The Crimean Bridge is a gigantic pointless construction project. When will the bridge to Crimea be built?

According to him, the development of the transport system of Crimea and Sevastopol is the most important direction of the federal target program. In addition to the construction of the bridge, the reconstruction of highways is envisaged, the volume of financing is 112 billion rubles. First of all, it is planned to reconstruct the road Kerch - Belogorsk - Simferopol - Bakhchisarai - Sevastopol. The development of air transportation serviced by the airports "Simferopol" and "Belbek" is also envisaged.

Construction of approaches to the bridge crossing to Crimea will begin in August at the expense of Russian Railways, said Minister for Crimean Affairs Oleg Savelyev.

“In fact, (the construction of) approaches will begin in August at the expense of Russian Railways,” Savelyev said. “We will experience quite large costs and problems during the construction of approaches to the bridge from the Krasnodar Territory.”

The minister recalled that the total cost of the bridge crossing to Crimea will be about 247 billion rubles. The bridge will be built on the route to the island of Tuzla, “so as not to interfere with the work of the ferry crossing and reduce technological risks.”

Maximum project cost, including design and survey work, will amount to 228.3 billion rubles, of which 227.8 billion rubles will be allocated from the federal target program “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol until 2020.” In 2014, it is planned to finance the project in the amount of 500 million rubles from budgetary allocations provided for by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation under the subsection “General Economic Issues”.

Previously, the federal target program planned to spend 246.9 billion rubles on the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait.

Rosavtodor is responsible for the implementation of the project. The bridge is planned to be built before 2018. The total length of the transport crossing is 19 km.

It was planned to build the bridge in two stages: the 1st from the fall of 2014, the second from 2018. The first stage of the bridge will consist of a railway track and a highway with one lane in each direction. In the future, it is planned to expand the bridge. Financing for the construction of the first stage of the bridge will amount to 170 billion rubles, but after a meeting with the participation of the President of Russia and the announcement of the completion date of all work, it was decided to build the bridge in one stage. Financing will be provided entirely from the federal budget of the Russian Federation. The total cost of the project is 283 billion rubles.

On September 5, 2014, construction of transport (road and rail) approaches to the bridge began.

On October 1, 2014, the Ukrainian side officially announced that it was terminating the agreement on the construction of a bridge across the strait.

On October 29, 2014, the representative of the Republic of Crimea under the President of the Russian Federation, Georgy Muradov, proposed building a modular flexible tunnel instead of the bridge.

On November 8, 2014, it was announced that the implementation of the project would be carried out by Rosavtodor, and the full feasibility study of the project, which is currently being carried out by the Avtodor Group of Companies, will be ready by early December. At the same time, Deputy Head of Rosavtodor Andrei Kostyuk said that the decision has already been made and the bridge design has already been determined - it will be a four-lane electrified combined road and railway bridge.

On December 9, 2014, there is still no single contractor for the construction of the bridge. By the end of the year, the Russian government must select the only contractor for the contract for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait worth 228 billion rubles (excluding approaches from Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory). The construction project has not yet been fully approved; no one understands what kind of geology there is.

The bridge is unlikely to be built without Ukraine's consent

12/24/2014 the situation surrounding the construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait is becoming increasingly confusing. Until now, it seemed that the main problem was the lack of a feasibility study and a general contractor for the project, but yesterday the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said that the construction of the bridge requires the consent of Ukraine, which Kyiv will not give, and proposed building a tunnel. Maritime law experts confirm that existing treaties require the bridge project to be agreed upon with Ukraine, and say that Kyiv has the right to challenge the construction in international courts.

According to him, this is due “to international legal norms, according to which the Sea of Azov is a zone of general navigation.” Obtaining Ukraine’s consent “is unlikely to be possible,” the official noted, adding that the construction of an underground passage will be cheaper and does not require approval.

Useful information for vacationers: cozy hotels in Feodosia at affordable prices

Russia and Ukraine have been trying to determine the legal status of the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait for about 20 years. In 2003, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation in the use of the Azov-Kerch water area as “internal waters of two states”; all issues should be regulated by an agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine. In 2012, the countries signed a statement on the delimitation of maritime space, but administrative boundaries were not established, and the use of the water area is still determined by the 2003 treaty.
The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties applies to the 2003 treaty. This means that the Russian Federation cannot violate its terms unless it suspends it, citing, for example, the provisions of Article 62 “Fundamental change in circumstances,” implying a change in the status of Crimea. But, he notes, most countries do not recognize the transition of Crimea to the Russian Federation, and Ukraine has every chance to challenge this “fundamental change” in an international court or in the UN conciliation commission, and, as practice shows, such processes can take decades. Kirill Dozmarov from Art De Lex believes that due to plans to build a transport crossing, Ukraine is under the threat of blocking the strait for the transit of its own ships.

In 2015, a general contractor was found for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait

01/14/2015 The general contractor for the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait will be the Stroygazmontazh company of billionaire Arkady Rotenberg, allegedly a friend of Putin.

The choice of Stroygazmontazh was largely justified precisely by the fact that “the company has at least some general contracting experience.” Previously, Stroygazmontazh acted as the general contractor for the construction of the Russkaya compressor station at South Stream.

The draft government order on the appointment of Rotenberg’s structure as the executor and the draft agreement with this company have already been sent for approval to the relevant ministries and departments. The full list of participants in the large-scale project has not yet been formed. It is expected that half of the work will be done by Stroygazmontazh, and the rest will be done by other construction companies.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree appointing the Stroygazmontazha company as the sole contractor for the design and construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait.

As part of the federal target program (FTP) for the socio-economic development of Crimea, 247 billion rubles will be allocated for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait, and this amount does not include long-distance approaches. According to the plan of the Russian authorities, the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait should be built in 2018-2020.

February 4, 2015 At a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin with members of the government, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak reported:

“As a result of competitive negotiations and through the optimization of technological solutions, it was possible to reduce the maximum cost of the bridge by 19 billion rubles, in accordance with the current Federal Target Program, this transition costs almost 247 billion rubles, today the maximum price is by order of the government, under the contract, which is currently is 228.3 billion rubles."

“This price cannot be changed either during design or during construction under the terms of the contract,” he emphasized.

The opening of road traffic in working mode and the start of temporary operation of the railway line are planned for December 18, 2018. The width of the Kerch Strait is from 4.5 to 15 kilometers. According to the published order No. 118-r dated January 30 on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation, the cost of the work will be 228.3 billion rubles.

The Cabinet of Ministers included the passage through the Kerch Strait, which will be built by 2018, into the M25 highway (A290)

The construction of a transport crossing through this strait will ensure the creation of a new transport connection between the mainland of the Russian Federation and the Crimean peninsula

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed decree No. 412 dated April 28, 2015 on the inclusion of sections of roads and a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait, which will be built by 2018, as part of the public highway of federal significance M25 (old registration number, which can also be used until December 31, 2017) (A290) is a federal highway of Russia. It takes place within the Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Crimea. It is part of the European route E 97.

The construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait will ensure the creation of a new transport connection between the mainland and the Crimean peninsula using a highway, the resolution notes. The new transport route will include, among other things, the planned access from the highway to the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait, the access from the transport crossing through the Kerch Strait to Kerch, as well as road approaches to the ports of Kavkaz and Taman.

The resolution introduced corresponding changes to the list of public roads of federal significance and to the list of other federal roads.

According to the government order, the opening of road traffic on the bridge across the Kerch Strait should begin in December 2018. The commissioning of the bridge and completion of the government contract are planned for the summer of 2019.

On May 16, work began on the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait in Crimea.

At the moment, the construction of the bridge is underway on the coast of the Krasnodar Territory, as well as on the island of Tuzla, which is located in the Kerch Strait between Crimea and mainland Russia.

According to the latest information, construction of a temporary technological bridge has begun in the Krasnodar Territory. According to experts, such a crossing is necessary in order to transport materials and equipment for the future capital structure.

The design of the bridge across the Kerch Strait itself is planned to be completed by June 30. The length of the bridge will be 19 km, the new structure will include both a road crossing with two lanes in each direction and two railway tracks.

Preparation of materials for the seizure of land plots for construction needs will be completed by August 5. By this time, the infrastructure necessary to begin this large-scale construction will be prepared.

The new bridge's piles will be driven down to bedrock to a depth of 70 meters. The assembly of the spans is planned to be carried out at the Kerch shipyard "Zaliv".

“This will be an ordinary, but very technological bridge using exclusively domestic materials, structures, and technologies. Therefore, we are confident that our transport industry, our road bridge builders will be able to implement this project on time,” said Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov.

He said that the main stage of preparatory work both for the construction of the bridge and those related to the development of a feasibility study has been completed. A contract for the construction and design of the bridge was concluded with a fixed price. Work is underway to lay road and railway approaches.

“I can say that not only me, but also our entire team that is involved in this project, has always had confidence in their abilities and the ability to implement this project. Really difficult geological conditions. The seismicity of the object is 9 points.... But still, despite these risks, as well as environmental and archaeological.... Still, this project can be implemented,” Sokolov noted.

The Government of the Russian Federation appointed the Stroygazmontazh company, businessman Arkady Rotenberg, as the contractor for the design and construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait. The width of the Kerch Strait ranges from 4.5 to 15 kilometers.

The procurement of work with a total cost of 228.3 billion rubles will be carried out by the Rosavtodor institution FKU Uprdor Taman. Engineering surveys and the development of design documentation for sending it for state examination must be completed before June 30 of this year. The opening of road traffic in working mode and the beginning temporary operation of the railway line is planned for December 2018.

Builders drive piles to create a crossing

From the side of the Kerch Peninsula, work has begun on the construction of a temporary bridge, which will become a corridor along which construction materials and utilities will be transferred to the other side.

The roar could be heard even on the city embankment. The work is in full swing. Builders mark concrete piles, and equipment drills the soil and immerses the supports into it.

08/17/2015 and the construction site of the bridge across the Kerch Strait was hammered

the first pile. Currently, builders from the Kerch side are cutting through the soil with huge drills, the diameter of which reaches half a meter.

According to the press service of the city administration, meter marks are placed on the piles to control how deep the structure has entered the ground.

On August 31, 2015, temporary working bridges began to be built between Taman and Kerch.

The first bridge will be completed this fall. It will connect the Taman side and the island of Tuzla. Two more working bridges - from Tuzla Island to the shipping canal and from the canal to Kerch - will be created by the summer of 2016. Auxiliary bridges will provide weather-independent access to construction points.

“This is an important component of the preparatory period activities. They are intended for the delivery of materials and equipment to the site of the main work and for transport communications,” noted the SGM-Most company.

Earlier, soil strength tests began in the construction area of the bridge across the Kerch Strait.

Construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait is on schedule

Construction work on the construction of automobile approaches and a transport crossing through the Kerch Strait is proceeding on time and without violations, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Government Dmitry Kozak told reporters during an inspection of construction on the island of Tuzla.

“The construction of the bridge crossing is progressing on time, without any disruptions. At the same time, the tasks of connecting the island of Crimea with the mainland of the Russian Federation were being solved. Several technological problems are being solved at once, such as the construction of temporary auxiliary structures, as well as the laying of a main gas pipeline and an energy bridge to Crimea. All work is being carried out according to schedule," Kozak said.

01.10.2015 year, traffic was opened on the first of three working bridges necessary for the construction of a transport crossing across the Kerch Strait. A temporary bridge has been laid between the Taman Peninsula and Tuzla Island.

“After the bridge is put into operation, we will be able to carry out delivery flows of inert materials and metal structures for subsequent stages of construction of the transport crossing around the clock in one direction and the other,” said Leonid Ryzhenkin, head of the special projects department at Stroygazmontazh.

The structure of the first temporary bridge included 58 supports, which were sunk to a depth of 56 meters. Traveling to the other side by truck takes no more than 5 minutes, on foot – 15 minutes. The total weight of metal structures used in the construction of the working bridge exceeds 3.5 thousand tons. Before launching construction equipment onto the temporary bridge, the builders successfully tested the bridge structure for loads. To do this, trucks weighing 45 tons were driven across the bridge in both directions.

“Based on the results of static tests, it was found that the bridge fully complies with the design prerequisites. There are no residual deformations, the deflections correspond to the design ones. The bridge can be operated under the influence of super-heavy, special loads during the construction of the Kerch Bridge,” noted Svetlana, General Director of the Research Institute of Diagnostics Bokhanova.

According to the contractor's representative, two other bridges - from Tuzla Island to the shipping canal and from the fairway to the Kerch coast - will be ready by the summer of 2016. The structures will ensure the delivery of workers, cargo and equipment, including heavy cranes with a lifting capacity of up to 250 tons, to the work site along the entire construction front, regardless of weather conditions.

Currently, preparations for construction are underway, work is being carried out on the shores and in the waters of the strait simultaneously. Thus, in the city of Kerch and in the village of Taman, rotational camps are being created to accommodate bridge workers, and mobile factories for the production of concrete and asphalt have been put into operation.

“One of the towns, designed for more than 500 builders, has already been built and put into operation on the Taman side. A second town is being created next to it, where dormitories and hotels will be provided for more than 3 thousand builders,” the Stroygazmontazh company reported.

The Stroygazmontazh company noted that during the construction of the bridge, more than 5 thousand people will be able to live in residential complexes on the Taman and Kerch banks. Such infrastructure will make it possible to employ more than ten thousand construction workers working on shifts at the peak of construction.

Shift camps for future builders of the bridge across the Kerch Strait include: two- and three-story dormitories for workers and engineers, construction headquarters, checkpoints, canteens, bath and laundry modules, and medical stations.

In order to check the first temporary bridge, a column of loaded trucks passed across it. The bridge passed the tests successfully.

The official presentation of the bridge across the Kerch Strait has taken place!

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev was presented with a project for the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait. The presentation took place within the framework of the International Investment Forum "Sochi-2015".

Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov demonstrated to the head of government on a three-dimensional model how the shipping arch would be constructed. According to him, its height will be 35 meters. At this point the bridge will be divided into railway and automobile branches.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak assured Medvedev that “everything is going according to plan.” The Prime Minister asked: “When is the deadline?”

“It is planned to open the labor movement in December 2018,” replied the head of the Ministry of Transport. The Prime Minister called for adherence to these deadlines “so that later there will be no problems of a different order.”

According to the project presentation, the total length of the bridge will be 19 kilometers, the greatest depth of the piles will be 70 meters. The bridge supports will be installed outside the tectonic fault zone.

According to the project, the bridge bypasses zones of volcanic activity. It is assumed that the automobile part of the crossing will have four lanes with an estimated speed of 120 km/h. It is also planned to build two railway tracks with a design speed of 120 km/h for passenger trains and 80 km/h for freight trains. The width of the shipping arch will be 227 meters and will not create barriers to ship traffic.

It is expected that due to the Kerch Bridge, by 2019 the intensity of automobile traffic will be 12 thousand 800 cars, by 2025 - 21 thousand cars, by 2040 - 40 thousand cars. The railway traffic intensity will be 47 pairs of trains in 2019 and will increase from 50 to 65 pairs from 2025 to 2040, respectively.

According to calculations, passenger and cargo traffic will increase from 14 million in 2019 to 15 million in 2025, and by 2040 this figure will be more than 17 million.

Currently, preparations are underway for the construction of a bridge to Crimea, Sokolov noted. The work is being carried out on the shores and in the waters of the Kerch Strait simultaneously. Thus, in the city of Kerch and in the village of Taman, rotational camps are being created to accommodate bridge workers, and mobile factories for the production of concrete and asphalt have been put into operation.

The presentation of the project notes that bypass routes are being formed, along which materials will be delivered to the construction site, bypassing populated areas. Temporary bridges are being built in the waters of the strait to transport construction workers, cargo and equipment to the work site. At the same time, the temporary infrastructure should ensure the prompt and uninterrupted supply of resources necessary for the construction of the bridge, and the presence of its own production base will allow construction and installation work to begin simultaneously in eight sections and complete the entire volume within the established time frame by December 2018.

In particular, three temporary “working” bridges are being built in the Kerch Strait, the first of which is already ready. The length of the crossing is more than a kilometer and connects the Taman side and the island of Tuzla. For this purpose, 58 supports were installed, the piles were immersed to a depth of 56 meters. Traveling across the bridge by truck takes no more than 5 minutes, on foot - 15 minutes.

Earlier it became known that the bridge across the Kerch Strait will consist of parallel road and rail crossings. As stated in the official statement of Rosavtodor, the road bridge is designed according to the requirements of automobile category 1B (4 lanes) with an estimated speed of 120 km/h. Travel on the highway will be free.
In the first year of operation, the traffic intensity on the highway will average about 12.8 thousand vehicles per day, and after 5 years the flow will increase by more than 60%, exceeding the figure of 21 thousand vehicles per day. The bridge will reach its design capacity of up to 40 thousand cars per day in 18-19 years.
As for the railway, thanks to the new bridge it will be able to transport 14 million passengers and 13 million tons of cargo annually. The railway bridge will meet the requirements of the second category and will include two tracks. Passenger trains will be able to reach speeds of up to 120 km/h, and freight trains – up to 80 km/h.
At the same time, the designers note that they assessed potential users of the bridge. Conventionally, they are divided into three categories. The inner circle includes residents of Kerch (almost 150 thousand) and the Temryuk region (more than 120 thousand) - these are those who live in close proximity to the crossing, that is, they will be able to travel along it daily if necessary. The second circle is the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (more than 2.2 million inhabitants) and the Krasnodar Territory with a population of more than 5.4 million people. And finally, residents of the rest of Russia and other countries who will prefer rail and road transport to travel to Crimea on vacation or on business will be able to use the bridge across the Kerch Strait.

A recruitment of workers for the construction of the Kerch Bridge has been announced in Crimea

Only subcontractor organizations registered in Crimea, which have not yet been identified, will be able to recruit workers. But those interested can already contact the Employment Centers at their place of residence.

“By the time construction begins, the contractor will identify subcontracting organizations that will directly involve people in the construction of the bridge. Companies with which contracts will be concluded will be required to register their branches or official representative offices in the territory of the Republic of Crimea. People will be recruited through these subcontracting organizations. The corresponding applications will be submitted us,” said the director of the Kerch Employment Center.

He also assured that the Kerch Employment Center is in constant contact with official representatives of the general contractor - the Stroygazmontazh company - and by the time the first applications are received, it will be ready to organize job fairs and advanced training courses for blue-collar professions, the need for which will be stated. “It is expected that serious requirements will be imposed on the selection of personnel. Preference will be given to employees with high qualifications and work experience. It is planned to attract workers in various professions: concrete workers, reinforcement workers, slingers, welders, drivers, workers related to the maintenance of the rotation camp, engineering highly qualified technical workers and others,” emphasized Vadim Kutuzov.

Contracting organizations involved in the preparatory stage of construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait have already involved more than 1.7 thousand employees in the work, including more than 100 residents of Crimea. This was reported today by the press service of the bridge construction contractor, Stroygazmontazh (SGM).

“At the moment, the contractors involved by SGM have already involved more than 1.7 thousand employees in the work at the preparatory stage, including more than 100 residents of Crimea and almost 600 residents of the Krasnodar Territory,” SGM reported.

Rosavtodor plans to begin construction of a bridge to Crimea in January 2016

The head of Rosavtodor, Roman Starovoyt, said that the department plans to receive a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza for the bridge project across the Krechensky Strait by the end of 2015. The start of the project is scheduled for January 2016. He added that preparatory work is being completed, construction camps with 5 thousand jobs have been erected.

“We expect to receive a positive conclusion from the Glavgosexpertiza on this project before the New Year so that construction can begin directly in January 2016... The so-called working bridge number one has been put into operation, which has already connected the Tuzlinskaya Spit and the island of Tuzla, which legally belongs to Republic of Crimea. We are bringing building materials, structures, and equipment to the island in order to begin the construction of this significant facility at the beginning of 2016."

Putin visited the construction site of the Kerch Bridge section on March 18, 2016

Russian President Vladimir Putin inspected the construction site of the Kerch Bridge section and talked with the builders.

General Director of SGM Most, Alexander Ostrovsky, told the head of state about the progress of construction work. The site is divided into eight sections, and work has begun on each of them. At the same time, construction does not interfere with shipping.

Ostrovsky also told the president about the materials used and all stages of the work. According to him, the necessary mechanisms and materials are available at all construction sites.

Putin also spoke with the builders involved in the construction of the bridge and noted the importance of their work.

According to the builders, during preparation for the work, many historical monuments were discovered. All of them are carefully preserved. In addition, significant demining work was carried out, during which many explosive objects were discovered.

Many Russians note that the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait is a real construction project of the 21st century. There has never been a construction project of this scale in the history of Russia! Below you can find out all the details and features of the construction; the latest news, photographs, and characteristics of the future structure will be presented.

What is the Crimean Bridge?

The bridge, which will connect the Taman Peninsula of continental Russia with that in the east of Crimea, promises to be a discovery in the coming years. This is because it will provide the opportunity for continuous communication between the Russian Federation and Tavrida - by rail and road.

Where is the bridge located on the map?

It will be located in the Kerch Strait, passing from Taman through the spit and Tuzla Island and reaching the southern part of the city of Kerch, to the Nizhnyaya Cementnaya Slobodka microdistrict. Here is its location on the map:

Open map

Main characteristics

Reportedly, the total length of the structure will be 19 km, with bridges only on the Taman-Tuzla and Tuzla-Kerch sections, their length being 1.4 and 6.1 km, respectively. How many kilometers will it take to cross the Taman Peninsula and Tuzlinskaya Spit? Based on the calculation - 5 and 6.5 km.

Briefly about the history of the first Kerch Bridge

Of course, we could not ignore the fact that the current Crimean Bridge project is not the first. The idea to build it across arose during the Russian Empire, at the beginning of the 20th century, but attempts to implement it occurred only in 1942-1943, and not by Soviet, but by German developers, during the Second World War. But they failed to implement their ideas: the Red Army launched a counteroffensive.

In 1944, the USSR authorities decided to build the Kerch railway bridge. Due to the relative simplicity of the design, work proceeded very quickly - movement began here at the end of the year. However, by using simple techniques, using partially wooden piles and span elements, the managers ended up with a vulnerable structure that quickly fell into disrepair.

The first Crimean bridge 1944

Other attempts were made, plans and projects were developed, but they were not implemented - in 1950, at the top of the Soviet Union they decided to stop construction work and begin to work closely on the construction, through which both cargo and passenger ships reach Crimea to this day.

Yes, the Kerch Bridge is a complex project, both technically and ideologically. However, by taking a competent approach to the matter and analyzing in detail the features of the local landscape, you can bring it to life, which is what Russian specialists are doing now. Very soon we will be awaiting that very long-awaited moment of the opening of a new, truly grandiose transport hub, which will greatly increase the tourist flow by !

— is in full swing. They work at eight sites at once. The main outlines of the future bridge across the Kerch Strait are already visible from space. So far, construction is being carried out in full compliance with the schedule. By the end of 2018, the automobile part of the bridge should be launched, and a year later the railway will open. The total length of the Kerch transport crossing will be 19 kilometers.

Another infrastructure project no less important for Crimea is the construction of a new one, which will become a continuation of the Kerch Bridge and will go deep into the peninsula. The length of the future Tavrida will be about 300 kilometers. The route will be of the first category, four lanes - two in both directions - and will run along the route Kerch - Feodosia - Belogorsk - Simferopol - Bakhchisaray - Sevastopol.

Now “Tavrida” is an old road, almost broken in places. And if the new route does not work synchronously with the Kerch Bridge, then a bottleneck effect is guaranteed. All efforts to build the bridge will go down the drain, the crossing will simply stop.

The government has confirmed: there will be money. The schedule has also been announced: until March 2017 - design and survey work, then, according to the head of the Republic of Crimea Sergei Aksenov, in 2018 two Tavrida lanes will be launched - one in both directions - and by 2020 more will be completed.

The construction of the Kerch Bridge and the Tavrida highway is under the special control of President Putin. Sergei Aksenov assures: “All the tasks set by the President of the Russian Federation will be completed on time.”

Houses located in the zone and the Tavrida highway, Crimean authorities. Already in December, Crimeans will begin to move into new apartments. Some new residents have already seen their future home and are satisfied.

In the barn, built with my own hands, there are chickens, ducks and 12 cows. Small farm for a large family. The Lokhmatov family has lived in one of the houses on the outskirts of Kerch for more than twenty years. Where in Soviet times there were barracks for the garrison of the Kerch fortress, there are real barracks without gas, water or toilets. Of all the amenities - only electricity. Lyudmila and her husband did everything here themselves - in fact, they built the whole house from scratch. We installed water and sewerage. They added rooms for four children. And this is how many people live here.

The beginning of the construction of the Crimean Bridge, which can be observed from virtually every window here, radically changed the lives of almost 80 families. Residents of Cementnaya Slobodka - this is the name of this district of Kerch - will soon move to a new house. The old one is included in the sanitary protection zone of the bridge and is subject to demolition. This is the last autumn when you have to heat your apartment with wood or coal. These houses are still heated by stoves.

The walls are cracked, the roof has almost collapsed. They had been planning to resettle people from these houses for a long time, but there was simply no money in the city budget for this. Now the residents of the cement settlement are in for big changes.

Lyubov Yakovlevna and her grandson Timur are ready to move. They had already collected almost everything - dishes in boxes, summer clothes in bags, carpets rolled up. Living in a house that has never undergone major renovations is simply unbearable. The housewarming will be celebrated in December.

For the residents of Cementnaya Slobodka, an entire microdistrict is being built almost in the center of Kerch. All stages of construction of the residential complex are monitored by the Crimean Bridge Public Council. This issue is under the personal control of the head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov.

“There will be contact with people,” Aksenov assured. “They will take into account wishes for finishing, no one will be abandoned. We tried to delve into the details that worried everyone as much as possible. It’s a reputational issue. No one will let you down in terms of deadlines, we will accept quality.”

“The difference between what they had and what they will have is big. This is modern housing. Everything is gasified, the area has the appropriate infrastructure,” said Nikolai Dolgachev, chairman of the Public Council of the Crimean Bridge.

The new residential complex consists of two three-story houses with autonomous heating. The foundations are already ready, the walls are being erected, and all utilities are connected. According to the plan, there will be a children's play area and a sports ground. Two steps from the house there is a school and a kindergarten - something that the residents of Cementnaya Slobodka sorely lacked.

The Crimean Bridge is also being built at an accelerated pace, in some places even ahead of schedule. From the observation deck, the construction site is clearly visible. Despite gusty winds and storms, work does not stop for a minute.

The largest and most complex part of the Crimean Bridge is the shipping arch. Now it looks like a huge metal construction set. Arched spans are assembled in stages - in stages. First - the lower parts. This is where cars and trains will travel. The length of the arch will be 227 meters - more than two football fields. Such a long span over the sea is being created for the first time in the history of domestic bridge construction.

The parts are assembled into blocks with pinpoint precision. Each bolt, and more than a million of them are needed for shipping spans, is tightened by the builders by hand. Already under the finished arch, any ships will be able to freely pass from the Black Sea to the Azov Sea and back.

And on the island of Tuzla, builders concreted the first slab of the roadway. This is the basis of the future road surface. The asphalting of the spans will begin simultaneously when all the slabs are concreted. The bridge will open to traffic in two years.

Question, when will the bridge across the Kerch Strait be built?, excites the minds of many. This is not surprising, since the first development of the structure began more than a hundred years ago. Work began several times, but it was not successful. Now the bridge across the Kerch Strait, the timing of completion and the scale of construction are being discussed by many media and on the sidelines of offices.

The result of the work will be the connection of the coasts of the Taman and Crimean peninsulas. People will have the opportunity to directly go to any city in the sunny region without crossing the borders of a neighboring state, which in light of current events is very inconvenient. The timing of the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait is not dry numbers. This is a dream of people that has developed over the years. People tried to get from Kuban to Crimea without queues and wasting time back in ancient times. The bridge existed for some time, but it was temporary and could not withstand long-term use. The completion of the construction of the bridge across the Kerch Strait will fulfill the aspirations of many.

Crossing action

Since 1954, a ferry service has been operating, which, to the extent possible, meets the needs of carriers. There are several platforms that transport goods and people. They may not operate smoothly due to weather conditions. In such conditions, a photo of the construction of a bridge across the Kerch Strait pleasantly pleases the soul. The crossing can only function in good weather, when there is no storm. In winter, the movement of the platforms stops. In the spring, waves often rise due to strong winds, which impedes the movement of the ferry.

When will the bridge across the Kerch Strait be built?

How the bridge across the Kerch Strait is growing, the stage of its construction and the timing of the completion of the project cannot but worry tourists. According to preliminary estimates, it is planned to complete the road track by 2018, and already in 2019 the railway line will be put into operation. In order not to miss the stated deadlines, work is proceeding at an accelerated pace. Work is being carried out on two banks, the Tuzluk Spit and the sea gap. Our specialists strictly follow the installation instructions. Peculiar climatic conditions and the abundance of ice masses in winter can make their own adjustments. Therefore, Crimean news covers the bridge across the Kerch Strait, videos and information about it in great detail.

The same cannot be said about further video materials. Contractors plan to complete the main work in the first year.

The bridge across the Kerch Strait photo from the 2016 summer period is already quite definite. There are working structures, piles have been driven in, supports have been installed. Eight spans are formed. All of them are being built almost simultaneously. The photo of the bridge to Crimea across the Kerch Strait clearly shows this. Anyone can inquire about what is happening at the construction site. The scale of work is very extensive. It is necessary to install load-bearing supports and protect them from the ice mass before cold weather and frosts.

You can see the bridge across the Kerch Strait in a satellite photo and understand how it will unite the two southern shores.

Almost 3 years have passed since the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait received its first contractor, almost a record time for such activities. In March 2018, the President of Russia said that the opening of the bridge could happen earlier than scheduled, which raised many questions - is this so and what will the early delivery of the facility affect?

In fact…

It should be taken into account that there was talk about building a bridge between Crimea and the Taman Peninsula during the times of peaceful relations between Russia and Ukraine, and the first thoughts about this arose back in 2008. Then the residents of both countries were already waiting for the bridge to Crimea to be opened. Russia subsequently included this project in the list of transport strategies for the period until 2030. Initially, negotiations were conducted at the level of prime ministers, then the presidents of the countries returned to the discussion, and in 2013 documents were signed on the beginning of joint actions to organize this project.

Despite the fact that politics and military actions on the territory of Ukraine prevented joint cooperation between the countries, Russia, after unification with Crimea, decided not to postpone the construction of the bridge indefinitely, so already in 2014, President Vladimir Putin gave the corresponding orders. Thus, when the bridge to Crimea is built, several pressing issues will be resolved at once, for example, the safety of Crimeans, the ease of migration of citizens without the difficulties of crossing the Ukrainian border, etc.

Bridge Feature

Do not forget that the project not only has a tight deadline, but also a very complex creation system. The development features of the flora and fauna of that area were taken into account, advanced technologies were used, consultations were held with hundreds of specialists and about 13 thousand workers were hired. The construction of a bridge of such colossal scale was carried out in our country for the first time, so the whole of Russia is looking forward to the construction of the bridge to Crimea.

Of course, along with speed, quality also became a priority. Since the structure will immediately bear the transport load not only in the form of a highway, but also railway tracks. The length of the bridge to Crimea is 18.1 kilometers for a railway track with two lanes and 16.9 kilometers for a road track with four lanes.

The design was created taking into account all negative situations of a natural and man-made nature, therefore it has an increased degree of stability, protection from storms, strong ice drift, and can also withstand seismic vibrations of up to nine points. The country's largest stormwater treatment system was created. That is, when the bridge to Crimea is built, no waste from it was released into the water and will not be released. The structure itself was subject to modern corrosion treatment.

Well forgotten old

It is difficult to imagine that the Kerch Bridge was planned to be built 10 years ago, combining the efforts of the friendly countries of Ukraine and Russia. However, a plan to connect the Crimean peninsula with the southern part of Russia by transport links was proposed by the British. The enterprising government of England thought it was a good idea to build a railway to India just across the Kerch Strait. Then Nicholas II became interested in this project, and even seriously considered it, but the war prevented further plans.

Actually, all this suggests that the Crimean Bridge is a great idea. Interestingly, the length of the bridge to Crimea is longer than the strait itself. Thanks to this, several trading ports will be connected at once. Perhaps the concept of “every cloud has a silver lining” is applicable here, since it is unknown how the fate of the project would have turned out if the president had not decided to make the construction of the bridge the main direction of transport development for the next few years.

When will the bridge across the strait be built?

At the beginning of 2018, we can confidently say that the bridge is ready. The final stages of designing the route and railway remain. The correct alignment of forces, functionality and tasks allowed the contractors not only to meet the stated deadlines, but also to be ahead of schedule. This was first reported at the end of 2017. In a word, the bridge itself is already ready for future loads and is awaiting final preparations before testing and operation. Most systems have been verified through natural exposure and testing. The progress of construction of the bridge to Crimea began to accelerate before the finish line.

News about early delivery

At the beginning of March 2018, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in a few months part of the road bridge to Crimea would be opened. What specific dates the head of state spoke about was not specified. The fact is that the opening of the road to vehicles is already planned for December 2018, but there is a possibility that this will happen even in the summer. However, as the head of the Ministry of Transport, Maxim Sokolov, told the media, it is too early to make forecasts in favor of fixed dates. Unfavorable periods associated with the vagaries of nature must pass. As a rule, they last until the end of March, after which an analysis will be made of when exactly the bridge to Crimea will open.

Russians' opinion

In the same media and social networks, residents of the country have ambivalent attitudes towards such news. Indeed, Russians feel joy and pride as they witness construction on a historic scale. For many, the Kerch Bridge will be a long-awaited event in the development of the country over many years. However, Russian residents are worried about the quality of construction and do not think that it is worth rushing and putting the facility into operation ahead of schedule. We will wait, don’t rush – this is the general mood of the citizens of our country. Indeed, everyone appreciated the incredible work carried out by both the head of state himself and the construction teams, and when the bridge to Crimea will be opened - in winter or summer - is not so important for the majority.

Major Event

However, there are currently actual and specific dates that the whole country is focusing on. They were announced from the very beginning and practically did not change, which, of course, indicates a good calculation. Thus, the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait will be commissioned by the end of 2019. The official date for the opening of road traffic is December 2018 (according to some sources it was moved to May), and the railway tracks will open a year later - in December 2019.

It is expected that local residents will organize a celebration along the entire length of the bridge to Crimea (as far as possible), and the President of the Russian Federation will also take part in the opening. Indeed, this will be one of the most important events in the modern history of Russia; it is pleasant that we have the opportunity to observe such a development of the state. There is no point in counting how much money was spent, but imagine how many nights, efforts, and human labor were spent. The knowledge that the whole country is waiting for this bridge motivates 13 thousand workers to continue working hard. Perhaps, when the bridge to Crimea is finally built, the political situation will change.
