What's interesting here?

Koenig's "Sugar" Castle is perhaps, if not the most beautiful place in the Kharkov region, then in the Bogodukhovsky district - 100%. Everyone who has ever been there comes and enthusiastically tells their friends about what they saw. It’s not for nothing that wedding photo shoots take place almost every day on the territory of this palace. Let's look at the photo.

Looking at the photographs, it becomes clear why people come here from all over the country. And even photographs cannot convey the feeling that those who have been there usually try to retell. Amazing beauty, very dilapidated buildings, sometimes it even seems that it is better not to touch anything, every step, railing, and walls are so saturated with antiquity. Nearby there is a wonderful alley of trees, the branches of which grow straight up. Previously, they were cut so that the carriage could freely come and go from the castle.

Objects on the estate:

- towers in the Gothic style;

— a cascade of artificial ponds;

— stone bridges and fountains;

— the palace itself has 3 halls and 26 rooms!

- and much more.

A little history

A little about the history of this magical place (we are very lucky that it is so close to Kharkov!).

The construction of the castle began in 1836, when landowner Pavel Olkhovsky ordered the construction of the Sharovskaya estate on the banks of the Merchik River, and a park around it. But the estate acquired its name only when in the 19th century it had a new owner - Baron Leopold Koenig. Since then local residents They call this building the “sugar castle.”

If you study the life history of these people, you can find boring moments and, on the contrary, very interesting ones. There are even legends. But as often happens, guides and tour guides often come up with different stories for popular tourist places to make it interesting and exciting. The travel agency "Savages" prefers to indicate only the facts in order to be closer to our real and truthful history. You can invent a legend in 5 minutes, but is it better than what actually happened?
