No. 7 “New Beach” in Evpatoria

Hello, friends, Lena Zhabinskaya is with you!

Since my family and I love to travel, I, like no one, know how it can be when, on the eve of departure, your head is simply spinning from packing your suitcases. And no matter how you plan, there will definitely be something you forget!

And in the case of small children, this can cause a lot of inconvenience both on the way to the holiday destination and upon arrival.

In order to eliminate such situations, I have compiled for myself the most complete and detailed list of things to do at sea with a child, which I will be happy to share with you. With him you will definitely not forget anything!

I am sure that you have heard stories like this more than once when someone arrived at the airport in full readiness, and only there they realized that they had left at home something without which they would not be allowed to board the plane: passports and tickets.

In this case, the long-awaited trip is in jeopardy, and the “mission impossible” task is to try to catch them in time and return in time.

So, so that this story is not about us, we take from the documents:

Don't forget valuables and gadgets:

  • house keys;
  • Cell Phones;
  • camera;
  • camcorder.

An essential bag (always handy) or carry-on luggage.

For a child under four years old:

  • antibacterial wet wipes - wipe hands;
  • wet baby wipes - to wipe the bottom;
  • dry wipes - if you burp or need to blow your nose;
  • food for the road - cookies, sweets, chocolates, marmalades;
  • drink for the trip - baby water, juice, fruit drink (this applies to baby food, so the restriction on carrying liquids on board the plane does not apply here);
  • lollipops and chewing gum (for motion sickness, stuffy ears);
  • entertainment - coloring books, books, a new game on the smartphone - everything is individual here, the main task is to occupy and kill time on the road;
  • vasoconstrictor drops (for a child up to one year old) or spray (after a year) - if the ears begin to get very blocked, so that no amount of sucking on lollipops will help, this remedy in the nose will cope instantly;
  • drops (for a child under one year old) or spray (after a year) with salted water (such as Aqua Maris) - on an airplane or other air-conditioned room the air is very dry, all mucous membranes dry out instantly, which, in addition to the feeling of dryness, increases the risk of contracting ARVI (dry mucous membranes cannot cope with function of local immunity protection).

Toys.

Plus, in a vacation spot they will cost three times more than in a hypermarket in your hometown.

I think parents will decide for themselves what exactly and how much they should take from clothes and cosmetics, so I won’t risk trying to give advice here.

Let me just remind you, based on personal experience, that during a holiday at sea, most of the time is spent on the beach.

Therefore, by analogy with children's clothes, I usually take more tunics and swimsuits, and the rest is based on one outfit for three to four days.

Heels also look rather strange, so you should prefer dressy sandals for walking and flip-flops for the beach. This is where my shoes are limited.

By the way, tell us how you usually buy vacation packages: through a travel agency, or create a tour yourself (separate air tickets, separate hotel), and why? It happens differently here, but lately it’s often more profitable to buy a hotel with a discount of up to 60% on Biglion, and air tickets at the best prices for Aviasales. If you haven’t tried these services, be sure to take a look – they help you save a lot of money.

Take this advice into your own hands, don’t be nervous over trifles, because waiting for a vacation is one of the most enjoyable parts of it, enjoy this feeling!

Awning or umbrella

I have never regretted spending money on it - it’s especially cool to have an awning or an umbrella when you go to the sea with small children. You can put a small inflatable pool there so the kids can play with the water in the shade, or just lay down blankets and have a picnic. It's important that children can sleep under the shelter without the risk of overheating, and we don't have to come home for naps.

Powder removes sand

One of my favorite secrets: bring baby powder with you. I have no idea why it works, but it does! Rub the powder into your skin and the sand will come off much easier. It's strange but wonderful.

Cooler bag

Useful for quickly perishable products. In case you take milk, berries and... chocolates to the beach (anything can happen).

Pre-frozen water

Place bottles of water in the freezer the night before and then keep them in your cooler bag - they will help keep your chocolates from melting, and you can drink the water as they thaw.

Hand washing bucket

Children who love to play in the sand find it very difficult to wash their hands afterwards. Especially when you need to sit down and have a snack. We take a couple of plastic buckets with us and let the children rinse their hands in them before eating. This way they don't end up with sand in their mouths. Well, or more precisely, it turns out to be much less.

Bring bath toys

There is no need to buy a whole bunch of beach toys that will only be useful in a year. My kids' favorite beach toys are bath toys! Children love anything that they can pour or pour something into, and on the beach, toys don’t have to be anything special.

Bring toys with you

I'm stocking up on toys before I leave. They are much cheaper than at the resort. And if they are new, they are usually packaged very compactly, so they are convenient to transport. Last time I bought buckets and swimming rings at home - the children were delighted, and I didn’t have to spend money on the spot.

Use reusable bags

Instead of plastic bags, leather and cotton bags, it is best to use durable eco-bags made of synthetic materials for things on the beach. They will shake off the sand, dry from the water, and if they get dirty, you can always wash and dry quickly. Nowadays such bags are sold in many places. Most often, they fold into a very convenient and very small case; you can take a few in reserve in case you need to put away dirty things separately.

Individual packaging for snacks

I don't like small packages, because several small ones are always more expensive than one large one. But it's terrible when someone puts their hand in the bag and it's covered in sand and the whole bag of food is ruined. Therefore, I prefer to take many small packages. Still cheaper than buying expensive food on the beach. You can also try and prepare a healthy snack in advance and divide it into containers.

Mesh bag for toys

But toys for sand and water are best carried in a mesh bag with holes. They then dry quickly, do not wet or stain other things, and the sand spills out through the holes along the way much easier than later shaking it out of all your things and bags.

Place electronics in sealed bags

They cannot be overestimated. Sealed bags with secure clasps are useful for keeping everything in the world safe from water and sand - electronics, money and keys. I always stuff more bags into my bag so I don't run out.

Cooling spray

Take a bottle with a spray bottle, brew green tea, pour it into it and put it in your cooler bag. When you want to cool down, splash yourself! This is pleasant, useful, and fun. You can also splash with regular water. This will also refresh you for a while.

Holiday impressions in October

The beginning of October in Cyprus is the best time to relax! The sun doesn’t burn so mercilessly, there are fewer people on the beaches, and there are more places. And all excursions and entertainment are still actively functioning. And by the end of October (when the season comes to a close), prices pleasantly change downward.

Family holiday

In Ayia Napa, both adults and children will find something to do. For the latter, there are the most beautiful beaches: white sand, clear, warm sea, ice cream and playgrounds in almost every hotel. Adults will also be comfortable on such beaches, with cocktails in coconuts and pineapples and entertaining competitions in beach bars.

What to take with you on vacation?

Of course, all beach accessories, including diving masks, coral slippers (the shores are bordered by solidified lava), sun and after sun cream and towels (in hotels, towels that can be taken to the beach cost 5 euros). Summer comfortable clothes, you can grab a blouse for the evening.

Where is the best place to stay?

All hotels are on the first line, directly next to the sea - expensive, but beautiful (mostly 5 and 4 stars). We lived in 4* on the second line. Although the famous beaches of Nissi Beach and Nissi Bay are only 6 minutes away. The only negative is that you can’t see the sea from the windows, the view is blocked by the first line hotels.

What to do at the resort?

Personally, we had a truly beach holiday. We sunbathed and swam during the day and in the evenings, before sunset. In the middle of the day we sunbathed under umbrellas by the pool. We played volleyball there, by the pool. We walked around the city and shops. We took beautiful photos of landscapes. In the evenings we went out to bars (similar to our discos).

We were only on a sea excursion on the pirate ship "Black Pearl". We bought it through a tour operator (TUI) and it turned out to be very expensive - 17 thousand rubles. for our money, these are 2 adults and one child 11 years old. They say that if you buy the same excursion directly at the port, bypassing the tour operators, it will cost half as much (we learned about this later). But the trip was great! We sailed through the most beautiful places, stopped to swim in the open sea, ate a delicious lunch, and fired blank volleys at passing ships. An atmosphere of unbridled fun in a pirate style.

Near us were the most beautiful beaches of Nissi and Nissi Bay Beach. There are always a lot of people there, of course. But very beautiful white sand, wonderful, transparent sea, with different shades of darkening (due to algae). There were very few fish, they were almost transparent white, there were even small crabs. In the middle of the sea there is an island (Nissi), which is reached by a sandbank in the sea. Very beautiful! There are beaches nearby, to the left and to the right, but they are simpler, like everywhere else. There are more parents with children there, since all the young people warm themselves on Nissi Beach. Each beach has bars and cafes. Their prices are decent. (Burger, for example, 8.5 euros.)

What can you buy?

There are many shops and they are all the same type. They sell souvenirs, soap, halva, olive oil, Turkish delight and the like. You can also buy food and alcohol: from chips and wine to cold cuts and cheeses.

About product prices

Pringles chips large jar from 2.30 to 2.60 Euro. Wine from 2.9 E per bottle. Beer from 1 Euro per can 0.5. Gummies from 1.65 E. A piece of pizza in the store 2.5 E, a donut 1.5 E. A liter of milk 1.6 E. Juices from 1.5 E per package. Water from 0.8 E. Ice cream is more than 2 Euro.

Where can I eat?

There are as many cafes and bars as there are shops. Choose according to your taste, where you personally feel most comfortable. Prices are approximately the same everywhere.

About the quality of food and service

In October there are still fewer people, so the cafe is not so crowded. The waiters are bored) The service is always polite and fast. The food is quite tasty, the portions are large. The main course is served with salad and potatoes. Drinks include mainly wine, beer, and cocktails.

How much does it cost to eat? About food prices.

Prices in Ayia Napa are slightly higher than, say, Protoras. For two or three euros, somewhere. For example, Moussaka costs between 9-12 E. A huge omelette with filling 9 E. Cypriot coffee 2.6 E. Beer from 3.5 E. Cocktails for children from 3 E. One person can eat enough for 15 Euros. A bottle of wine in a cafe from 13 E (in stores nearby for 3-5 Euro there is an excellent choice).

Entertainment

Ayia Napa has an amusement park and a water park. We didn't visit. But the attractions are visible from everywhere: the Ferris wheel, the slingshot and others.

Pros of a holiday in Ayia Napa

In principle, we liked our holiday in Ayia Napa. We wanted a calm and measured pastime. Occasionally we went to bars in the evenings. We mostly enjoyed the night sea view while sitting on the beach.

Disadvantages of holidays in Ayia Napa

The big minus of our hotel (Christofinia 4*) is that there is no embankment in the area where you can take an evening promenade. Walk only from beach to beach on sand. The hotel is located at the very entrance to the city. Perhaps there is an embankment in the center, but you need to go 3-4 bus stops to get there.

Is it worth a holiday in Ayia Napa?

Cyprus is absolutely worth a holiday! A wonderful island with a magnificent sea and nice people. It is in Ayia Napa that more young people who like to visit bars and discos at night will likely like it. But because of the excellent beach, it’s also worth going here.
