Dombay mineral water airport how to get there. Mineral waters - Dombay. Approximate prices for transfers from the airport and train station, as well as from some other cities

I am an ideal employee). I take vacations in winter because I love skiing. On one of my vacations I went for a ride and looked at the famous flying saucer). You could say my journey began from Mineralnye Vody, where I arrived by plane.

By car

The shortest and good route in goes along the roads A157 and A155. The route will not let you get bored, beautiful landscapes will accompany you throughout the trip. First you will pass through Essentuki, and later Karachaevsk.

Basically, the road is narrow and not without dangers; often it runs along a cliff. It is not recommended to drive along it at night, especially since in some areas there is no mobile connection. In winter, take chains, a shovel, a flashlight, a cable and other things necessary in case of force majeure. As our driver said, you shouldn’t calculate the travel time; in winter, anything can happen. A lot of snow can fall overnight and the journey will take 4 hours, although the distance is 200 km.
The nature reserve begins in Teberda; tolls are often collected here, although hiking trails are considered paid in summer and autumn. The fare is taken not only from cars, but from all cars, it costs 100 rubles, ask for a receipt, they must provide it to you.

By taxi

More often I go to public transport, but sometimes I allow myself a taxi, a trip with skis is exactly the case. Ordering a car from Mineralnye Vody to Dombay will cost 3,000 rubles, but remember that the luggage of four passengers will not fit into the trunk, and skis even more so. Therefore, I advise you to order a minivan; this pleasure will cost 5,000 rubles. The amount is not so scary if it is divided among several people, because the minivan can accommodate 6 passengers. For the same price, you can pick up a minibus for a large group, then the trip will be even cheaper. There are also prefabricated transfers for independent travelers who want to share a taxi company. Such services are provided by some companies that collect groups at the airport or train station.

By bus

If I decided to travel by bus, I would have to make 2 transfers. First, from the airport you need to get to the bus station, to it the bus is coming No. 11. Flights operate regularly, from 6:30 to 8 pm, every 15-25 minutes. There is a final stop near the airport, and the trip takes 10 minutes, making it convenient to travel with luggage. The bus station is located near the Ruslan market (Sovetskaya St., 97), visible from the road.

From here buses to Teberda leave daily at 14:45, the schedule can be found below.
The route is not laid along the shortest road, so you arrive in Teberda after 6 hours and this is not the end of the trip! There are still 20 km left to Dombay. Here you can transfer to the Cherkessk-Dombay minibus, but the latter leaves from the final station at 15:20 and by the time the bus from Mineralnye Vody arrives it has already passed Teberda. The only ones left are the taxi drivers guarding this evening bus, there are enough of them here, but I would write down a couple of phone numbers just in case, because it’s late.

Buying tickets

Bus tickets are sold at the ticket office or on the carrier's website. You can pay for travel on public transport from the driver.

Price

  • The airport-bus station bus costs 15 rubles.
  • Bus Mineralnye Vody - Teberda - 460 rubles.
  • Taxi 400 rubles.

Conclusion

Railway not in Dombay, I didn’t even consider this option. To get by without a taxi, you can get from Mineralnye Vody to Cherkessk, and then transfer to a bus to.

By personal car

If you have wondered how to get from Moscow to Dombay, then we will answer it for you. The first option is, naturally, by private car. The road there will be long, about a day, because the distance between the cities is 1600 km. You will drive along the M4 “Don” highway and you will pass through such cities as Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Cherkessk.

Buses and trains

Understanding the question of how to get from Moscow to Dombay, we can offer two more types ground transport such as buses and trains. The first ones will take longer than the option with personal car. Buses from Moscow to your destination from travel agencies cost from 2,300 rubles, and the duration of the trip takes more than a day. This option is quite inconvenient, except for the beautiful views that accompany you along the entire path. As for the train, you can get from the northern capital to Nevinnomyssk on the branded Kavkaz train in just 21 hours. Other trains take from 25 to 38 hours, and the cheapest tickets cost from 2,500 rubles.

We talk about our vacation in Dombay and how much the trip costs: prices for hotels, food and ski lifts in 2019, as well as for excursions and travel to the resort.

The oldest ski resort in our country is worth visiting at least once. And although the infrastructure leaves much to be desired, the nature in the vicinity of the resort is beyond praise.

Automobile

A trip to Dombay by car is one of the most convenient ways to get to the resort, we chose it. The road is good, except for the section from Kislovodsk to Karachaevsk. There are sections being repaired between Cherkessk and Karachaevsk. There is no gas station in Dombay, refuel in Teberda.

Personal experience. We vacationed in Dombay twice in the off-season (October 2016 and 2018). For the first time we lived in a beautiful place for 1600 rubles per day. The hotel was carefully chosen based on reviews. The price-quality ratio is ideal, it’s quiet, the owners are sincere, the food is very tasty. There was always hot water and independent heating, and this was our main criterion when choosing a hotel in the cool season.

It's nice to ride on the old Soviet ski lifts in Dombay, especially with warm tea.

How to choose a hotel for a holiday in Dombay:

  • If you find a hotel at a discount on the website, it is better to book, since without a reservation the price for a room will be 300-500 rubles higher.
  • Carefully read the reviews of other tourists: there helpful information about the Internet, heating and hot water - there are problems with this in Dombay.
  • In the off-season, choose a hotel with independent heating.
  • Vacationers from Stavropol and Krasnodar region. They make it noisy, there are no parking spaces, and the hotels are overcrowded.
  • If you are driving, check about parking.

We treat waterfalls without unnecessary trepidation, but we love Chuchkhur waterfalls. They are especially beautiful when framed in gold. The streams fall down in cascades from about 250 meters in height. You can feel the power of mountain rivers here!

Prices for a ski pass in Dombay in 2019 for a new ski lift (RUB):

Screenshot from the site dombaj.ru.

We chose the old one Soviet lift because of obvious advantages: excellent visibility and a dose of extreme sports (the chairs breathe badly, creak, there is not always protection). Price - 250 rubles per person for one turn (round trip), that is, 1000 rubles for all ascents and descents. We were a little unlucky, and on that day there was a planned power outage in the village, so all the cable cars were running on generators, and during the ascent on the first stage we were completely stuck halfway. The rise is up to 3002 meters, further to the top you can easily climb on foot.

Is there some more "Yugoslavka"- a double chairlift, which duplicates the fifth stage of the Soviet ski lift, but the final station is slightly lower than the 5th. Price - 100 rubles for an adult, 150 for a child under 13 years old, ticket for 1 day - 500 rubles.

On the pendulum cable car there are 2 red carriages, which can accommodate up to 35 people each. They go to the slope of Mussa-Achitara. The cost for tourists is 300 rubles, for skiers - 200, for children under 10 years old - 150, and for children under 5 years old - free.

Hiking to the top of Mussa-Achitara - the elevation gain will be approximately 100 meters. You can get up in 15-20 minutes.

Prices for equipment rental in Dombay

We saw a lot of signs advertising equipment rentals both in the village itself and at the stations cable cars, so you don't have to worry about it. It also doesn’t cost anything to rent equipment at a hotel - almost every hotel does this kind of business.

Thus, you can go on vacation to Dombay lightly. Prices for equipment rental in 2019 are as follows: a standard set (sticks, boots, skis or snowboard) costs from 500 rubles per day, goggles - from 200 rubles, gloves - from 150, overalls - from 250 rubles. Deposit - passport or money.

Instructor services usually cost from 1,500 rubles per hour.

Prices for food in Dombay in cafes and shops

Prices for food in Dombay in summer and winter are almost the same and depend on the level of the establishment. You can save a little on your trip to Dombay by choosing a hotel with breakfast included, which is what we did - we highly recommend the hotel. We lived there for 5 days. Breakfasts are served very hearty, varied, there is always a main dish (for example, we had porridge, khychin, buckwheat with sausage, dumplings, omelet), tea and pastries.

Prices in cafes and restaurants Dombaya in 2019:

  • River and lake trout - from 250 rubles per serving (usually one large fish).
  • Khychins - from 130-200 per piece. You can’t guess with them: they are small with meager filling, and sometimes they are so big that even two people can’t handle them at a time.
  • Mountain-style meat and Karachay-style meat - from 250 rubles.
  • A kettle of mountain tea with honey or jam - from 150 rubles per 0.5 liter.
  • Lagman and shurpa - 150-250 rubles per serving (lagman can be quite spicy).

You can eat in a cafe for 500-1000 rubles for two. The Metelitsa cafe on the main street offers business lunches for 300-350 rubles. There are also many cafes and restaurants at the cable car stations; the cost of food there is higher.

Our hike to the Alibek glacier. Take a thermos with hot tea and some snacks on every trip.

Prices for products in stores Dombaya is like in small provincial shops. The cost of some products, mainly fruits, is overestimated by about 20%:

  • Tangerines (kg) - from 130 rubles.
  • Kefir and milk (1 l) - from 70 rubles.
  • Lavash - from 20 rubles.
  • Khychiny (pieces) - from 100 rubles.

Excursions, entertainment, routes

There is no shortage of excursions and entertainment - holidays in Dombay are very diverse. Prices in 2019:

  • ATV rental - about 2000 rubles;
  • guide services - from 1000 rubles per group;
  • fishing - from 500 rubles per person;
  • horse riding tours - from 1000 rubles per person per day of riding.

There is one caveat: if you are going to explore the surrounding area, you will have to apply for a pass to the border zone - the village is surrounded by Teberdinsky biosphere reserve, in addition, the border with Abkhazia passes nearby. Previously, it had to be done in advance (2-3 days in advance) in Cherkessk, but now you can get it directly from the forester on the route for free. We got it done in just 5 minutes; you need to have your passport with you and fill out a form.

All routes in the reserve are paid. Here are the cost of admission to the most popular attractions:

  • Chuchkhur waterfalls - 150 rubles per person;
  • Amanauz gorge, to the Devil's Mill and Sofrudzhinsky waterfall - 100 rubles;
  • Gonachkhir gorge - 150 rubles per person;
  • Alibek glacier and waterfall - 100 rubles per person.

The Chuchkhur glacier is located a few kilometers from the waterfalls.
There are many bears in the vicinity of Dombay, but, according to locals, they are not aggressive or dangerous. We found this bear track on Mount Toguzkelbashi.

Greetings, dear friends! The topic of our conversation today is how to get from Moscow to Dombay in different ways.

Dombay is a resort in the North Caucasus. Over decades of tourist life, a small village has turned into a mountain all-season resort with a well-developed infrastructure.

The village of Dombay is located at an altitude of 1650 meters above sea level. At an equal distance from it, just 65 kilometers, are the Elbrus region and the Black Sea coast.

In most cases, it is impossible to get to Dombay from Moscow directly. You will have to change trains at one of the major cities region.

We will consider in detail all the possibilities of getting to the Dombay resort with maximum comfort and minimal loss of time.

In this article:

By plane via Minvody

Stage 1 - airplane

The closest airport to the Dombay resort is Mineralnye Vody.

It is located 250 kilometers from the resort. You can fly there from Moscow various airlines and at any time of the day. Flights operate daily from the capital's airports:

  • Domodedovo,
  • Vnukovo,
  • Sheremetyevo.

Travel time from Moscow to Mineralnye Vody is about two hours.

The cost of a one-way ticket in economy class is about 5 thousand rubles. See the exact cost and flight schedule right here.

The air terminal in Minvody is small, it’s impossible to get lost. Everything is located very conveniently, there are many signs.

Stage 2

The fastest way

For those who value speed and comfort and are not used to the inconvenience of public transport, taking a taxi would be the best solution.

Moreover, if you arrive in Minvody at night, you won’t be able to get away with anything other than a taxi.

On station square, opposite the exits from the arrivals sector of the airport terminal, there are taxi stands.

Be prepared for local taxi drivers to jack up their prices.

Travel time from Minvod airport to Dombay is about 3.5 hours. Distance – 250 kilometers. Cost of the trip: from 3000 rubles. Exact taxi cost can be found here.

Do not use unlicensed carriers. Take your car only to designated official parking lots. A trip with a random driver can end in unpleasant adventures and will never be cheaper than an official taxi.

By bus

If you prefer to continue your journey by public transport, you will need to get to the city first.

From Minvod airport to the city there is minibus No. 11. Its stop is located near the taxi stands. The stop pavilion is clearly visible from the baggage claim section of the airport terminal.

The minibus service interval is 15-20 minutes. Travel time is about 25 minutes. Opening hours – from 06.00 to 22.00.

The minibus makes stops:

  • on bus station Minvod,
  • at the station railway station area.

To get to Dombay, you should get off at the railway station and take the Gulliver bus. True, they do not go all year round, but only in the winter months - from December to March.

The fare is 800-900 rubles. The price includes transportation:

  • one piece of luggage,
  • one pair of skis,
  • one board.

Departure time from the Minvod railway station is 05.00-06.00 (depending on occupancy). Travel time is 4-5 hours.

If this bus does not suit you, you can get off minibus number 11 at the bus station and take the bus going to Teberda.

Quite a lot of flights depart towards Teberda per day; as a rule, there are no queues for them.

It is better to check the exact schedule and ticket prices at the bus station ticket office.

In Teberda you will need to take a minibus to the bus station in the village of Dombay, or take a taxi. A Teberda-Dombay taxi will cost you 300-350 rubles.

By train via Minvody

Stage 1

Those who do not like to fly by plane can travel in the direction of Dombay by rail.

There are many trains from Moscow towards the KavMinvod resorts. You will only need to choose the one that is more suitable in terms of price and service. There are trains “Moscow - Kislovodsk”, and there are also trains that not only run between Moscow and the KMS resorts, but also go further - to other cities of the North Caucasus Federal District.

Trains depart from:

  • Kazansky,
  • Paveletsky,
  • Kursky,
  • Moscow

stations of the capital.

Travel time is 27-30 hours. The cost of a one-way ticket is from 3100 rubles. Exact cost and train schedule you can find out here.

The train stops are quite long, but you should prepare in advance for the exit: a lot of people get off, and almost all of them have large luggage.

Stage 2

Once you find yourself at the Minvod train station, you have several options to get to Dombay.

The first is to take a taxi (see prices and type of cars).

The second is a direct bus.

The direct bus “Minvody – Dombay” stops at the station square of the Minvody railway station. It is written about above.

It departs from Post office stops towards the railway station (visible from the station square). To get there, exit the station square onto XXII Party Congress Avenue and walk about 50 meters.

On other days, use the third method - the services of the bus station and buses to Teberda. How to get to the Minvod bus station, read above.

By train via Kislovodsk (the most convenient)

This is the most convenient, fastest and inexpensive way, in my opinion.

Stage 1

You can travel from Moscow to Kislovodsk by train. The final stop is Kislovodsk railway station.

See the exact cost of train tickets here on this site.

Stage 2

Bus from Kislovodsk

The bus station from which you can leave is located on the station square of the Kislovodsk railway station. Once upon a time it was formed spontaneously, since the main station is located outside the city, in an inconvenient place, and is not very comfortable.

To this day, there are no canopies or ticket offices on the square of the railway station. But the variety of flights cannot but please.

Buses to Teberda leave quite often. Tickets can be purchased from the driver.

There is also sightseeing buses to Dombay. They are also waiting for their passengers on the station square. For around 1,000 rubles you can not only go to a resort, but also listen to a guide who will tell you about the advantages and nuances of a mountain holiday.

By train via Nevinnomyssk

Stage 1

Trains from Moscow go to this station. Schedule and prices look here.

Stage 2

By bus

Nevinnomyssk is the closest to the Dombay resort railroad station. But it is impossible to get directly from it to Dombay. You will have to make two more transfers.

First you need to get from Nevinnomyssk to Cherkessk. The bus station is not very close to the railway station. Get on at the train station:

  • buses
    • №3
  • minibuses

At the bus station you will need a bus to Cherkessk.

Travel time is 1.5 hours. Ticket price and schedule look here.

In Cherkessk you will have another transfer - to Dombay.

By train

If you arrive at the station early in the morning, you can go directly from Nevinnomyssk station to Cherkessk by train.

It leaves at 05.55. Travel time is 1.5 – 2 hours.

In Cherkessk you will need to change to a minibus to Dombay, as described above.

By bus from Moscow to Dombay

For those who do not like transfers, are not in too much of a hurry and want to spend not too much money on travel, there is an option to get from Moscow to Dombay by direct bus.

Such a trip will take a lot of time, but you won’t have to change trains and carry luggage with you.

Buses to Dombay are comfortable and modern. They are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable trip.

Buses from Bus-Travel They depart once a week, on Fridays. Departure time is 07.30.

Location – Kazansky railway station, Ryazansky lane, 13, building 1.

The ticket price is about 3 thousand rubles.

Buses of the company "Anchor" They also go towards Dombay once a week, on Fridays.

Departure time is 09:00. Location: Krasnogvardeyskaya bus station.

Dombay is a resort that has been known for quite a long time, but began to develop quite recently. Gradually, new modern hotels and tourist centers, new slopes are being built, and flagship equipment for skiing is being purchased.

Dombay is gradually approaching world standards and more and more resembles well-equipped and well-maintained Alpine resorts.

The main advantage of Dombay over the Alps:

  • relatively low prices
  • no need for a visa
  • Russian-speaking staff and instructors

Dombay, which has fame ski resort, actually good at any time of the year. Those who come there in the summer enjoy horseback riding, hang gliding, and participate in hiking over the mountains.

The airplane is one of the most simple ways get to Dombay from Moscow and St. Petersburg. It is best to fly to Min. Water. You can also fly to Nalchik, Vladikavkaz, Krasnodar, but the distance from these cities to Dombay is much greater, so we choose Mineralnye Vody.

How to get from the airport or train station directly to Dombay? Possible options:

  1. Shuttle Buses;
  2. Taxi;

Read more about them below.

Buses

Perhaps the bus is the most unfortunate way to get to Dombay from Moscow, and even more so from St. Petersburg. Coming from the capital, you will spend more than a day on the road and will probably be very tired from such a trip. A one-way ticket for buses to Dombay from Moscow from travel agencies costs from 2,300 rubles. Expensive and inconvenient.

Automobile

The distance from Moscow to Dombay is 1600 km. The path runs along the excellent M4 Don highway - you can drive quickly and easily, but it’s boring ( picturesque landscapes don’t wait until the very foothills of the Caucasus). The route runs through Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, Armavir, Nevinnomyssk, Cherkessk.

Tour package

There is another interesting way to get to Dombay easily and inexpensively - buy a ready-made tour package. The price will already include flights, transfer to the resort (not always, please check!), accommodation, insurance and meals (if provided). Convenient and simple - you don’t need to delve into the nuances of the complex and contradictory southern Russian transport system yourself.

Cost of tours for two people with departure from Moscow:

  • 3 nights - from 16 thousand rubles;
  • 5 nights - from 20 thousand rubles;
  • 7 nights - from 26 thousand rubles.

From an economic point of view, going to Dombay on a tour (at least from Moscow) is quite profitable.

To Dombay from Min. Vod, Kislovodsk, Nevinnomyssk

Personal car

Distance from Min. Vod to Dombay - 200 km, from Kislovodsk - 160 km. Roads: A157 and A155. The distance from Nevinnomyssk is 180 km along the A155 highway. The road surface is not the best on the section between Kislovodsk and Karachaevsk (especially on the outskirts of the latter), but there are excellent views along the way, including Elbrus. Then from Karachaevsk to Dombay itself there is simply an excellent route with perfect new asphalt (as of autumn 2016).

The advantage of traveling by private car is obvious - you will be able to stop along the way at points with especially picturesque panoramic views, and there will be many of them. About our personal experience trips to Dombay by car, I will write a separate report.

On a note: About halfway from Karachaevsk to Dombay is the city of Teberda - you can visit the zoo there.

Rent a Car

If you do not have personal transport, but the spirit of freedom independent travel persistently demands to have a car at his disposal, then you can rent a car. Convenient search cars for rent - Skyscanner Car Hire.

Taxi/transfer

If personal transport is not needed, you can order a transfer or taxi. We recommend searching for and booking a transfer on the service - you choose the route, the car of the required class and capacity, and at the airport at the appointed time the driver will meet you with a sign. The estimated time it takes to get from Mineralnye Vody airport to Dombay is 3 hours. As a transfer vehicle, you can choose a sedan, minivan or minibus with a capacity of up to 19 people.

It is better to book a taxi in advance; taxi drivers at the airport, as usual, will inflate the price.

Buses

From Mineralnye Vody, Kislovodsk, Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol and other large cities in southern Russia and the Caucasus, both regular buses from bus stations and private carriers (for example, “Gulliver”) run to Dombay and Teberda. One way ticket from Min. Water to Dombay costs from 850 rubles (as you can see, the price is comparable to an individual transfer per person). There are both direct buses to Dombay, and flights only to Teberda (from there you will need to take another bus or taxi). Travel by regular buses to Teberda is cheaper.

On a note: if you decide to go to Dombay or Teberda on regular buses from Mineralnye Vody, Kislovodsk, etc., we recommend checking the current schedule by calling the bus station of the desired city.

To Dombay from Volgograd

Distance - 800 km. You can get to Dombay from Volgograd along the highway through Elista, Stavropol, Cherkessk.

I recommend staying for a day in Elista, the capital of Kalmykia, admiring the Buddhist architecture, visiting the datsan ( Golden Abode of Buddha Shakyamuni with the tallest Buddha statue in Europe) and try national cuisine Kalmyks. The steppe landscapes of Kalmykia are also very interesting, but, alas, the quality of the road surface is average. We drove this road in October, returning home from the Caucasus.

What is the best way to get to Dombay?

Choose a method based on your goals, budget, available time and location.

  1. If you live in the south of Russia, then you can get to the resort by private car or buses.
  2. If in your plans big Adventure around the Caucasus, and visiting Dombay is only part of it, you definitely need to either go by car or rent one on the spot - many places in the Caucasus cannot be reached without personal transport.
  3. If you only have a few days or a week at your disposal, and your plans are only to ride along the slopes of the Dombay Mountains, then it is better to choose a plane. You can fly either independently or on a tour - inexpensively and quickly.
