This tradition continued for several days and stunned compatriots wandered around neighboring hotels!! According to my observations, foreigners were treated more loyally, while Russians had problems with settling in. The food is quite decent, as they like to write in reviews - you won’t leave hungry. This time it was decided to visit Greece, the choice fell on Crete, after looking at reviews and ratings for hotels I chose the Aldemar Knossos Royal Village 5* hotel as always on the system all inclusive, because I think this choice is justified.
The flight was in the morning and we were already there by lunchtime. The only thing I didn’t like was that we were the last or second to last to disembark at this hotel. There was one couple with us, they said that they were returning to this hotel for the second year in a row, looking ahead, I can say for sure that I want to return to this hotel again. Quickly filling Required documents Upon registration, we were offered to go have lunch while they prepared the room. Despite the fact that we came towards the end of lunch, there was a wide selection of dishes and the waiter immediately came up and offered a choice of drinks, I naturally asked for a cool one-time wine, all the wine was in bottles, which I liked, not like in many hotels in Turkey. Subsequently, all food was tasty and varied. Lots of seafood, a variety of fruits, meat, fish, there was once a themed Greek evening, Italian and, in my opinion, Japanese, since there were rolls in the corner. The hotel has a la carte restaurants by appointment free of charge - Greek tavern, fish. We visited both restaurants, we liked everything, only we got into the fish restaurant with money for a paid event “Lobster Show”, where the restaurant’s chef prepares lobsters, and we missed the regular fish restaurant due to excursions)) The view from the regular restaurant is simply amazing, you sit, have dinner, sipping wine and admiring the indigo sea. By the way, regarding drinks, the hotel is all-inclusive and drinks are poured not only from local but also imported ones, in the main bar, if it’s a martini, then they pour a real martini, if it’s Baileys, then the situation is similar with all drinks.
The hotel area is very green, large and beautiful, with cicada sounds everywhere, which adds its own romance to the atmosphere of the hotel and the island. The hotel has several swimming pools, the main one near the main building with sea water. The hotel has essentially two beaches, since the hotel is located on a picturesque peninsula, on one side sand beach, but there is no entry into the sea, there is a natural slab with grooves, when you walk on it, a wave hits you, there is a chance that your foot will fall into a hole and you can at least get an abrasion on your leg, at most a dislocation, which is what actually happened to one of my friends , so I rate this side of the beach satisfactorily, on the second side of the hotel peninsula there is another beach, which is a bay where there are no waves, but I saw a lot of descent into the sea along the stairs and at the bottom sea ​​urchins, so you can swim there, but it’s better not to go to the bottom. In general, I went to the neighboring beach 100 meters from the hotel, it didn’t bother me, or I spent time by the seawater pool. In general, locals rate this hotel as fashionable; of course, there are more expensive hotels in Crete starting at $5,000 per night.
I'm not picky about the rooms, since I only spend time there to sleep. But they gave us a room close to both the pool and the sea and with a side sea view. Everything inside is clean and tidy.
The hotel is very well suited for have a relaxing holiday with family and just a romantic getaway, no one bothered anyone. The hotel contingent seemed to me to be a lot of British, there were Germans too, where would we be without them)) Italians, I saw a couple of Russians. Regarding excursions: we rented a car for 2 days. On the first day we rushed towards Vai beach, on the way we stopped at Agios Nikolaos, the Toplou monastery, and the palm beach of Vai itself, on the second day we went in the morning to the mountains to the Sycamore tree, the Kardiotisas monastery with the Church of Our Lady Keras in Krasi and the Cave of Zeus , all this happened in the first half and on the way, having stopped at the hotel for lunch, we went to the Knossos Palace and Heraklion, we managed to see everything, we liked everything. In general, in two days we drove almost 500 km))) For inexperienced drivers, I would not recommend such long excursions as on the first day, it is very difficult to drive along mountain serpentine roads, and it is better to take an automatic. In Heraklion we went to a sale of summer clothing collections and bought children’s clothes for my many little relatives at a price of 100-200 rubles per suit, and of European quality. Overall, I really liked everything, I was able to feel the local flavor and relax on the hotel grounds.
A small addition, I went during the peak season and the prices were high, if you go, for example, in October, where the sea is still warm, then you can relax for exactly half the price))
