Vyborg - old City in the north of Russia, a unique architectural monument. You don’t even have to look for any sights here, because the whole city is a museum under open air. Almost every building in the historical center is some kind of medieval building. And it is also best to stay in this corner of the Middle Ages in some charming mini-hotel, stylized as an old house.
History of the hotel "Burger's Estate"
In the very center of Vyborg, at the intersection of Progonnaya Street and Vodnaya Zastava, there is a complex of ancient buildings, which is a unique architectural monument. These buildings are called the Burger estate. Thick walls made of large stones attract the attention of tourists. These buildings were owned by wealthy merchants and wealthy citizens for a long time. And very close to this medieval building there is a small hotel with the same name “Burger's Estate”. The apartment consists of just one room with a beautiful view of the old part of the city. And the famous one is just a few minutes walk from here.

You will not need to walk around with a map and ask passers-by for the address if you choose Burger’s Estate for a stop in Vyborg. The address is very easy to remember: Progonnaya street, building 7. From the windows of the apartments you can see the famous medieval building, which gave the address to the apartments. The luxurious view from the window is perhaps the main advantage in choosing this accommodation option.
The location of the apartments is excellent, and this is confirmed by numerous reviews from satisfied tourists. Before Gulf of Finland only 300 meters on foot, as well as to the main castle of Vyborg. There is a supermarket within walking distance. It is also only 300 meters away. The nearest restaurant or bar is just half a kilometer from the apartments. There is a whole scattering of small cafes on Krepostnaya Street. There are also restaurants on Podgornaya Street and Northern Val.
Nearby there is also a park named after Lenin and the Church of St. Hyacinth.

Then you should book your accommodation in advance, otherwise there is a risk of settling somewhere on the outskirts of the city, if not in Zelenogorsk or St. Petersburg.
It is also worth taking care of early booking, if you want to celebrate in this ancient unique city new year holidays. The flow of tourists is increasing greatly. In these apartments you can arrange your own New Year's dinner, sitting on the spacious terrace overlooking the center. And after listening to the chimes (there is a TV in the room), you should go for a walk around the city. Castle Island is only a 10-12 minute walk. This is truly a great accommodation option in Vyborg.
As for discounts, when booking several days the price will be slightly lower. So, for example, four days on weekdays will cost 19 thousand rubles. This is instead of 20, if you calculate 4,000 per day.

Disadvantages of staying in apartments
Despite the fact that "Burger's Estate" has received numerous grateful reviews from tourists, here, like in any other place, there are some shortcomings. To some they may seem insignificant, but others will think about it.
For example, pets are not allowed here. You won’t be able to come to Vyborg with your beloved dog, or you’ll have to look for another accommodation option.
Also, for some, a serious drawback may be that card payments are not allowed in the apartments. In the modern world, we are accustomed to paying for many things by bank transfer, including hotel accommodation. However, on the other hand, money for payment can be withdrawn from any ATM nearby. The apartments are located in the heart of the city, there are places to withdraw cash.
So, having considered this placement option, we can draw the following conclusions. Apartment "Burgera Estate" (Russia) is perfect for accommodating the whole family. The hotel is located in quiet place, and in a private building. No annoying or noisy neighbors - just peaceful silence and an excellent view of ancient medieval buildings.

The bathroom is very cold and smells characteristic of damp stone rooms. An electric heated towel rail would probably be useful there.
The main advantage is the excellent location and wonderful view from the terrace. There are many grocery stores within walking distance, and a very good meat restaurant (the best we visited in the city) is right in the yard. At the same time, there are not many guests there, it is open until 23, so there are no drunken groups at night. I would especially like to mention the excellent comfortable mattresses! It’s not often that you come across these even in “pretentious” hotels. The decor is simple, everything is clean, there are enough dishes. The weather was rainy, we were a little afraid that it would be cold and damp (it was a rainy day), but the bedrooms were very warm and dry. We received the keys without any problems. The hostess arrived on time and showed everything. Wi-fi works well.

The bath we were looking at turned out to be a shower. Gloomy environment. Uncomfortable mattress. There weren't enough utensils for cooking.

In one of the bedrooms there is carpeting that has not been seen with a vacuum cleaner for a very long time, and has apparently never seen wet cleaning. This is perhaps the biggest disadvantage. And Wi-fi is very bad. If you find faults everywhere, go in a good mood and with good company and everything will be fine!
The location is wonderful, right in the center, if you are planning to see the city, this is for you. The apartments themselves are not bad, with a separate entrance. Two bedrooms, a kitchen and a combined bathroom. The kitchen has everything you need (dishes, stove, microwave, kettle, non-working washing machine) A wonderful balcony with a pleasant view of the Burger's house. There is a good restaurant right in the yard. I will recommend this accommodation to friends.

All! And the most important thing is the location. In the very historical center. The castle is a few hundred meters away. A very colorful cozy courtyard. A terrace-balcony overlooking the sights: a house on a boulder and a burgher’s house, from which you could listen to the stories of the guides. There are no complaints about the accommodation, maybe just add a hanger or a chair to the bedroom so as not to clutter the sofa.

Very cold floor (tiles). Very!!! Washing machine not working. No iron!!! No mirrors, except in the bathroom. Old furniture and appliances. Cold bath without a stopper (justified by a small tank of hot water, which is why after taking a bath, the hot water will run out). Carpet smell. Dark cold rooms. Dampness. The second bedroom has access to the pavement and is noisy with the window open. "Soviet" attitude of the staff. A hole in the mesh in a large bedroom. Useless mosquito repellents - it's better to take your own. Expressing dissatisfaction with the maid because we said about the smell in the room (most likely from the old carpet).

The rooms are large, but empty, the area is not functional, but more beds could be arranged. When you say something, there is an echo. There were sockets on the wall, where there were no cabinets or shelves, the phone was charging on the floor. IN big room You can also have an armchair, a cabinet and a table, in general, make it more comfortable. The second room has carpet and apparently cats once lived in this apartment, this room smells accordingly. The kettle in the kitchen did not work, water was boiled in a ladle, and the washing machine did not work either. Chairs can only be used either in the kitchen or on the terrace; a corner or stools would be in the kitchen; it is also not small, but the table in the middle is not convenient. In the bathroom mini pool))) yes, yes, but it is clearly not needed there at all, in order to wash in the shower you have to climb in there with difficulty, go down inside, and then get out, there is no mat either outside or inside, so the procedure is dangerous, I slipped inside, and my husband ran into the toilet outside, the child did not dare to wash himself at all. There are no shelves, cabinets or baskets in the bathroom; it was laid out as needed around the perimeter of the pool)))
Great location. The terrace is unrivaled (large and invisible from the street, it’s very comfortable to just sit, eat or watch the street) opposite the landmark, so there is an active flow of tourists. There is a parking space under the terrace; our car is comfortably placed under a camera that displays the image on a monitor in the apartment corridor. The apartment is very large. Despite some shortcomings, I liked it!

The location is perfect. I just wanted to find a place “with a mood” in the city center. A comfortable option for a company of 3-5 people or a family with children. Very quiet around, view of Historical building. Everything interesting in Vyborg is within walking distance. Although we were there in winter, we appreciated the presence of a spacious balcony-terrace.

The website contains false information about the apartments: they promise accommodation in an estate and an old mansion. In fact, this is a plastic birdhouse, actually attached to the side of the estate buildings. It’s very unpleasant that our dates changed and we were one day less than booked, we were informed about this by email. No one answered our letter; in the evening of the same day the money was withdrawn from the card. The owner is a boor, when we called that we were coming, he didn’t even deign to say hello. We reported that we had arrived in the city and were walking from the station and got lost. They called him several times, he did not answer the phone. When we arrived at the estate, we began to look for the entrance to the apartment. No sign or signs. It's cold and windy outside, we are with a child and things. We call the owner, he doesn't answer the phone! Thanks to the employees of the steak bar, they suggested where to look for it. The person was talking on the verge of rudeness. It seems he had never heard of such a concept as customer focus or politeness! The territory is not well-groomed, the path to the entrance is not cleared and is simply dangerous - it is ice. When we approached, or rather rolled up to the door, the child fell. The owner looked at it indifferently and said: “They don’t clean here at all.” I wonder who besides him should have cleaned his private territory! The first thing we did was go to the store and buy coarse salt. Otherwise, instead of excursions around the city, we would have gone straight to the emergency room! The website promises a bathtub, but in reality there isn’t one. Or rather, there is a large niche in the shower lined with blue mosaics, but there is no plug for it. The iron was also not found. All this is listed on the website and should be in the property. We ask the owner: he calmly reports that there is no iron and “this is not a bathtub”! I am attaching a scan of the correspondence. The website says that these are two-level apartments. So here it is. The first level has a tiny hallway and a steep staircase to the second floor! The situation is poor. Plastic coming off the wall, furniture assembled from pine wood. The price is three times higher and does not correspond to the quality at all.
