Athena Pallas Village – Reviews. Verified reviews from real guests of Athena pallas village 5 Sithonia

Good afternoon, dear travelers! We decided to write about.
Good afternoon, dear travelers! We decided to write about this hotel because we think that we know a lot about it, having already been there 4 times.
We were in the summer and winter holidays. In winter, the Greeks themselves relax there, it is very cozy in winter, there are many fireplaces, they went mainly to Porto Caras in Spa and to Neo Marmaras to local cafes overlooking the sea. For those who don’t chase parties, who know how to entertain themselves and who just need warmth and communication with loved ones, this is a very worthy place.

So, let's begin:
1) Flight

There are quite a lot of charters from Moscow to Thessaloniki during holiday periods, from those we have tested: UTAir, Aeroflot, AEG

Utair - there are no complaints about the company, in June 2012 this carrier offered the most convenient departure time (there was no need to get up at night for a 5-hour flight to the airport with a child and from the hotel, the arrival was just in time for check-in at the hotel) of the three carriers Utair is the only one that had no delays with departure - everything was minute to minute. There is no business class on Utair charters, but everything is clean, comfortable, food - three options for the main course, children are given albums and colored pencils, branded by Utair. Flight from Vnukovo (long passport control)

Aeroflot - offers seats in business class and if you buy travel packages on special offer" early booking"then you can buy promotional tickets for business class with a 50% discount. The advantages of business class are mainly that there is a separate window for check-in for the flight, a separate entrance/exit to the plane - as a result, you go through passport control faster. in June 2012 - Aeroflot’s departure was on schedule, upon return it was delayed by 1.5 hours. Departure from Sheremetyevo

AEG - the cheapest charters of all, but the most inconvenient times, the food is standard, round trip flight delays are 1 and 2 hours respectively.

2) Road to the hotel

The road from the airport to the hotel takes about 2 hours. Of these, the bus takes about 40 minutes to the first hotel at the Kassandra station, then tourists from Athena Pallase are transferred to another transport; in all cases of our trips to this hotel, we were the only guests in this hotel.

3) Check-in.

Check-in happens quickly, without problems, there was not a single case when they were offered the wrong room that was booked or there were faults in the rooms.
The hotel's "youngest" room stock is the Maisonettes; they stand apart from all other hotel buildings, around a personal pool (only for guests of the maisonettes). The rooms are good, clean, new. Each room has 2 exits - one to the pools, the second to the street. There are 22 maisonettes in total, one with a personal pool, but it is very small and guests of this room still swim in the shared pool. The pool is clean, cleaned on Mondays, there is a children's area and a jacuzzi. In general, it’s the liveliest pool in the entire hotel, they practically don’t swim in the main one, since it’s in the central part near the tavern - and somehow it’s not very good to swim where they eat, the second pool is near the suites, it hasn’t been renovated for a long time and although it is diligently cleaned - still seems neglected.

At Maisonnettes you can order breakfast to your room.

4) Territory and beach.

The territory is well-groomed, green, the air is amazing, the smell of melted pine resin, herbs and flowers will be remembered for a very long time. Nature is gorgeous. The beach is small, of course, as they say in the reviews, but in my opinion it is very successful - in the morning there is shade from the pine trees over the beach, and gradually “lawns” of bright sunlight appear. It’s very good with a child, it’s hard to be on the beach during the day - it’s hot - you get sunburned yourself, not to mention the child, so around 12 o’clock we move to the pool, return to the beach again at about 6 pm - and at 8 pm the water is just lovely. The coast is clean, it was raining, so after it some kind of machine passed early in the morning, cleaning the coast from fallen leaves and needles. There were no living creatures such as jellyfish and hedgehogs; particularly successful divers found unfortunate hedgehogs somewhere under the pebbles, which was loudly announced to the beach sloths. The coast is pebbly - there is no sand at all - walking barefoot is painful, especially on hot stones, but think - what a magical peeling for your heels. All issues can be resolved by purchasing special beach slippers for 20 euros in the hotel shop. Sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach are paid - 6 euros per pair, for those with an all-inclusive system - free. But we, even having the opportunity to use them for free, preferred to sit on towels, away from the hotel beach - there the sun appears faster and there are smaller pebbles when entering the sea, which is good for a child. But an umbrella won’t save you in the heat anyway. There is a bar on the beach: lattes, cold sodas, water.
If you have a car, you can get to Lagomandra beach - there the beach is sandy and the terrain is flat, the sea wind blows well and there is no such heat, and again there are pine trees, under which you can find the desired shade. It gets very crowded on weekends.

5)Entertainment

There is none of them. There is no children's playground. Greek evenings in 2008,2010 were much more interesting and lively than in 2012 - maybe because before they were paid (20 euros per person) - therefore the food was offered more varied and more Greek, but now it’s an evening for everyone = instead of dinner . It starts later than a regular dinner, very limited seats, so guests gather early and languish for a long time in front of the entrance in order to have time to take a seat. Then half of the singer’s evening is blocked by the tail of the queue of people who want to taste “Greek culinary masterpieces” in the form of boiled potatoes, French fries, very undercooked pork and meatballs (by the way, even hungry hotel cats don’t eat meatballs) in general, you need to prepare yourself for the fact that on Friday you will go to bed hungry .

6) Food

Now we get to the most interesting part. The hotel offers HB,BB,All - ALL - very unique: includes breakfast, lunch, dinner + local spirits + ice cream + free sun loungers on the beach.
The advantage is that drinks under this system are free, i.e. water, juices, tea, coffee, according to NV - these drinks are included in the bill, we calculated that in 2 weeks of vacation we “recaptured” ALL - only on water, juices and ice cream for children. By the way, a milkshake made from the same ice cream is no longer included in the list of those available for free under the ALL system.
Compared to previous years, the food in June 2012 was disgusting - there was absolutely nothing to feed the children, in addition, spoiled food was often found (sniff everything, pick the batter from the fish and smell the fish), they say that due to the crisis, the team of cooks led by the chef was replaced -cook. We ate mainly: breakfast in the room, lunch and dinner in the tavern - the food in the tavern was excellent, a decent menu, large portions, the children ate soup - new every day, the soups were very pleasing with their usualness (the buffet menu served mainly tomato soup, and some other gray-transparent sour broth with crackers). In general, an adult can eat at a buffet, but a child has nothing to eat at all. There is a good supermarket in Nikiti; we bought milk, yoghurts, baby cereals and purees, and fruits there. The hotel did not offer much fruit; there was a queue for watermelon, mostly oranges and apples.

7) Guests.

In the summer - mostly Serbs - married couples - fathers selflessly fuss with their children (they teach them to swim, dive, learn English and play ball, wet their babies' feet in the sea and in the evenings they ply with strollers around the hotel so that the child falls asleep, mothers sunbathe - honestly - I was very jealous.)) Many from Ukraine in cars, Bulgarians, Croats. Children are apolitical - on the beach and by the pool they understand each other without words, communicate with laughs, grins, expressions of emotions on their faces and are quite happy.
In winter, the Greeks themselves from Thessaloniki relax during the New Year holidays.

8) Why are we going again? The hotel is very cozy, everyone can find a place to their liking.
Let's go to the maisonnet again, via NV. Accommodation in these rooms seems very comfortable to us, the pool is nearby - the area is away from the main paths of the hotel - isolated and very cozy - they are very comfortable with children. Breakfast in the room, lunch (soup for children) in the tavern. We always take a car, so the sandy beach of Lagomandra is at our disposal, with comfortable accommodation in Athene, but we also stay very comfortably on the hotel beach)))
All possible inconveniences are covered by nature, sea, air.
We were looking for another hotel for the next summer, disappointed in the hotel's cuisine, we visited Porto Carras Sithonia Hotel, Lagomandra Hotel, DANAI BEACH RESORT - I will say that we deliberately do not look at hotels in Kassandra, although there are many decent star hotels there, because . nature is brighter and richer in Sithonia. And of the presented 4.5* hotels in Sithonia, Athena is a very worthy option. The pompous Danai does not justify its price, Porto Caras has a decent Spa, a completely bare beach (shade only from umbrellas), and also small pebbles, a lot of people, one large building - you won’t be able to fit in so that when you leave your room you can touch an olive in a step tree or catch a huge grape snail crawling onto the terrace. Lagomandra is losing greatly in terms of numbers and territory. In general, when you think about your vacation this summer, you remember the huge cicadas on the pine trees, the smell of pine needles, resin and flowers, the warm turquoise water of the sea, the olive grove at the exit from the room. This is probably why we are going there again. We will be glad if our opuses turned out to be useful))) if you forgot about something, you can ask us a question by e-mail - we will try to remember.
We do not post r/s photographs - there are a lot of them in other reviews - the photographs do not convey even 1/8 and they are interesting to those who were personally present during their production))))

The only negative is that the hotel is located near a rather noisy road. The issue was resolved by purchasing earplugs at the pharmacy.

We lived in a deluxe room with its own access to the pool. The atmosphere of peace and relaxation, quiet, clean. We'll be happy to come back again. Great breakfast.

All liked it!

My wife and I spent a week from September 20 to 27 at the Athena Palace Hotel and were simply delighted. Amazing a nice place with the highest standards of service. A very large, well-groomed and beautiful area, the food and service in the restaurant are simply wonderful (we would especially like to note and thank the restaurant employee Dina for her kind and attentive attitude). The Wi-fi is wonderful, it works even on the beach, who cares, there is a gym, cleaning every day , there are master classes and concerts after dinner, and there is a nice mini-shop. The only possible drawback for someone may be not the most best beach at the hotel, but it is also quite good, because the sea here is as impressive as throughout Sithonia and we visited it a couple of times. But it’s better, of course, to be by car and drive around the entire peninsula. In general, the hotel definitely met all our expectations and, if possible, we will come to you again!

The breakfast is delicious, the hotel is excellent - clean, quiet, polite staff. We had dinner at the restaurant on site (not a buffet) - large portions and very tasty.

The food for dinner is not very child friendly. I would like that, in addition to all the other dishes, there was some kind of children's table like what they give in kindergarten (mashed potatoes, stewed cutlets, jelly)

Liked everything. Traveled with a one-year-old child. The hotel has everything for a child: free rental of strollers, for strollers - ramps along the steps, high chairs in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, a child's bed in the room, one of the swimming pools with a shallow entry for children. The area is beautiful, the sea water is clean, they clean it every day. We ordered a transfer from/to the airport - excellent, comfortable, 1 hour travel time. Our return transfer was 2.5 hours later than check-out, we were kindly allowed to stay in the room without additional payment - thank you very much! On Saturdays, free tasting of Greek wines, 4 times a week at 21-00 The cultural program in the central bar - the program is tasteful, not banal, pleasant.

I can’t call these cons, just some nuances that you need to be aware of. 1) the hotel is located between two settlements practically in the forest, in order not to be tied to the hotel you need a car. A taxi to civilization is not cheap, prices in the hotel shop are certainly higher than in city ones, and the selection is not large. 2) pebble beach. In principle, this is not annoying at all, on the contrary, the water is clean, you can see the bottom) but with a small child this is of course not very convenient, but I can say that if we were without a child, we would not have paid attention to this at all. 3) the only thing that really surprised and a little bothered me was the crib. We ordered it separately, the hotel charges 2 euros per day for it. As a result, we received a cot with a very low bottom and a very soft mattress. The child couldn’t sleep in it and slept with us the whole vacation🤷🏼‍♀️. I raised this issue with the reception, and in the end the maids brought us some kind of extra mattress, but it did not improve the situation. The maids said there were no others. It would be very nice if the hotel provided normal cribs, not playpens. This is practiced in other five star hotels.

Without exaggeration, a luxurious hotel! The vacation began with the fact that upon arrival, the nice girl at the reception announced to us that we were getting a room upgrade. And not just to the next category, but right up to the maisonette😄 our joy, of course, knew no bounds. The room is great! Large, clean, with access to the pool from your own terrace. The room has a bedroom, a living room and another bedroom on the second floor. Each room has air conditioning. Considering that we were traveling with a one-year-old child, this relocation could not have come at a better time. We took breakfast and dinner, and I can say that the food was excellent. Dinners always have everything! Fish, several types of meat and poultry. There is also a large selection at breakfast; on Sundays they serve champagne and salmon for breakfast) the only thing is that the sweet table is a little sparse, but I can say that for me this is a big plus! Otherwise, the chances of bringing extra kilos would have increased very much 😅 the hotel is located in a wonderful place, in the evenings we walked along the sea, enjoying the beautiful views and wonderful smells of the pine forest. We'd love to come back again! P.S. We had a late flight and paid extra for late checkout until 16.00. It cost us 50 euros. I think that this is a completely humane price for such a number

Lack of toilets on the beach.

The staff is not just friendly, they are positively charged. The hotel has a beautiful green area. I liked the breakfasts and dinners. Interesting things were served: mussels on ice or hot in sauce, grilled dorado, lightly salted salmon, whole roasted pig, and champagne on Sunday mornings. Thank you to the hotel for the generous gift - an upgrade to a family room with two bedrooms, bathrooms and a small patio. The hotel services work smoothly - there was a slight problem with hot water in the room. The repairmen came instantly and fixed everything. Wi-Fi worked without interruptions. For entertainment, there are performances by artists almost every evening by the pool: guitarists, singers, Greek dancers or salsa. In the evenings you can walk along the road (cars rarely pass along it) past an olive grove and with beautiful views of pine trees, the sea and the sunset. Sun loungers on the beach are free. You can get to the beach through a tunnel - 77 steps down. This is not a negative for the hotel, just reality. I adapted to the lack of changing cabins on the beach.

The beach at the hotel is quite nice, but narrow and small pebbles. 10 minutes by car there is the most wonderful Castries, we swam there. Dinner does not include any drinks, not even tea and water. They were not allowed to bring their own water. Well, you know... In general, there are quite a lot of side expenses, although the price for the room is not small. Without a car, of course, it’s a little difficult here, although there are minibuses to Nikiti and Neas Marmaras (paid).

4 restaurants, 2 swimming pools, stunning nature around. The staff understands Russian, everyone is very friendly. There is a very good shop on site, so you don’t have to go to town for all the little things. A bunch of all sorts of goodies on the territory such as a gym, table tennis, bowling, sauna, SPA, minigolf. The location is excellent, half an hour by car to all the attractions of Sithonia.

Nice hotel with good sea and a slightly narrow beach, but this is more of a plus than a minus. There aren't many people. There are enough sunbeds

I liked basically everything. The only downside is that there is nowhere to go out in the evening. Need a car for evening walks.

  • Athena Pallas Village is a hotel in Sithonia, very suitable for road travelers.

Hi all! As I promised in, I’m starting my stories about my trip to Greece. Today this will be a review of the Athena Pallas Village hotel, or Athena Pallas, it’s easier.

Looking ahead, I will say, despite some shortcomings, I will write about them below, we really liked the hotel and, if we went to this part of Greece again, it would be Athena Pallas again!

    Why Sithonia?

The Chalkhidiki peninsula is a mainland part that ends in three peninsula fingers - Kassandra, Sithonia and Athos.

Sithonia is the middle and greenest finger of the Chalkhidiki peninsula. This is what played a decisive role in choosing the location. Because, after green Croatia with pine trees on the beaches, like in Brela, I was afraid that in Greece I would lack greenery and, accordingly, shade.

Compared to the densely populated Kassandra with a huge amount hotels, there are much fewer hotels in Sithonia and, they say, the construction of new hotels is prohibited.

Having later traveled all over Sithonia by car, we found out that there are, in fact, not so few hotels. There are many small hotels, apartments and rooms for rent. In general, there is plenty to choose from.

The largest hotel in Sithonia is Porto Carras, we also visited there, I’ll tell you about it separately, it’s practically a separate city! I think that there are lovers of such places and they will be interested.

Why did we choose the Athena Pallas Village Hotel?

As usual, we chose the hotel based on reviews and photographs of tourists on various websites. Thanks to everyone who shares theirs personal experience! On travel agency websites, all hotels are good, but people share first-hand information, and, as a rule, honestly tell what they encountered, which is very important. I hope that my review of the hotel will also be useful to someone.

It is not for nothing that Athena Pallas contains the word “village” in its name, which means village. The hotel is stylized as a Greek village. This can be seen partly in the buildings, in the decorative elements, there are barrels somewhere, there was a cart near our building, throughout the territory there are huge vases like Greek amphoras, with flowers, even the same vases are adapted for garbage.

There are two chapels on the hotel grounds where believers can sit in silence and pray, light a candle, and put in money at their own discretion; no one checks.

The hotel even has its own museum, which displays exhibits telling about the life and everyday life of the Greeks, from antiquity to the middle of the last century.

    Hotel structureAthenaPallasVillage

We really liked that the hotel is not one or two multi-storey buildings, as is usually the case, but its 1-3 storey buildings are scattered throughout the territory in the form of a village. In each zone there are rooms mainly of the same category.

If you stand facing the main entrance and reception, then on the left there will be a three-story building with Superior rooms, then the Doxato restaurant, where all clients eat, and even further to the left is the Armonia complex with Suite rooms.

To the right of the main entrance there are buildings with standard rooms. I haven’t been inside, but from the outside these buildings look very cozy.

All hotel guests can use all the pools, but only guests of this category can use the sunbeds in the VIP area, where the sunbeds are assigned to the rooms.

There are several parking areas on site. We were not in the high season, so there were enough parking spaces, but it seems to me that during the peak season, in July-August, there may be problems with parking. Although, in this case, it seems to me that cars can be parked in front of the hotel, since there is no road there, there is little traffic and it is quite possible to park cars along the road.

Hotel locationAthenaPallasVillage and is it necessary to take a car?

It’s not for nothing that I mentioned parking. The fact is that the hotel is located in a place called Elia, between the settlement of Nikiti and the town of Neos Marmaras, and there is no settlement nearby.

The hotel, of course, has everything you need for a holiday, and if you are a fan of... beach holiday, swimming pools and the sea are all you need, then you don’t need a car. And if you need to buy something in addition, there is a mini-market on the hotel premises where you can buy souvenirs, hygiene products, water, etc. More expensive, of course, than in the town, but everything you need is there.

We love to travel and explore the surrounding area, and it’s just convenient when you are independent of city transport, excursions, or even bad weather. You take a car and go to a nearby beach, if you don’t like yours, to Neos Marmaras for souvenirs or to Thessaloniki for shopping, finally!

The Athena Pallas Hotel is ideally located for this type of holiday, in my opinion. And many vacationers do just that. We had practically no empty parking spaces.

And despite the fact that there are a lot of people in the hotel, there is no feeling of overcrowding. Some people leave right after breakfast, some lie by the pool, some go to the beach. Nobody bothers anyone. I really liked this!

We weren't very lucky with the weather at first. It had rained before we arrived and it was quite cool, but then it rained again. We already planned to take a car, but we wanted to look around first, but bad weather accelerated this process.

I didn’t want to stay in a hotel, and then there was a promotion for small cars from a local representative of the Drive company, you rent a car for three days for 100 Euros. We rented for 10 days for 300 Euros, plus full insurance - 7 Euros per day. Total 370 Euros for 10 days, plus gasoline, which turned out to be very economical!

Yes, the car was a brand new Nissan Micra. We wanted to take an Opel Corsa, but they had already run out. The car was taken on June 2nd, and it was the last day of the promotion, lucky!

Rooms at the Athena Pallas Hotel

We experienced two categories of rooms ourselves, and I can write about them. Initially we booked a Superior room, since the child is already quite large and a standard room, when all three of us could sleep on a large bed, is no longer available to us.

Therefore, when booking, we are immediately offered the Superior room, where the room is larger in size than in the standard room and there is an additional sofa, which looks small in the photo, but in fact, is quite a worthy sleeping place for an adult.

The building with rooms of this category is located, as I already wrote, between the building with the reception and the restaurant. We got a room on the first floor, with a balcony overlooking the lawn and a view of the restaurant windows.

Of course, we wanted to see the sea from the balcony! But in our building the sea could only be seen from the rooms on the third floor. And even though we arrived on May 31, there were no free rooms even on the second floor. Therefore, we had no choice but to admire the restaurant.

Because of this, we had a nest of swallows right on the balcony, although there were no chicks yet, so there wasn’t much noise from them. I wanted to point this out as a feature. swallow's nests there are in all buildings and there are a lot of them there!

When we reached the Armonia building, which has its own swimming pool, we decided to find out if there were any free rooms there. At our request, we were shown available rooms on both the first and second floors.

The rooms on the ground floor have balconies facing the pool, not very convenient, on the one hand, if you want to sit on the balcony, but two steps away there are people lying on sun loungers or children running around the pool. But for families with small children, I think it’s just great! Children can play right next to the room, and it is also convenient to watch them when they swim in the pool.

But from the second floor room you could already see the sea, and that decided everything! In addition, the child is already big enough to allow him to swim alone, occasionally glancing at him from the balcony. Very comfortably!

The living room has a large corner sofa, comfortable to sleep and sit on. These rooms have two TVs and air conditioning. A normal safe with a combination lock and a human hairdryer, and not a standard hotel one, which is a pipe with a nozzle. Robes, slippers, in general, the whole set.

At our request, they gave us a kettle, they cleaned it perfectly, the bed and towels were changed every day, as it should be in a five-star hotel.

The staff is very friendly, polite, there are Russian-speaking people, many speak English, there were no problems with communication. In the main bar, almost all the bartenders spoke Russian, many waiters in bars and restaurants, students from different countries who arrived under the “work & travel” program.

    Eating in a restaurantDoxato

In the first days, as always, it seemed that the food was very varied, you could always choose something to your liking. However, after a few days the same breakfasts begin to become boring. In addition to the traditional fried eggs, omelettes and sausages, there was a selection of yoghurts with and without fruit, a small selection of cheeses, buns and croissants, jam, in general, the usual continental breakfast. If anyone is interested, no problem.

I always tried to take soup for lunch, but it wasn’t always available. Large selection of salads and vegetables, delicious salad sauces.

The most interesting were the dinners. Although, in my opinion, there were few fish dishes, grilled fish was fried only once in two weeks, there were mussels a couple of times and fried anchovies once, but I was hoping to have a blast at the fish dishes, but it didn’t work out.

But you could always find something tasty! So, if you don’t find fault, then everything is fine. Although there were salads that were weathered, and croissants that were not the freshest. (I couldn’t help but add a fly in the ointment... :)

    Hotel beachAthenaPallasVillage

In reviews of the hotel I came across a lot of criticism about the beach. Which is not very equipped and very narrow. This is true. Not equipped because there are no changing cabins or toilets. The nearest toilet is at the reception, and you can change clothes in your room.

But the fact that the beach is narrow did not upset me at all. I can't stand beaches with rows of sun loungers. And if you turn right when leaving the stairs, then the beach is a little wider and in the morning you can choose a place so that there is shade from the pine trees and there are sunny spots and you can take a sun lounger yourself or ask a boy to bring it, but for money, 2 Euros for the whole day.

The right side of the beach is “not equipped”

Another feature that confused me in the reviews is that you can only get to the beach by crossing the road or through an underground passage. The first one is somehow inconvenient and the second one unromantic, right?

In fact, everything turned out to be not so scary! The road is not passable, it is only used for access to the hotel, and the crossing is clean and tidy, and the view from it is wonderful, see for yourself.

In general, everything suited me. Another thing is that the water was cool for me personally. Well, the weather was unlucky, what can you do?!

    Entertainment, animation in the hotel

I don’t have much to write about the animation, there was water aerobics in the pool once, we didn’t see any more animation, apparently it wasn’t the season yet, and we weren’t interested in it, to be honest.

Once a week, on Fridays, dinner took place not in a regular restaurant, but in an open tavern; it was the so-called “Greek dinner”. At the entrance, all guests are greeted by a pair of dancers in national costumes and takes pictures with everyone. Then, during dinner, a lady walks between the tables and offers guests to buy photographs for 5 Euros. So unobtrusively...

Due to the fact that there is little space in the tavern, crowds occur during this festive dinner. I recommend not being late for dinner on Friday so that you can grab a good table, order drinks, and avoid standing in line for food.

Other entertainment options at the hotel include mini golf, bowling, and you can borrow tennis rackets from the bar. There is an indoor pool, which for some reason children could only swim in from 10:00 to 12:00! There are also some spa treatments, hammam, sauna, which were free on an all-inclusive basis, however, they had to be reserved! We didn't use this either.

In return, the child took great pleasure in “hunting” the cats, feeding them treats stolen from the restaurant, and even catching fish with his own hands, and taking photographs. Why isn't it entertainment?

What didn't you like about the hotel?

Apparently there was a mistake during construction; all rooms have a problem with drainage. You’re using the shower and a fountain comes out of the floor drain or foam comes out, it’s not very pleasant. This happened in both our rooms, and I read in the reviews, people also complained.

But what annoyed us most of all was the absolutely flawed all inclusive!

My husband and I argued for a long time even at the booking stage; I thought it was stupid to pay for all inclusive, especially since we were going to rent a car and drive, which means we would definitely miss out on several dinners.

But Greece is not Türkiye! The Greek “all-inclusive” turned out to be a profanation! Yes, we were entitled to lunches, as opposed to half board. In all other respects, compared to Turkey or the Emirates, this system has very large limitations.

Bars can only be used from 10:00 or 10:30, I don’t remember exactly, and until 18:00! The only food available at the bar was toast, chips and ice cream.

No alcoholic cocktails, only local vodka ouzo or some kind of cognac, which was not cognac, my husband tried once. Even instead of forfeits, they brought some local equivalent to my husband.

And the sun loungers on the beach were paid, although the tour operator assured us when booking that with the all-inclusive system, there was no need to pay for sun loungers. This is wrong!

So, I was right, and we wasted a decent amount of money on “allinclusive”!

My advice: the best option for this hotel is half board: breakfast - dinner. Especially if you, like us, are going to rent a car and drive around the area.

But even if you didn’t go anywhere and stayed at the hotel, you can have a snack during the day in the tavern, where, they say, they cooked decently, however, we didn’t try it, we were working off our “all inclusive” deal. Yes, I have not yet denied myself the pleasure of drinking wine for dinner.

In general, if you don’t take all-inclusive and close your eyes to the drain in the shower, then we can say that we really liked everything else! Take the recommendations into account and I think you'll love the Athena Pallas Village too.

Now I re-read it, and it seemed to me that I was grumbling. But if you don’t talk about the shortcomings, it won’t be true, don’t you think?

But I liked the hotel, no matter what! There is a wonderful atmosphere, nice interiors, very friendly staff! Yes, it certainly doesn’t deserve five stars, but it fully deserves four. And we are very happy with our vacation!

Now you know quite a bit about the Athena Pallas Village Hotel. And if I missed something, you can ask or add in the comments.

And if you do not want to use the services of a tour operator and prefer to organize your vacation yourself, then read about our experience when traveling to Hungary, here.

Always glad to see you on the blog!

Well, I finally got around to writing a review about my trip to Greece last May.
    Well, let's start in order:
    1. Country. Honestly, I’m just in love with Greece! Crystal clear sea, mountainous landscapes, pleasant cool southern sun and friendly, friendly Greeks!!! I would especially like to note the unobtrusiveness of the male population - Greek men, of course, are hot and are not averse to having an affair with a tourist, but decent women only need to hint that she does not want such romance and the Greek will delicately step aside! The Greeks value personal freedom very much, and even market barkers will not grab you by different parts of your body and force their goods on you, as would be the case in Egypt or Turkey!
    2. Nature. Everything is great! Mountain air, pine forests, olive groves and the clear Mediterranean Sea - what more do you need?
    3. Hotel. I personally was a bit bored - there was no program, except for 2 Greek evenings in a restaurant in 10 days. What saved us was that we went on excursions - to Meteora (I REALLY liked it!!!) and to Thessaloniki (not really, it would have been better to go to Olympus). We also took municipal transport to the town of Neos Marmaros. There is a small market there, nothing special, but there was nothing to choose from...
The rooms, in my opinion, are not worthy of 5*, a little dark and damp... there was dampness and mold in the shower, the shower doors constantly broke, the water did not drain well, there were interruptions in hot water. They cleaned up decently, but not great. Even for tips. And in cool nights They didn’t agree to turn on the heater (there was a central heater-air conditioner), supposedly it takes a long time to warm up and it’s ineffective! They gave us wet blankets that weren't particularly warm!
The hotel area - here - CLASS!!! Everything is surrounded by greenery and flowers! The area is well landscaped with small fountains, arches with climbing vines, various flower beds and elements of the life of a Greek village. Also on the large territory of the hotel there is a very beautiful swimming pool, 2 Orthodox chapels, a souvenir and grocery store (although we bought all this in Neos Marmaros - it was cheaper and there was more choice).
Cafes and restaurants - we had breakfast and dinner, and I must say it was very decent! Vegetables, fruits, cheeses, several types of meat, fish. Lots of different salads different types sandwiches and snacks, coffee, cocoa, tea, juices - as much as you like. In the evenings, sometimes they even served local wine. The desserts deserve special attention - they were simply mind-blowing)))!!! And every day they gave several types!
For lunch we usually went to the restaurant next to the bar - they cook good fish there.
The beach is pebble and across the road (via an underground passage). Although the road is very quiet, there is almost no traffic as this path simply leads from the highway to the hotels. And the pebbles are quite suitable for walking barefoot (especially since this way you get a free and very useful foot massage), but it will not be very pleasant for children to run and jump there.
But the sea is simply excellent - so transparent that 20 meters from the shore you can still see the bottom! But for some reason the sunbeds and umbrellas were paid (((We didn’t buy them, as we were outraged by such petty spending, especially since the sunbeds by the pool are completely free!
The hotel staff scared us with sea urchins, but in 10 days I never met this “beast”))) And in general, no one saw them there)))
I really didn’t like the service at the SPA complex! A massage of 40 euros for 15 minutes of light stroking is too much. Moreover, the girl who worked there could not be found during the day! And if you find it, then they will try to skin you three times for every little thing!!! They even tried to take money for a robe; we had to take it from the room.
In general, I liked my stay, despite some disadvantages of the hotel. Still, it is very important in what mood you are going on vacation, and Greece itself is always very pleasing!!! Therefore, I highly recommend going, the hotel is inexpensive and quite pleasant! Have a good holiday!
I hope my review will be useful to you!!!
