Mui Ne resort in Vietnam: the pros and cons of holidays and our review of the village. Phan Thiet Vietnam: when is the best time to go? Reviews, advice Vietnam Phan Thiet Mui Ne reviews

We are talking about two of the most popular resorts in Vietnam - Mui Ne and Phan Thiet. What are they good about and what are the disadvantages of resorts? Here are reviews from tourists and prices for holidays in 2019.

Perhaps no resort has received such conflicting reviews from tourists as the Vietnamese Mui Ne (Phan Thiet). Some mercilessly scold it, others admire it and gladly recommend it for a visit. Let's try to understand the reasons for such mixed assessments.

Phan Thiet and Mui Ne:

Reviews of holidays in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet for 2018

Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are often identified with each other, although these are different settlements located next door. Phan Thiet is a provincial town with active street traffic and other joys of city life, and Mui Ne is a quiet fishing village. Most often, tourists call Mui Ne a multi-kilometer beach area with hotels and restaurants, stretching from Phan Thiet to the village.

The busiest area of the resort is Ham Tien with Nguyen Dinh Chu street, on both sides of which there are hotels and restaurants, mainly on the first line. The beaches are equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers. The sand strip is wide, with fine white sand, but closer to the fishing village it narrows; by the way, hotels are cheaper there, but the beaches are worse.

The disadvantages of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, according to reviews from tourists who vacationed there in 2018, include difficulties with the road: you need to fly to Ho Chi Minh City, and from there it takes several more hours to get there by bus or taxi. But the main displeasure of some tourists was the sea. In Mui Ne, winds blow most of the time, high waves rise in the sea, and swimming becomes extreme. It’s better to go to the beach in the morning; after lunch, the excitement only intensifies. The sea becomes relatively calm only in spring.

For kite lovers, Mui Ne is a real haven; there are several good schools on the coast where beginners can undergo training and gain the necessary skills. In the evenings, the main entertainment for tourists is walking, shopping in souvenir shops and dinner on the seashore - seafood is excellent here. If you get bored with a beach holiday, you can go on a tour of the surrounding area or go to Ho Chi Minh City or Dalat.

By the way, tourists who do not speak English will find it easy here - almost all signs and menus are in Russian, and the service staff is also often Russian-speaking. The second undoubted advantage of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, according to reviews from tourists, is the affordable cost of vacation, although, when compared with Nha Trang, the prices here are slightly higher.

Weather in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet

The warm climate of Mui Ne allows you to relax here all year round, without fear of cold snaps and heavy rains. A natural belt of sand dunes has formed around Mui Ne, which create a special microclimate and protect the area from heavy rainfall. Even dangerous storms with floods bypass these places.

The average annual temperature in Mui Ne is +30°C with a slight “winter” drop to +25...+27°C. The warmest sea in summer is +27...+29°С, in winter it cools down to +24°С. The hottest months are May and April, the coldest months are . Nevertheless, many prefer to come.

The rains begin in June and continue until October, then dry and clear weather sets in. However, in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, even in the low season, showers do not last long - usually in the afternoon and evening, the relative humidity remains at 79%.

According to tourist reviews about the weather in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet, in December - January, due to strong winds, it can be a little cool in the evenings, so jeans and windbreakers will be very useful. High waves rise on the sea. Read more about it - we talk about the weather in each month.

Holiday prices in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet in 2019

Of course, kitesurfers will get the most out of their holiday in Mui Ne, but non-sporting tourists also have something to do. There are many massage parlors (spas) here, treatments cost from 15 to 30 dollars.

Gastronomic pleasures await gourmets: in the cafe you can order grilled fish, mussels, scallops, oysters, lobsters, as well as local exotics - crocodile or snake dishes. The best seafood is prepared in restaurants in the Boke area. The fresh catch is placed in the aquarium, and the guest orders what he wants. According to reviews, prices in Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are quite affordable - you can have lunch for only 5 dollars, dinner for 15 (in establishments for locals it will be even cheaper). A large glass of freshly squeezed juice costs just over $1.

In the vicinity of Mui Ne there are unique attractions that you can visit with a tour or on your own. Briefly, the top most interesting places look like this:

  1. White and Red Dunes. These are the main attractions of Mui Ne and a favorite place for photo sessions for newlyweds. The Red Dunes are easily accessible by renting a scooter, the White Dunes are located a little further. The Red Stream flows next to the Red Dunes - due to the admixture of clay, the water in it is colored red. Not far from the White Dunes there are hot springs and a very beautiful lake with lotuses.
  2. Cham towers. These towers are the surviving part of an ancient temple complex from the 8th century. Entrance fee is 10 thousand dong, or 50 cents. The towers look especially impressive in the evening when the lights turn on.
  3. Ke Ga Lighthouse. A granite creation by a French architect and a very popular local landmark. The lighthouse is located on an island near Phan Thiet. To climb to the observation deck, you will have to show physical endurance and climb 182 steps inside the tower. There is an entrance fee - about 90 cents, and you also need to pay for the crossing to the island. According to reviews from tourists, in the winter of 2018, the area where the lighthouse is located was called a collapse zone and visitors were no longer allowed inside. Let's hope this is temporary.
  4. Mount Taku. Located 30 km from Mui Ne. At the top there is a statue of the Reclining Buddha, the largest in the country. Its length is 49 meters, height - 11 m. You can climb the mountain by cable car or walk along a path through the tropical forest past temples and other buildings of the monks. The cost of visiting with a cable car costs 160 thousand VND (7 dollars).

Hotel prices in 2019

On a note. If you are at a resort during the Vietnamese New Year, keep in mind that hotel prices rise dramatically and there are usually no rooms available - they are booked by the Vietnamese almost six months in advance. We encountered this when we lived in Nha Trang in the winter of 2016 - we had to leave for Ho Chi Minh City, since during Tet the hotel we lived in was overcrowded, and others cost 2-3 times higher than the regular price. Tet is celebrated in late January or early February.

How to book a hotel? You can find a convenient accommodation option for yourself on the well-known service Roomguru.ru - the site compares prices of a variety of booking systems and finds the best one.

In general, Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are a good alternative and (though you don’t need to wait for the service corresponding to Turkish resorts), a place for an inexpensive and relaxing holiday, where the main entertainment is walks, beach joys, gatherings in cafes and unobtrusive shopping. Nightlife lovers and divers have nothing to do here - there is no nightlife, and due to constant waves, the water is often mixed with sand, cloudy and opaque.

According to reviews from tourists, they are characterized by high waves and winds, so during this period you should not plan a vacation with children, but it is better to postpone it to March-April or November. At this time, the temperatures are the most comfortable, the sea is very warm, and the waves are small.

Kite lovers can go at any time of the year, because winds in Mui Ne are a common occurrence, but the best waves are here from November to March. Those who want to save on cost can safely go during the low season: prices in hotels and restaurants are reduced, and climatic conditions allow you to relax comfortably.

Phan Thiet is a young, but already very popular Vietnamese resort. It stretches 40 km along the coast of the South China Sea and includes the city itself and several neighborhoods and villages to the east and west of it. All tourist life is concentrated on the coast - hotels, restaurants, rental shops and other entertainment. There are almost no attractions in the central part; the only thing that might interest city guests is a museum, a couple of temples, a market and a crocodile nursery.

The main tourist destinations are beach and active recreation. It is equally good here to relax under the warm sun and catch a wave on a windsurf or wakeboard. During the windy season, the city attracts many water sports fans. In addition, the Vietnamese resort attracts gourmets from all over the world. The already unique cuisine of this country here acquires a special flavor due to the abundance of seafood, exotic delicacies and tropical fruits.

Entrance to the beaches of Phan Thiet, as well as sun loungers and umbrellas, is free.

Almost every piece of the beach belongs to some hotel, but this does not mean that a random guest will not be able to swim - admission is free everywhere, and umbrellas and sunbeds are free. Other infrastructure is not very well developed - changing rooms are not available everywhere, and there are few water activities. But there are plenty of schools and instructors for kiting and windsurfing. Water sports enthusiasts are attracted here by the waves, which are especially high during the windy season. They represent the only danger for families with children. Otherwise, Phan Thiet is an ideal place to relax with kids - the shore is quite shallow, the entrance to the water is gentle, there are no stones, corals or dangerous sea creatures. There is generally little living life off the coast of Phan Thiet - everything that floats is caught by fishermen early in the morning, and by lunchtime it is served to the table by waiters. So there is nothing for divers to do here.

For those seeking solitude, there are wild beaches to the west of the city. There are few hotels there, there are completely deserted areas, but you can’t count on any infrastructure.

Phan Thiet Hotels

The choice of hotels in Phan Thiet is large - from modest hotels with affordable prices to luxurious villas and apartments. Most of them are located in the Phu Hai, Ham Tien neighborhoods and the town of Mui Ne, a little less - in Phu Tui and to the west of it.

The most budget option is guest houses and hostels in the center of Phan Thiet. The cost of a double room varies from 230,000 VND to 700,000 VND per night, but you will have to get to the beach by bus or taxi.

The most expensive hotels are concentrated in the Phu Hai area. These are mainly spa hotels with a wide range of additional options. The price per room ranges from VND 2,000,000 to VND 4,000,000. You can find an inexpensive hotel for 300,000-700,000 VND, but there are so few of them here that you need to book places several months in advance.

In the Ham Tien quarter, prices are more affordable, most of the hotels are “double” and “triple”. A double room will cost 900,000-1,500,000 VND. But there are also a couple of “fours”, the cost of living in which reaches VND 2,500,000 per day.

What to bring

For souvenirs in Phan Thiet, it is better to go to the central market - Phan Thiet Fair; in the only shopping center, Co-op Mart, prices are much higher and the choice is less. Pearls are considered the most popular gift from Vietnamese resorts; pearls are sold here at every turn. True, most often the stones are grown artificially, but the jewelry still looks exquisite and is in demand.

The market also sells elaborately painted silk clothes and crocodile skin products - belts, bags and purses. The shelves are full of handmade goods made of stone and wood - boxes, frames and other trinkets, and as a souvenir of the sea you can bring a picture made of shells and sand.

The calling card of these places is the “nuoc cham” fish sauce.

For exotic lovers, ointments and tinctures with snake and scorpion venom, natural herbs and other exotic ingredients are sold in Phan Thiet. The cream is used externally to treat bruises and sprains, and the balm is used internally to strengthen the cardiovascular system and immunity. From grocery stores it is worth grabbing the famous Vietnamese coffee, green tea and the calling card of these places - Nuoc Cham fish sauce, which is produced at a local factory.

Cuisine and restaurants of Phan Thiet

The cuisine of southern Vietnam is distinguished by an abundance of herbs, seasonings and sauces, the most famous of which is Nuoc Cham. They even serve chicken with it. The menu of local establishments includes more fish dishes - marine fishing has fed the residents of Phan Thiet for centuries. On the table there are often shrimps, squids, lobsters and fish in a variety of forms. Exotic dishes and delicacies deserve special attention in traditional Vietnamese restaurants - turtle soup, roast crocodile meat, grilled snakes and much more.

For those who do not risk trying something unusual when traveling, Phan Thiet has quite familiar Italian, French and even Russian establishments. Menus in English and Russian are also not uncommon.

You should choose an establishment here not only based on gastronomic preferences - the price range is wide. There are no fast food chains, but finding the usual hamburgers or fries is not a problem. This is the most budget-friendly snack option - 70,000-150,000 VND per person. The cheapest way to eat a nutritious meal is in Vietnamese cafes - 250,000 VND for a modest lunch of fish, rice and vegetables for two. Most of the eating places in Phan Thiet are middle class restaurants. A good lunch there will cost 500,000-600,000 VND (European cuisine is more expensive due to imported products). Those who want to indulge in the exotic at an expensive high-end restaurant should be prepared to fork out VND 1,500,000 for a dinner with alcohol for two.

Entertainment and attractions

For lovers of water sports, the choice of entertainment in Phan Thiet is large - kiting, surfing and windsurfing. There are schools on the coast, equipment rentals are available, and frequent winds create excellent weather conditions. Those who prefer a more relaxing pastime should pay attention to golf clubs. The most famous and largest course with 18 holes and 72 routes is located on the territory of the Ocean Dunes Resort hotel. Thanks to good infrastructure, it has become a center of attraction for fans of this sport.

Phan Thiet is not the best place for sightseeing tourism, but there is still something to do and see, both in the city itself and in its surroundings. Those interested in Vietnamese history should check out the Ho Chi Minh Museum. The exhibition features exhibits dedicated to the life of the famous political figure and his role in the 1945 revolution. In addition, archaeological finds from excavations in the vicinity of Phan Thiet are exhibited.

A popular excursion among tourists is to Ba Island, which is 70 km from the city. It is best to go in March, when locals celebrate the birthday of the lady - the female deity Ana, in whose glory an ancient Cham temple was built here in the 17th century. The island is covered with huge trees; from the shore it seems as if they are growing straight out of the water.

An hour's drive from Phan Thiet is the Binh Chau mineral springs. Hot healing water, mud and good infrastructure attract spa connoisseurs and those who want to improve their health or get a boost of energy. A huge health and entertainment complex with bars, hotels and sports grounds has grown up around the springs.

4 things to do in Phan Thiet

  1. Pet and feed the crocodile.
  2. Climb Mount Taku and feel the peace and tranquility of the Buddhist temple.
  3. Learn to control a kite.
  4. Find the most unusual dish on the menu of local restaurants.

Phan Thiet for children

There are several places in the city that are definitely worth visiting with your child. One of them is clearly not for the faint of heart - in the crocodile nursery, an adrenaline rush is guaranteed even for the bravest tourists. Not everyone dares to feed huge reptiles from a fishing rod and hear the characteristic clicking of their jaws, and even less so to hold their babies in their arms. But children are absolutely delighted by these dangerous and mysterious predators.

The Temple of Whale, one of the most unusual attractions of Phan Thiet, will not leave young travelers indifferent. It resembles a museum rather than a religious building. In a separate room, several hundred fragments of the skeletons of whales and other marine life are kept, and in the neighboring building there is a whole skeleton 22 m long. During life, it weighed more than 45 tons. In this sanctuary, fishermen worship the god Whale and believe that he will protect them from storms and hurricanes.

november

December

The tourist season in Phan Thiet, although it lasts all year round, is still divided into high and low. From May to October there is more rainfall, there are fewer people on the beaches, and prices in hotels and restaurants are lower. Short-term heavy showers usually occur in the evening or at night, sometimes the weather remains dry for weeks.

Families with children are better off choosing the rainy season for their vacation - the sea is much calmer, and precipitation slightly cools the hot air.

The high season begins in November and lasts until the end of April. This is the time for surfers, especially from January to March - the waves are so high that swimming may not be very comfortable. It rains very rarely, the weather is hot and dry.

When is the best time to relax in the resort of Phan Thiet in Vietnam: weather, rainy season, sea

The beach season will begin very soon in the countries of Southeast Asia, and in connection with this, tourists are beginning to ask themselves a simple question: which country to choose for their vacation. In fact, there are many options, and it is simply physically impossible to go everywhere. But there is one country that our compatriots love and is visited by more than a million tourists from Russia every year. We are talking about Vietnam and the luxurious resort of Phan Thiet. Find out when is the best time to vacation at this resort, what to take with you on vacation, and what is special about a vacation in Vietnam. And so, let's talk about Phan Thiet - one of the best resorts in Asia.

Phan Thiet is a unique resort. Married couples, families with children, elderly people and young active people come here to relax. Everyone will find their own leisure and activity here. You can just lie on the shore and admire the sea, you can walk along the endless sandy shore and see that the sea is huge, you can go diving and see the underwater world, or you can... in general, anything is possible here, as long as the weather doesn’t let you down.

When is the rainy season in Vietnam Phan Thiet

In fact, you can vacation in southern Asia all year round. In the summer months the heat here reaches +40 degrees, and in winter it is slightly lower, about +32. But, unfortunately, there is one weather feature here, which is called the rainy season. And he does not bypass Vietnam.

The so-called rainy season lasts six months: from May to October. At this time, a strong wind is blowing, there are huge waves on the sea, and water is pouring from the sky as if someone is pouring from there from a huge bucket. Typhoons are quite common at this time in the country.
The closer to the end of the rainy season, the more rainfall there is. The rainiest month is September. In October there is less precipitation, but it is still the second month with the most rain.

You will be least likely to get wet in January and February, when there is almost no rain. The beginning of spring is also not rainy, and only in May there can be 4-5 rainy days.

Weather in Phan Thiet by month

The weather distribution in Phan Thiet by month was very interesting. During the rainy season, when there is very little sun, it is the hottest. But when the rains stop and the sun shines all day, on the contrary, it is a little cooler. This is due to the length of daylight hours. In the summer months, the day lasts almost 16 hours and during this time the air has time to warm up quite strongly. But in the winter months, the day lasts 8-10 hours, and the sun simply does not have time to warm the air before the weather becomes hot.

The hottest month is May - this is the beginning of the rainy season. You can still go shopping this month, because the rains are only gaining momentum.
In the summer months the air temperature is almost the same, about +33 degrees. But heavy rains and high humidity make it difficult to go outside.

When the typhoons subside, the temperature drops slightly and becomes a comfortable +30 +33 degrees. The “coldest” time is January, when the thermometers show +30 and slightly lower.

Sea water temperature in Phan Thiet

The sea near the resort is always warm. It never cools down to temperatures where you can't swim. But during the rainy season, swimming here is dangerous. High waves, strong currents and a lot of garbage are the main obstacles for tourists.

With the arrival of the beach season, the sea calms down and cools down a little, although the temperature is still very comfortable around +25 +27 degrees.

Sunny and cloudy days in Phan Thiet

The most sunny days at the resort are in March and April, that is, at the beginning of spring. But the winter months can boast of good results: in December there are 19 days of sunshine, and in January and February there are 25 days each.

The least sun is in July, in the middle of summer. Although there is not much precipitation this month, only 84 millimeters.

When is the best time to relax here?

As you can see from the weather, the best month for a holiday is January. It is a dry month, the sun shines every day, and the sea is calm and warm. There are also many tourists at the resort in February.

Tourists begin to arrive in large numbers in Phan Thiet in November, and the high tourist season lasts until the beginning of May.
From May to October it is cloudy and rainy here, so it is unlikely that you will be able to swim in the sea. But excursion holidays are quite possible, and prices at this time of year are much lower.

Vietnam has long been a resort country. Here, almost the entire population of the country works for the benefit of tourism. And tourists often choose Vietnam rather than some second country. Tourists especially like the resort called Phan Thiet, where everything is very beautiful and wonderful. This article will focus specifically on the resort of Phan Thiet Vietnam. You will find out when is the best time to relax in this place, what to take with you and other reviews from tourists. Let's look and relax properly.

As we have already said, Phan Thiet is a very popular resort among tourists. Married couples come here. People relax here with children and young and active people rush here. And they all know why they are going - for a vacation, but each for his own.

In Phan Thiet, the high season lasts from autumn to spring, just like throughout Southeast Asia. But it’s not all that simple; there are some nuances here.
The high season begins in November and lasts until April. At this time of year the weather is hot and there is no rain. But there is wind, and even strong wind! Therefore, at this time, lovers of high waves - surfers - rush here.
But beach lovers also relax here. Wind and waves are not here every day. It may turn out that one day the weather will be sunny with strong winds and big waves, and tomorrow the sea will be calm, and you can not only sunbathe, but also swim in the calm sea.
From May to October the winds subside. But this does not mean that there are a lot of tourists here. After all, it rains at this time. During these months it rains almost every day. There are few sunny days, literally 5-7 per month. But the sea is cool and no one swims.

Weather in Vietnam Phan Thiet by month.
Now let's talk about the weather and water temperature by month in the resort of Phan Thiet. This data will also help you understand when is the best time to fly here on vacation.

January.
During the day the temperature warms up to +30 degrees. The nights are warm and do not fall below +22 degrees. The sea water is beautiful and is above +23 degrees. No more than 7 cloudy and rainy days.

February.
In February the air here cools down a little, but not by much. The average daily temperature is +28 degrees. But the water in the sea becomes warmer by one degree and this is very noticeable for the body, +24 degrees. In February there is almost no rain, and winds are not so frequent.

March.
The first month of spring immediately brings not just warmth, but heat. The air warms up to +32 degrees, and sometimes even higher. The sea water is even warmer +26 degrees. The air becomes more humid, and it is often stuffy outside, which not everyone can tolerate.

April.
This month marks the end of the high and dry season. The air temperature during the day is +35, and at night +29 degrees. The water is +26, and tourists do not leave it. Towards the end of the month it starts to rain. It often rains every other day from the 20th of April.
In April, a holiday at a resort is the best time. But there are still pitfalls here. For example, high temperature! Children will not be able to tolerate such heat and high humidity. So you will only have to go to the beach in the morning and evening, when the sun disappears below the horizon. Plus, a thunderstorm may begin, which, although it passes quickly, getting caught in it is not the most pleasant option.

May.
The rainy season begins in May. The sky is covered with clouds and clouds. The rains are not yet so intense, but quite frequent. The air is also heated to +35 degrees, and the water is +29. It would seem - just a paradise for relaxation! But the humidity is such that tourists cannot leave their rooms. Sometimes it reaches 82%, which is almost rain.

June.
June is the month of rains. In the first month of summer it rains 98% of the time. So it’s better not to come here at this time.

July.
The second month of summer is also rainy. But it differs from June in that in July it rains mainly in the afternoon and until the night. And in the morning the weather is just cloudy. The air temperature is +33 degrees, and the water is +29. But there are no swimmers in the sea, since the rains do not allow this.

August.
The last month of summer brings strong winds, showers and even hurricanes! At this time of year it is acutely empty. Even local residents do not leave their houses and prefer to sit in their homes and relax.

September.
The beginning of autumn is the beginning of the tourist season in Vietnam. But it is in the resort of Phan Thiet that it still rains. If a travel agency tries to persuade you to fly here in September, then don’t listen to them. Yes, it’s warm here up to +33, and the sea is +29 degrees. But there are only 5-6 sunny days per month, and even then they are after the 15th. You will just sit in the hotel and be sad. If you want to visit Vietnam in September, then it is better to choose Nha Trang, there are only 4-5 rainy days.

October.
And now we can go to the island again! The rains have receded, the sun shines 8 hours a day and the sea is warm. True, the winds are still blowing, but they will blow throughout the entire sunny season, so there is nothing scary about it. The air temperature is +33 degrees, the water is also +29.

November.
This month is ideal to visit Phan Thiet. The sun shines almost every day, there are few clouds. The winds subside a little, and you can safely swim in the sea, which is warmed up to +25 degrees. The air temperature also becomes a little cooler +32 degrees. It often drops even lower, but not critically, to +28.

December.
The last month of the year will delight you with dry and warm weather. The air will be +32 degrees, and the water will still be the same +25. But the winds are getting stronger and can blow for 20 days in a month. But few tourists pay attention to this, because they come here for the sun and to celebrate the New Year.

Conclusion.
And so, in order to summarize everything that has been written, let’s summarize. The best time to visit Phan Thiet Island is during the winter months. It’s warm here, and the water is warm, and not so humid. In the spring months, the air is fiery and high humidity, which not everyone can tolerate. And in the fall, the rains have just receded, and it is possible that they can charge again for several days.

The capital of Binh Thuan Province, Phan Thiet is a small (population of just over 200 thousand) but prosperous Vietnamese city and a good destination for tourists. It is located 200 km from Ho Chi Minh City. You can get from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet by bus or train, but there is no airport in the city. And this is very, very annoying. In principle, the name of the city is a little familiar to the Russian ear. But, oddly enough, almost 80% of our travel agencies do not send tourists to this city (perhaps due to the distance from the airport and the reluctance to have additional problems with transfers). However, we are familiar with this direction more from the beach area of Mui Ne (which is a 15-minute drive from the center of Phan Thiet and which is part of the city), where 80% of Russian-Ukrainian tourists are found, and some shops and restaurants are located in the possession of our fellow citizens. In general, Mui Ne is called a “Russian village”, and you will be convinced of this as soon as you set foot on this land. Read completely

HOLIDAY PRICES:

Cost of holiday in Phan Thiet. November 2017.

tour cost

We went on a last minute package from Anex Tour for $433 for two people. The tour was for 9 days with departure from Moscow and arrival in the city of Nha Trang. In fact, it was two days on the road and a full seven days of rest on the seashore. Transfer to and from the hotel was included in the tour price. Our hotel was located in the south of Vietnam, and it was almost a 3-hour bus ride one way.

The price for the sightseeing tour was $10. We abandoned her and walked on our own. Entrance to the Temple of Whale cost 15,000 dong (40 rubles). The entrance to the Cham Towers costs the same. Package excursions from Anex Tour cost no less than $100. For example, a trip to Saigon would cost $130, and mud springs would cost $120.

In tourist places, the check can reach up to 500,000 dong for two (1,350 rubles) for a large hot pot, a portion of fried shrimp and two fresh juices. Therefore, it is better to eat in those places where locals have lunch and dinner. It's cheaper, tastier and the portions are huge. There are a huge number of such cafes on every street. One huge portion of Pho Bo noodles costs 20,000 dong (50 rubles). On average, any lunch in local cafes cost us 150,000 dong for two (405 rubles). This amount included a huge portion of rice with seafood or rice soup, fried squid or shrimp, and drinks. Any dish can be safely taken for two people. Small beer costs 15,000 VND for 0.3 liters. A serving of four grilled mussels costs 130,000 dong (351 rubles). In the market, prices are usually rounded for the convenience of payments to tourists. So a whole peeled pineapple costs 15,000 dong. A drinking coconut costs the same. Delicious baguettes with banh mi filling cost an average of 20,000 dong (54 rubles). There were two large supermarkets in the city; we liked COOP mart the most in terms of assortment. In the store, a two-liter bottle of water costs 4,000 dong (11 rubles). Mangoes cost, depending on the variety, from 25,000 dong per kilogram to 120,000 dong, both in the market and in the store. Ready-made pies cost from 3,000 to 5,000 dong (8-14 rubles).

Souvenirs and other goods

Olong green tea for 200 grams costs 220,000 dong (594 rubles). A 200 gram pack of delicious coffee costs 169,000 dong (422 rubles). A magnet with a piece of silk or a bamboo mat costs 20,000 dong (54 rubles). We bought one sunglasses for 190,000 VND. An average basket for transporting fruit costs 13,000 dong (35 rubles). In Duty Free, a small 175 ml bottle of local Rhum Chauvet rum was quite expensive - 5 euros. A silk scarf costs 17 euros, but the quality of the seams is very mediocre. A lot of jewelry, a Pandora bracelet costs from 180 euros. I recommend taking something in the area towards Mui Ne (the beaches are better there). And, of course, something on the first line overlooking the sea. Hotels in Vietnam are cheap. We lived in SKY STAR RESORT 3*. An excellent option, a new hotel consisting of one 3-story building and 18 small bungalows on the 1st line. A very green area, making your way through which you find yourself on a clean white beach. Bathroom with slippers) And free Wi-Fi with a good signal.

What to do at the resort?

There is nothing to see in Phan Thiet itself. On one of the days of our vacation, we decided to rent a bike and ride around the surrounding area. We stopped on the way to Mui Ne to see the Red Stream. This is a small river, the bed of which is limited on one side by red-orange sandy rocks. A kind of Martian landscape. There are several cafes upstream, so if you get tired, you can have a snack there.

35 km from the city there is a unique desert - white dunes. The white sand stretches for 10 km and looks very beautiful against the blue sky. You can rent a jeep and arrange a safari. And 30 km away there is Mount Taku and the statue of the reclining Buddha. The giant statue, whose dimensions symbolize the tenets of Buddhism, is the largest in Vietnam. The mountain offers a beautiful view of the jungle and the cable car.

Wide sandy beaches are what makes it worth coming here. Free to visit, as are beach equipment. Coconut palms get close to the water in some places. Gentle descent, shallow water. The only small negative is the choppy sea with waves, so the water is not very clean, but slightly cloudy.

It is best to buy fruits on the street in small shops. And definitely in the morning, because by lunchtime their price increases. And also the new Phan Thiet market. The market is open from 5 am to 5 pm. But the spectacle is not for the squeamish - seafood right on the ground. We recommend purchasing groceries from the Coop Mart supermarket. There is everything here - food, clothing, household chemicals. On the ground floor you can buy greens, meat products, baked goods, milk, alcoholic drinks and everything related to food. On the second floor there are household goods, clothing, perfumes and everything related to souvenirs. And on the third floor there are various cafes and a children's entertainment center. And the opening hours are convenient - from 8 am to 10 pm.

Meat with a side dish is 4-4.5 dollars, and in establishments further from the coast - 2.5 dollars. A large portion of rice with seafood costs about 3 dollars, Pho soup costs from 2 to 3 dollars. Lunch for two will cost around $5. And you can have a seafood dinner for 15-17 dollars for two with alcoholic drinks.
