Looking for romance. Where are the most beautiful sunsets in Bali? The most beautiful sunsets in Bali El Cabron – restaurant and beach club on the cliff

  • Surfing. Bali (Kuta beach) is considered the best place to learn to surf. To come here and not try to stand on a board, in my opinion, is the same as seeing the sea for the first time and not swimming. The best surf school in Bali-Prosurfschool
  • Sunsets. Bali has incredibly beautiful sunsets; every evening many tourists and locals come to the beach to enjoy the wonderful view. The sunset is best observed from Potato Head, Kudeta, La plancha - there you can also grab a cocktail or freshly squeezed juice and after this you definitely won’t be able to say that you haven’t fallen in love with Bali. You can also have a picnic on the beach - it’s also very romantic and unforgettable.
  • Go on excursions. Bali is an incredibly beautiful island with its culture. It is a must to go on 1-2 excursions around the island.
  • Spa. This is a separate topic; there are many salons offering spa services at every step. Massages cost $5 and up. The range of services is very diverse. From a simple Balinese body massage to various packages including full body massage, body wraps, flower baths and more. From the golden mean - AMO SPA is located on Jalan (which means street) Petitenget, opposite the W Hotel.
  • View Bali. It's a must. Indonesia, like many countries, has its own extraordinary history and culture. Bali is no exception. You should definitely see a couple of temples. I advise you to travel to East and North Bali. Eat seafood in Jimbaran. Jimbaran is famous for having the most delicious seafood on the island. You arrive at the restaurant, choose what you want to try (lobster, shrimp, fish, crayfish, mussels) and sit down at the table. The fact is that all the restaurants in Jimbaran are located right on the beach, and the airport is nearby. And believe me, if you get there around 6 o’clock, you will not only enjoy the amazing taste of seafood, but also see the sunset. You won't be able to forget this, I guarantee it.
  • And once again food! I also recommend visiting the restaurants Ultimo (Italian cuisine), Sushi Tei (Japanese), Biku (they make very tasty pies and yoghurt soup), Passargad (Iranian cuisine with unusually tasty kebab and the best hookah on the island).
  • Shopping. As my friend said, “In Bali you have to take money separately for clothes.” The choice is unusually large. You can come here without anything at all and buy everything locally, while spending several times less than in Moscow. A large selection of clothes for swimming, surf clothes (Billabong and Rip curl stores are at every turn), at the market you can buy super chip clothing for the beach, and for relaxation this is the best (dresses - $5, T-shirts - $4, shorts - 4 dollars), but if you like something more original and unusual, then Oberoi and Legian streets are for you - this is a real paradise for a shopaholic. Here, each store has its own design and its own zest in the products. And just walking around without buying anything, believe me, will be difficult. There are dresses from $40, there are men's and children's clothing. I recommend Religion and Skin on Jalan Oberoi. Python bags (meaning made from python skin and not only) and boots and other leather items in a large assortment at reasonable prices at the intersection Jl.Legian - Jl. Dhiana Pura is Roy's shop.
  • Clubs. Undoubtedly, older couples can skip this paragraph, but if you are young and energetic, then there are a lot of places where you can spend an incendiary night. For those who like rock straight to Espresso bar (Kuta), for those who like reggae, a great bar is Reggi Bar, which is also located in Kuta. Of course, at least once, but you should definitely go to the Bounty and Sky Garden clubs (single girls will especially like this type of club life, where you can meet Australian surfers for every taste ;-) and have a blast in the literal sense of the word. And on Fridays and Saturdays, Seminyak clubs open for you, but there you won’t meet guys in shorts, you have to go there a little dressed up, there is no face control as such, but if you come in flip-flops, shorts and a T-shirt, you will feel out of place plate. The whole Bali crowd hangs out here, girls in dresses and heels, boys, usually in pants and shirts.
  • Go to a surf spot in Uluwatu, besides the fact that Uluwatu has very beautiful landscapes, if you arrive there in the evening, you just need to go down the stairs and right on the coastal cliff you can sit down in some cafe, enjoy the sunset, and at the same time see how real pro surfers ride. Uluwatu is considered one of the best surf spots in Bali and has good waves.
  • Visit the Gili Islands. Frankly, in Bali you will not see snow-white beaches (unless in the East of Bali there is a virgin beach), that’s where the really white beaches and blue ocean are like in the bounty pictures - these are the islands of Gili Trawangan, Meno, Air. There are no police and no bikes or cars on these islands. Everyone gets around on foot or by bicycle. It's quiet and peaceful, but if you want to party a bit, go to Gili Trawangan. On site you can find bungalows or hotel rooms starting from $20, or stay in villas.

By expenses:

  • bike rental - 5 dollars per day
  • The average restaurant bill for lunch is $5 or more
  • visa on arrival - 25 dollars
  • local SIM card - from 2 dollars

The Indonesian island of Bali is a place of stunning and unique sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Locals and travelers gather in different parts of the island every day to watch the sun disappear below the horizon and plunge into the ocean. People specially go to the most picturesque places on the island to enjoy this spectacular moment. And where is the best place to watch the sunset in Bali, I will tell you in this article.

Due to its close location to the equator, Bali maintains warm weather all year round (air temperature at + 30°C), so people have the opportunity to observe the sky in open areas at any time of the year.

Sunsets on the island start at 18:00. The exact time depends on the season. In the autumn and winter months the sun sets at 18:00–18:30, in spring and summer - around 18:30.

Locals say that every sunset in Bali is unique and beautiful in its own way.

Uluwatu Temple

Bali is a real paradise on earth, where the sky itself speaks about it. The sunsets that can be seen here are amazing in their beauty. The best places to watch the evening sky are located in different parts of the island and include temples, beaches, restaurants, cafes and bars. Don't miss the opportunity to watch the sun set at each of these attractions for an experience of a lifetime.

Sunsets in Bali are one of the most unforgettable experiences, and in some places they have a special magical enchanting power. Being in a sacred temple, where ancient rituals have been carried out for thousands of years, it is especially thrilling to watch how a red-hot fiery disk smoothly plunges into the greenish waters of the Indian Ocean.

Two of the most revered temples on the coast are Pura Tanah Lot And Pura Uluwatu. By visiting any of them, there is every chance to witness a surprisingly harmonious play of colors, sounds, smells and fairy tales come to life.

Tana Lot (TanahLot) – XVI century, translated as “Temple of the Earth in the Ocean”. The part of the temple facing the water expanses is dedicated to the ocean goddess Betara Tenga Segara, and the part facing the rocks is dedicated to the gods from Mount Gunung Batukaru. The Tana Lot Temple is sacred to the inhabitants of the island of Bali and is part of a group of temples that protect the islanders from illness, adversity and misfortune.

According to ancient customs, it is believed that watching the sunset in this magical place brings well-being and peace. A spring of holy water gushes under the temple; it was at this place that the Hindu priest Dang Hyang Nirarthu saw a bright light on the cliff and found a source, and after spending the night with it, he founded this beautiful temple with the help of local fishermen.

Uluwatu Temple
(PuraLuhur) – belongs to the six most important shrines of the island, located on a cliff with a stunning view 70 meters above sea level, where sometimes you can even see whales appearing here along with the warm current passing very close to this tip of the island in order to feed their young in the abundance of the southern sea.

On the territory of the Uluwatu Temple, many families of long-tailed macaques, which are not always hospitable, have found their home. Be careful! tourists mesmerized by the sunset are often left without hats, glasses or even cameras.

A mystical performance takes place in the amphitheater of the Uluwatu Temple. Kecak dance against the backdrop of a stunning sunset.

is a form of Balinese musical drama that originated in the 1930s. Traditionally, Kecak is performed by a group of men dressed in checkered sarongs. Kecak (also known as "The Monkey Song of the Ramayana") depicts the battle between Rama and the evil demon Ravana, described in the Hindu epic Ramayana. The roots of the dance go back to trance and exorcist rituals.

Any of the chosen routes can lead to one of the best restaurants located on the beach, where you can taste the freshest seafood dishes.

One of the nice things to do in Bali is the sunsets. Going to watch sunsets is a kind of ritual, and many of those who have lived in Bali for a long time and have already become involved in the local routine regularly indulge in the pleasure of going to watch the sunset.

I love sunsets. We have Balangan, Uluwatu and Bingin beaches nearby, so that's where we look most often. But best of all, if you can surf at sunset, watching sunsets from the ocean is much cooler.

So, if you are also a connoisseur of sunsets and suddenly find yourself in Bali, where can you go to see the most beautiful and most unusual ones? This is exactly what I will talk about in today's article.

    When to watch sunsets?

Sunsets are best viewed from 17:00-17:30 in the evening and until 18:00-18:30. After 18:00 it gets dark quickly, and before 17:00 the sky is not yet painted in bright colors. All sunsets are different, some are very bright and beautiful, some - because of the clouds - so-so. In general, whatever your luck :)

    Tanakh Lot

Tanah Lot is a Balinese temple 30-40 minutes drive from Kuta. For those who came to Bali for the first time, I highly recommend going to see this temple at sunset.

Because even despite the large number of tourists who, like you, will come to watch the sunset there, it is really worth it. Arrive around 5 o'clock, walk down to the main temple, and then take the path along the shore to the right (to the right if you are facing the ocean). There you will see the second temple, and in general, walking along this road until the very end, you can see the most beautiful views of Tanah Lot.

How to get there: if you are coming from Kuta, then passing Seminyak along Sunset Road, enter the main road to Kerobokan (along Jalan Raya Kerobokan) and follow the signs for Canggu and Tanah Lot. Almost from Kerobokan itself there will be green signs for Tanah Lot; drive along the main straight line almost all the time.

    Fish restaurants in Jimbaran

Seafood restaurants in Jimbaran are a must-try for every visitor to Bali. It’s so tasty and colorful there that even we, who live in Bali, come there regularly. The main thing is to choose the right restaurant: the most delicious and relatively inexpensive ones are on the beach next to the Four Seasons (read more).

The tables are located right on the beach, so in addition to delicious food, you can watch beautiful sunsets – especially if it’s not too cloudy. To watch the sunset, you need to arrive at the restaurant by 17:30. The main clientele arrives at the restaurant later, so coming so early has its advantages: it won’t be so crowded and noisy, you can grab a table closer to the water, and the food will be prepared much faster.

    Uluwatu Temple

Another must-see place for those who are in Bali for the first time. Uluwatu is the southernmost point of Bali and is home to one of the main temples of Bali - Uluwatu Temple.

The temple can be seen at any time, but it is especially beautiful before sunset. A little secret: if you follow the path along the temple to the left, after a small forest there will be an excellent rock from which the entire ocean is at your fingertips. This is where you should watch the sunset.

For those who like to immerse themselves in local culture, I can recommend the show “Kechak Dance”, it is shown just at sunset.

How to get there: leave Kuta and along Bapaiss Nguray Rai (or along Sunset) go right following the green Uluwatu signs. If you get lost, ask Pura Uluwatu (Uluwatu Temple in Indonesian) and they will show you. Drive 30-40 minutes from Kuta.

Sunset on Uluwatu - view from Blue Point

Cafe at surf spot Uluwatu (Blue Point)

If you are not a big fan of temples, then you will like this option more. Not far from the Uluwatu Temple there is a surf spot called Uluwatu, which is located next to the Blue Point Hotel. The hotel itself is on a cliff, and the surf spot is below; the entire rock is dotted with cafes, where you can watch the sunset like a surfer: with a bottle of Bintang in your hand or with a freshly squeezed juice. There are also two popular bars at the top of the cliff where surfers gather: the Edge and Single Fin bars. At Single Fin you can also have dinner while watching the sunset.

How to get there: almost the same as to the temple, but about 5 kilometers before the temple there will be a fork at which you will need to turn right (and the road to the temple will go straight), at this fork there will be a small sign to the right to Labuhan Sait. (The sign will be about 5 minutes after you pass the Dreamland gate). Then continue straight along the main road, at some point you will come across a stone sign for Blue Point. Drive forward to the parking lot at the surf spot.

    Sunsets in

Oddly enough, the beach in Kuta has some of the most beautiful sunsets in Bali. The main thing is to choose the right time - the best time to watch the sunset is on the day when the tide is low at sunset in Kuta. If there is no wind, the shallow water turns into a huge mirror, reflecting all the colors of the sky. I remember coming to Bali for the first time - on vacation. I think we went to watch sunsets almost every day!

Kutovo sunsets are supposed to be viewed this way: sitting on the sand in a sarong, fighting off clingy beach vendors with a smile, devouring delicious fried corn bought right there on the beach and, despite the many other tourists and locals appearing on the beach at sunset, calmly enjoying the colors of the sky.

    Purple East Coast Sunsets

The east coast of Bali is Candidasa, Amed. Many people think that since this side of Bali faces east, sunsets are not visible from here. This is a fallacy! Yes, from here you will not see the sun setting into the ocean, but you are guaranteed unusual colors of the sky.

If you happen to be on the east coast during sunset, be sure to stop somewhere around Candidasa: there are cafes right on the shore where you can have dinner and watch the sky darken and turn into all shades from pink to purple.

How to get there: From Kuta, take the Bypass towards Sanur, passing Sanur, follow the signs for Padang Bai, and then Amed / Candidasa. After 50 kilometers you will find yourself in Candidasa, on the right side there will be hotels and cafes on the shore, you go there. Choose any to your taste. From Kuta to Candidasa it is about 2 hours drive.

El Cabron – restaurant and beach club on the cliff

Another place worth mentioning for sunsets is El Cabron Restaurant, which is located in Bukit near Padang Padang Beach. The restaurant is located right on a high cliff; in addition to standard tables, there are also sun loungers and ottomans, and most importantly, a swimming pool - right on the very edge of the cliff, from which you can see the ocean in full view.

El Cabron serves Spanish cuisine, the menu is not cheap, but you can go there for tapas (Spanish snacks) and beer at sunset, take a swim in the pool and go on about your business.

How to get there: drive from Kuta following the signs to Uluwatu, just before you reach Padang-Padang beach there will be a sign to the right “El Cabron”; further along a very bad road, straight ahead - or following the signs - you will come across a restaurant parking lot.

If you want to watch the sunset not only in a beautiful, but also in a fashionable place, then here’s another idea for you - Rock Bar in Jibaran. This bar is located on the territory of the Ayana Resort hotel, also on a cliff, but in Jimbaran. The view is great, the bar is cool, the menu is expensive. People come here to have a cocktail, watch the sunset and stay for the evening party. However, the parties are mainly on Fridays and Saturdays; the rest of the time this place works as a bar. Here you can dress in full dress - shirts/pants, evening dresses and heels. It will be uncomfortable here in flip-flops and shorts.

There is a funicular going down to the bar from the hotel, if there is a line (as often happens at sunset), then you can go down to the bar on foot - just to the left of the funicular.

How to get there: drive from Kuta towards Jimbaran, at the Bypass at the crossroads with McDonald's, turn towards McDonald's, leave it on the left and follow this road until the big intersection. At this intersection you go straight (not left or right, but straight). You drive along a winding road, you come to a T-shaped intersection - there you go left. Continue all the way until you see the Ayana Resort gate, ask the security guard how to find the Rock Bar. You should go there.

Balangan - the best sunsets from the lineup

My regular spot for watching sunsets is the Balangan surf spot. The best sunsets, of course, are from the water, from the lineup. Lineup is what surfers call the place in the ocean where they sit behind the waves and wait for their wave.

When you're on the line-up, you can see things that you'll never see sitting on the shore. You see the coastline of Bukit, which is painted in the brightest colors that never happen during daylight hours. You sit on a board in the water and watch the sun sink into the ocean. Gradually, everything turns golden and orange, and if the silhouette of a fishing boat floats in the distance between you and the sun, you become a witness to such beauty that it brings tears to your eyes. Gradually, other surfers leave the water and towards the end of sunset only a few remain. The fewer people remain on the water, the more you feel that you are part of this huge ocean, part of this sun and golden colors. But all this can only be felt when you are sitting on a board in the ocean.

When the sun sets and the sky turns bright colors, the most magical time of the day begins - evening. You can devote the evening to yourself or your family, or your significant other. Looking for romance? Go to the beach to watch the rays of the setting sun. After all, sunsets in Bali are a wonderful fairy tale. You will learn where and when to catch the most wonderful sunsets from this article.

There are never two identical sunsets on Earth. Sometimes allow yourself to escape from the hustle and bustle of life and spend an hour contemplating the wonders of nature. L The best time to watch sunsets in Bali is from 17:00 to 18:00. After six o'clock it quickly gets dark, and before five o'clock the whole riot of colors has not yet blossomed in the sky. So make sure you're not late.

The best place to watch sunsets is from Tanah Lot Temple. While vacationing in Bali, you will probably want to visit this temple in your excursion program. So, it’s best to do this at about five in the evening, and you will see a completely different temple! Believe me, the mysteries of Tanah Lot are revealed to tourists only in the rays of the setting sun.

Now let's visit another temple - Uluwatu. It is located on the southernmost point of the island, and from the steep cliffs here the entire ocean is in full view. The rays of the sunset glide over the foamy waves, coloring them in all the colors of the rainbow. The sea sparkles, the sea shimmers, the spectacle is indescribable.

If you are not a fan of temples, then at sunset you can visit the fish restaurants in Jimbaran, which we have already told you about . Or try El Cabron Restaurant on Bukit Beach. It is located on a high cliff with a wonderful view of the ocean. This restaurant is especially attractive because in addition to the usual tables, there are sun loungers and ottomans and a swimming pool! They also serve Spanish cuisine here!

All Bali beaches are beautiful in their own way, but bustling Kuta is surprisingly famous for its very beautiful sunsets. Especially during low tide, when the ocean turns into a huge mirror, reflecting all the colors of the sky.

By the way, if you're interested surfing , then as soon as the sun begins to sink towards the horizon, take the board and forward towards the waves. From the sea you will see things that you will never see from the shore. It is truly a magnificent sight as the waves turn golden and the sun gradually sinks into the ocean. Your soul will be filled with a whole storm of emotions; for a moment you will find yourself close to this great mystery of nature.
