Kega Bay. Ke Ga resort town in Vietnam. The resort town of Ke Ga in Vietnam

Good afternoon everyone. I decided to write a review “hot on the heels” while I remember the details and have fresh emotions. Where to begin? Probably from the location of the hotel - it is located in the Ke Ga area, this is a remote place not far from the Vietnamese landmark of the Ke Ga Lighthouse. I’ll say right away that it took us 5.5 hours to get from the airport to the hotel, after almost 3 hours of standing on passport control at Cam Ranh airport, baggage collection and sorting by tour operator into buses (Pegasus). So those who are afraid of the flight (10 hours) should not be afraid of the voyage across the sky, but of the subsequent road to the hotel. On the plus side, the place is truly chill-out and gamey - unlike Mui Ne, where the names are all in Russian. This is real Vietnam, baby. The hotel rooms are shaky, in some places there are “walking tiles” underfoot, dried out furniture, dirty and torn bed headrests, cracks in the windows. Speaking of windows, on the very first day after moving in, I opened the window, but it was no longer destined to be closed - it jammed tightly. I reported this to the reception, they promised to sort it out, but they never did. In the evening they only mentioned that tomorrow (not today) they could offer another room, which was done. Okay, not lethal, let’s take a breath of sea air. The air conditioner is good, but it hangs right above the bed (my child slept there), so don’t expect to turn it on at night, you’ll get cold). There is no television in the hotel in Russian, the channels are in English with Vietnamese voice acting or subtitles. The TV itself is new, in theory you can even connect HDMI to it, but they won’t give you a remote control to switch the signal source, but I think you’ll get away with it... They clean it very well, the staff is friendly and loves children. The views from the rooms to the sea (at least in the one where we lived) are bomb, good balconies, but literally a piece of glass a meter high shares with the neighbors, so if they smoke or like to talk out loud at night under the moon, be prepared or not sleep or something else. There is literally no entertainment at all (in fact, there is some kind of karaoke above the restaurant), so help yourself here. But there is good Wi-Fi, which, however, was sometimes very laggy (when it was full). Once I called the reception and asked to do something with the Internet, they promised to fix it and asked for my number - someone would come to fix it. I still don’t understand what to fix and where in my room it is. The Internet has not gotten any better :) The beach is microscopic between two piles of stones and this is generally a huge story, a very big minus of the entire vacation. The fact is that there is a fairly long sandbank there, and the buoys retreat from coastline meters by 5-10 depending on the tide. The guard is hellishly strict and whistles every time you step over the rope (yes, you actually step, not swim across). A study of the issue showed that next to the hotel for recent years two the bottom changed and a whirlpool formed, which pulls people under water. There were cases of drowning (somewhere in Mui Ne, just during our vacation, 4 Vietnamese students drowned) and after that such strict rules were introduced - so decide for yourself whether you need a hotel with the sea or just to get your feet wet. I was with children and it was great; my wife and I fed ourselves midges and other insects on the beach on sun loungers (there are only 10 of them under the roofs). For reference, there is an awesome beach nearby, a kilometer away and no one with a whistle, I swam there without any problems, I didn’t get sucked in anywhere (maybe I was lucky, I don’t know), but in general everything is at your own risk. PS. When we left, an excavator was driving along the shore and digging the beach - so maybe there is a chance for some improvements, since the low tide in the last two days made swimming impossible - the sandbank was already 10 meters away after the buoys that hung lifelessly on the poles. During high tide it’s no longer possible clean beach littered with garbage, I didn’t see the people who cleaned it up - I did it myself until I lost this battle to the sea and shamefully fled to the pool with the Chinese. Another problem of the hotel is the restaurant. It's expensive and not very tasty. They asked for freshly squeezed juice without ice (for reference, ice is not made from bottled water and no one can guarantee its purity; I picked up this habit back in Cambodia). They brought half a glass with a grin (they say we weren’t made with a finger either), I didn’t go to the restaurant again - because I didn’t care. Walk along the road nearby - there is a restaurant with prices 2-3 times lower, the conditions are spartan and there are a lot of flies, but no one bothers you to take food to take away or to the beach. You can go to the edge of Phan Thiet to eat cheaper than in a hotel - at Tripadvisor is full of recommendations. We never made it to the spa, impressed by the service of the restaurant. The hotel pools are very good, with salt water (they still add chlorine), there is plenty different levels, but there are no slides - the children were delighted. The bar did not work because it was not the season; in general, half of the hotel at this time (August) was still in the stage of suspended animation, in some places the fountains did not work, the bowls of the small pools were not filled. In general, be prepared for the fact that this hotel is for locals and Chinese. There are few compatriots and therefore no one speaks Russian, only weak English. At the same time, they are very sincere and smile a lot. On weekends, locals occupy all the rooms and shout their Vietnamese songs from the balconies and smoke until the morning, play cards on the balconies - I fought like a lion, but this is their culture... nothing can be done. Transport. There is a shuttle to Phan Thiet, but its departure time is solely for the convenience of the staff, who are going about their business somewhere in the city (the driver bombs along the way, so the people from bus 6 will keep you company, description below). The last shuttle there is at 16.20, and from there at 21.00. We rode on local buses number 1 (a decent red one with air conditioning, but the chance of meeting one is negligible) and 6 (crazy bass, everything is open, including the doors, the roof is leaking, and the locals smoke right in the cabin and the conductor lights it for them :) ))). A taxi from Phan Thiet to the hotel costs about 300 thousand VND, if you negotiate - according to the meter, 340-400 thousand. By the way, if you are hoping to call a taxi from the hotel to fishing village, where the Lighthouse and the market are (4 km), then relax - for the sake of such a taxi from the city will not come to you and the administrator will kindly offer you to use either the shuttle (departure at 6:00, return at 8:00) or crazy bass :) Attitude The tour operator (Pegasus) is slightly dismissive of the hotel residents - not many Russian people go there, so our guide, smiling from ear to ear, immediately announced that he had come to us for the first and last time. We had to book excursions out of the blue; we felt a little pressured by our guide’s indifference. He didn’t give us much information either, just at the top - he didn’t know Phan Thiet very well. The excursions turned out to be quite good, although this is already off-topic and has nothing to do with the hotel. As for the work of the hotel administration, everything was at the same level, there were no serious complaints, traditionally in a southern way, leisurely of course, but we didn’t come here to rush). I don’t publish photos because I’m everywhere with my family.

Denis, good afternoon! I haven’t checked this information for a long time, it seems to me that you can negotiate around 20 dollars or 400 dong, even, probably, 15 dollars and 300 dong, respectively. It depends on what kind of car there will be and what kind of driver it will be. I advise you to use bus number 6 (if I remember the number correctly), which goes along Ke Ga to Phan Thiet. And in Phan Thiet itself, in the CoopMart area, there is bus stop number 1 to Mui Ne. This is a very simple, easy, budget way to travel. But when you come back, after dinner, and with a lot of shopping, I advise you to cooperate with someone in advance and rent a taxi to the hotel.

Irina, good afternoon! In fact, this is the beginning of the rainy season in southern Vietnam. For those who don’t know what Ke Ga is, it’s a strip of resorts outside the city of Phan Thiet, towards Ho Chi Minh City, while the most famous close resort to Phan Thiet - Mui Ne. They are simply on opposite sides of Phan Thiet, which is why this entire tourist destination is called Phan Thiet. They confuse people. There is nothing interesting for relaxation in Fantette itself, just two hotels. All hotels are mainly in Mui Ne. A much smaller portion is in Ke Ga. And if Mui Ne is a tourist village with a very well-developed infrastructure and a large selection of cafes, restaurants, spas, then Ke Ga is sort of on the outskirts, with only the sea and emptiness nearby. But not far from hotels local residents They opened small shops and cafes. So not completely naked.
But for shopping you need to go at least to Phan Thiet, which is approximately 25 km. By bus. There are supermarkets Coopmart and Lotte Mart there. And for a choice of cafes and massages, go to Mui Ne, which is another 15 km to the 25.

Irina, good afternoon! Wow you have plans! But I think they are correct! The easiest way to book a ticket is at your hotel, but there is one big problem - as a rule, all slipper buses go through Phan Thiet (from Saigon through Phan Thiet and Mui Ne to Nha Trang). In Mui Ne they pick you up directly from hotels, stop wherever you say, fortunately it is one street along the sea, and in Phan Thiet they can also pick you up in certain places (you will need the help of the Vietnamese for negotiations and purchasing tickets). Nobody drives through Kega. So everything is possible, I see only two problems now - clearly designate the place where they will pick you up, and get to this place in advance, and second - now TET is on the nose, this is Vietnamese New Year, this year on February 19, and there is a problem with tickets. Either everything is sold, or prices instead of 120 dong reach 750. But this can be solved. Good luck in Nha Trang. PM me if you need any more advice or help. https://vk.com/dmitryvietnam

Dmitriy! Good day!
Need advice, help, comment))))
We are traveling with children in early February to
Golden Coast Resort & Spa 4* (on the websites they persistently write that this is Phan Thiet, from your words, and I think this is more correct, this is Mui Ne). We arrive in Nha Trang. And then we begin to jitter imagining the way to the hotel! How can I order a taxi (I found a couple of websites, how accurate and safe is it? Or can I take a taxi directly at the airport? And how will it be cheaper? There are 3+3 of us! And will it be faster than a bus? Or maybe you know a reliable taxi driver? !))) What is there near our hotel in terms of feeding the children and yourself, going for a walk, shops, a pharmacy, buying fruit, etc.? What is the most convenient way for us to visit Vinpearl? By what transport? And maybe you can recommend a hotel in Nha Trang to take a break and then move on. day to return to your hotel? What excursion can we take that is not particularly tiring for children? You write about northern islands(if I'm not mistaken in the name), will they suit us? Really looking forward to your reply! Thank you in advance for your patience and responsiveness)

This is my first time writing a travel review) so don’t judge too harshly. I decided to write because I learned a lot from previous reviews. First of all, I’ll say right away that this hotel is suitable for those who want relaxation, those who need parties are clearly not here. (not to confuse ke gu with Mui Ne) I draw attention to this, since I myself made this mistake in thinking that something in Mui Ne is just around the corner, but in fact it’s a couple of hours by bus, a taxi is a little expensive. I went with my mother (65 years old, I’m 22), both of them were delighted with the hotel, my mother with the flower area, I with the ocean with a swimming pool. I would like to warn you right away that the hotel is excellent for holidays with very young children, whom you can take care of, and they will not need anything else. Older children will be bored; there is no animation in the hotel. Secondly, the food: the hotel breakfasts are excellent, there is a lot of choice, but the dishes do not change from day to day, there are soups, scrambled eggs, and even pancakes, but otherwise the standard set, various meats, fruits, juices, you can make your own toast . BUT YOU SHOULD COME EARLY, breakfast is from 7 to 9.30. We personally had lunch with fruit, but we had dinner at Misha’s cafe, almost all Russians eat there, if you leave the hotel and go to the right, the second cafe looks worse than the first, but the taste and price are much better. The first one is held by Russian Natalya, I advise you NOT to go, she doesn’t add the ingredients, and then she’s rude. Misha, along with the menu, will bring you roasted peanuts, and then fruit as a gift with the check, a small thing, but very nice. Basically we took one side dish, one seafood dish and juices 150-200,000 dong. The water in the room is free (renewed every day), in the refrigerator of course there is a charge, but we got it from there too, then we bought and supplied the same from the supermarket, no one had any complaints.
Thirdly, the beach, we were in December, the waves are very big, you can swim in the sea for up to 11-12 hours and then swim and jump in the waters, then the tide is very high. Regarding the ebb and flow of the tides, the sea really changes a lot, where in the morning there is 20 meters of beach, by the evening the waves reach the pool. Moreover, as far as I understand, there are 2 beaches near the hotel, this one is near the pool, and the second one is to the right of it, but the second one is kind of semi-wild, there is more garbage in the water, and you come across sand flies, which have peculiar bites, at first you don’t feel it, but then It itches, and not all day, but itches for about an hour, then calmly for the whole day, but it takes a very long time. We were advised to save ourselves from them with respirators. There are also these midges on the wild beach on the left (tested on myself). The pool has sea water, which is a big plus for the hotel. As an indicator, at night the waves carry crabs into the pool, and they survive calmly, throwing a couple out in the morning)
Fourthly, the rooms are huge, the views are beautiful, we had room 403 and it was comfortable and clean. But take a fumigator with you and place it in your room at night, because if you sleep with the windows open, someone will bite. And if possible, when you leave your room in the evening, leave the windows closed; one day we found a couple of huge cockroaches. Fifth excursions. We flew with Anex, they are expensive, we took it from Alexey (Vietnamese, studied in Moscow). It is located near the coop market (Phan Thiet). I will describe how to get there later. Alex’s contacts remain, you can knock on the private page on VK (Evgenia Astrikhinskaya), I’ll forward you. They changed money from him, the exchange rate was $100 2,150,000 dong. Alex’s excursions are 2 times cheaper than Anex’s; the Nyachansh-Dalat excursion cost $100 per person (that’s 2x day excursion), just dalat $30, we got a Russian guide, so we really liked it. We also went fishing on our own, from our hotel you can actually walk (about 15 minutes) to the left of the hotel, there will be a hotel located on two parts of the road (double name, it starts with m, I don’t remember exactly) so if you go to the left side of the road, then for 80,000 dong you can go fishing, spinning rods and bait are provided, the Vietnamese will completely help you put it on and cast it. Piranhas and perches are caught, and they are caught very well; each of us caught about 9 fish. After you catch the fish, you can either release it or buy it (120,000 dong per kilogram) they will cook it for you right away for free, just don’t forget to ask for the spicy note, that was our mistake) then they will take you to a restaurant where you your finished fish will be waiting) Transport: the drive to the hotel was really long (6 hours, and the hotel will most likely be the last), but the minibus was quite comfortable, after the plane we slept in it, the rest of the time we admired the surroundings. We brought it to the cafe to eat, the prices were 2 times more expensive. Therefore, I advise you to take something from home with you, and then just go out to the sea. Dollars can be exchanged normally in this cafe. You can get from the hotel to Phan Thiet by shuttle bus, but it costs 20,000 VND; the schedule is available at the reception. Also walks public bus with local flavor 13,000 dong, they go about every half an hour to an hour, go out to the hotel security, and say that you care about Phan Thiet (explain with gestures), after which the security guard gets up to catch the bus, and you sit on a bench in the shade. Color - on the bus, Vietnamese can smoke, stare at you, sit on the floor, and so on. Buy tickets and get off near the coop market, or ask the conductor to show you where it is for the first time, or see where all the Russians get off. Near it, without crossing the road, Alex has a travel agency. There is also a bus to Mui Ne 9ka. But remember that the last 6k towards the hotel goes at about 5-5.30.. That seems to be all, if I remember anything, I’ll add it.

Pros: The hotel offers tourists a quiet and relaxing holiday. The heat at the resort is easily tolerated due to the mild climate.

Minuses: There is a lot of garbage floating in the sea, which makes swimming unpleasant. There are no showers at the hotel pool.

Few people know about the town of Ke Ga (Vietnam). Most often, tourists come here on an excursion from Mui Ne to see the old lighthouse built by the French at the end of the 19th century. But this place is unique even for such exotic country like Vietnam.

How to get there?

The village of Ke Ga on the map of Vietnam is located near Mui Ne (Phan Thiet). However, in reality this distance is not so small, about 30 km. to the south. Besides, public transport in Ke Ga is not developed, you will need to use a taxi service or rent a motorbike. This has both a disadvantage and an advantage of a resort town. On the one hand, from Mui Ne, where all the main entertainment is concentrated, it is quite long and expensive to get to this secluded village, but, on the other hand, such a remote location makes Ke Ga a closed and intimate place where you can enjoy a calm, romantic vacation.

If you decide to take a trip to Ke Ga and get to know the famous old lighthouse which, by the way, is still operational, then you can purchase this excursion in Mui Ne. Several Russian-speaking staff are at your service. tourist offices. You can independently organize a trip to the island with the lighthouse, but in this case, be prepared to first travel fifty kilometers by taxi from Mui Ne, and then rent a boat or boat. If you are lucky and the tide is low during your visit, you can reach the lighthouse on foot in about 15 minutes. If you wish, you can climb to the Kega lighthouse itself (Vietnam), climbing 184 steps up a spiral staircase. Your efforts will be more than rewarded with wonderful photographs that you will certainly take against the backdrop of this, perhaps the most beautiful lighthouse in all of Southeast Asia.

If you have chosen Ke Ga as your holiday destination, it is best to purchase air tickets to Ho Chi Minh City. For organized travelers, travel agencies will provide a transfer to the hotel by bus or car, and independent tourists There will be several options to choose from:

  • get to Phan Thiet city by train, by train station take a taxi and go to the hotel in Ke Ga,
  • get to Phan Thiet by intercity bus, and then again by taxi to the hotel,
  • order a taxi directly from the airport (it’s expensive, but it will save time and effort).

Get ready for quite a long journey. Even by taxi it will take about 6 hours.

Where to stay?

There are enough hotels in Ke Ga (Vietnam), despite the remoteness of the resort and its not very popular. The village is gradually being built up, and soon its infrastructure will become richer and more diverse. But don't be afraid that you'll end up in a " great construction" On the contrary, this place is quiet and secluded, with beautiful landscapes, wide beaches, where you can feel at one with nature.

Another feature of the village: the hotels here are located at a significant distance from each other, which further contributes to silence and tranquility. And you won’t find discos with noisy restaurants in Ke Ga. In that cozy village there are no entertainment places, but there are clean ones sandy beaches and a riot of natural colors.

The choice of hotels is quite wide: from inexpensive to luxury. Best hotels Ke Ga in terms of price-quality ratio are:

Accommodation prices in this resort town are lower than in Mui Ne, this is due to the remoteness of the village from the noise of civilization. And this is another argument to choose Ke Ga for your holiday in Vietnam.

When to go?

The weather in Que Ga (Vietnam) is conducive to long beach season. The sea water temperature does not drop below +23°C (in January), and in May it even heats up to +28°C. Air temperature changes are also not too significant: from +29°C in January (at night to +20°C) to +35°C in summer.

When choosing a vacation time, you need to focus on the rainy season, which begins in June and ends in October. It can be very rainy here at this time. It is better to choose the period from November to February for your holiday. Then clear skies and comfortable temperatures will be guaranteed. In spring there is no rain here either, but it gets quite hot.

Attractions

In the vicinity of the village you can find only two attractions:

  • Ke Ga lighthouse, which was described above.
  • Mount Taku.

Mount Taku is primarily famous for its Reclining Buddha statue. This original image of the deity, about 40 meters long, is visited by thousands of tourists every year. You can get to the Reclining Buddha from the foot of the mountain along cable car and then walk up the stairs.

Things to do in Ke Ga:

  • walks (walking and cycling),
  • fishing (and if you don’t like fishing, be sure to buy it from local fishermen),
  • swimming in the sea and sunbathing,
  • spa treatments.

As you can see, a holiday in Ke Ga promotes peace and unity with nature. But, if you want to see the sights or have a little fun, you can always take a taxi to bustling Phan Thiet.

Having discovered the Ke Ga resort you will receive unforgettable experience from the local natural color! And when you return home, you will probably remember the days spent in this Vietnamese outback as some of the happiest!
