My husband and I stayed at the Blue Wave Suite Hotel in May 2017. This was our first trip to Turkey. Travel package from Moscow to May holidays It cost us 42 thousand rubles. I think it's very budget friendly.

Before choosing the Blue Wave Suite Hotel, we studied tons of reviews. And now we are already on the bus from the airport in Antalya to the hotel. The road to the hotel takes approximately 3 - 3.5 hours, depending on the number of hotels that the bus picks up tourists along the way.

The hotel is located in the suburbs of Alanya, in a very picturesque area. Near the hotel there is a gorgeous embankment, walking along which you can see the sea on one side and the mountains on the other. Also, right from this embankment you can see the fortress, which is located in the center of Alanya. You can walk to the city center, but the path is quite long, so my husband and I used the bus.

We arrived at the hotel at 10 am. The administrator said to wait until 12 noon for check-in, and suggested that we have a snack at the bar, which was very useful from the road.

The hotel has two buildings: old and new. Initially, we were placed in an old building, in a room where the renovation did not match the photographs at all. This could be survived. But a surprise awaited us. There are a lot of ants. They were everywhere. Perhaps someone would not attach importance to this, but I have something of a phobia in relation to various crawling insects. I didn’t see it possible for myself to stay in this room. I might not have mentioned this nuance in the review if, after my request, I was immediately moved to another room. But the administrator at first flatly refused to move us. To my reasonable question: “What should we do with the ants?” she said she would call the maid to “spray there.” I said that I did not intend to live with ants, much less breathe chemicals. The story ended with the fact that they agreed to move us only after I asked to call the chief. The sediment remained for the entire holiday.

We were moved to a luxurious room in the main building. At some point, I was even grateful to the ants, because if it weren’t for them, I would not have insisted on being moved, and we would have remained living in the old room.

The food at the hotel was excellent. There was always plenty of food, enough for everyone. Everything is very tasty and satisfying: meat, fish, fresh vegetables and fruits, pastries, desserts - everything is... top level. When my friends asked me what I liked most about Turkey, the first thing that came to mind was the food. The waiters worked quickly and very efficiently.

The beach is sandy and clean. Walk to it for about five minutes at a walking pace. For us it was not tiring, but on the contrary - it was nice to shake off the fat after a good breakfast. On the beach: sun loungers, umbrellas, a cooler with free water, at the end of our vacation they installed a juice machine. The animators organized beach volleyball. We didn't play ourselves, but from the outside it looked great.

The seabed, as on the entire coast of Alanya, consists entirely of huge boulders. As they explained to us, this is due to the fault of tectonic plates. When the sea is rough, these boulders are very dangerous. There is no way to get around them, they are everywhere. So you can’t really stand in the water: you have to get in and immediately swim. There were also a lot of small pebbles when entering the sea; I had to buy slippers to go into the water.

The animation is unobtrusive. There was some fun dancing by the pool. There was also a magic show that we were going to go to, but after a busy day we fell asleep before the evening :) Also, once a week there is a bazaar right next to the walls of the hotel, where you can buy souvenirs cheaper than in local shops.

On the second day after arriving, my husband went to the hammam. He like it very much. Recommends. After the hammam, his skin became incredibly velvety, and the tan began to stick to it much faster than to mine.

My husband and I really enjoyed Türkiye. We would like to return there again, but most likely not to the Blue Wave Suite Hotel. Overall, my review of the Blue Wave Hotel is positive. I recommend it as budget holiday, it is 100% worth the money. But we would like to visit other places, see what it’s like in other hotels, so that we have something to compare with.

But if you don't plan to spend the whole day indoors, then most likely you won't pay attention to it.

The food at this hotel deserves all praise, despite the fact that it is quite monotonous - a wide range allows you to constantly experiment. The hotel is called a real paradise for those with a sweet tooth. This is due a huge amount confectionery products served in a restaurant. The only thing that disappoints is the not very high quality drinks. If we talk about animation, it is represented by only two workers. Nevertheless, their energy and enthusiasm are quite enough to amuse all vacationers. Speaking about the beach, it is worth noting that it is clean, well-groomed and well equipped. The only thing that spoils the impression is its distance from the hotel.

That is, we should be immensely happy from their impudence!!! But since we continued to insist, they offered to come up the next morning and after the rooms were vacated, we would be moved.
The next morning we had a meeting with hotel guide(Shain), where we heard that we were not the only ones having problems with check-in; people complained that the rooms were terribly dirty and asked Shain to sort out the problem. He categorically refused to solve the problems with settlement. And in general, he answers any questions with reluctance and favor. He is only interested in 2 questions: will we buy an excursion and change the currency at the “anniversary” rate!!!
Having heard a lot of stories about other rooms, we decided not to risk it and stay in our room (albeit small and old, but clean). And even this room was cleaned and the towels were replaced once a week.

Shahin also suggests going to a Turkish goods store with mandatory visits jewelry or leather store. Of course, see for yourself, but it's a waste of time. They bring it to a consumer goods store with expensive prices, and leather and jewelry are at exorbitant prices. It’s better to go for 3 liras to the center of Alanya and calmly walk around, choose, and bargain. There is also a market at the hotel on Mondays.

Secondly, just so that people know and can consciously decide whether to go to this hotel or not, I want to tell you about its location, because it is not clear from the description and photo on the website. This is a city hotel, not even the second one coastline. Whatever room you are placed in, the windows will look out either onto the road, or onto a restaurant, or onto a vacant lot, or onto an animation. There is not a single square meter of territory near the hotel where you can walk, etc. The 4 Anex buildings have some greenery, and there are 3-4 trees near the main building. This is just a hotel building in the city, surrounded by a fence!!! But shops and a market are close.

The restaurant is not a restaurant, but just a dining room, which is ALWAYS very noisy and crowded. There are also a lot of cats that climb on tables and steal food from plates!!!
But the food is good and varied. Of course, without frills, carving and other decorations of dishes, but you won’t go hungry. The assortment of fruits is very poor.
They remove dirty dishes from the table very quickly, wash the dishes in dishwashers, and take out the plates while still hot.
For the first time I see a hotel where there are no teaspoons (only plastic chopsticks!), instead of tea cups there are Turkish amruds. Maybe someone will think that this is nitpicking, but frankly, it is inconvenient and most hotel guests pour tea into several coffee cups.

Thirdly, the most important thing for which people go on vacation to the coast is the sea and the beach.
It's quite a long walk to the sea (more than 450 m stated in the description) along a road that runs through the backyards of hotels and with fairly busy traffic. Along the way, you also need to cross a road with very busy traffic (there is an underground passage, but the descent into it for strollers is only on one side of the road). The beach itself is sandy, clean, there are sunbeds and umbrellas, the sea is clean. We were there for a week and there was not a single day of calm; there were constant waves, which made entering and exiting the sea problematic. But it's fun to ride the waves. It's problematic with small children.

The animation in the hotel is good. Every evening new program(either they do it themselves, or they invite acrobats, jugglers, etc.). I can’t say anything about the children’s club during the day (we went without children), but judging by the evening children’s animation, the children know and love the animators. Every evening children are given gifts for the day's competitions, as well as a lollipop for each child. It feels like the hotel management pays attention to animation.
I didn’t even write about Wifi, which is barely active and even then not always, the TV, which is tuned only to Turkish channels, the lack of light bulbs in sconces, handles on furniture and other similar little things. Although it's all these little things that add up...

From all of the above, the hotel has pros and cons.
Pros: good food, good animation, mostly friendly staff, clean beach and sea.
Cons: rudeness at the reception and accommodation not in accordance with the reservation, poor quality room cleaning, small area and city noise, distance from the sea.
