Prices for air tickets Jakarta – Denpasar Bali by month. How can you get from Jakarta to Bali? How to get from Jakarta to Bali by ferry

In this article I will tell you how you can get from Bali to Jakarta and back.

Airplane

If you have a short two-week vacation and do not want to travel around Java, then I would recommend flying Bali-Jakarta and Jakarta-Bali to save time. It's funny that a plane ticket and a bus ticket will cost about the same: $30 - $40.

  • Cheap plane tickets Jakarta-Bali and Bali-Jakarta

Direct bus

Bus tickets can be purchased both at travel agencies and online. Air-conditioned bus tickets cost IDR 480,000 - IDR 550,000. Official version, that the journey takes about 24 hours, but it seems to me that it could be longer, this is Asia :) The bus makes several stops. In Jakarta, the bus departs from Jembatan Baru, Terminal Pulogadung, Terminal Pulogadung, Terminal Pulogadung stations. In Bali, the bus departs from stations in Ubud and Denpassar.

Our trip

We couldn’t find information about whether it was possible to take a direct Bali-Jakarta bus somewhere halfway along the route, for example, in the area of the Ijen volcano (we were going right to it), so we had to be content with non-tourist city transport and go with transfers.

I'll tell you how we drove, but this is not an ideal option. But just one of many.

  1. Car from Canggu area, Bali to northwest Bali.
  2. The Bali-Java ferry costs a penny, I don’t remember the exact price, the journey takes 40 minutes. It runs once every 1 hour. As far as I know, the ferry operates 24 hours a day.
  3. Port Banyuwangi - Probolinggo, 150,000 rupees, journey 5.5 hours. A broken-down bus without air conditioner.
  4. Probolinggo - Surabaya, 20,000 rupees, travel time 2.5 hours. Excellent modern bus with air conditioning.
  5. Surabaya - Jakarta, 280,000 rupees, travel time 17 hours. Excellent modern bus with air conditioning.

You can also get from Denpassar, Bali and to the port of Banyuwangi (near the Ijen volcano) by bus. The recommended buses are Indonesia Abadi, Margahayu, DAMRI or Akas, which go from Denpassar to Surabaya. If the volcano is not interesting to you, then, accordingly, you can go to the final Surabaya.

There is a direct bus from Banyuwangi port to Jakarta for 480,000 rupees. The driver gave the travel time as 28 hours. The downside is that there is only 1 bus after lunch, at 7 pm. We arrived in Banyuwangi in the morning and we didn’t want to wait for the evening, so we went on the stage. And in the end we got there in 25 hours. In terms of money, both a direct bus and one with 2 transfers were the same - $34.

And now a little more about our bus trip

What to expect from government buses plying in Java? Firstly, they are very different, there are both ancient clunkers and high-quality modern buses, which are a pleasure to ride. We rode both the first and the second :) Tickets can be purchased on the spot directly on the buses or at the bus station. The locals speak a little English, but more often than not, not understanding us, they began to mutter something in their own language.

The route Surabaya - Jakarta (Jakarta) was the longest, 17 hours. There were soft comfortable seats that fell back, places for suitcases and curtains on the windows so that the sun would not interfere.

We most likely overpaid for the ticket to Probolinggo, but for the ticket to Jakarta we got a little discount. So here, like in a market, you have to bargain. We have rarely seen this; usually in Asia there are no problems with fixed prices for intercity buses. Lots of helpers, bus vendors and musicians - everything here is as usual in Asia :) Sometimes unobtrusive music plays or a movie is shown on TV.

What else can I say - we blew the laptop. At one of the stops between Surabaya and Jakarta, while we, like everyone else on our bus, were having lunch in a cafe, some scoundrel took one of our laptops out of his backpack, put a thick magazine in its place and was gone. Of course, it's our own fault that we left valuable thing unattended, so you only have yourself to blame. A couple of days later we already bought a new laptop, but the unpleasant aftertaste from the bus trip in friendly Java remained. Having discovered the loss, we asked one of the passengers to call the police. A couple of minutes later we arrived at the station, the police searched every bag, but found nothing. The thief, having stolen the laptop, probably never returned to the bus. The passengers on our bus were very sympathetic to us, willingly helped the police in the search and reacted quite calmly to the unforeseen delay on the way. In short, when leaving the transport even for a short time, take all valuables with you. And this story will be a science for us, otherwise, having traveled by bus all over Sri Lanka and sailed on ferries in the Philippines, we completely relaxed and stopped being on guard. Like, everything was always top-notch, we didn’t expect a set-up from Indonesia, oh, we didn’t expect it. But now we’ll be on watch again, there’s no need to relax :)

Jakarta has the same population as Moscow, but its territory is several times smaller and there are no high-rise residential areas. I don’t know how all the people fit in 1-3 storey buildings. Apparently the problem is the high density of residents inside the apartments. The city center is built up with skyscrapers and is quite modern, and around there are endless 1-3 storey hut houses. In the skyscrapers there are banks, large corporations, a bunch of licked shopping centers(although some inside look half-closed and absolutely not visited). Instead of the metro, there is an air-conditioned transjakarta bus. Buses run on several lines. The stops look like mini metro stations with ticket offices and turnstiles. Pay once at the entrance, transfers to other lines are free. Can be arranged bus tour and watch how the local sculptors play pranks on the residents. Each sculpture is full of pathos: a man, incredibly bending forward, carries a dish with fire (the local nickname is “pizza man”), a chariot drawn by horses rushes forward at incredible speed (to emphasize the speed, some of the horses are made of net-like fire, as if shot through with buckshot). Fantasy works. Many statues of policemen with a baton and the seriously edifying face of Uncle Styopa.

It takes about a day to travel from Jakarta to Bali. 12 hours to Surabaya (by train or road the same), 6 to the ferry, the rest by ferry, transfers and waiting. In order not to leave the Jakarta metropolis on transfers, I take a train ticket to Surabaya, almost through all of Java, for 4.5 dollars. The seating carriage is similar to the Chinese one, but the people are more decent than in China, both my neighbors spoke English, but the density of people is higher, so by night all the aisles were occupied by Indonesians sleeping in sitting positions. There is nowhere to put my foot. You can walk along the top of the seat backs, where there are free corners to place your feet. And it’s not just some homeless people sleeping in the aisle - ordinary, clean dressed people who did not receive a ticket with a seat. In some strange way, there are also merchants on this train, including selling quite large black Muslim carpets with gold embroidery in Arabic script. There are no problems with food and it is half the price than in eateries.

You can only sleep sideways in a non-reclining seat, and the train was 4 hours late. In general, it would be better to hitchhike.

Surabaya too Big city. There is a traffic jam on the highway, which local schoolchildren are trying to relieve by showing drivers where to exit the highway to avoid the traffic jam and receiving a thousand rupees from the driver for this. Getting back onto the highway, however, is also not fast. Getting around a traffic jam takes the same amount of time as standing in it, so we returned to the highway surrounded by the same cars we wanted to overtake.

After the fork to the east of the island, the route is clear. Hitchhiking is very good - I couldn’t stand for more than three minutes. Truck drivers stop after twenty minutes to feed me (it’s clear: I was standing on the highway, completely hungry) and don’t even let me pay for myself. But once I managed to pay: the price was half as much as in Sumatra or Jakarta. Moreover, the dishes are one hundred percent edible - the fish and chicken legs familiar from Sumatra, fried to the point of a mummy, were replaced by much more tasty dishes. The most pleasant drink of the day - es jeruk lemon/tangerine, sugar and ice. After a hot cabin, you want to drink to the bottom and sit for a long time, melting the remaining pieces of ice at the bottom of the glass in your mouth.

East Java is a fruit paradise. Durians, rambutans, watermelons and mangosteens in many roadside stalls compete with the usual tangerines, bananas and pineapples. Prices are obscenely low.
The car ferry departs about five kilometers south of the city Banyuwangi. I leave the city at night. There is a continuous stream of motorcyclists driving along the road, while about every tenth one stops and tries to figure out what my problem is, haven’t you found a bus station or something? At the same time, there are two or three people on each motorcycle: there is no place to give a ride, but they are preventing the truck from stopping. In the end, I am being driven by a tuned truck with blue dimensions, which for some fundamental reason does not accelerate more than 25 kilometers per hour. Moreover, the engine pulls well: both on a steep climb and downhill again - twenty-five.

The ferry between Java and Bali in the strait is constantly turning around and I just can’t stand on the quarterdeck - I just crossed over and stood looking forward, suddenly the engines started working and you were on the forecastle. In the dark, however, nothing special is visible.

By midnight, having calculated that the “twenty-five-kilometer” truck will have to travel until at least the morning, I get off and am ready to look for a place for a tent in the wet grass under the palm trees. But the next car takes me straight to Kuta, and besides, for the first time in Indonesia, a jeep picked me up on the road. The driver works as a jeweler, speaks English and is educated. He asks me how things are with the mafia in Russia. We have to explain to him in which offices the mafia works in our country. The driver says that in Indonesia everything is much simpler.

There were no forests visible around Kuta, I set up a tent on the city beach and fell asleep.

There are many options for organizing a holiday on the island of Bali.

The first and not the most reasonable, in my opinion, is to buy a ticket from a travel agency. Of course, sometimes there are interesting offers, due to the so-called “hot spots”, but the biggest disadvantages of such a holiday will await you ahead. We will talk about this in the following articles. I’ll just say that an independent holiday (flight plus hotel) will cost you 20-30% cheaper compared to a tour package. Not being tied to one vacation spot opens up completely different opportunities to see the island at its best.

Logistics – flight options to Bali.

The final point of your route will be Nura Rai Airport, Denpasar, Bali (DPS – IATA code), .

The best departure airport for many residents of the Russian Federation will be Moscow, due to the best prices for air tickets. I don’t think there’s any need to explain how to get to Moscow from your city.

Option one

Flight with one airline with a connection at any airport along the route. Typically, such air carriers belong to the segment of companies with the highest standards of service. According to the international rating they are called 4-5 star companies: Cathay Pacific Airways, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Etihad Airways. Accordingly, these carriers operate flights with stops in Hong Kong, Doha, Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Connection time options may vary and usually the cost of tickets depends on this. If your layover is more than 9 hours, usually many airlines provide hotel, meals or organize excursions.

The last time we used Qatar Airways, there was one moment that was not significant for us, but due to the fault of this airline, they forgave us for more than 20 kg of excess baggage (for which we were prepared to pay a tidy sum) and provided us with a free business lounge at the Singapore airport.

This flight option will cost 1000 - 1300 dollars per person, round trip and will take longer than 15 hours one way.

Second option

Choose a flight to an intermediate airport in South-East Asia. Usually to Jakarta (JKT) - the capital of Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur (KUL) - the capital of Malaysia, Bangkok (BKK) - the capital of Thailand and Singapore (SIN) and other Asian cities.

This flight option will cost 600 - 900 dollars.

Next, from the places indicated above, a flight with “low-cost” or budget airlines is selected. However, you shouldn’t paint yourself a gloomy picture that if it’s a budget airline, then that’s it: the wing falls off, the staff is rude, the food is disgusting and other delights for your money.

In fact: the planes are brand new, the staff is friendly and the service is excellent. A striking example of an Asian low-cost company is AirAsia, a Malaysian airline. According to SKYTRAX (a UK consulting company that annually publishes a rating best airlines world), AirAsia has been recognized as the world's best low-cost airline for the fifth year in a row. We ourselves use AirAsia services very often and are very satisfied.

Here is the website of this airline http://www.airasia.com

Local airlines also fly from Jakarta to Bali and there are quite a lot of flights per day: BatikAir, Indonesia AirAsia, LionAir, Sriwijaya Air, Tiger Air (formerly Mandala Air).

The cost of the flight in this case will cost 50-150 dollars, round trip.

In total, the second option with flights on two airlines can cost 650 - 1050 dollars round trip.

Also, to the advantages of a combined flight you can add the opportunity to visit other countries by transit visa, for example Singapore.

Third option

Direct flight on a charter flight of a domestic airline. If you consider the time spent on the flight, this is the most profitable option, just 12 hours from Moscow and you are in Bali. Such tickets can sometimes be bought on the websites of some tour operators or searched on Turdom http://www.turdom.ru. Usually these are last-minute offers on air tickets, that is, unpurchased seats in charter flight. This happens because one of the tourists refused the trip.

To offset the costs, domestic airlines sometimes offer such tickets at reasonable prices ranging from $800 to $1,000.

How to select tickets, where to look for them and how to issue them.

To search for air tickets, there are many convenient services - aggregators. Below I’ll tell you about best service which we ourselves use.

is one of the best air ticket aggregators available today.

Using this service, you can not only quickly select and book an air ticket, by the way, not only to Bali, but in general to any place that interests you. This program collects data on more than 700 ticket offices and air carriers and displays the results in convenient form. Moreover, you are not charged any additional commission when purchasing a ticket.

So, the main search menu, which you can use directly on our website here:

Enter the departure city, destination city, the dates, you can check the option plus or minus 3 days, the number of passengers and set the search.

The search process occurs and the following form appears:

The first section of the form shows dates, offers to change usage parameters and currency, saves the history of your search queries and allows you to use another convenient widget - “map” low prices». The low price map is a fairly simple widget and allows you to clearly see the approximate cost of air tickets to the destinations you are interested in, geographically referenced. You can try it here.

The second section is the low price calendar. If you click on the tab, the following form will open:

It’s also very convenient: play around with dates, simply selecting the options that interest you.

Block three reflects the proposed search option, flight information, cost of the cheapest option, operator companies that offer these tickets and the carrier company. If you are in doubt about purchasing from operator companies, you can go to the website of the airline itself by clicking on its icon (in our example, this is Etihad). Next, issue an electronic ticket.

If it’s difficult for you to book a ticket yourself or you simply don’t have time to track flight options, you can entrust this to us.

Block four is designed to track information on the flight you are interested in and send the data to your email.

The fifth block reflects additional filters to refine the search conditions: number of transfers, prices, departure times, etc.

There are also other services: momondo.com, skyscanner.ru, flight search from Google, etc. Their operating principles are similar to aviasales, but they do not allow you to issue the ticket you are interested in directly from the search form. Therefore, I see no point in describing them in detail here.

To book and purchase the air ticket itself, you will need a debit or credit card VISA, Maestro, Mastercard, a valid passport (the validity of the passport for a visit to Indonesia should not be less than 6 months)

On the airline or operator website, do several simple steps: enter your flight dates, if necessary, your personal data, carefully check your passport details, etc., book a ticket, pay with your existing card and receive an electronic ticket.

Have a nice time independent travel on Bali.

How to get from Moscow to Jakarta

Direct flights from Moscow to Jakarta no, you will have to fly with transfers: in Bangkok, Doha, Istanbul or Abu Dhabi, depending on the airline. All international flights arrive at Jakarta Soekarno Hatta International Airport, located 20 km east of the city center.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport has three terminals:

  • Terminal 1: serves domestic flights only
  • Terminal 2: has several concourses that serve both international and domestic flights
  • Terminal 3: Serves low-cost airlines such as AirAsia, Mandala Airlines, Cebu Pacific, etc.

If you are making a transfer in Jakarta for a domestic flight, then you will most likely have to change the terminal; for this purpose, special airport buses (Shuttle Bus) run between the terminals. Shuttle buses run around the clock every 5-10 minutes. You need to look carefully at the information boards or ask at the information desk where your flight arrives/departs from, because sometimes there can be slight confusion.

How to get from the airport to Jakarta

Taxi. After landing and clearing immigration and baggage claim, you exit the terminal. Most likely, private taxi drivers will immediately come up to you and start offering their services, but I do not recommend using their services; it is better to trust the professionals. There are taxi counters for several companies at the airport: Blue Bird, Hertz, Avis, etc. There are also so-called VIP taxis, they have better car, but their services are much more expensive. We usually use Blue Bird. The cost of a trip from the airport to the center of Jakarta by budget taxi will cost 200 - 300 thousand IDR according to the meter and will take from 45 minutes to 3 hours depending on traffic. On the way you may meet toll roads Usually they are paid for by passengers, but this is subject to agreement.

Bus. From the airport to Jakarta you can take a bus. This can be done by bus from one of 4 companies: Damri, Primajasa, Cipaganti and X-Trans. Information about departure times and fares can be found at the information stands at the airport. Buses stop outside the terminals and run quite frequently. I advise you to use Damri buses that go to Gambir railway station. The cost of the trip is 25 thousand IDR.

How to get from Bali to Jakarta

You can do this trip in two ways: quickly and easily, or for a long time, difficult and interesting.

Airplane. Regular direct flights from Denpasar to Jakarta are operated by the famous low-cost airline AirAsia. Her tickets can be bought very cheaply (20 USD) if you buy in advance or get in on a promotion.

Advice. At all airports in Indonesia, upon departure, passengers are charged an airport tax of 40 thousand IDR (4 USD) for domestic flights and 150 thousand (17 USD) for international flights. And most importantly, you can only pay in Indonesian Rupiah (IDR), dollars are not accepted!

Ground transport. You can get from Bali to Jakarta by land and sea transport. This trip will be logistically more difficult than a plane, but also much more interesting.

You can take a bus or taxi to the eastern point of the island. Bali, there take the ferry to the island. Java. Then take a bus to the village of Prombolinggo and from there go see Bromo volcano. Then you can take a bus or train to the cultural capital of Java - the city of Jogjarta. Here in the suburbs of Yogyakarta you can see 2 amazing temple complexes and. Then go by train or bus to Jakarta.

Reference

  • Besides international airport Sukarno Hatta, Jakarta has a domestic airport called Halim. Few flights depart from it. But if you order a taxi, check which airport you are being taken to, you never know.
  • Due to the heavy traffic in Jakarta, especially during rush hours (from 7.00 to 9.00 and from 16. to 18.00), leave for the airport in advance, because the journey may take longer than you expect.

The colorful island of Bali attracts many tourists with its excellent conditions for relaxing on the beach and is considered the most popular resort in Indonesia. Today we will talk about how to get to Bali, which routes are considered the fastest and most popular, and how you can save on your trip.

Let us immediately note that the cheapest, but not the fastest way to get to the paradise island would be a mixed trip, which consists of a flight to some Asian city and a low-cost airline to the island. But there will be interesting route and for those who prefer to travel in comfort and do not want to waste time searching for great deals.

In order to find an option for covering a huge distance by air, we recommend using the search on the website aviasales.ru, which presents the most profitable offer available airlines. So, the most cheap ticket the company offers Turkish Airlines which is ready to take you straight to the airport paradise island for only 28,581 rub.

But a route with two transfers cannot be called fast. The total time you will have to spend on board the three aircraft will be about 17 hours. But at the same time, at the transfer points - Istanbul and Jakarta - you will have to spend 18 and 11.5 hours waiting for the plane, respectively. Of course, no one will provide you with free hotel accommodation, so the costs of waiting for your flight will increase significantly. But you can use this time to explore the city, visit a museum or buy souvenirs.

But the fastest flight will be on a plane of the Indonesian company Garuda Indonesia. The journey with one transfer in Hong Kong will take only 16 hours 45 minutes, but a ticket for one passenger will cost 47,658 rubles! You will have to spend an hour longer on the road if you decide to use the services of a Qatar carrier. You will have to make one transfer in Doha, but you can save a lot: flight tickets start from 32,986 rubles. Thus, you can choose not only the optimal route from Moscow, but also from airports in other Russian cities. And don’t forget to keep an eye on the promotions that Asian and Turkish carriers run from time to time.

Combined trip

If you are not in a hurry, want to save a lot on the road and are ready to hit the road at any time, one of the mixed routes may suit you, which involve covering part of the journey by plane and the rest by low-cost airlines. But this option is not suitable for everyone, since the second segment will have to be done with minimal comfort.

So, first of all, you need to “register” on sites where airlines post lucrative offers and information about promotions. Search profitable ticket to any of the cities in Asia, preferably those located near the island of Bali.

A flight to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong or Kuala Lumpur may be convenient and profitable. Especially if you choose one of the Asian air carriers. For example, today you can easily find a ticket to Bangkok with one transfer for only 16 thousand rubles.

As soon as you find yourself in one of the indicated cities in Asia, all that remains is to choose the route that is optimal in terms of time and costs to the shores of the treasured island. To do this, you can use all available offers: air travel, bus, etc. For example, the carrier Air Asia is ready to take you to the resort for only 6800-7500 rubles! Moreover, the travel time will be only 4 hours! After some simple calculations, it turns out that the cost of the flight is comparable to a direct flight from the budget category, which includes two transfers. At the same time, travel time is reduced by 2-4 times!

An alternative option to get to the island would be to fly from Moscow to Hong Kong, from where you can fly on a plane from one of the companies towards paradise. A ticket to Hong Kong from the capital's airport will cost 13-19 thousand rubles, depending on the company, route and number of transfers, and the journey will take from 9 to 22 hours. The second part of the route will take from 11 hours and will cost only 9-11 thousand rubles.

By the way, there is good news for Russians who do not plan to stay at the resort longer than 30 days. You do not need a holiday visa.

As you can see, there are quite a few alternative routes. And although the paradise island is located at a decent distance from the capital airport of Russia, getting there will not be difficult. Knowing how to get to Bali, which airlines fly and how much a flight costs, you can choose the best option for your exciting trip. Don’t forget to use online resources that allow you to find the best price offers, and regularly monitor carriers’ promotions.
