We rested at the end of August - beginning of September 2019 in this hotel. I'll tell you about all the main points. Our room was completely new with access to the pool and captured a piece of the sea. The room is cleaned daily and towels are changed, everything is clean and tidy. Checked in within 10 minutes. The food is excellent, there is an assortment of vegetables and especially fruits, everything is fresh, yoghurts, delicious pastries, jams and all that. Assorted seafood, meat too. Drinks are all in glass bottles. The food is all absolutely fresh, of good quality, not like in Turkey or Egypt. The snack bar is open until two in the morning, you can drink cocktails and juices, but the range of snacks is small. The pools are very busy, since the hotel was at a standstill, the English public takes sunbeds in the morning, even if they are not needed. So with thisThere is a problem for those who love the pool. But through a small underground passage there is the coolest beach on the coast - and this is Pineda del Mar. There are few people, the beach is clean, well-groomed, you need to take an umbrella with you. The sea is clean, but immediately deep, so it is dangerous for small children, but for teenagers and adults it is just right. The beach is the best here, not in Santa Susanna. Along the coast there is a cycling and jogging path, and there are also exercise machines. There is a water park on site, which is very cool for both adults and children. Free. A great way to spend half a day. The reception staff are very polite, with the exception of a Russian lady named Valeria. Remember English, use Spanish using Google and you will quickly resolve all issues with foreign staff than with her. But she actually has everything written on her face. So communicate to a minimum. The hotel is large, very clean and well maintained, green. Animation is simply a miracle for children, it’s also normal for adults, you’re not here for rock star concerts. Therefore, it’s quite varied and worthy. I’m writing about the all-inclusive system. If you take breakfast plus dinner, you will have to pay for all drinks, even water and alcohol, respectively. There is a train station nearby - you can go for a walk to Barcelona. And of course, all the excursions are superb. You definitely need to go for a couple of pieces. I was on vacation with my daughter, she is twenty years old. We think we had a great time. We would like to return to this hotel. In general, for family vacation this is what you need.

Dear Explorere460766, We kindly thank you for taking the time to write a review following your recent stay with us. It gives us great pleasure to read that you enjoyed the hotel, it´s installations, facilities and the local area. Please note that you have traveled at a very busy time of year and the hotel and the pool areas are very busy. Which is why we offer 2 large pool areas for our guests to enjoy, one offering a fabulous choice of animation games and activities and the other pool offering a more relaxed atmosphere. The snack bar offers a wide range of snacks, salads, pastas, combined dishes etc.. if you have any recommendations as to what you would like to see on the menu we are happy to hear from you. Your comments about Valeria surprise us, she is normally the most complented Russian speaking member of staff. We are happy to read that these small issues wouldn´t stop you from returning or recommending our hotel. We hope to see you again soon! Kind regards, Golden Taurus Team

We flew with ANEX TOUR. The journey began with the fact that the plane was not only in disgusting condition, but also the takeoff was so “difficult” that I had a headache the entire flight. We arrived at the hotel with the hope that the wonderful GOLDEN TAURUS (as I thought after reading the review) would erase all memories of the terrible flight. BUT IT WAS NOT THERE! In order: 1. No sooner had we entered the room than we felt the pungent smell of sewage. When I asked to change the number, they replied that they would take note and sort it out tomorrow. They offered a better room with an extra charge of 10€ per night; The bathroom was cleaned well, but the room, not so much. They don't clean under the bed at all, it was full of dust. 2. Dining room. Breakfast is always monotonous. THE CUTLERY CUTLERY IS DIRTY!! Somewhere there are dried pieces of food, somewherehandprints! The waiters polish the table, then with the same hands they do NOT grab the HANDLE of the cutlery, but directly the tines of the forks/cups of the spoons!! TERRIBLY UNPLEASANT!! The tables, by the way, are not wiped well. Glasses are not washed off from juice pulp! Before starting to eat, I walked around the empty tables and looked for more or less clean cutlery. Many tourists were also unhappy with the cleanliness of the dishes and cutlery; Also, the waiters speak very little English. In response to my request to bring a “bottle of wine,” they brought me a bottle of water and some strange wine in a decanter. 3. The attitude of reception staff towards Russian tourists. Moreover, it was the Russian-speaking girl who could not answer a single question, solve the problem and was extremely unfriendly; In addition, we noticed that foreign tourists were all accommodated in rooms overlooking the sea, and Russian tourists ALL lived in rooms overlooking the water park. A strange pattern.

Dear Kristi_Ch, First of all we would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review following your recent holiday with us. We are very sorry to read that we didn´t reach your expectations during your stay. We would ask that you inform us of any problems that you have at the time while here on holiday to give us the opportunity to look into the situation there and then. We have noted your negative comments and will be looking into these issues with the aim to improve where necessary. As for the allocation of the rooms, this has nothing at all to do with the nationality of the guest, rooms are allocated according to which room type has been booked. Should you return to the Costa Maresme-Barcelona we hope that you would consider visiting our hotel in hope that you see the hotel in a different light. Kind regards, Golden Taurus Team

The advantage is that there is a water park and a fairly large area. There is a full-fledged extra bed for a child. Of the minuses. Far from the railway station 10-15 minutes. Paid safe. The hotel is big for a Spanish hotel. Divided into several zones. The main advantage of the hotel is, of course, the presence of a water park, and hotel guests can use it for free. There are slides for kids in a separate pool and a separate big slides. In principle, the water park is suitable for any age. There are also two main areas with swimming pools. There are swimming pools for both adults and children. Seats near the children's pools are taken very early. There are generally a lot of children in the hotel. There is a children's playground. There is a mini club. The mini club even has a Russian-speaking teacher. The staff are mostly English speaking. In addition to the children's club, there are a couple of peopleRussian speakers at the reception. But among the animators for adults there are no Russian speakers. In general, the animation is simple. But there is a mini golf course. There are tennis courts. There are billiard tables. Pretty good evening shows. Free good wi-fi is available throughout the entire territory and in the rooms. It's even a little way to the beach. I think I’ll also classify it as entertainment) But overall the hotel is more suitable for a relaxing family holiday. Exactly what we were looking for. The tour was selected for us by a great travel agent Dmitry Mir. An excellent specialist. I immediately understood what we were looking for, and picked out the options in about fifteen minutes. And he also gave advice about the country, thanks to which we saved a lot. You can find it in social network VKontakte simply by last name. The beach is nearby. Across the road and railway along the underground passage. In terms of time, it’s about 5 minutes. Entering the water is quite abrupt, after 2 meters it’s already deep. The beach itself is sandy but there are pebbles at the entrance to the sea. The water is clean. The beach is public. Just like everywhere else in this region. Towels can be borrowed from the hotel against a deposit. Umbrellas and sunbeds are paid and there are none right in front of the hotel, you have to walk to get them. But it’s easier to buy towels or mats and an umbrella; it’s even more profitable. The food is good. If you take breakfast + dinner, you can change dinners for lunches. There is no point in taking all-inclusive. But if necessary, you can pay extra locally. Breakfast is not too varied. But the dinners are very good, with quite a large selection. Feeding a child is not a problem. There is no separate children's menu, but everything is available on the common table. Porridge, soups, yoghurts are all available. You can find meat and fish almost without spices. For adults in general a good choice meat and seafood products are also present. They cook quite well and are tasty. The room is in good condition. There is a full-fledged extra bed for a child. Safe is paid. Free mini refrigerator. . Cleaning is generally ok. In general, a normal hotel with its pros and cons. I think it's worth the money. How a good option Can be considered for a holiday with a child.

I vacationed with my family from June 2019 to July 2019. The child was delighted, he liked everything! The price and quality are as stated! The Russian-speaking staff (reception) are excellent, especially Svetlana and Valeria! The animation team is also excellent, especially Ksenia! Room cleaning - daily! (this is a plus). On my own behalf, I would like to note that the breakfasts are too monotonous!, while the dinner is varied and tasty! Animations and shows for adults and children are also monotonous and boring, but Barcelona is nearby!

“Clean, satisfying, beautiful, the sea is close.”

Smoking is allowed on the balcony. Sometimes there was smoke coming from the neighbors.

I booked through Booking without prepayment. I paid on the spot upon check-in. We took breakfast + dinner. The food is varied, tasty, satisfying. I didn't feel like eating at lunch. Special thanks to the restaurant chef for the dishes and the manager Jose for the competent service! The hotel has several swimming pools and a water park (open until mid-September). Towels were changed every day, although we made it clear that replacement was not required. The staff is friendly. In my opinion, in Pineda this is one of the best hotels. The beach is close, large, the sand is coarse, but the entrance to the sea is steep, as in all of Catalonia. There are shops nearby. It takes just over an hour to get to Barcelona by train (5 euros). There are also trains and buses to Figueres and Girona. There are cycling, running and walking paths along the sea. Within walking distance of Kaleila beautiful rocks on the shore. This is where IronMan is held, if anyone is in the know.

Fabulous

Audibility in the rooms. If you go to bed at night and a child is being soothed in the next room (as was the case with me), consider that you are all in the process. But this is perhaps one and not so significant drawback.

By location - cross the road and the beach to the sea. For trips to Barsa - either take the train (the station is about 1 km from the hotel), or rent a car) The hotel itself is clean, comfortable, excellent staff. All with your own money. The food is good (you will have excellent food at home or in a restaurant). We took a family room, two rooms - great option, a lot of space and a great balcony in the evening to sit with wine and a view of the sea!))))

Room cleaning is simply terrible. I repeatedly asked to clean until 12 until the child went to bed for the day - the request was ignored. The balcony was never cleaned, not even the floors were swept. There is a layer of dust under the beds. The water in the pools and water park is icy, there is no desire to go there.

Good location - near the sea. The food is simply amazing, everything is very tasty, there is a wide choice. The staff at the reception are very friendly and help with everything. The animators for children are just super, and in general the program for children is excellent

There is nothing like 4 stars here. We arrived and were horrified. You find yourself in a Soviet sanatorium of the 80s for a lot of money. There is almost no Wi-Fi even at the reception; there is none at all in the rooms and on the balcony. The miserable red panels in the corridors, the furniture (cabinets, chairs, plumbing fixtures) are absolutely shameful, old. The rooms have three beds (even in a double), but only ONE chair. There is not enough space. There are no glasses or cups AT ALL. Indicated in the room description is a safe, kettle, beach towels for an ADDITIONAL fee. Toiletries include shower gel, shampoo and cream once. Slippers, robe, etc. - there is nothing! The balcony is miserable, the furniture is old and terribly dirty (real photos are attached). But hurray! - The balcony is free))) At the hotel we (a family of 3 adults and 2 children) were accommodated on two different floors. The water park was created exclusively for the benefit of rescuers. There is only one slide with “buns” (purple), on the long three-color slides you can ride on the mattress facing forward (and nothing else). On all other slides - only on the butt (hello bruises). Children under 140 cm tall are not allowed on the large slides. The water in the water park and all swimming pools is ice cold. The children's playground, tennis and swimming pools are open until 18...19 hours. Therefore, there is no one on the playground - the slides are very hot, it is impossible to play. In the dining room for the entire huge hotel there are only two coffee machines with hot water (there is a third one, but it is broken 90% of the time). There are always queues. Dishes and cutlery are regularly dirty. Drinks are free only for breakfast, even if “All inclusive” you pay. There are no coolers. In response to our complaints and request to be accommodated in a room corresponding to the photo and to provide what was indicated in the description of the rooms, the hotel sent us to write a claim to the booking. Those. They take the money right away and don’t return it, and they don’t deal with complaints. Booking's representative called and said they were doing everything they could, but in fact they didn't do anything. The Hotel itself said that they primarily serve clients from tour operators, and not clients from Booking.

There are only three advantages: 1. the sea is very close - you need to cross the road and railway road, the crossing is nearby. The beach is half empty on weekdays, only locals come to relax on weekends. True, the emptiness of the beach is compensated by the complete absence of sun loungers, umbrellas (even paid ones), changing rooms and at least a minimal store with water. 2. The food is quite varied and tasty. But the quality of vegetables and fruits is very mediocre, and the menu is repeated every 7 days. There are ALWAYS queues for fresh food (pancakes, omelettes for breakfast/steaks for dinner). 3. There were spaces in the parking lot. It seems that positive reviews are written by those who have never vacationed in 4* hotels and who came exclusively to eat three times a day with their eyes closed. Bottom line - given that the two previous bookings in reality also differed significantly from the photo and description on the website, I recommend that ALL PHOTOS AND DESCRIPTIONS of the hotel be checked with photographs of visitors on other sites, including the hotel website, because Booking DOES NOT bear any responsibility for the disgusting quality and discrepancy of the information on the site with what you actually receive. P.S. Sorry, some of my photos don't turn upside down when loading(((

Very bad wi-fi.

There is a spacious free beach next to the hotel! The best in the area. Wonderful view from the balcony. The higher, the better view. Our room was on the 8th floor - we enjoyed the views from our balcony. Quite nice and comfortable pool areas. But it's packed. At 8:30 there is already a line of people wanting to take their seats. Nice water park. It's always not crowded. Good organization of work. I liked the restaurant. A lot of fruits. Cava for breakfast and a good variety of dinners. The hotel has several bars. It’s good that the evening animation takes place not on the street under the windows, but in a bar inside the building. Therefore, there is no unnecessary noise under the windows. This is important for those with children. In general, the hotel is family-run. And everything is designed for large families with children. It is important that there are bus stops in different directions near the hotel. And next to the train station to Barcelona and Figueres. There is ample free parking on site for guests. It was very convenient.

I won't go again.
We were at the hotel from August 7 to August 27, 2013, two adults, two children - 3.5 and 12 years old.
We traveled from Natalie Tours, I want to immediately thank this company for working with reliable airlines. It all didn’t start very well, the departure from Moscow was on time, by Transaero, the board was large, comfortable (I don’t remember exactly, I think it was a Boeing 777-200), wide spaces between the rows, screens in the backs, the ability to check in online. However, after 20 minutes of flight, after a series of terrible sounds in the left engine, the plane was turned around and sent to land. All this time there was dead silence in the salon, people were praying. The flight attendants were great, they were there and with all their appearance they expressed complete confidence, there was no panic.
Thanks to the airline, literally 3 hours later we took off on the other board.
At Barcelona airport we were met by a transfer guide and took a bus to the hotel for about 1.20 hours. What I didn’t like: the information from the transfer guide was not true in all aspects; in particular, it was said that hotel guide will be our assistant until the implementation of SIM cards, plus a consultant on all issues. In real life, they were sent by a hotel guide to Calella to the sales offices of mobile operators, without any consultation.
By the way, the hotel guide, a certain Dimitrina, made the most negative impression, her main goal was to sell excursions, and when the question concerned details, for example, when buying tickets to a water park, she consulted by phone, but did not have complete information. The Russian language is weak, there was confusion in concepts. Attempts to find out the way to attractions and supermarkets were limited to drawing an approximate diagram on the map or recommending taking a taxi. Therefore, in the future we went to the reception, where everything was always explained in great detail. By the way, we used the guide’s services once when purchasing tickets to Marineland.
However, let's get back to relaxing.
The receptionist was the one who never had any complaints and everything was always very clear and of high quality. Thank you girls.
There were always Russian-speaking people behind the counter; they spoke English very clearly, there were no problems. We checked into the family building in five minutes. Upon check-in, we paid a tax (about 14 euros) and took a safe and an additional key. Safe 55 euros + deposit 10, key deposit 5 euros. We lived on the 7th (top) floor. The room consists of two adjacent rooms, each approximately 12-15 sq. m., separated by a partition (excellent sound insulation) with a door. In one room there is a double bed with a medium-hard mattress, in the second room there are three beds, the mattresses are extremely soft - you fall through. Two bathrooms (toilet, bidet, bath, sink, hairdryer, soap dispensers, mirror). A long balcony, with exits from both rooms, on the balcony there are dryers and a table with chairs. View: pool + sea. Yes, the rooms have LCD panels, a closet, and each closet has a safe.
The only downside for the accommodation is that there were no ramps for strollers in the family building; you had to carry it by hand. In principle, it’s not difficult, but somehow it’s not thought out.
During the day there are animation programs in the pool, if the balcony is open it is very loud.
All equipment worked properly.
The hotel has several swimming pools, a small zoo (you can go if you're idle), a mini club, and a children's playground.
Nutrition. We took half board: breakfast + dinner. Well, in 20 days, you know, any food will become boring, but there are no particular complaints. Breakfast - vegetables, sausages, cereal, scrambled eggs, sweets, yoghurts, they make pancakes and a delicious omelet in front of you, I liked it. Yes - champagne. I liked it too.
The coffee comes from a vending machine, but I don’t really like it.
Dinners are varied, sometimes narrowly focused - such as Asian cuisine, Catalan cuisine. Fish every day, shrimp and mussels twice a week.
What I didn’t like: the soups are salty; from the hotelier’s point of view, the children’s table consists mainly of cutlets and fried potatoes, sometimes steamed carrots. No porridge. There is no dietary table. So if you are traveling with children, take something with you. We took instant porridge, and that’s how we actually saved ourselves. At the same time, the hotel is positioned as a family hotel, minus a point precisely for the lack of normal children's and dietary food. Drinks for dinner are paid, a liter of sangria is 9.5 euros, a large mug of beer is 2.5, water is 1.5 euros (I could be wrong, prices are plus or minus). There are no complaints about the quality of drinks and food.
In the evening, when there is a lot of traffic, employees bring people to their tables, I liked it, you don’t have to walk around looking for it. All restaurant staff are extremely polite and responsive.
By the 15th of August there were more people, but there was a decrease in delicacies.
Since we took half board, we had lunch in the city. You can have a snack right at the snack bar, it’s generally tasty and not expensive.
Before talking about dinners, a few words about Pineda itself - it’s an urban-type village, with one souvenir street and basic infrastructure along the coast.
I didn’t like the town itself, the roads are broken in many places, the streets are replete with “mines” from pets, of which there are a great many, and one in ten of which the owners clean up after, so be careful, watch your step. You can eat, but everything is the same everywhere - fried chicken, fried meat, fried potatoes. Gazpacho – I liked it, it’s different in every cafe. As a rule, there are no other soups.
We decided on two places for ourselves in the finals. The first is the Maritim restaurant, as you exit the hotel from the sea side, turn left and about 15 minutes before reaching the souvenir street. Set lunch (first + second + dessert + drink (wine, beer, Sprite, etc.)) 9 euros.
The second place is closer, if you exit the main entrance, turn left - a minute and the Pepes restaurant! It was more expensive there, but much tastier, and there they could prepare dishes for us for the children, such as boiled vegetables, and there were also soups. The downside is that only the hostess speaks English, who then actually served us.
In the evenings this restaurant is full of locals and has live bands.
In Calella, everything is more interesting, both shopping and restaurants, and in general the infrastructure and the town itself. To be honest, I regretted that we didn’t vacation there. There are three options to get from the hotel.
1. This is a train that runs once every half hour (by the way, Calella itself has its own train that runs purely around Calella). Our train rolls around Pineda and just stops by in Calella.
2. The walk from the hotel to the start of the shopping street is 20 minutes, if it’s quick then 15 minutes.
3. Taxi - 10-12 euros, say Casa Carlos - they take you to the other end of the shopping street, from there back towards the hotel.
There are a lot of people in the hotel, mostly English, Dutch, French and Spanish. There are few Russians. The staff does not speak Russian (except at the reception desk) and warning signs are not always duplicated. Accordingly, the animation programs were not designed for us; the most that was in Russian was a translation of the greeting. But the programs are nevertheless interesting, the animators work hard. Every evening after the animators work, guest stars (as I understand it, in honor of the hotel’s 50th anniversary) on Fridays there are fireworks.
The hall for the evening program is combined with a bar; there are not enough seats for everyone.
The compatriots didn’t particularly stand out, although one comrade, two meters tall, spent about three minutes screaming at his wife at the top of his voice for the whole bar to say that she had left without him. Happenes….
Service.
We still don’t understand what principle the maid works on, when she washes the floors, when she changes the towels, and when she forgets. The quality of cleaning did not change depending on the amount of tips. They can enter your room with a “do not disturb” sign. But the low score for the service is not for this, but for the pools. Since the sea was cold, for the first week we chose the following schedule: swimming pool in the morning, sea after an afternoon nap. However, on the very first Saturday (we slept with the balcony open, the nights were not hot) at 6:30 in the morning we woke up from a strange sound. Looking out from the balcony, I saw the following picture: two seemingly stoned Spaniards of African origin, having pulled out a portable transformer from a booth, connected two Karcher-type water washers to it and were washing the area with them. So it was buzzing, and the walls of the hotel form a glass, so the acoustics are simply wonderful. Everything is clear, cleaning is needed, but at 6:30 in the morning, with such noise... Well, that’s okay, so they wash, wash, and get to the pool. They washed all the dirt from the floor, about half a meter from the pool, into the drain holes of the pool itself. At the same time, these holes were filled with water level with the pool itself. In fact, the dirt was washed into the pool. I even went down to look. We didn't swim in the pool again.
I don’t know how people didn’t get sick there, maybe some kind of a complex system cleaning, but somehow not professionally.
In the morning, the “take a sunbed” attraction begins. There aren't enough sunbeds for everyone, which is also a minus for the hotel. But there is a plus. If people don’t come to the sunbeds before 11 am, Customer Service removes towels and thus frees up sunbeds for those suffering. In my time there were a couple of scandals involving animators, rescuers and reception staff from the “victims”. But from my point of view it was correct.
The biggest disappointment is the sea. It is of course azure, the beaches are of course large. But the beaches are municipal, there is nothing except a lifeguard, a shower and a dry closet. The entrance, as they used to write, is steep, a meter up to your waist, another meter up to your throat. The waves are strong and drag you down.
Although the water temperature was announced at 24 degrees, it felt no more than 20-22. Apparently, due to the depth, the sea did not warm up. If in previous years (Belek, Rhodes) it was impossible to pull children out of the water, this year the children themselves asked to go to shore. As I was told later, this particular coast is so cold, and it was chosen by the Nordic peoples; for them such water is a joy.
Later we found a more convenient entrance to the sea - through an underground passage, to the left to the next shower, there the descent is more gradual.
Weather: out of 20 days, five days were rainy and cloudy.
Trips.
We planned to go to Barca 5 times. However, everything has its own nuances. The train takes about 1 hour 10 minutes, + walk to the station for 15-20 minutes, wait for the train from 5-15 minutes. In general, the journey takes about 2 hours one way. There are no words for electric trains - comfortable, fast, with toilets, with air conditioning. But it turns out that the Spaniards go to work in the morning ), so the morning trains are packed. Starting from half past ten, more or less, you can even sit down, in the evening the last train is practically taken by storm. Therefore, upon arrival in the city there were no children. Conclusion: not comfortable, nevertheless we went three times.
We went to the much-advertised Mataro Park. We ask the guide how to go. The answer is by train, and then take a taxi. We ask at the reception. So, dear tourists, it’s better to ask everything at the reception. They told me everything, we easily took the train to Mataro station, exit the station to the left, after 20 meters there is a stop, bus number 5. Walks every 15-20 minutes. Mataro Park can be seen, it is large in appearance. Inside, it is essentially Auchan with shopping center, nothing special, like any Auchan on the Moscow Ring Road.
We went to Marineland. The whole family enjoyed it immensely. Three options for buses, we left at 11 o'clock. Unlike our friends who left at 9:30, we didn’t stand in line at all, we even made it to the dolphin show. We watched all the shows again in the evening, they are duplicated. There are queues for all the slides, there are not enough cheesecakes, it makes sense to rent them for 10 euros. The food is expensive, we took a “picnic” at the hotel instead of dinner, there is a special place for eating in the park - piknik area. There is a cafe.
General conclusions:
Before the trip, my friends said, you will see the difference between a holiday in Europe and in Turkey and Greece. I saw. Not in favor of Europe. The hotel is not bad, but the cold sea ruined everything. For tourist recreation you need to take hotels closer to the attractions. Maybe I was just lucky before and came across high-class hotels in Turkey, Egypt and Greece, but the costs turned out to be comparable, the service and food were no better.
I don't want to go to this coast anymore. My family agrees with me.
If you have any questions, please contact us; in 20 days we walked around Calella and Pineda far and wide.
