Moscow has a lot of entertainment for every taste and budget, and in this article I have prepared a list of the 10 best places to go with a child in Moscow.

In recent years, hundreds of places have appeared where you can go with your child in Moscow. However, among this variety it is very difficult to choose the best and decide where it is better to spend time with the whole family.

For those on a budget, Moscow's numerous parks are an excellent choice, where you can spend a great day with your child without breaking the bank. The capital of our Motherland is full of contrasts, and there are also entertainments here for which you will have to shell out half your monthly salary. They were not included in my personal rating of places to go with a child in Moscow.

So, where can you go with your child in the capital and enjoy time spent with your family?

I will give you the 10 best places to go with a child in Moscow.

No. 10. Moscow Children's Book Theater Magic Lamp

A small and cozy puppet theater with a sincere atmosphere in the center of Moscow offers performances for the youngest children, from just 3 years old. The theater is located in the center and has a flexible booking system: if a child suddenly gets sick, you can cancel the reservation right on the day of the performance. I recommend going with your child to the play “A Kitten Named Woof” in Moscow.

Price: 900‒1200 rubles

No. 9. Sokolniki Park

One of the largest parks in Moscow, Sokolniki, is a great place to go with a child of any age. There is an amusement park and many paths for cycling, rollerblading and skiing in the winter. There is also an ice skating rink open in winter. Unlike another popular Moscow Gorky Park, in Sokolniki you can drive a stroller absolutely everywhere and it’s not so crowded. Here you can look at the ducks and swans on the Golden Pond, see the squirrels (just don’t feed them, please), play on one of the many playgrounds, and ride a train (as in the photo). And if you are looking for somewhere to go with a child with disabilities in Moscow, then Sokolniki is an excellent option: it has a stroller-friendly environment, and there is an Emerald City playground on site that takes into account the needs of children with special needs.

Price: for free

No. 8. Moscow Planetarium

The oldest planetarium in Russia and one of the largest in the world, the Moscow Planetarium can delight astronomy lovers of any age, although I recommend coming here with children over 6 years old, because younger children may find it boring and confusing. I’ll say right away that you should spend the whole day visiting the Planetarium or split your visit into two days: there are a lot of activities and information. You should definitely visit the Great Star Hall and the Urania Museum, as well as the Lunarium Interactive Museum (free for children under 6 years old). I don’t recommend going to the Theater of Fascinating Science - it’s boring and definitely not worth the extra 600 rubles. Tickets can be purchased in advance, but there are no discounts available on the website.

Price: from 550 rubles, many benefits

No. 7. Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard.

Nikulin Circus is one of the oldest and most famous circuses in Russia, where you can go with a child of any age. If you live in Moscow or are passing through here, this is a must-visit place. An extraordinary atmosphere of childhood, an interesting program that children from 2 to 100 years old can watch in one go, the opportunity to take pictures with circus animals (alas, expensive). I highly recommend going to the “Circus Magic” program, regardless of whether you have children: adults leave the show almost happier than the younger generation.

Price: from 500 rubles

No. 6. State Farm Park named after Lenin “Lukomorye”

One of the best free places to go with a child in Moscow. Although, from a technical point of view, the park is located in the Moscow region, it is only two bus stops from the Domodedovskaya metro station. The park is designed for a wide range of age groups, and it is better to come here for the whole day, before opening at 9 am. At noon, you can already get into a long line, and the wait will take from half an hour to one and a half: the number of people in the territory is limited to avoid crowding. The atmosphere of a fairy tale and fun reigns in the park: you can watch a mini-performance, jump on a trampoline, climb in a rope town, see your favorite fairy-tale characters, “swim” in a pool with balls and do face painting (for an additional fee).

Price: for free

No. 5. Indoor skating rink

One of my favorite pastimes is ice skating. And although I really love outdoor skating rinks, their indoor counterparts are significantly superior to the former in terms of ice quality: for this reason, skating on them with children is much more pleasant, and there are much fewer people. There are a great many indoor skating rinks in Moscow, and I advise you to choose the one that is closer to your home so as not to carry heavy skates and warm clothes far away. The location of the Grad skating rink in the Gorod-Lefortovo shopping center suits my location: the skating session lasts one hour, the schedule is published on the website. There is a skate rental and sharpening service.

Price: up to 12 years old - 250 rubles, adult ticket - 350 rubles

No. 4. Oceanarium on Dmitrovskoye Shosse

The largest oceanarium in Russia is located in the Rio shopping center on Dmitrovskoye Shosse. Compared to the aquarium, the Moscow one is much more modest in size and variety, but, nevertheless, there is something to see here: bloodthirsty piranhas, sharks, Dory fish, penguins, jellyfish and stingrays, as well as many other inhabitants of the deep sea. You can come with the little ones.

Price: on weekdays: children under 5 years old - free, from 5 to 14 - 250 rubles, adults - 500 rubles. On weekends 50 rubles more expensive

No. 3. Water park Kva-Kva Park

A great place to go with the whole family with children in Moscow. In photographs it is huge, in life it is a little smaller. But, despite its size, you can find many interesting slides, fountains, and attractions here. Carefully study the age restrictions: on interesting slides there is an age limit of 10 years, and for children 3–8 years old there is a children's playground. I recommend going to the water park in the warm season, since at deep subzero temperatures there is a draft: it’s easy to catch a cold.

Price: children under 4 years old - free, from 120 to 150 cm - from 540 rubles, adults - from 940 rubles

No. 2. KidZania

One of those places that I look at and terribly envy the children of today: as a child I would have swallowed a hat to visit here. KidZania opened in Moscow quite recently, but has already gained thousands of fans, including me. This is a play learning park, built in the shape of a city, where children can try themselves in a hundred different professions: cook, dentist, policeman, fireman. The child will have his own passport and even a salary, which he can spend on entertainment or in the store. If your child is over 7 years old and is completely independent, then you can save on the cost of the ticket for yourself and wait for him outside the park. The length of stay in KidZania is 4 hours, but during the summer holidays the restriction does not apply, and you can spend the whole day here.

Price: children - from 390 rubles, adults - from 500 rubles

Here's my personal favorite on the list of places, where to go with a child in Moscow:

No. 1. Museum Experimentarium

If you are looking for where to go with your child in Moscow, I highly recommend the Experimentarium Museum. I have been to the museum several times already, and always left with only positive emotions. It is interesting here for both adults and children: you can touch everything with your own hands, conduct experiments, learn a lot about physics, chemistry, space, solve puzzles, jump and run. In addition to the most interesting permanent exhibition, the museum hosts classes, lectures and shows every day: the schedule is on the website. In my opinion, this is the best price-quality ratio among all the places you can go with a child in Moscow.

Price: children under 3 years old - free, from 4 to 16 - from 450 rubles, adults - from 550 rubles

But, in fact, despite this list of the best places to go with a child in Moscow, it doesn’t matter where exactly you go; the main thing is to remember to bring a good mood with you, and then even an ordinary walk in the park will bring you and your child joy! :)

Where else to go in Moscow?

Have you already visited all the interesting places in Moscow with your child?

Instructions

Choose the focus of the event - will it be entertaining or educational? By choosing the first, you will be easily involved in the world of all kinds of children's entertainment, which in Moscow can be found literally at every step: children's playgrounds in shopping centers, skating rinks and roller rinks, amusement parks - All-Russian Exhibition Center, Izmailovsky Park, 850th Anniversary of Moscow Park ", "Luna Park Carousel" and "Chudograd" at the metro station "Park Kultury", "Luna Park Carousel" at the metro station. "Victory Park", "Sokolniki" Park, "Kuzminki" Park, "Babushkinsky" Park, as well as numerous regional children's parks. Here your child will be able to enjoy the rides, jump on the trampoline and eat cotton candy.

When choosing a more difficult level, you can give your preference to aquariums, zoos, museums of vintage cars and toys. In addition to the well-known zoo in the center of Moscow, there is also the petting zoo “We Lived at Grandma’s,” which is located on the territory of the All-Russian Exhibition Center, right behind the “Friendship of Peoples of the USSR” fountain. Here your child will be able to come into contact with wildlife, pet and feed the animals themselves. A visit to the zoo includes a guide who will tell your child about the life of animals and their habits.

The Museum of Retro Cars on Rogozhsky Val opens its doors to young technology lovers. Your child will be able to trace the evolution of the development of the car and, perhaps, after visiting the museum, he will develop a new hobby. There is also the Lomakovsky Museum of Antique Cars and Motorcycles, which is located in Lyublino. The “Artistic and Pedagogical Museum of Toys” will be of interest to both girls and women. Here you will see exhibits that began to be collected at the beginning of the 20th century. The girls will be happy to visit the “Museum of Unique Dolls” on Pokrovka. These museums provide children with the opportunity to plunge into history, but only from their own, children's world.

Many Moscow theaters stage performances for children. Chamber, musical, puppet, interactive, they offer a wide range of children's activities. In many of them, children become direct participants, which helps to revive their imagination and is a guarantee that they will certainly not get bored.

In one of them, you can take your child to a special developmental children's center, where not only your baby, but also you can learn a lot of new things. The child can be taught interesting games that develop him as a person, and they can help you adjust your approach to education if you have such a need. In such centers, special trainings are conducted to help build proper relationships between children and parents, as well as to cultivate a harmonious personality.

Experiment and be creative in raising your child. During the period of active physical and mental development, the child needs to constantly receive new information. You can come up with various games that will comprehensively develop your baby. Set an example for your child by showing creative ingenuity; let your child, from childhood, learn to solve various problems that will later help him in adulthood. Do not limit yourself to monotonous entertainment and going only to entertainment events. The sooner you can identify your child’s aptitudes for a particular area of activity, the sooner you can begin to develop them.

Please note

Bring warm clothes if you are unsure about the weather.
Have a backup plan if your child doesn't enjoy the event. When choosing an entertainment format, pay attention to the age restrictions.

Useful advice

Consider the interests of the child, do not put pressure, give him the right to choose, because he is a separate person. Alternate entertainment with educational activities.

  • Where to go with a child in Moscow

When mom and dad spend a lot of time with their child, both sides benefit. Parents get to know their growing child better, and the baby feels their care and develops faster. Free time is best spent on country walks, getting to know the outside world, visiting museums and exhibitions. The more interesting and meaningful the event, the more benefits it will bring to the child.

Most are incredibly active. When planning events, parents should keep this in mind. The activity of children should be encouraged - this is important for their development and energy output.

If the weather permits, you can organize a trip outside the city. Children will frolic in the open space and explore the world around them. You can take bird and animal feeders with you and place them in the forest or park. In the lap of nature, children can run, frolic, ski and sled, and in the summer, conquer low hills or pick mushrooms and berries. A great idea is to plan a bike ride outside the city. It will be a sporting event and entertainment.

A joint trip to a water park (outdoor or indoor) will benefit health, develop the baby’s dexterity and become a joyful event in the life of parents and child. In your free time, you can go to the pool together. If a child does not yet know how to swim, an experienced instructor will help him master this skill. Making visiting the pool a good family tradition is an important step towards strengthening and strengthening your baby’s health.

A good idea is to spend your free time at the zoo. Getting to know representatives of the fauna is interesting and useful. They can endlessly watch the life of animals and study their habits. After visiting the zoo, you can invite children to draw the animals they like or come up with a story about them.

A great way to spend your free time is to take the younger generation to the workshops of artists or potters. Children will be able to get acquainted with creative professions and see works of art. When you return home, you can try to create masterpieces from clay or an artistic canvas with your child.

Factory tours are a great leisure idea. You should find a company in the city that organizes such events. Visiting such places is very informative and will help your child choose a profession in the future.

  • Leisure time with children: useful, interesting, exciting

If your baby has grown up and is no longer interested in walking exclusively on the playground in the courtyard of the house, you can take him for a walk in another place. To make it more fun for you, you can invite your friends with mothers with children.

Instructions

You will have a great time in the park, especially if it is well equipped: there are playgrounds with swings and horizontal bars, fountains, gazebos, and benches. Usually there are many parents and children walking in such parks, so your child will have the opportunity to socialize with peers.

Children will love hanging out at the zoo. Even if they have already been there, they will still be pleased to see their favorite animals once again. Another option to interact with animals is to ride a pony. It is not only simple and interesting, but also very useful.

The Botanical Garden is a great place for a relaxing walk among flowers and rare plant species. Children also enjoy spending time near ponds, feeding birds and watching them.

If your city has an arboretum, be sure to take a walk there with your children. The arboretum has clean air, where you can ride a bike, play outdoor games, and organize mini-competitions. You can take a blanket and some food with you and have a snack right in the park, having a fun little picnic.

Of course, any child will enjoy a walk in an amusement park, where you can ride on various swings and carousels, jump on trampolines, and ride a horse. Sometimes such entertainment can be expensive, so you should not organize it too often so that the child does not get used to ready-made entertainment, but can play outside on his own.

If your child has already reached the age of 5-6 years, take him go-karting. This is not only outdoor fun, but also exercises for developing the first skill of driving a vehicle. I especially like go-karts. Children will also enjoy walks in places where they can roller skate or ride a bicycle.

  • where to go for a walk with a child

Vacations are a happy time that a student can spend exclusively on his own entertainment, fun and relaxation. And this needs to be done very thoroughly, because another academic quarter with homework and daily lessons at school awaits again. But where can a child go during the holidays so that he can take a walk on his own, without his parents, while they are busy at work?

Moscow is a wonderful city, many of whose attractions will be of interest not only to adults, but also to children. Moscow is a dynamic city, it is constantly developing and changing, almost every year new interesting places open here, new attractions appear. To make the most of your time with your child in Moscow, you should prepare for the trip in advance. This article will introduce you to the most interesting places where you can go with children.

Architectural landmarks

Kremlin and Red Square

This is the best place for children to start getting acquainted with Moscow. Before taking your child to Red Square, it is advisable to prepare him for this in advance. You can talk about the Kremlin towers (Spasskaya - with chimes and a ruby star, Nikolskaya, etc.), as well as other attractions that are located on the territory of the Kremlin and Red Square. These are the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Tsar Cannon and the Tsar Bell, the Mausoleum, the Alexander Garden, etc.

It will be interesting for a child to attend the changing of the Guard of Honor at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. It takes place at the beginning of every hour from 8:00 to 20:00.

Before entering the Kremlin territory there is a place where it is customary to make wishes. This is the “zero” kilometer of Moscow, which is located at the Resurrection Gate. To make a wish, you need to stand in the center of the sign, facing the Iveron Church, and throw a coin over your left shoulder.

Cathedral of Christ the Savior and Patriarchal Bridge

The largest temple in Moscow is located next to the Kropotkinskaya metro station, opposite the Museum of Fine Arts. Pushkin. It was rebuilt on the site of one that was blown up in the 30s. XX century temple of the same name. During the Soviet period, the Moskva swimming pool was located on this site. The temple will amaze children with its power and majestic appearance. It hosts festive Christmas and Easter services, broadcast throughout the country. And on Christmas, colorful children's performances are held in one of its halls.

Next to the Cathedral of Christ the Savior there is another architectural landmark - the Patriarchal Bridge. This is a pedestrian bridge over the Moscow River. It offers magnificent views of the city center and makes for beautiful photographs.

"Moscow City"

Recently, this has been one of the most striking architectural highlights of the city of Moscow. Modern futuristic design and unusual appearance attract curious tourists here. The most impressive is the tower with twisted edges of the facades called “Evolution”. The tallest skyscraper in Moscow City is the Federation Tower, 374 m high. The best view of the complex opens from the Bagration pedestrian bridge. Skyscrapers look very impressive in the evening when the lights turn on. There are observation decks on several towers; you can get to them on a guided tour. Tickets to the Moscow City observation decks are expensive. For those who want to admire Moscow from above, it is better to choose other places. For example, the observation deck on the Ostankino Tower.

Ostankino TV tower

The observation deck of the tower is located at an altitude of 337 m. From here the immediate surroundings are clearly visible: the Cosmos Hotel, VDNKh, and the Moscow State University building is also visible. Daredevils can climb up the stairs to an open area. This produces good photos without glare from glass. To visit the tower with children, it is better to choose clear, cloudless weather. Then nothing will stop you from enjoying the magnificent views from the tower. Just below the observation deck there is a coffee shop and restaurant “7th Heaven” with a rotating platform. There you can relax with a cup of tea, enjoying the magnificent panoramic views of Moscow.
Important: to get inside, you need documents (and for children too).

Famous places in Moscow

Arbat

A walk along Old Arbat, the most famous pedestrian street in Moscow, is an indispensable part of the cultural program of guests coming to Moscow. Arbat Street stretches from the Prague restaurant (near the Smolenskaya metro station) to Arbat Square. It’s nice to just stroll along Old Arbat as a child, stopping at cozy coffee shops along the way. The most famous sights of Arbat: the theater named after. E. Vakhtangov and the fountain “Princess Turandot”, Memorial Apartment of A. S. Pushkin, as well as the sculpture of B. Okudzhava, who wrote immortal lines about Arbat.

GUM

Visiting Moscow and not visiting GUM is an unforgivable mistake. After all, GUM is not just a large shopping center with a cluster of stores of famous brands, but also a striking landmark of the capital, an outstanding architectural monument. The GUM building was built at the end of the 19th century. and represented a unique structure not only for Russia, but also for Europe - covered shopping arcades (passages), connected by bridges.

GUM often serves as a venue for exhibitions and festivals; famous artists and designers work on festive decorations. In GUM there is a cinema with a children's hall, and on the 3rd floor there is an excellent cafe in the nostalgic style - “Dining No. 57”, where you can have an inexpensive and tasty lunch with your child. Be sure to try the ice cream in GUM. This is the most delicious ice cream in Moscow, which is prepared according to a special recipe.

Central Children's World

Many people remember “Children’s World” on Lubyanka from Soviet times. Not long ago, it underwent a global reconstruction, opening in an updated version in 2015. The Central Children's House has many interesting things for children and parents. There are places for entertainment (“Dinopark” and the city of professions “Kidburg”), a cinema, and a touching Museum of Childhood, where you can learn about the history of “Children’s World” and see the toys that Soviet children played with.

On the top floor there is an open observation deck from which you can admire the central part of Moscow. At the Central House of Art, it is worth looking at the unique stained glass windows that are located on the dome of the central atrium. They were created based on fairy-tale illustrations by the artist I. Bilibin. The giant mechanical clock installed in the atrium is one of the 5 largest clocks in the world. And yes, the ice cream at TsDM is also very tasty.

VDNH

For a long time, this exhibition complex, known to everyone since Soviet times, was in a deplorable state. He alternately changed names - from VDNKh to VVTs, then again to VDNKh. After the last reconstruction carried out here, during which historical pavilions, the “Friendship of Peoples” and “Stone Flower” fountains were restored and new facilities were built, VDNKh can be safely recommended for visits with children of any age.

Here is a list of the most interesting objects that you can see at VDNKh with children:
"Moskvarium" (a huge aquarium, a platform for observing underwater animals, a modern dolphinarium, swimming pools with dolphins),
model of the Buran spacecraft,
the largest skating rink in Moscow (open in winter).

This landmark of Moscow appeared recently and has already managed to attract close attention. Zaryadye Park was opened in 2017 in the center of Moscow, on the site where the Rossiya Hotel used to stand. It represents a new format of city parks. The most impressive object on its territory is the “Floating” bridge. The unique design of this bridge hangs like a huge canopy over the Moscow River, as if floating in the air. What to see in Moscow with a child in one day

If you only have one day to explore Moscow, you shouldn’t try to see all the main attractions of the capital in that day. You won’t be able to do this anyway, and in return you will only get fatigue and not the most pleasant emotions. It’s better to focus on one route, and don’t forget to take lunch.

If this is your first time in Moscow, go to Red Square. This is one of the main places and the main attraction, where you should definitely go with your child in Moscow. Show your child what the Kremlin towers, St. Basil's Cathedral and the famous Kremlin wall with dovetails look like.

From there you will get to GUM; the nearest entrance to it is on Red Square. If you have the strength, visit the Central House of Music; you can walk to it, take the metro, or walk along Tverskaya and Old Arbat streets.

If you know the center of Moscow well, then plan for this day something that you have not seen yet, but would like to see. It is important that these attractions are close to each other. Traveling in a crowded metro with children in Moscow or standing in traffic jams takes a lot of effort and time. Take this into account.

We wish you pleasant walks around the sights of Moscow with your children!
