Moscow gourmets are having a big holiday - the main gastronomic festival of the year, “Golden Autumn,” has started in the capital. Its sites will open throughout the city, offering guests fresh farm products from all over the country, as well as fish, meat and cheese delicacies, delicious surprises from restaurants and a large entertainment program. RG correspondents carefully studied the menu for the coming days and drew up a route to the main points of the festival.

Cheese days

Gastronomic diversity awaits Muscovites at a dozen venues, not counting regional fairs. There will be only five main points in the center: on Manezhnaya and Revolution Square, in the transition between them, as well as near the Central Department Store on Kuznetsky Most and on Tverskaya Square. Everything is within walking distance, so you can visit everywhere in a few hours. And there is a reason to change locations - each site will have its own original features.

For example, the main cheese fair of the festival will open on Kuznetsky Most - there will be varieties such as stracciatella, scamorza, burrata, not to mention Camembert and Gorgonzola. The organizing committee says that from September 28 to October 2, farmers from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Altai Territory, Moscow, Lipetsk, Yaroslavl, Tver and Smolensk regions. And from October 3 to 7, part of the shelves will be occupied by products from Tatarstan, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod, Chelyabinsk and Ulyanovsk regions. In addition to cheese, they will offer farm milk, kefir, fermented baked milk, sour cream and butter.

Don't like dairy products? Then try fish on the site between Manezhnaya and Revolution Square. Three tents will be erected here, where you can buy Murmansk cod and flounder, Far Eastern pink salmon and chum salmon, as well as mackerel, halibut, omul, nelma and much more. They also promise a large selection of unusual canned fish - for example, whitefish meatballs with vegetables and freshwater fish meatballs in tomato sauce.

A separate, fourth tent will be made into a restaurant with an emphasis also on fish dishes. The site will be decorated with original compositions of pumpkins and flowers - this time they will be dedicated to fairy tales. They will build, for example, a “Magic Ship” from the fairy tale of the same name and a “space landscape” from “The Secret of the Third Planet.” In total, more than 100 tons of pumpkins and about 10 thousand living plants are used to decorate the festival grounds - some of them were left over from the Flower Jam festival.

Delicious lessons

The organizers also took care of homebodies who do not want to go to the center - five sites will be located in the districts, and they will not be inferior to the central ones. A “House of Ceramics” will open on Profsoyuznaya Street near the Novye Cheryomushki metro station, where children can paint ceramic dishes with autumn landscapes, and at the same time come up with the design of a flower vase and learn how to work with decorative glaze. Does your child have culinary skills? Then send it to local school young chef - here children will be taught how to prepare desserts from Altai wild berries, make Siberian dumplings and make jam from Karelia fir cones.

Residents of Zelenograd, who live especially far from Moscow, also don’t have to worry - they will open their own cooking school, or rather, an entire “culinary college.” Young guests will be introduced to popular autumn recipes and told about beneficial properties seasonal products and learn how to cook them. “The children will prepare with their own hands an amazing dessert of Bashkir honey cheese with chocolate and pistachios, a delicious stew of homemade noodles with wild mushrooms and a hearty farmer’s burger with Borodino bread,” the organizers share their secrets.

Infographics "RG" / Leonid Kuleshov / Alexander Meleshenko

In general, district playgrounds will be mainly aimed at children, so that parents do not need to travel with them to the center. For example, on Dmitry Donskoy Boulevard they will set up a “Forest Shop” - it will be a corner of nature and creativity. Kids will be taught how to work with wood - craftsmen will work with them to decorate a cutting board using the pyrography technique, make stylish wall clocks and other useful things. For those who cannot imagine life without a computer, the “Science & Co” space will also open there - its schedule includes master classes on computer animation, video editing and even public speaking for novice bloggers. Experienced teachers will also demonstrate spectacular chemical and physical experiments here.

Children will not be bored on Gorodetskaya Street either - here in the “magic room” they will make an anti-stress ball with their own hands, assemble a postman owl from felt and make a notebook with an aged cover. At this time, parents will be able to try pike perch fish soup or flounder cooked over an open fire in restaurant chalets. And as a drink, a delicious symbol of the coming autumn - pumpkin latte - is ideal.

Festival discounts

In addition to traditional venues, many food markets, interregional and regional fairs and chain stores will also take part in the festival - they will add seasonal products to their assortment and offer discounts. Prices at all venues will traditionally be low - it is no coincidence that last year Muscovites bought up 180 tons of meat, fish and cheese as part of the festival.

More than 100 tons of pumpkins and about 10 thousand live plants are used to decorate festival grounds.

Imeretinsky cheese, for example, will be sold for 550 rubles per kilogram - this variety is generally not easy to find in stores, and it usually costs around a thousand rubles for the same kilogram. And for the original soft cheese, covered with a thin crust of white mold, “Crazy Moon” at festival sites they will ask for 300 rubles for a 200-gram package. A bottle of farm-made thermostatic fermented baked milk can be purchased for 100 rubles.

The price tags for fish are also quite affordable - cold-smoked butterfish will sell for 225 rubles per package, mackerel fillets will cost 130 rubles per kilogram, and a kilo of uncut chilled ruff will cost 125 rubles.

Meanwhile

The festival sites will traditionally not only sell food, but also serve ready-made food - 40 catering establishments will present their autumn menus. The organizing committee of the RG festival said that many dishes and drinks will be very original.

For example, on Revolution Square they will prepare baked guinea fowl with apricots, duck fillet with sea buckthorn and juniper, stewed veal with rye bread and baked vegetables, and wash it all down with a variety of mint drinks: the spicy plant will be added to kvass, tea, lemonade and smoothies.

Soup lovers should head to Gorodetskaya Street - they will make broccoli and cauliflower puree soup, pumpkin puree soup with chicken broth, as well as cheese soup with herbs and mushrooms. They also promise a large selection of lemonades: cherry with lemon, ginger with orange and lingonberries.

It will also be delicious on Profsoyuznaya Street - they will cook pumpkin soup with basil and sunflower seeds, fry chicken breast kebab in honey-mustard sauce, and prepare pumpkin petals with honey and walnuts.
