Whose company is Paul shark? Italian brand "Paul & Shark": history, description. Conquering the world of yachting

This is almost a century-old history of three generations of Paul&Shark (Paul and Shark). It all started in January 1921, when Giuseppe Daco founded a garment factory on the outskirts of Milan and began making sweaters, blouses, gloves, socks, sleeveless jackets and bath suits.

Deliveries of branded products were carried out to various parts of the world: Palestine, North America, Morocco, Egypt. The company developed successfully until the Second World War began.

At the end of the war, Daco handed over the business to his son Giovanni, but despite numerous attempts, he was never able to restore the company's pre-war image. This was the impetus for the sale of production to the chemist Jean Louis Dini, who, although he did not have much knowledge of the textile business, was able to revive the factory thanks to his connections by 1957.

History of the name

The name of the company has changed throughout its existence.

Initially, the company was called Dini&Shark, but after some time the surname was replaced by the name of one of Dini’s sons, Paolo, who devoted himself entirely to working at his father’s factory. Over time, he even equipped himself with a living room right at the production site, just to spend more time there.

Paul&Shark's signature color is deep dark blue.

The success of the original packaging

Continuing the marine theme, Paul&Shark came up with original gift packaging for their products - elongated cans with the image of a shark. Similar metal tubes were used at that time to transport expensive alcohol. The unusual packaging immediately attracted the attention of many buyers.

Conquering the world of yachting

In 1977, the new brand was already registered in Italy and 150 other countries around the world. Around the same time, the company began sponsoring an international sailing regatta: now yachts flying the Paul&Shark flag could be found almost everywhere.

In the 80s, the legendary Paul&Shark sweater for yachting appeared. The success of this product was the first step towards creating a complete collection of wool knitwear with water-repellent properties, ideal as clothing for the sea and for the open air.

Movement, dynamics, action, strength and speed are the main qualities inherent in true masculine nature. The authors of the watch brand Shark are well aware of this, having created the first collection of accessories for men in a distinctive sporty style in 1997 in Los Angeles. The idea to create a watch specifically for active, temperamental and purposeful young men was embodied in the charismatic design of the watch, decorated with a corporate logo in the shape of a red shield.

Why Shark?

Translated from English, Shark means “shark”. This famous sea predator is on the move all its life, just like those for whom the Shark branded watches are intended. The main target audience of the brand is young, active men who love sports and never stay in one place. The watch design and brand concept also does not stop and is constantly in motion, finding new and interesting solutions. A significant feature of the design of Shark watches is the use of red color, which looks very impressive and bright, reflecting the temperament and hot temperament of true connoisseurs of the style of these wrist accessories.

Since 2010, the design and concept of Shark wristwatches have undergone serious development, resulting in several separate collections of wristwatches. All brand products are distinguished not only by their bright and dynamic design, but also by their impeccable reliability. From the high-precision quartz movement in each model to the durable mineral glass that protects the steel case, each watch is of high quality down to the last detail. During the production process, all components of the products undergo careful control and many tests to ensure impeccable quality and reliability of branded watches.

Today we have access to watches in four main collections: “SHARK fashion” (fashion), “Racing SHARK” (race), “Duo SHARK” (double), as well as a limited line of watches “Limited Edition”. Any young man looking for a reflection of his hot character and an insatiable thirst for movement will find a suitable model to match his personality.

In the winter of 1921, Italian tailor Giovanni Daco opened the Maglificio Daco factory in the outskirts of Milan to sew men's clothing for everyday use. The assortment consisted of socks, gloves, sweaters, and bathrobes, but thanks to high-quality materials and professional execution, business quickly improved.

But, like many enterprises around the world, during the Second World War the factory was on the verge of ruin, and the owner made the difficult decision to sell. The buyer was Jean Ludovico Dini, a chemist by training who had no idea what to do with production. As he admits later, he simply invested money and could not even imagine what would come of it. However, the entrepreneur took a responsible approach to studying all the intricacies of the textile industry, and already in 1957 the enterprise emerged from the crisis.

Soon, having become interested in business, his son Paolo joined his father, who turned out to be a talented designer and a good manager. It is worth noting that everything was created at the factory: from threads to packaging. Thus, the company was able to avoid attracting third-party companies. Thanks to the new owner, it was possible to establish cooperation with Christian Dior, which played an important role in the development of the brand.

The story behind the creation of the brand name is interesting: while sailing on the sea, the owner noticed a yacht with “Paul&Shark” on it, which translated means “Paulo and the Shark.” The man really liked this combination, but he did not dare to use it entirely, but called it Dini&Shark in a similar way. In 1977, the company was officially registered in Italy under a name that is still relevant today: Paul&Shark. Thus, he immortalized the combination he liked, mentioning the name of his son, who made a great contribution to the development of the family business. The owner's youngest son did not take any part in the development of the business, although his father tried to involve him.

In 1977, Paul&Shark was chosen as the official sponsor of international sailing competitions. The entire focus of the collections began to boil down to the creation of clothing exclusively for yachting. This period also marks the peak of the brand’s popularity. But it's not just about prestige and fashion. First of all, the brand gained popularity by using only high-quality, high-tech materials, created specifically for extreme conditions, to sew its clothes. The company's calling card is its jacket models made of waterproof, UV-resistant fabric.

The company is constantly improving the manufacturing technology of its clothing models; there is a special department that is researching the latest methods for producing materials that are resistant to various types of influences. In addition, professional yachtsmen are involved in the experiments, testing the clothing in real conditions. The company also has patents for the production of unique materials, for example, waterproof wool.

The company's designers are very meticulous about the design of the sales areas where the products are presented. Their interior resembles a cabin, decorated in blue, white and red tones. A mandatory attribute is the steering wheel, and all the trim is made of wood.

Paolo Dini's wife, Marcia, came up with an extraordinary packaging: a metal tube with the image of a shark. This item is used in sailing as a universal storage container, which is quite symbolic. The client received any purchase, even the smallest one, in such a gift box. This was an excellent marketing ploy to attract potential buyers.

Like many branded brands, the company pays great attention to environmental issues. Paul&Shark production is absolutely environmentally friendly, and solar panels are installed in the office to convert solar energy. Visitors who visited the stores for the first time and regular customers admire the design of the premises, how calm, beautiful and stylish everything is.

The price category of the brand is higher than that of many other popular companies, but this does not prevent the company from only gaining momentum, thereby expanding the ranks of fans of its products. Absolutely all of the company’s clients note the unsurpassed, high quality of clothing and level of service in the brand’s stores. Indeed, the optimal price-quality ratio allows the company to occupy a leading position on the world stage, leaving its competitors far behind.

Paul&Shark is clothing for lovers of outdoor activities and sports who value high quality and unrivaled style. The incredible durability of the materials is combined with chic and stylish details. A variety of sports and casual models for men, women and teenagers will not leave anyone indifferent. For a long time, there was a joke in the fashion community that Paul&Shark models have only one drawback - things don’t wear out at all.

Speaking about the design concept, it should be noted that the Paul&Shark brand has always been distinguished by an unconventional approach and a variety of color combinations. The main range consists of classic marine tones: white, blue, red, diluted with unusual combinations and bright shades. A special place is occupied by the collection of T-shirts, designed in colors based on famous works of art. An interesting point: the company employs an expert who selects color combinations for various musical works.

The main direction of the Paul&Shark brand is the design and creation of clothing in a marine style for yachting enthusiasts. For a long time, the company created clothes exclusively for men. To expand the market and increase consumer demand, it was decided to produce clothing for women and teenagers under the Paul&Shark brand. For women, Paul&Shark offers elegant sports and leisure clothing made from high-quality materials. A collection of golf clothing is being created that is emphatically elegant and aesthetically pleasing. For children, comfort becomes the main concept.

Currently, the Paul&Shark company has grown to incredible proportions, and has become simply a style icon for admirers of luxury sportswear and simply lovers of casual style. The clothing brand is valued all over the world primarily for its advanced technologies and high quality and characteristics of materials.

Today, the brand's boutiques are open in 75 countries around the world, in many large cities, in addition, over 300 single-brand boutiques are open in the most iconic places on our planet. The company is managed by Andrea Dini, a representative of the third generation of the family. Absolutely all stages of production: from design development to assembly are carried out in Italy.

Summing up, it is impossible not to note the fact that the company owes such popularity in the past and now entirely to its competent management. Initially, from the first days of its foundation, the focus of the then factory was on the quality of the material and workmanship, and the absence of the involvement of outside forces. Subsequently, going through economically difficult years for the country, the management decided to produce high-quality men's clothing, which was undoubtedly in demand among all segments of the population.

Later, when the company got into a rut and the opportunity for development presented itself, taking advantage of the moment to collaborate with Dior, the brand was able to reach the level of Fashion Houses. Despite the change in direction, the company now made clothing for yachting athletes.

The main goal of the company has remained unchanged: clothing must be of high quality. Involving efforts to study the properties of fabric and search for new materials allowed the company to open a special research department, in which daily work is carried out to improve the quality of products. A special place is given to the design of the trading floors: marine colors, a steering wheel as an invariable attribute, wooden interiors and a tube as packaging for products.

Despite the fact that products are entirely manufactured directly in Italy, boutiques are distributed throughout the world; in many capitals and large cities anyone can find their favorite brand. But the Paul&Shark brand did not have problems with fans in the past, nor does it exist now.

These are clothes for true connoisseurs of luxury holidays, fans of extreme sports and just people who know a lot about quality things. The brand's collections include clothing and a line of accessories for men, women and teenagers. The basis of the collection: elegant style, high quality and unsurpassed comfort.

Paul & Shark (“Paul & Shark”) is a well-known brand of Italian middle-up class sportswear with a logo recognizable throughout the planet - a shark. For most women and men, this brand is synonymous with casual elegance, freedom and comfort.

Story

The history of this brand began almost 100 years ago (1921). Then Giuseppe Daco (Italian) opened his small textile factory near Milan. At that time it was called Maglificio Daco. The factory produced blouses, sweaters, sleeveless jackets, gloves, and bath suits.

It is worth noting that Giuseppe Daco’s business has grown very quickly. It flourished until the outbreak of World War II, all products were supplied to various countries: Palestine, Egypt, North America, Morocco, etc. At the same time, a crisis arose for the enterprise with the beginning of the war, after which production began to decline.

Renaissance

Things were so bad that there was a real threat of absolute bankruptcy of the company. A certain Jean Ludovico Dini helped revive the production. The company started working again in 1957, and received the name Dini & Shark.

By profession, Jean Ludovico was a chemist. He had very little knowledge in the textile business, but at the same time had excellent business connections, which helped him in the development of this brand. At the same moment, a recognizable and unique logo for the Paul & Shark brand began to take shape (the brand’s clothing today, by the way, is no less popular than before the start of the war) with the image of a shark.

Name

Interestingly, the origin of the brand name is very unusual. Dini discovered the sign "Paul & Shark" during his. Funny thing is that it was just a sign on the sail of an old eighteenth-century schooner, but it could predetermine the fate of this brand. It so happened that Paul is the name of the son of Jean Ludovico Dini, who was obsessed with the idea of creating this brand even more than his father. Paul even specially equipped a living room for himself, located on the territory of the factory, so that he could spend as much of his time as possible at work.

The Paul & Shark brand was officially registered in Italy in 1977. At the same moment, a rather original method of self-identification was chosen - these were special packaging boxes, which were metal tubes, which were then used exclusively for transporting alcohol. In addition, the marine theme was directly traced through the dark blue color of all items from the brand’s collections.

Accents

This company places its main emphasis on the production of waterproof, high-quality windbreakers. In addition, it is not difficult to find Paul & Shark suits for sailing, leisure, hiking or diving. In a sweater, shirt, tracksuit or jeans, you won't be afraid of weather surprises. In addition, shoe collections and all kinds of accessories are produced. Men's and women's clothing was recently supplemented with a collection for children under 14 years old, and this significantly expanded the target audience of this brand.

In addition, it is offered by many of the largest sites selling various fashion items.

Design

The designers of the Paul & Shark company create their amazing collections specifically for people who are not used to distinguishing between style and comfort. Expanding the range of sportswear allowed the brand to gain recognition throughout the world. Today, Paul & Shark produces sportswear, as well as interesting collections in casual style - practical and excellent clothing for active recreation and everyday wear.

Production

Pol & Shark employees pay close attention to the high quality of materials used and environmentally friendly production. To achieve this, serious experiments are usually carried out: the water-repellent new Typhoon fabric was tested at a depth of 20 meters! Consequently, clothing from this brand allows you to feel independent and comfortable in any weather.

Sea style

It is worth noting that in the company’s clothing, nautical style and quality are inseparable. All brand jackets are made using the latest technologies from various UV-blocking and air-permeable materials. The company's designers pay special attention to the quality of fabrics. This is probably the only disadvantage of clothing from this brand, since it does not wear out at all.

The brand pushes the usual boundaries of nautical shades (red, white and blue) and uses incredible combinations of different colors. You will be interested that some T-shirts duplicate the color schemes of paintings by famous artists!
