What to see and do in Munich late at night? Active leisure ideas for Munich, attractions, entertainment and nightlife. Where to go for a cultural holiday Munich nightlife

Nightlife in the city usually begins at midnight. Until this time, biergartens are still open - open-air beer gardens, which attract the natives much more than any other evening entertainment. And when the owner of a crowded restaurant begins to hint to visitors that they are no longer welcome, the public moves to the clubs. Entry to most clubs is free, cocktails cost 7-8 euros.

While at 9 pm respectable burghers are getting ready for bed, young people who decided to skip their first lectures at the university and all those who do not get up for work at 5 am go out into the world. Where do night owls go? It seems that of all the musical styles in Munich, jazz and blues are preferred. We came across melodies in these styles most often in the capital of Bavaria. In small clubs there are usually not so many people, and therefore it seems that the musicians play for themselves, for their own pleasure, selflessly.

Heartfelt
First, we decided to go to the establishments that were recommended to us as the most pleasant and sincere. The center of Munich's nightlife is the old part of the city, the Altstadt district, where the sophisticated Bayerischer Hof nightclub is located in the huge basement of a luxury hotel. Jazz and blues are played here every evening until 3 am. Indeed, an excellent choice for people who decide to spend a pleasant evening. The impression is somewhat spoiled by the prices of drinks.

To the east of the central Marienplatz square on Neuturmstrasse you will find one of the most charismatic establishments of the Bavarian capital - the small nightclub Atomic Café. Among the interiors, designed in the style of the 60s and reminiscent of a spaceship to some, visitors enjoy music in the styles of alternative pop, soul, and electronic styles.

If you are not afraid of dark gateways, you should move a little away from the center and go late in the evening to a very strange place between the railway junctions and the Hirschgarten park on Friedenheimer Brücke street. In this wilderness, far from civilization, they decided to open a large concert venue - the Backstage club. You can start the evening in the “beer garden”, and then move under the roof and listen to rock, metal and reggae, which is what most guests do.

Pretentious
Walk a little northeast from central Marienplatz towards the Bavarian National Museum and you will find the iconic P1 club. It appeared more than 60 years ago as a vacation spot for American soldiers, and gained incredible popularity in the 70s, when Mick Jagger and Freddie Mercury fell in love with visiting it. Today, this spacious pavilion on the outskirts of the Englishe Garten is known not only as a place with excellent pop and rock music, fantastic acoustics and stylish, timeless interiors combining austere marble and relaxing velvet, but also for the very harsh and uncompromising bouncers who will not let you in an unfashionably, or rather, “unglamorously” dressed public. So the chosen few get here the first time, who managed to appear before the experienced eyes of the face controller in the best possible way. And don’t expect cheap drinks - the prices in this establishment are steep!

Another establishment for lovers of pretentious parties is the spacious 8-seasons club, located in a neo-Gothic building on Sonnerstrasse. You will hear all the most modern, relevant rhythms in this place. All the most fashionably dressed people will undoubtedly be here too.

Nearby on Maximilianplatz, the noisy club Pacha is open until the early hours - a place for fans of pop and house music. However, those accustomed to wild, crazy parties in clubs of the same name in other cities around the world will most likely not like this place. Many are disappointed by the monotonous tunes and call Pacha in Munich a boring and mediocre establishment.

Democratic
Young people, fans of noisy parties, try to move to the Schwabing area closer to midnight, closer to Freiheit Square, filled with bars, cafes, restaurants and clubs. Those who are used to dancing to alternative rhythms will choose the Haidhausen area. There is also a unique complex here: several dozen night bars, clubs and discos under one roof - the real center of nightlife in Bavaria and all of Germany is located in Kultfabrik at the Ostbahnhof metro station. All establishments are very democratic; poor young people like to come here. If you are mobile, sociable and don’t know exactly what you want, this is the place for you! Naturally, with such diversity, everyone will find music to their liking. And if you get hungry, in the center of the “factory” there is a large food court at your service, open all night long. But be careful: among the motley crowd of drunk students, you may meet those who came not to relax, but to work - to profit from other people's goods. For those who like it hot, there is also an erotic club on offer: you can watch boys and girls writhing in sexy dances, you can order a private striptease - any pleasure for your money. Unlike other nightlife venues, admission here costs 10 euros, but for this price you will be given a voucher for a drink.

And Glockenbachviertel south of Sendlinger Tor is an area where establishments are open for adherents of same-sex love. But we didn’t have time to get there, and we didn’t really want to.

Evening life in Munich

Compared to other major cities, Munich's evening life lacks variety. For a city of this size, there are actually not enough nightclubs in Munich. Therefore, all nightlife establishments are very crowded, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. And yet, recent years have added many new places to the nightlife landscape, mainly beer gardens, and the notorious “closing time” of 1 am has been extended. A little patience and good advice can turn night into day in Munich.

Clubs, discos, halls

Of course, the city has plenty of “glamorous” bars, nightclubs and discos with unforgiving doormen, such as P 1, in which Munich celebrities and “adabei” hang out (from the German “auch dabei” - “also at the same time”, in the sense of “I’m here too”; “adabai” is an upstart, a person who strives to move in the highest spheres, to be in sight, aware of secular news). But recently, as club culture develops, its panorama looks very diverse.

Mecca for the youngest nightlife revelers is a conglomerate of Haidhausen discos Kultfabrik And Optimolwerke, successors of the legendary art park "Ost" (Kunstpark Ost). Over the past ten years, on the territory of the former Pfanni-Werke factories, an independent city district has emerged, calling itself “the largest separation zone in Europe.” Here, side by side, there are halls, discos, clubs and bars with music for every taste.

For teenagers, youth and older people who are interested in, in addition to top ten hits, also independent pop and rock music, the best addresses will be Muffathalle, "Night Gallery" (Nachtgalerie) or Pasinger Fabrik. These clubs were formed from once empty warehouses. It now hosts theme nights and live concerts. The halls host not only dances, but also concerts, readings or theatrical performances. Informals in Munich love to gather in Backstage.

Discotheques for creative youth include Skyline on the M?nchner Freiheit square overlooking Munich, Registration in the old city workshop building or Match Club on Stachus. Near the Donnersberg Bridge (Donnersberger Br?cke) is located a huge size m-park. At its three venues, everyone is sure to find something to suit their taste, from R’n’B, Black Beat and House to Chartbreaker. Please note: mpark is only open on Fridays and Saturdays, and also in the evenings before public holidays.

Havanna Club, Pacific Times and Schumann's– a classic among Munich bars.

Club "Pasha" (Pacha) often called the "P 1" club because of its artistic audience. While pop music is popular at Pasha, current fashion trends, the club Soul City in the same building he prefers the music of yesteryear. The 70s and 80s come to life here; and the gay public also feels at home here.

A new recreation area has developed on Sonnenstrasse: crowds of people come to have fun in Cord Club, Milchbar, Club 59 to 1 and gay club N. Y. Club(“strictly men only”).

Only once a year does the Long Night of Music happen.

Bars, bistros, pubs

The Gärtnerplatz area - between the Isar, the Viktualienmarkt and the Sendlinger Tor - is home to a huge number of drinking establishments. Their palette is varied - from artistic clubs or miniature zucchini to Frauenhof wine cellars. Representatives of the gay community prefer to gather in this quarter.

There are the same many bars and beer gardens in the districts of Haidhausen and Schwabing, and in Haidhausen they are decorated with deliberate negligence, and in Schwabing, on the contrary, with great chic.

There are real student pubs concentrated around the university, such as Atzinger(recently renovated) and legendary Alte Simple, a former local bohemian pub that has been around for over 100 years. But the university quarter also has elegant bars, such as Brik And News Bar.

For a long time, lovers of a fun life avoided the city center, but now the situation has clearly improved. Maximilian Square (Maximiliansplatz) has always been a good place for idle night owls, but now you can find more and more cute pubs and bars on the side streets of the pedestrian zone.

There is no shortage of audiences and Schlachthof quarter, where new cafes, bars and restaurants are constantly opening.

Music bars

The type of music bars where live jazz and/or soul are performed on small stages, on the contrary, are struggling to survive. But some establishments have gained good fame and won a constant circle of fans. So they will probably flourish in the coming years: Schwabinger Podium, famous throughout Europe jazz club "Tunnel" (Jazzclub Unterfahrt), small, cute Mister B.'s– jazz club No. 1 among saxophonists; Kaffee Giesing, made famous by Konstantin Wekker and Sunday music sessions, and Jazzbar Vogler near Viktualienmarkt.

Night on the road

In the past, many people in Munich grumbled about the strict closing time of restaurants at 1 am and about the way public transport operated at night. Now something has been done in this regard: there is now a “night bus”, many bars and restaurants are open until 3 o’clock, and large halls are open even longer.

If anyone wants to get home by public transport between 1 and 5 a.m., then you can plan for this if you plan your route in advance. At the end of the week, most metro lines operate until 2 o'clock, the overground train "lumpenzammler" (lit. "waste collector, rag picker", a humorous name for the last train) runs between 2 and 3 o'clock, and night buses And night trams run all night. Traffic is particularly well organized at Karlsplatz and at the Ostbahnhof eastern train station.

If you are not going to go home, but want to go somewhere else, then the route is ideal for you Club and Line: every week on Friday and Saturday evenings, two 18-meter accordion buses tour the city's leading clubs between Kultfabrik And Backstage. The salon has its own DJ and bartender.

What a great city Munich is! Indeed, there is definitely something to do there. There's a whole sea of clubs here! Now I’ll tell you where you can go in the evening and where to dance in Munich.

This club is considered one of the swankiest and most famous clubs in Munich - and perhaps in all of Germany. “P1” regularly attracts the cream of society to its parties, and here you can also meet world celebrities, football players, actors and models.

Located next to the famous Haus Der Kunst museum and beautifully decorated, the club consists of two large rooms, each with its own DJ, playing music of various genres. Subdued purple lighting, suspended ceilings and a light show create a rather surreal atmosphere inside, while the cozy terrace invites you to relax a bit on leather sofas and candlelight. Entrance to the club is free, but drinks are quite expensive (for example, cocktails from 10 euros, beer at least 4 euros), and the club also has a strict dress code (in fact, very much!). It is not possible to have a snack or dinner at the club. The best parties are on Friday and Saturday from 11pm (and until 5am), although the bar is open from 7pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

"Pacha"

One of the most famous chains of clubs around the world. Situated on the stunning Maximiliansplatz square, this club is one of the most popular in the city. The most beautiful people in Munich flock there, dressed to the nines (this is about the dress code).

The club has a pretty nice interior - light wood, lots of mirrors, bronze accents, cream leather sofas, and, of course, the club's cherry logos everywhere. The lounge area is chic and has a spacious dance floor in the center and another smaller one. Although the decor creates a casual atmosphere, the place attracts the most glamorous girls and elegant men. Particularly crowded are the club's special events, such as Oktoberfest, and outdoor parties. Music - hip-hop, r&b, club, house. Entrance fee € 5 - € 10. Beer - from € 4, cocktails - from € 10, a bottle of champagne - € 150. The hottest parties are on Thursdays (you can enter as early as 18:30), but Fridays and Saturdays are also great ( from 22:00)

The club opened in 2004 and is located next to the Isar River, in the Muffathalle concert complex. This in itself is a very unusual place, since the complex was converted from an old hydroelectric power station. The live music concerts and dance club offer a slightly slower pace after the hellish parties in the city's upscale venues. An alternative atmosphere created by interesting decor, hot pink walls, subdued lighting and trendy touches in the interior. The most diverse crowd gathers here - hipsters, rockers, and glamorous youth who came to dance the night away. A small space makes the environment more intimate. It is better to come to the club closer to midnight, when the party is in full swing. By the way, parties take place here every day. Address: Ledererstrasse 3 (nearest metro station – Odeonsplatz)

Cohibar City

A vibrant Cuban bar in the center of Munich. The club is located in the basement, with rather dim lighting, photographs of Che Guevara, and a large selection of rum. It's not a club like the others - it's a very relaxed, nice bar/club that hosts salsa parties and serves exotic, strong cocktails. Happy Hours - Tue-Sat 20:00-22:00. Beer - from € 3, cocktails - € 8, delicious shots - from € 2.50. Weekend parties are the most popular, but the place also gets packed by 11:00 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Address: Herzog-Rudolf-Strasse 2 (Metro Marienplatz)

"Ksar Barclub"

An unusual club with an alternative atmosphere in a lively area of the city. The club attracts a wide variety of people who want to relax in a pleasant environment and where they can drink exotic cocktails. The interior of the club has pleasant dim lighting, a fireplace, low-hanging lamps, leather sofas. Large windows face the street, so you get a slight feeling that you are in an aquarium. This is a trendy but “unpretentious” club with a wide range of music in the style of house, R&B, hip-hop, trance, lounge and jazz. Large cocktail menu, including special champagne cocktails. Beer costs from €3.20, cocktails from €7.50. The best parties are on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 pm.

Address: Müllerstrasse 31 (Sendlinger Tor metro station)

This, of course, is not all clubs and bars! But these are considered the best.

The connection between flights at Munich Airport is almost 9 hours from 22.00 to 07.00.
About 45 minutes to the city. What interesting things can you see there at such a time?
Are any pubs or shops open this late? Is it safe to wander around Munich at night?

Andrey, as fate would have it, we found ourselves in just such a situation. It turned out that it takes about an hour (36 km) to drive from the airport to the city without traffic jams. According to the meter - 60 euros one way. Electric trains either don’t run this late or rarely run.
Everything in the center is closed at one and a half o'clock in the morning. Taxi driver
took us to Schillergasse, where there was a night bar, but actually this is a red light street. Everything else is closed at night.

Rent a hotel. The money will be cheaper than taking a taxi into the city at night. Munich is absolutely deaf at night. I can recommend a hotel like Regentpark4*, it is located 3 km from the airport, has its own shuttle that runs every half hour. Breakfast at any time during nights. Booking often has discounts on it. We took a night for only 80 euros for four. Excellent hotel. Have pity on yourself and relax in comfortable conditions.

Maybe you should just wander around the center of Munich - Marienplatz and the surrounding streets. Worth it?

not worth it.

Go to the gay club on Schillerstraße. There will be many new interesting experiences. Get your beer from the counter. If you take it at the table, it will be much more expensive.

Me and my wife. Is this decent?

Have pity on yourself and relax in comfortable conditions.

This is a return flight to Moscow. The next day you can rest. It seemed to me that the Cathedral of St. Petra, Frauenkirche, and the streets of Marienplatz are worth a sleepless night. I’m not going to Munich specifically, but this way I could get to know him, even if it’s just a night one.

Munich at night, in my opinion, is not particularly interesting. In the summer, we went out at about 10 p.m. specifically to take night photos, and were very disappointed. It was still lively, especially there were a lot of Turks walking with families, with children, and in some places there were even street musicians singing, but with the lighting there it wasn’t very good, you couldn’t see much. We expected more.

from 22.00 to 07.00

Electric trains either don’t run this late or rarely run.

We left the airport at 23.00 and reached Marienplatz exactly at midnight. Late in the evening and early at night Munich is deserted, and even late at night... I think that you will be alone there...

No, and there are regular clubs, of course =)
All the churches will be closed, I think.

Comparison with Moscow is not entirely correct. In Moscow there are 24-hour large stores where you can try on clothes, shoes or choose spaghetti sauce until the early morning.

If I found myself in such a situation, I would definitely look at the sleeping city at night. Moreover, there is no desire to come specifically.
Gay clubs are not for everyone IMHO. I felt sick there.

Romance. I remember Prague with nostalgia.

Come on... we walked around Prague for up to an hour or two, there were people and many bars were open. The lighting is excellent. We specifically went to Visegrad at night. If only after two in the morning it’s completely quiet... (we don’t know, we were already going to bed). But we lived on Vaclavka, and this is a super place to settle.

You need to look at what time the first S-bahn train leaves in the morning. Since it is a weekend, it can go quite late, around 5 am. The center itself can be walked through during the day in an hour. What to do for the rest of the dead time? "Waiting room" on the 2nd floor The railway station is closed at night.

If I were you, I would walk about 2 hours before (by the way, Hoffbrau is open here until 12, there is a chance to have time to drink 2-3 liters if the plane is not very delayed) 2-3 along Mar..platz and nearby streets inside the small ring, and then along Barerstraße would have walked to Theresienstrasse, past the Pinakothek to the Nazi square itself and, if the imagination had been developed, here I would have remembered excerpts from “17 Moments..”, sung the song “My Shore...”, and played war newsreel footage in my head. Of course, it makes sense to see Munich at night (who needs it during the day)))?).
To understand, I wouldn’t go for a walk in Berlin all night.

From the bad reviews: “They ripped off my credit card there, took three grand from it. They took my card and went with it to drive it. It looks like they charged me the amount either two or three times.”

(He’s probably lying, he probably didn’t drink a thousand bucks).

Well, everything is in the same place, right after the gay bars and video salon there will be No. 11A Broadway Cabaret for them, there are a lot of idiots there, but they are not dangerous. Keep your pockets under control. Nearby is the door of the establishment - Dolly Bar. It’s terribly expensive, but you won’t get robbed there, there’s your own security and in general everything is more or less orderly. However, you shouldn’t relax, because if you drink with the first person you come across, you’ll come out, get hit on the head, and you’ll come to your senses at the police station, but you’ll have lost your wallet.

Femina, door no. 19 Schillerstrasse. There's a cabaret there, but for each drink the guy has to pay €15. not noticed, mostly by guys, of course; The cabaret performance includes a light striptease: the dancers will slowly begin to take off their clothes, but don’t expect them to take everything off.
Yes, here’s another thing: if someone nearby has an erection, they won’t really hide it from your view: why be shy, everyone is their own.

Opposite, door number 16, an establishment with the loud name "Imperial", stairs down to the basement. There you drink with the “beauty” you like; she will separately ask for money for everything that you do with her, if you touch her in different places, then it will cost you “fifty kopecks” in German currency. Yes, and non-alcoholic drinks from € 8, even Fanta or Sprite.

Further walking from the station to the pink lanterns, you will find “Tiffany”, everything there is super expensive, girls are more affordable, unlike “Imperial”, you can even take these girls with you in agreement with the management of the establishment. Prepare a stolnichek for a stick. Well, pay for the drinks in full at the strip club itself. Deffki speak English poorly, but if you didn’t come to “talk”, then the tongue and other parts of the body will speak for you.

All this on Schillerstrasse works until four in the morning; as a rule, after three, few people are interested in anything at all in these places: everyone is either “ready” in the insole, or ready for other processes, or they have already been completed manually. Well, the dishes are cleared away, the bartender polishes the glasses, and little by little everything is washed away.

Good luck; I hope I have refreshed your mood. Think a hundred times whether you will drag your missus to these evil places.
