The tallest water slide in the world. Extreme entertainment: the world's tallest water slide Insano in a Brazilian water park The tallest slide in the world Brazil

New tallest water slide in the world June 26th, 2016

Some time ago we discussed. Its height was 41 meters.

Schlitterbahn Water Park opened last year. The steepest slide, Verrückt, reaches 52 meters in height, which is a full half meter higher than the Statue of Liberty. The spiral climb takes professional risk-takers to the very top, where they are divided into teams of 4, seated on rubber rafts and rushed down at a speed of 120 km/h.

Let's take a closer look at it...

Photo 2.

"Verrückt" translated from German means "crazy" - in fact, only crazy extreme sports and thrill-seekers would dare to ride the highest and fastest water slide.

The Verrückt water slide is officially recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest in the world: its height is 51.38 m

Photo 3.

The Verrückt Meg-a-Blaster is a design triumph of insane proportions from Jeff Henry, co-owner and “evil genius” of Schlitterbahn Waterparks. Henry decided he wanted to build a record-breaking slide, which resulted in the creation of "Verrückt".

Photo 4.

“Verrückt” takes four people down in parallel, and as Henry noted, “It’s a lot more fun when someone is screaming next to your ear.” It all starts with a scary fall from a 17-story height and continues with a small climb. And this is more than 180 meters of wet extreme sports. After an initial drop steeper than any ski slope, you reach a second rise five stories high, with new water technology.

Photo 5.

The massive tower around which you'll climb to dizzying heights is made from railroad tanks, cut up and welded together. Builders reuse the material to build the "Verrückt". The attraction differs from Kilimanjaro in that it will be a raft ride and the body will not touch the surface. Although, of course, a raft is not a very comfortable transport when you are flying 50 sheer meters down.

Photo 6.

"Verrückt" is taller than Niagara Falls, the Statue of Liberty (from sandals to torch) and the Tower of London. Not only will it be the world's tallest coaster, but it will also be the steepest and fastest. Henry says that “Verrückt will change the industry. The biggest challenge will be to find extreme sports enthusiasts who will dare to go down.” If you are brave enough, visit Kansas City and challenge yourself!

Incredible facts

At the Schlitterbahn water park in Kansas, USA, there is a water slide called Verruckt (meaning "crazy, crazy" in German).

4 people can go down the raft at once and they will go down at a speed of approximately 104 km/h.

The highest slide

This design claims to be the tallest roller coaster in the world.

At the moment, the exact height of the water slide has not been disclosed, as the official opening is set for May 23, 2014, but it is known that the slide will be approximately the height of a 17-story building.

It is worth noting that so far the tallest slide in the world, included in the Guinness Book of Records, is the Insano slide in the Brazilian amusement park Beach Park in Fortaleza.

While the coaster in Kansas has not opened, you can visit it virtually.

The scariest water slides in the world

Water slides of the world: Insano

The slide owes its name to the crazy descent that causes dizziness. The height of the slide is 41 meters, which is slightly higher than a 14-story building.

Despite the fact that the fun lasts only 4-5 seconds, few can resist accelerating to speeds of more than 100 km/h.

Large water slides: Summit Plummet

Visitors to the Blizzard Beach Water Park, located at Walt Disney World, can't help but miss the 110-meter-long slide, which can ride at a speed of 95 km/h.

Extreme water slides: L2

Those who have already tried this slide think twice before riding it again. It is located in the Austrian water park "Wave die Worgler Wasserwelt" and boasts of being the first double loop water slide.

Water slides: Cliffhanger

This slide from Schlitterbahn Park, Galveston, Texas, rises 25 meters.

It provides people with easy ups and downs. And yet it stands out for its height when compared with similar slides, speed and steep descents on which you can reach speeds of 55 km/h.

The scariest water slide: Scorpion's Tail

"Scorpion's Tail" can be found at Noah's Ark Family Park, Wisconsin. The height of this slide is approximately the height of a 10-story building, and the length is almost 122 meters.

You enter the capsule, the door is closed behind you, and after 3 seconds the floor collapses under you and you, almost from a right angle, begin to “fall” down, accelerating at a speed of about 15 meters per second. The only thing that slows down the fall is the loop of the slide. Among other things, you can perfectly see everything that is happening outside, because... The slide is made of transparent fiberglass.

Did you know that the tallest water slide is comparable to the height of a 15-story building? Have you ridden one?

Height 33 m

The attraction, opened in the summer of 2013 in the Spanish Aqualandia park in Benidorm, ranks 7th in the list of tall water slides. The extreme attraction consists of two descents: the first is 33 meters high, and the second, lower, is 28 meters. Those wishing to make the descent are transported to the top in a transparent sealed capsule. Under the feet of the daredevil, by pressing a button, a hatch opens and the descent begins, during which the person reaches speeds of up to 100 km/h.

VertiGO has gained fame as the tallest water capsule slide in Europe.

Height 33 m

Jumeirah Sceirah Wild Wadi Waterpark is ranked as the 6th tallest water slide in the world. This is one of the best and extreme attractions in Dubai. Height 41 m

Third place in the list of the tallest water slides in the world belongs to the 41-meter one. It is located in the Brazilian Beach Park water park. Only a madman would dare to descend from the height of a 14-story building, which is why the slide, translated from Portuguese, is called “Mad.” The descent from an almost vertical slide takes about 5 seconds. The speed of a person sliding down it reaches 105 km/h.

Height 49 m

In 2nd place among the highest water slides in the world is the attraction located in the Brazilian water park Aquas Quentes Country Club. The inclination angle of Kilimanjaro is 60 degrees, and this allows those descending to reach enormous speeds of up to 100 km/h.

Height 51 m

The first place in the list of the highest water slides in the world is occupied by an extreme attraction located in the Schlitterbahn Water Park, Kansas City, USA, which opened several years ago.

To make the extreme descent from the top of the Verruckt slide, thrill-seekers will have to overcome a spiral climb consisting of almost 300 steps. The height of the slide is 51 meters 40 centimeters, which approximately corresponds to the height of a 17-story building. To better understand the grandeur of the structure, it can be compared with the Statue of Liberty - the height of the statue itself without a pedestal is 46 meters.

The average speed of descent from the hill is 105 km/h. The extreme attraction is made in the form of a wave - once at the bottom, the raft with water park visitors, due to acceleration, begins to quickly rise to the height of a five-story building.

Unfortunately, there was an accident associated with the highest water slide - a 10-year-old boy died while descending from the main attraction of the water park, the Verruckt slide. Since the opening of the attraction, only children over 14 years old and at least 137 cm tall were allowed on it. Probably, the rules were later relaxed. The police did not disclose the details of the tragedy.
