what magnificent landscapes open around.

Do you have any places that you dream of visiting, although you haven’t planned yet? But in your heart you hope with trepidation that very soon the dream will become a little closer..:)

Some time ago I wrote about the plans that I want to implement in the format of a cycling trip. Today we’ll just talk about dreams. The places that will be discussed in this article are “knots” in memory that began at different periods of time.

In principle, this is also nothing fantastic; if desired, this can be done quite easily. Again, the order is arbitrary. Let's start with Norway.

Prekostolen and Vøringsfossen waterfall

The whole of Norway is pure beauty and attraction, but one place especially sticks in my memory. We are talking about Preikostolen, an almost flat square rock in the Lysefjord fjord, 600 meters high. I don't think I need to explain why this place attracts me so much. Just look at the photos and imagine yourself sitting on the edge of a cliff. Also interesting is a huge boulder stuck between two stone walls, on which you definitely need to stand.

The second point in Norway is the highest waterfall in Norway, Vringsfossen, 182 meters long. A very grandiose creation of nature, which I would really like to be next to. Water falling from a great height creates tons of tiny droplets hanging in the air. In sunny weather this gives a rainbow effect, which is why Vøringsfossen is called the rainbow waterfall.

However, these are just two promoted points, Norway is worthy of the closest study. For now, the only things that confuse me are the hellish prices and the cold weather. But this can be dealt with.

Angkor Wat

This place came up when I started wondering southeast Asia. In 1858, a French lover of botany and zoology named Henri Muo came to Cambodia to study butterflies and petals at the expense of English taxpayers. Quite by accident, between the trees and vines, he noticed the walls of an ancient building. It turned out that the Frenchman had stumbled upon a Buddhist temple built by the Khmers at the beginning of the second millennium. Mysterious city Agkor Wat, overgrown with greenery, stood untouched for several centuries. This stunning place is now open to the public.

Asia interests me more and more every day, and Angkor Wat is like a gateway to this exotic world.

Death Road in Bolivia

This place, perhaps, still needs to be covered by bicycle. In Bolivia there is a road called Camino de las Yungas, which is 69 km long. The road was built as the only route across the Andes, from the Bolivian capital La Paz to the southern region of the country, in the 1930s by Paraguayan prisoners of war.

In some places, the width of the road surface does not exceed three meters, add to this frequent rains and landslides, as well as dust, which impairs visibility. Because of all this, the name Death Road is fully justified - at least a hundred people died here every year. However, see for yourself, the most relish starts at 6:35

In recent years, car traffic has decreased greatly, and the road has in some sense become a cult place in South America for cyclists. Many people want to ride through exhilarating terrain, with stunning views and a continuous descent of 40 km.

Mount Roraima

This creation of nature will not leave anyone indifferent. Mount Roraima in South America, 400m high, is flat as a table, with steep cliffs. However, it is quite possible for an unprepared person to climb to the top, without climbing equipment.

Upstairs just alien landscapes, because clouds and clouds constantly hang over the mountain, cold winds blow, forcing the flora and fauna to adapt to the aggressive external environment. Sergei Pavlyuk’s photographs completely convey the atmosphere, it seems to me.

Mount Hua Shan

This is another one of my researches on the topic of Asia. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful places that I saw in photographs. Buddhist monasteries, it’s not clear how dizzying staircases hundreds of meters high, narrow wooden walkways built on the tops of mountains...

On the one hand, it is a pity that this attraction is so promoted that millions of tourists visit Hua Shan every year. On the other hand, how would I know about it then?

It’s hard to believe, but for hundreds of years Buddhist monks ran along these hewn steps and wooden passages, up and down every day. Moreover, safety chains and cables were installed recently, when tourists flocked to Hua Shan en masse. I can hardly imagine how much strength it takes to climb to the top using such steep stairs. I can only remember Gibraltar, after which we slept all night like the dead. But there it was only 400 meters, and here the height of some mountains reaches 1000m.

The most interesting things starting at 3:32

Grand Canyon

Scientists claim that the Grand Canyon is 10 million years old. The depth reaches one and a half kilometers, the width is up to 29 km, and the length is 446 km. A colossal creation of nature, what can I say. In general, I am not yet attracted to the USA, but this is a place I would like to visit. There is, however, one amazing road, which I will write about, but later.

By the way, interesting fact: in the middle of the last century, pilots passenger aircraft, flying over the Grand Canyon, they specially made several figures with a roll on one side and the other to give people the opportunity to see the landmark. It all ended with the fact that as a result of these maneuvers, two planes collided, killing 128 people, and such recklessness was banned.

Angel Falls

The world's tallest waterfall, tons of water cascade from a kilometer height. They say that these places are extremely difficult to get to because the waterfall is located in the deep Venezuelan tropical forests.

As often happens, the waterfall was discovered by one person, but named after another. It was first seen by Ernesto La Cruz, but the waterfall gained real fame after the American James Angel landed his small plane on a plateau from which water falls. The plane was damaged during landing, causing Angel and his team to travel for 11 days. wildlife Venezuela to return to civilization. For such heroism, the waterfall was named after the surname Angela (Spanish: Angel).

Interestingly, 33 years later, Angel’s plane was pulled out of the plateau by helicopter, and now it is parked at the Ciudad Bolivar airport.

Cuba

This is perhaps my oldest “clue.” If I’m not mistaken, I first wanted to go to Cuba ten years ago. Now the desire has subsided, but not died. Probably, I am drawn there by the island’s exoticism and very unique culture. After all, this is truly an absolutely unique place on the planet: on the one hand, communist ideology, and on the other, isolation from the civilized world, and all this is superimposed on the careless disposition of the Cubans. The result is a completely unique atmosphere.

This is roughly the list of dreams. I would like to ask my readers, do you have similar “knots” in your memory? Where do you want to go, share in the comments.

  1. Kuli-Kalon Valley, Fan Mountains, Central Asia. It’s impossible to get there by car, at least it was impossible before (stone rubble).

This is a fairytale! I was there in '87. Unfortunately, we galloped down the valley; it was an extreme sport hike.

We crawled across the Ala-udin pass and drove off. And I would have stood there, at least for a couple of days... But there was absolutely no time. Our harsh sports cycling tourism...

Unfortunately, there is not a single photo from inside the forest. From the photos you can only guess how mesmerizing it is to be inside this natural rock garden.

The place is very quiet, surrounded by powerful mountain slopes. In the upper reaches of the valley it’s just terrible, Wall Maria with a constant rumbling rockfall. The height of the valley is something around 3000, for Central Asia in July-August - heavenly places.

There, in the upper reaches, there is an ascent to the popular Alaudin pass, to the Alaudin lakes. Also worth a look. They are brightly colored. The view from the saddle is incredibly beautiful. True, there, beyond the pass, there is a constant crowd of mountaineers, you can’t breathe. Everyone grazes in a tiny patch of forest on the side of the Big Alaudin Lake.

But on the Kuli-Kalon lakes there are a ton of parking places. There are many scattered boulders, and between them an alpine forest, with intricately twisted hard trunks, and among the forest there are hundreds of paths along which you can even safely drive in some places. And all this is mixed with dozens of quiet lakes.

I could live there for a few days, let eternity in, dissolve in silence (cliches, cliches, I can’t say it better).

I still want to bang my head against the wall. The seven lakes on the Shing River are also beautiful, and the huge Iskander-Kul, with its extensive beach, but Kuli-Kalon... Y-s...

I read great amount articles from your site and am very impressed with your stories.
I feel like a kindred spirit, a traveler.
I haven’t grown up to bike yet, but I think after everything I’ve read here it won’t take me long to wait.

Judging by the text from your mouth, it was very often mentioned that you love warmer climes, sea, mountains, and canyons.

We have at least 3 different seas. (Your beloved Mediterranean!) dead and red (especially dead).
It’s warm when it’s already cold in Europe.
There is even a small semblance of the “Great American Canyon”

    P.S.
And I will certainly express the thoughts of many participants in this forum.
I ask you to make and post a report for everyone to see, as it seems to me by everyone, a deeply respected companion of your many travels. (Murzik)
In the role of a journalist, I propose to invite an outside observer.

Thank you for your efforts, fair winds and many kilometers of roads!!!

  2. There are a lot in Israel resort places, and the flow of tourists does not dry up for a minute. Places such as Jerusalem with its 3000 summer history no where else.

Of course, not everything is as transparent as in Europe, and there are places that are worth traveling around or visiting with an organized group.
But for Russian-speaking tourists this is not such a problem, since they ( local population Arabs) love Russians very much for their political support.

And I just gave you a direction: consult with people on the forums, I myself would be interested to know how people respond to my country.

The simple fact remains that I have more than once met travelers from Russia walking along a highway that cuts through the whole of Israel from north to south, its length is 940 km, and this is on their own. Also, almost parallel to it, there is a bicycle road also from north to south, with stunning changes in landscape and climate, but unfortunately I am less familiar with it.
