Hunting rules and terms in spring 2017

Any self-catchers that can be used for spring game bird hunting are prohibited. Electronic devices that produce sounds similar to those emanating from wild animals should not be used.

When hunting, boats can only be used to collect hunted game, but it is prohibited to use them to search, track, pursue or catch the game itself.

It is illegal to conduct a spring woodcock hunt during the morning draft. You can use this approach method on this hunt only when hunting wood grouse during the current. You cannot hunt greylag geese in spring.

The use of hunting birds for game birds during this period is prohibited, but hunting dogs can only be used as gundogs to search for wounded birds or retrieve already killed game.

It is prohibited to hunt female ducks, wood grouse and black grouse. Hunting for coot, hazel grouse, and moorhen is also prohibited. Let me remind you once again that hunting greylag goose in spring is prohibited, so be very careful.

The dates for which the spring hunt of 2017 opens are regulated by a specific order. For some regions, the opening date is clearly defined, but some areas of the country do not have such certainty, since the connection depends on the weather.

The hunting period in the spring will last for 10 calendar days. As for specific dates, there are slight changes compared to those that were last year.

For example, in the Kaliningrad region, hunting in the spring is planned to take place from March 15 to March 24. The Moscow region will open its doors to hunters from April 15 to 24, the Republic of Adygea from March 11 to 20.

In the Republic of Bashkortostan it will be possible to hunt from April 22 to May 1, but the Republic of Dagestan and the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic are happy to welcome hunters from March 1 to 10.

In the Republic of Kalmykia, spring hunting dates range from March 11 to March 20. In the Stavropol Territory you can hunt white-fronted goose, mallard drake and woodcock from March 11 to 20.

The timing of this year's hunt in all other regions of Russia remains the same as it was last season.
