Iberostar playa pilar hotel 5 reviews. Playa Pilar beach in Cuba. Local exotic Cuban cuisine

No matter how you travel to Liberty Island, it's important to know where the best beaches in Cuba are located: Relax in a hammock overlooking Caribbean bliss, plunge into the turquoise waves, or get an adrenaline rush while diving with sharks. Find out where it is better to relax with children or find romance, hang out with nudists or retire from the whole world. The beaches of Cuba attract both sloths a la all inclusive and adventurers who are attuned to nature. For those who are planning to go to Cuba, Jazz Tour has compiled the TOP 5 best beaches on Liberty Island...

Varadero: Longest beach in Cuba
Varadero's picturesque 22-kilometer beach is a dream during the depressing rainy autumn and cold winter. Varadero accepts charter flights, and its hotels operate, most of them on an all-inclusive basis, located practically on the beach. The most top and convenient type of holiday in Cuba for tourists from all over the world. Getting to Varadero is not difficult from Havana if you fly to the capital of Cuba and not by charter to Varadero.

Playa Pilar: The whitest beach in Cuba
The dazzling white beach of Pilar is famous for its “calm water” because the islands in front protect the beach from strong waves. Perhaps Pilar can be called the best and truly heavenly beach on Liberty Island. It’s not for nothing that it was here that the dictator Batista had his most beloved mansion, and it was here that Hemingway lived when he went fishing in the archipelago. Pilar Beach is located on Cayo Guillermo. You can drive to the island by rental car across the causeway at Cayo Coco.

Playa Santa Lucia: Cuba's most family-friendly beach
Children swim here in complete safety, with a comfortable and gently sloping sandy bottom, in the stunning turquoise waters of Playa Santa Lucia. Here, extreme sports enthusiasts can book an adrenaline trip at the local Divecenter and chat one-on-one with sharks in deep water. Playa Santa Lucia is located 110 km northeast of Camagüey. There are no regular buses here, so the best option would be to rent a car or, as a last resort, take a taxi to Camagüey.

Playa Ancon: The most romantic beach in Cuba
A kilometer of snow-white beach framed by cozy palm trees, Playa Ancón combines perfectly with the attractions of the beautiful city of Trinidad. And if you are looking for more secluded beaches and underwater paradise, then you should take a catamaran from the mangrove bay near the Ancón Hotel to the uninhabited islands of Cayo Blanco de Casilda and Cayo Macho de Afuera. Getting from Trinidad to Playa Ancón, which is located 6 kilometers from Trinidad, is quite easy. If you don't have a rental car, you can get to the beach by taking the Cubatur bus, which departs from Trinidad every hour.

Cayo Largo del Sur: Simply the best beaches in Cuba
There are nudists on the beaches of Cayo Largo del Sur, although these beaches are also very good for families. Nudists have their own place - Playa Paraíso, while a family holiday is good at Playa Los Cocos beach... a beautiful beach overgrown with palm trees, where children can splash in the crystal clear water. From May to October you can see sea turtles nesting on Playa Tortuga. You can get to Cayo Largo del Sur by air from Havana or Varadero.

This is a kind of owl reserve, but in a heavenly place)). If you're expecting a personal butler and gourmet haute cuisine, you probably won't find them here. But excellent beaches, varied and tasty food, azure water and warm sun, then it’s definitely worth coming and enjoying the unique nature and Cuban cheerfulness, it’s definitely worth it. The hotel is located in a very quiet location on one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba and almost inside the Guillermo National Park. The famous Pilar beach with sand like flour is a 10-minute walk away. The entrance to the water near the hotel is excellent, the ocean is not very deep, but the water is just a fairy tale. There are always enough sun loungers, anywhere. Schools of fish swim in the ocean and starfish lie on the sand near the shore. The territory is not very large, and not very green, but a park already begins a couple of meters from the hotel, and the territory itself is not very important. The place here is incredibly beautiful. And also the fact that the hotel beach is located in a bay, and you can swim even in strong winds and you won’t feel it. The hotel also has entertainment in the form of tennis, billiards, a good spa, and you can even ride horses, but the last two are for an additional fee. But the trip itself didn’t cost us much. What can I say about nutrition? There are two main restaurants, one of which is on the beach, and there is also another bar. There are four A La Carte restaurants, each of which can be visited once for free. Just a huge selection of seafood every day, and they always served lobster. There are several types of fish, not to mention ordinary and unusual meat, namely, a pig was roasted on a spit, and it was very spectacular and incredibly tasty! Huge selection of various side dishes, pasta, vegetables and fruits. But only those fruits that were in season were tasty. Of the A-La Cartes, we liked Italian the most, but here everyone likes what. The drinks are all of very good quality, there are several bars and almost every one has something to kill the worm)). The animation is fun, especially the dance lessons. There is a children's pool, a small children's water park, but since we don't have children yet, I won't tell you much about more. The rooms were nothing special, but cleaning, a minibar, shower amenities and fresh towels were provided every day and everything was of good quality. Holidays are just a fairy tale, and Cuba is a miracle!

The countdown to “departure” has begun. During this time, you need to swim as much as possible, sunbathe and enjoy your vacation, which is what we did, thank God the weather contributed to this.

In the evening, after dinner, the evening (night life) began. As I said, I give the animation in the hotel 5+. they didn't rest for a minute. After dinner there were various shows around the pool.
another group sang and entertained in our favorite bar near the reception...
And the main show began at half past nine, on the main stage. There were theme nights every day. very diverse and interesting. We liked it so much that we went every evening (except the first)
Here are photos of several evenings.
This is the theme "Meeting of the Peoples of Latin America" (something like that...

Romantic evening...

There were also "History of Cuba"..." "Caribbean Nights"....

At the end of the show there is a disco.
the people there were having a blast. We are not big fans, so we went to the bar and got high in our own way. We drank champagne and just listened to music. Some vacationers brought a guitar with them, a small group gathered and sang, it was also fun.
Playa Pilar
Our island had one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba. We considered it unacceptable to miss the opportunity to visit there, so one morning we went to the reception and found out that the bus to this beach goes at about 9 am.. Exactly around. That's how I found out. In short, we were late for the bus, of course, but we couldn’t change our plans. We called a taxi and got to the beach comfortably in 10 minutes and 5 cookies.
The taxi driver tried for a long time to persuade us to wait as long as necessary. The beach was somewhere behind a hill, we didn’t see it, so I decided to go and see if there was any point in staying here at all. Climbing the hill, an amazing picture opened up to my eyes, then I noticed a restaurant on the shore, so I returned and let the driver go. Obviously I'll stay here longer.
What can I say about Pilar...but you can’t say anything, you have to see it.

I've been to a lot of places and am always looking for the perfect beach. This beach is my first choice today. I have never seen anything more beautiful. The water was some unrealistically blue color and plus it sparkled like crystal. The sand is snow-white, like powdered sugar. When you swim and look down, you feel like you are in a pool with a blue bottom, the sand under the water is blue... Some kind of mysticism.

Under the slide there are places to relax with sun loungers and a canopy. Opposite the beach is the island where Batista's house used to be. He knew where to build... the lip is not a fool.

The day was very hot, it was even hot to swim, but I really didn’t want to get out of the water.

Then a cart appeared with a man making a mojito. What else does?
Mojito, by the way, was also the most delicious of the whole trip.
By two o'clock we were completely stunned by the sunshine, it was decided not to stay here for lunch, but still return to the hotel, especially since people also began to gather. It turns out that this was just the time when the bus arrived to deliver to the hotels. It's not even a bus, it's a train. We boarded the train and headed towards the hotels. Cool, but not as comfortable as in a taxi, and longer and for the same 5 cookies.
This is how our 5 days flew by on K. Guillermo, and so did our rest.
On our last evening we booked a restaurant.
The restaurant, to be honest, is gorgeous... Everything was prepared at the highest level, the service... well, just like in the most expensive Kyiv restaurants. Everything is great. And what a sunset!
It's hard to imagine a better place for a farewell party.
It was an amazing evening. We remembered the trip, planned a new one...
The music was impressive, classics and hits from the 80s. Some are so forgotten that you had to take a camera and just “shoot” - record music.
The next day we went out to say goodbye to the sea.
The last ritual, toss the coins...we went out onto the bridge, probably it’s here specifically for this. And then I saw a lot of fish below, it turns out there’s a snorkel here!!! But it’s too late for Sonya to drink Borjomi, when the plane is in 3 hours...
The suitcases are already packed.
Then the road to the island of Cayo Coco where the airport is located. (In the construction of which, by the way, Diego participated)
The airport is small, but very decent. There was still a flight, the plane was throwing around, and we also got the last seats.
everything that was possible to remove...

Diego met us at the airport, not just himself, but with his wife. It was a very pleasant acquaintance. There was still time before departure and we stopped at a restaurant near the airport.
Then check-in for the flight. Seeing the crowd standing there, I was simply shocked. We arrived 3 hours before, and registration was already in full swing. Naturally, we were the very last in line. Looming ahead was the prospect of ending up in different places and, of course, in the end...
Then Natalia, Diego’s wife, came to the rescue. I found some acquaintances and they took us through business registration, without a queue and with good seats at the beginning.
Sad moments of parting. Going to passport control, I once again turned to look at the familiar faces of Diego and Natalia (after all, Diego talked so much about her during the trip).
Of course I started crying again. This is probably becoming a good tradition, crying when leaving Cuba. But these were different tears. I knew that I would definitely return here.

"Little Cayejon Hamel is an alley whose walls are painted by a man who is idolized by his fans in Havana. They call him Salvador, but I still don’t understand whether “Salvador” is his first or last name. I don’t undertake to describe his black modernism, but he himself, if he is a black man, but no more than 20 percent. Along and across the paintings he wrote his aphorisms and poems, and a small orchestra plays his music in the African style. From the aphorisms of El Salvador:
"Heaven and earth are in love with each other."

Playa Pilar- located on the very outskirts of the island of Cayo Guillermo - this is truly one of the most beautiful beaches in Cuba, named after Hemingway's boat Pilar - since the writer loved to fish and stayed on this island - even before it became a tourist mecca. Previously, these islands had access only to fishermen with a special license from the state. And now, thanks to the embankment dam leading from the “mainland”, anyone with a car can get here. Pilar Beach does not belong to any hotel, so access to it is free. And the beach welcomes all guests with the whitest fine sand, the clearest azure sea with fish and starfish underfoot. And where the beach ends and the rocks begin, all snorkeling enthusiasts will find the interesting underwater world of the Atlantic Ocean.
