Ryanair flight

If you are planning your trip to Gdansk Warsaw in advance, then you can search and buy a plane ticket for 9 zł. For some this is news, but for others it is not. If you have never flown by plane, then you should try it to experience new sensations.

But not everything is as it seems at first glance. Ryanair operates flights to Modlin Airport, which is 40 km from the center of Warsaw, and Frederic Chopin Airport, which is located in Warsaw itself.

Once you arrive in Modlin, you have two options:

  • get there by bus for PLN 40. straight from the airport
  • by train, which costs about PLN 14. and travel time is 40 minutes. To get to the train station, you need to take a bus for PLN 5. and go to the station. Those who love walks in the fresh air can walk to the train in 40 minutes.

In fact, the transport system of Modlin with the capital of Poland is good, but it takes extra time and money...

Ryanair has now started flying to Frederic Chopin Airport and this is very good news.

Let's summarize, since you need to arrive at the airport 2 hours before departure:
Modlin: 2 hours before departure + 45 minutes flight + 45 minutes before warszawa centralna = 3.5 hours (9 PLN plane + 5 PLN bus + 14 PLN train = 28 PLN)

Warsaw Chopin: 2 hours before departure + 55 minutes flight + 35 minutes before warszawa centralna = 3.5 hours (9 PLN plane + 4.40 PLN public transport = 14 PLN)

Polski Bus company bus

There is nothing special here; pre-purchased tickets online can be found for about PLN 10-20. If you buy the day before departure PLN 30. This company has mainly two flights, Express 4.5 hours on the way, and regular 5.5 hours.

The company has modern and comfortable buses with all amenities (220 sockets, Wi-fi, WC). Since the road from Gdansk to Warsaw has many sharp turns, it gets a little tiring after 4 hours.

In winter, buses may be delayed by 30 minutes.

Buses arrive at the station, next to the Młociny metro station, about 30-40 minutes to the center.

Travel time 4.5 + and half an hour to central Warsaw = 5 hours. EIf you're lucky, you'll find tickets starting from PLN 1.))

Pendolino train, InterCity service

By train everything is as simple as shelling pears; a pre-purchased ticket cost me 50 PLN. When purchasing, you immediately choose which station you need to go to. Travel time is 2 hours 45 minutes.
The high-speed train Pendolino is only available on Express InterCity Premium flights; it usually travels no more than 2 hours 45 minutes and has the beginning of “EIP” in the Direct line, example Direct (EIP 0000). All other trains have different data and can travel from 3 hours or longer.

The cabin is cozy and comfortable, as if you were sitting on the sofa at home; with such a trip, the travel time passes with a bang. Coffee or tea is at your service, supposedly included in the ticket price.

From Gdansk to central Warsaw 2 hours 45 minutes, the fastest way, but at a price of 50 zlotys!

For me, I liked the last option the most, as for me, it is the most optimal. There is no need to arrive in advance and trek across all of Warsaw to get to the central part.
If you book tickets less than a week in advance, then this will be the best option for you.

How can you go to Poland and not visit Warsaw or Gdansk? These two cities are simply fascinating, inspiring, you can just walk for hours along the old part of Warsaw or the Gdansk embankment and be absolutely happy. I have already been to both the Polish capital and the port of Gdansk several times. Each time I traveled on my own, since all my friends do not share my desire to spend all my savings on such trips. And I always make a trip plan myself. That’s what happened that time, I planned the Gdansk route on my own.

Automobile

You can cover more than four hundred kilometers from Gdansk to Warsaw in four hours by car. And this can be done due to the fact that in Poland the highways are in excellent condition - wide lanes, high-quality asphalt pavement, bright markings, and there are bump stops. Everything is a solid A!) Renting such a vehicle is now very easy on the Internet, because there are a lot of online services like where you can look up prices, brands and immediately arrange a rental. The only disadvantage of such a trip is the paid fare. For a section of the A1 motorway from Gdansk to Torun you will have to pay about 30 zlotys (7 euros).

Tolls are paid upon entering the toll zone using bank cards or cash. But no one forces you to travel on toll roads. You can plan your route in such a way as to travel along free roads, for example, E77. It is also of good quality, the only drawback is that the mileage will be longer, which means the travel time will be an hour or two longer.

Bus

As for public transport, the choice is very wide)). You can use buses, trains and even planes. Now, first things first. Buses run daily from Gdansk to Warsaw from the well-known company PolskiBus in this country.

The buses are really cool - soft seats (you can even sleep well), air conditioning, wireless Internet access, even dry toilets. Just everything you need for a comfortable trip.

You can take such buses towards Warsaw at the main bus station in Gdansk. Here is a mark on the map where exactly this station is located.

There are less than ten buses running along the route. The schedule can be viewed in more detail on the carrier’s website. I will indicate the web resource below. The duration of the trip is from four and a half hours.

A ticket for the low-cost airline Ryanair can even be bought for 21 zlotys (5 euros), but LOT will cost more - from 94 zlotys (24 euros).

Bottom line

I traveled with a low-cost airline from Ryanair. Regarding the comfort of the flight, you can give it a C, but such a trip takes even less than an hour, so you can be patient)).
