Business class passenger service standard:

This is my first review of any airline. Nordwind is disgusting in everything!!! But let's take things in order. I have already visited more than sixty countries of the world, many of which not once or twice, and I had to fly on everything - from a hang glider to an Airbus A380, from low-cost airlines to the First Class cabins of the world's best companies. I have something to compare with. But I have never encountered such complex bestiality towards business class passengers (and passengers in general)... This is my first and last experience with this airline Nordwind LLC “North Wind”, which is a subsidiary airline of the tour operator “Pegas Touristik”. I don’t pay hundreds of thousands of rubles for tickets just to endure the rudeness of their staff and the appalling technical condition of their planes.

Repeated flight postponements, board replacements, and departure delays

Our whole family was planning to fly to Zanzibar. Me, my wife, our relative and our four children. This carrier was chosen for two reasons: 1). - this is the only direct flight to Zanzibar, and we did not want to fly with children with transfers. 2). - I’ve never flown these fucking Nordwinds before. I won't make that mistake again.

We originally bought 7 business class tickets. This was still three months before the upcoming trip. About a month ago, our travel consultant informed us that the flight had been postponed a day earlier! Oh... I had to buy one more night (three rooms since there are seven of us, and one night costs about another $3,000). But these are minor things. After some time, we are informed that in addition to postponing the departure day, Nord Wind is also changing the board, and this has resulted in a reduction in the “business” cabin and one of our family does not have enough tickets! One of us had to fly sitting all night... Like the icing on the cake - when we boarded the plane, it turned out that a few hours before departure the plane had been changed again!!! The floor of the cabin was empty, because the liner was now larger. An attempt to purchase another chair “on the spot” was unsuccessful.

The return flight Zanzibar-Moscow was delayed twice and we took off after midnight, although we were supposed to fly at 21.00. Norwind in Zanzibar does not have an agreement to use the local business lounge and had to buy an additional pass for $200 so that the children could wait for boarding in at least somewhat humane conditions.

Nord Wind paid check-in for flight

In principle, if everything that will be described below had not happened to me and my family, I would not have remembered about this paid on-line registration and choosing a place at Nord Wind, but since all the lines fell into place, then this redneck idiocy also needs to be brought to light.

I would like to immediately draw your attention to the fact that the fee is not charged for choosing a more comfortable seat, but simply for the very opportunity to carry out online registration!!! Either pay (in our case, such registration per day cost something like 7,000 rubles per person! 49,000 for everyone), or come to the airport early and waste your time and the time of the airline employees on the spot!

All normal air carriers do check-in in advance and for free precisely to make the flight easier for passengers and themselves to speed up all processes, but here, because of the redneck desire to make money and sell 7 tickets for the price of 8, everything becomes very complicated and results in a mockery of passengers!! !

Unable to reach the hotline

When my wife tried to register 24 hours in advance as usual, she discovered this strange paid “service”! Of course we had questions. What happens if you don’t register online, how places are allocated and many more. Attempts to get through for two hours were a complete failure. Couldn't get through at all. Nobody answered. I had to clarify all the questions with our consultant...

Rude employees and idiotic rules regarding hand luggage

Let's move on to the bestiality itself, which prompted me to write this review. I'll copy my post to FB. I must immediately apologize for my somewhat overly harsh tone, but I described this on FB immediately after the incident and was simply furious!

A family was traveling and of course we could confirm this!!! In general, it is formulated rather clumsily and stupidly, but logically everything is clear. We could combine/distribute the weight of my equipment among everyone, and this, of course, would not even come close to exceeding the norms established by the tariff!

Just in case, I’ll note that my suitcase had the following dimensions: 25/30/40=95 cm.

In general, I believe that the airline employees deliberately bullied and tried to humiliate me. Official accounts do not respond to all complaints.

The appalling technical condition of the aircraft

After an hour and a half drive to the airport and five and a half hours of waiting for the flight (let me remind you that it was postponed twice), the children, of course, were already tired and wanted to sleep. Once on the plane, I was a little tense... Everything was shabby and tattered. The chairs looked terrible. But these are flowers.

Immediately, as soon as we took off and were allowed to recline the seats, it turned out that almost HALF of the seats in business class were BROKEN and did not recline!!! Of our 6 places, 2 did not work!

The flight attendants were called. I’m showing my son and daughter a chair that doesn’t recline. At first she started to “drive” at me, saying that everything is fine with you, why did you jump up?! These are my children, I say. She promised to call a technician. A technician arrives (and by this time it has already become clear that half of the seats in the cabin are not working), shines a flashlight for order, and presses the buttons. Something broke inside, he says! I can't fix it... Brilliant!!!

I asked the flight attendants what do you suggest they do?

They began to literally literally jump on the backs of their chairs in order to somehow spread them out. Some succeeded, many did not!!! Fly all night 9 hours!!! People paid hundreds of thousands for comfort!!!

Here's my video about it.

It’s hard to hear, but the flight attendant confirms to me on camera that she agrees that the cabin floor is faulty!

By the way, she later came up to me and threatened (!) that if I published this video, she would sue me! I just didn’t take into account that I am a lawyer myself and a co-founder of several law firms...

I went online and saw that the condition of the sides and non-functioning seats were such, this is a common thing for Nordwind...

There’s probably something else I forgot to mention, but it seems to me that this is enough to NEVER deal with them again!
Personally, I'm done with them.
