Drawings and sizes of winter spinners. Ready-made and homemade winter lures: how to lure perch in winter. For fishing in muddy water

This type of bait is quite widespread among fishermen. Named after its inventor, Matveychikov’s spoon is used in the winter for catching perch at shallow and medium depths with slow or no current. With today's prices for fishing accessories, fishing enthusiasts are increasingly resorting to making their own.

Originally created for sport fishing by the famous fisherman, author of many articles in the magazine “Fishing in Rus'” Vladimir Matveychikov, the spoon became widespread. Compared to other lures, it is inexpensive in the store, but many fishermen prefer to make the bait themselves. Matveychikov's spinner is designed for winter fishing for perch. The different colors of the edges and the concavity of the spoon increase the predator’s interest in it.

And this happens due to the angle of refraction in water. The wave-like structure allows it to balance in the water to the very bottom. A tee hook is used. In order to make a Matveychikov spinner with your own hands, you need to take a sheet of copper or nickel silver 0.5 mm thick. Other material is also allowed, but it should not be too hard, since it cannot be bent at home and it will not create sufficient reflection in the water. The prepared copper sheet must be divided into blanks.

The blanks should be close in size to the bait being made, about 20 mm by 30–55 mm.

It is also necessary to acquire several hooks; it is better to use a “figure eight”. You can take different sizes to make several bait options. To work, you will also need rosin, a soldering iron, soldering acid, solder; the best measuring tools to take are a metal ruler and a caliper.

To process metal, you need to prepare a vice, an anvil, metal shears, a set of hammers and a mallet. For melting and soldering, you will need a soldering iron, a good torch and two containers: one for hot metal, the other for cooling.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. The bait size should be 35 or 55 mm. It is not advisable to do more or less, since there will be no vertical play. For a winter spinner, the workpiece will be 40 mm by 10 mm.
  2. Make a drawing of the required product. If you have a sample, you can take dimensions from it using a ruler.
  3. The dimensions are transferred to a copper sheet 0.5 mm thick, and a blank 40 mm by 10 mm is cut out. Then a straight line is drawn on the workpiece with a pencil, then with a sharp object.
  4. On each side of the wide edge you need to measure 13 mm and draw the same lines, then two notches are made on the opposite bar of the cross. All excess is cut off.
  5. Now you need to bend the sheet along the first drawn line and, having reached an angle of 90 degrees, draw a line through the notch that was made earlier, draw along two more notches. Using metal scissors, cut two long corners from the crossbar of the cross downwards and two short corners from the crossbar of the cross upwards.
  6. The bottom corners and the corners along the edge of the crossbar are filed with a file to give them a smooth finish.
  7. Next, you need to bend the workpiece outward, giving it a crescent shape.
  8. Then the eye of the hook is cut off and soldered to the workpiece on the thick side. The area should be well filled with adhesive material, for example, tin.
  9. Now we need another loop for the tackle. To do this, you can take a wire or eye from a needle, cutting it to 10 - 15 mm. The eyelet is soldered on the narrow side of the spinner.
  10. At the final stage, the product is polished to a shine, and Matveychikov’s spoon is ready.

This drawing Matveychikov's spinners:

The main advantage of any spinner when fishing in winter is the ability to catch larger fish from the depths. When the perch is at depth, it sees the spoon well, it is not carried away by the current, it is always in a calm state, which attracts the perch. For example, small perch will be caught with a spinner up to 50 mm long, and to catch large specimens you need a spinner up to 100 mm long. Even the patterns on the bait matter: red spot, fins, eye. The fish perceives the bait as a live fish.

It is worth noting that each angler has his own preferences in choosing a lure for perch. But experienced anglers believe that it is necessary to pause while lowering the spoon into the hole, and when pulling out the fish, you should not loosen the line, otherwise it will break. And one more thing: when fishing with a spoon, you don’t need to make sudden movements so as not to scare away the fish that has bitten. You can catch perch from the depths by easily moving the bait or raising and lowering it by 30 cm. You need to have about ten spinners, no less, fishing with one will not give a good catch.

Matveychikov’s bait differs from others in its shape: it is made with a corner and has three sides - this is its secret. It is small and light. Rotating and flickering, the winter lure reproduces the behavior of a tiny fish, thereby attracting not only perch, but also pike perch and pike.

It is great for catching both small and large perch at a depth of up to five meters. Practice shows that frequent and small vibrations of the bait create the opportunity to catch perch both in winter and in summer.

Perch is a schooling fish and is found in most reservoirs in our country. In order for fishing to be successful, you should study the bottom topography, prepare the necessary gear and select the most catchy lures. There are a huge number of different spinners for catching perch in winter, they differ:

  1. by color,
  2. form,
  3. by the nature of the game.

There are store-bought and homemade baits. Unfortunately, do-it-yourself drawings of spinners are very difficult to find even on fishing forums, and if there is information, it is often contradictory. Experienced fishermen try to make bait for winter perch themselves, making them according to a known template or inventing their own. The most popular of the latter are “maropedka”, “torpedka”, “Mercedes”, “Petersburg sleeper”, “sword”, “coffin”, “sword”, “houndstooth”, “trump card”, “trihedron”, “sickle” , “malek”, “bell”, “Rozhkovskaya”. Each of the models is original, has a unique game and perfectly catches perch.

"Maropaedka" is a combination of elements of the Matveychikov spinner, the diamond spinner and the torpedo spinner, the author of which is Alexander Vorobyov. She is very catchy for perch. Its use for a long time was a big secret among sports fishermen, but gradually inquisitive fishermen, through experiments, came up with its current form.

"Petersburg sleeper"- classic bait, with active play. When fishing, it allows both active high strokes of the fisherman and short sharp ones. There are several types of sleepers, here are some of them:

  1. Double for winter perch fishing. It is made by soldering two metal plates. Length 55 mm, width 4.5 mm, thickness 3 mm, weight 5 grams.
  2. Single with tee for winter fishing. It is made from a strip of metal 25 mm long, 4.5 mm wide, 3 mm thick, weighing 1.2 grams.
  3. Single, long with a tee for winter. Made from a single strip of metal. Fishermen select the bend directly from the pond. Length 85 mm, width 4.5 mm, thickness 1.3 mm.

"Torpedo"

Length 45 mm, weight 2.5 grams, two crowns. Material used: bronze, brass, copper, cupronickel. Sports spoon for winter perch fishing at a depth of 2 to 5 meters. Requires preliminary running-in in a bath or pool. Fishing tactics: smooth and high strokes 10 times, bites on 4-6 strokes. Then you need to make short, smooth jerks, raising the bait by 20–40 cm. If there is no bite, then there are no fish there.

"Mercedes" from the category of randomly falling spinners. Its author is Anatoly Kirillovich Kovalev, nicknamed “Kirilych” among fishermen. When free falling, the bait moves from side to side, left and right, but at the same time it sways smoothly and briskly.

Fishermen love it very much precisely for this game, and it is one of the most catchy vertical spinners for pike perch and pike in calm water at a depth of 13 m. Sometimes bream bites, but perch is quite rare.

With the arrival of winter, many fishermen do not abandon this interesting activity. They put summer gear aside and arm themselves with winter fishing rods, since they differ significantly from each other. Winter fishing is also characterized by the fact that completely different baits are used here, including artificial ones. Fishing in winter involves the use of winter spinners, which are quite catchy. Moreover, you can either buy them in a store or market, or make them yourself. For most fishermen, this process is no less interesting than the process of fishing itself. Therefore, they carefully prepare for the winter season, making their own various elements of winter equipment, including spinners.

The use of spinners for catching perch, compared to traditional baits such as bloodworms or worms, allows you to catch larger perches, reaching them at great depths. As a rule, large perch always stay in deep water areas, compared to smaller individuals that prefer to feed closer to the shore.

Since the spoon has some weight, it quickly sinks to depth and resists the current, which can lure large perch. In addition, the spinner is noticeable from a great distance, as it can be up to 10 cm in size.

Main characteristics of a spinner for perch

The main task of the spinner is to lure a predator from a considerable distance. If its game does not seduce the perch, then we can assume that the spinner was unsuccessful and its place is in the garage, and not on fishing. For the spinner to work, it must be given the desired shape, weight and size. The larger the spoon, the larger the specimen can be caught. But this does not mean at all that there are no limits to the size of the spinner. As a rule, small perch are caught with spoons up to 50 mm in size, and larger specimens are caught with bait up to 100 mm in size.

When choosing a lure for perch, you should not forget about small details that additionally lure the predator. These can be images of fish eyes, imitation of blood stains, drawings of scales or fins.

When going fishing, you should not forget about groundbait and bait. Moreover, the size of the spoon may also depend on the nature of the chosen bait. When using large bait, the number of hooks increases.

Catchy winter lures for perch: description and drawings

Making spinners for winter fishing does not require a lot of money and time. Some craftsmen make such baits within one hour, and the tools for this can be found in any fisherman’s barn or garage.

It is possible to find such raw material for making bait at home or in the trash. A can for canned food is made of thin metal, therefore, a spinner made from this material is more suitable for catching perch in stagnant bodies of water where there is no current.

During manufacture, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • Tin.
  • Metal scissors.
  • Awl.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Number 7 hook or tee.
  • Two winding rings.

Manufacturing technology:

  • Preparatory work boils down to preparing a metal plate. To do this, take metal scissors and cut an even sheet of thin metal from a tin can.
  • After this, everything unnecessary is removed from the plate: paint, paper, etc.
  • The shape of the future bait is drawn on a sheet of metal, about 5-7 cm in size.
  • Using metal scissors, according to the drawing, the shape of the future spinner is cut out.
  • Use sandpaper to remove all burrs.
  • Using an awl, two holes are made for the winding rings.
  • The next stage is polishing the spoon.
  • At the next stage, the petal is given the desired shape. To do this, you can use a regular spoon. To bend the spoon, you need to take a soft object and press on the petal until it takes the appropriate shape.
  • After this, winding rings and hooks are attached to the spoon.
  • Finally, appropriate designs are made on the body of the spinner using nail polish.
  • After the varnish has dried, the spoon can be used. Naturally, it is unlikely that you will be able to catch a heavy perch using such a spoon, but it is quite possible to secure intense bites from small perches.

Small spoon made from tweezers

A lure such as a jig is made from a monolithic piece of metal such as silver, copper or brass. If the spinner is not large in size, then the body of the spinner can be made from ordinary tweezers.

For manufacturing you will need the following materials and tools:

  • Tweezers.
  • File.
  • Electric drill.
  • The drill is not large in diameter.
  • Sandpaper.
  • A pair of winding rings.
  • Single hooks or tees.

Sequence of manufacturing operations:

  • The outline of the future bait is drawn on the tweezers.
  • The body of the jig is cut along the contour using a hacksaw.
  • It is advisable to file sharp edges.
  • At both ends of the artificial bait you need to drill holes for the winding rings.
  • After this, the almost finished spoon is polished.
  • Finally, winding rings and hooks are attached to the body of the bait.

A bait such as a jig can be made without much effort from the handle of an ordinary spoon. The manufacturing technique is the same as in the previous case; it is enough to cut the workpiece of the required length from the handle. The main task is to polish the workpiece properly so that it is visible in the water from afar. In addition, any painted elements, such as eyes or fins, will not interfere with the body of the bait, which will be an additional attractive factor.

The Acme company produces so-called “three-edges”, which are considered good spoons for winter fishing. At the same time, it can be easily repeated with a minimum of effort.

To make the body of such a bait, it is enough to take a piece of aluminum cable, up to 1 cm wide and up to 6 cm long.

Technological stages of production:

  • The body of the bait is cut so that it is shaped like a trapezoid.
  • Thin holes are drilled at both ends of the bait's body.
  • Winding rings and hooks are put into these holes.
  • Such a bait weighs 5-7 grams and is capable of catching large perch in deep areas of the reservoir.

"Kastmater" is produced by the "Acme" company and is considered a fairly catchy lure. But you don’t have to buy it, as you can easily make it yourself.

To do this you need to have:

  • A piece of copper tube with a diameter of up to 10 mm.
  • Electric drill.
  • Thin drills.
  • A hacksaw for metal.
  • Blowtorch.
  • Sandpaper.
  • Protractor.
  • Files.
  • Winding rings.
  • Tee (hook).

Manufacturing technique:

  • The copper tube is marked so that on one side there is a slope of 17 degrees.
  • On the second side there is an angle of 23 degrees.
  • Using a hacksaw for metal, the body of the spoon is cut according to the marked angles.
  • The result should be a shape that resembles an elongated puck.
  • The inside of the spinner should be filled with solder.
  • Holes for winding rings are drilled on one and the other side of the spinner.
  • The body of the spinner must be thoroughly sanded using sandpaper.
  • Attach winding rings to the bait and install a tee.
  • As practice shows, a homemade spoon is no less catchy than the branded “Kastmaster”. In addition, the spinner can be colored at your discretion, which makes it especially attractive. As a result, a good mood from a good bait game.

This, simple at first glance, spoon breaks all records for catchability. In this regard, every lover of winter perch fishing has it. This spoon is characterized by an interesting game in the water column, which makes it quite catchy and makes fishing exciting. In addition, artificial bait has a long service life.

The Malek spinner is easy to manufacture and does not require special skills or special materials. The main material for its manufacture is corrugated plumbing pipe. The spinner is quite effective in winter, despite the simplicity of its design.

How to make a spinner from a corrugated pipe:

  • To do this, you need to take a section of such a pipe and draw the contours of the future spinner on it. The approximate dimensions of the spoon are as follows: length – 5 cm, width 3 mm on one side, and width 8 mm on the other side.
  • The next stage is the body of the bait is cut out along the drawn lines.
  • Holes are drilled on both sides of the workpiece (one at a time).
  • The body of the spoon is polished and very carefully.
  • The Malek spinner can be equipped with both a single hook and a tee.
  • Artificial threads should be attached to the hook (tee) so that they can disguise the hook.

Such a spinner is characterized by a very active game, which lures a predator. Since the body of the bait has an uneven surface, when it moves it emits peculiar acoustic waves. As a rule, the perch cannot resist this spoon and immediately attacks it.

There is another spinner that actively catches perch - this is the Maropedka spinner. There is a huge variety of artificial baits for fishing from ice on the market or in specialized stores. Unfortunately, they cost money, which not every fisherman can afford, especially since any lure can actually be made at home.

As a rule, those fishermen who like the manufacturing process make their own spinners. If you approach this responsibly, you will end up with copies that are no worse than factory ones, or even better. In addition, fishing with a hand-made lure is much more interesting and exciting.

I have long been interested in the shape of this spinner, but it kept coming across in small scales and was more suitable for catching perch on shallows, and recently on Russfishing a somodelkin with the nickname Kursky posted the dimensions of a heavier spinner KT-45.

Here is his drawing-

This one just fits my conditions and I decided to try to make something similar, but slightly change the dimensions, making the workpiece a little wider than the original. Then Mamba reminded me of the catchability of this model, I bought a new soldering iron, the mood appeared, there was time... in general, everything was “in color”.

I drew a template

I cut it out and glued it with PVA glue to a silver-plated brass sheet, 0.5 mm thick. I carefully cut out the metal blank, and then the question arose about giving it the necessary bends.

Here Google came to the rescue, where I dug up a video on how to give the plate those tricky bends without a stamp. It turns out that everything ingenious is simple, you just need a couple of blunt chisels and it will work.

On a piece of dense foam, first use a wide chisel to knock out a bend along the central axis,

and then the side edges are knocked out with a narrow one. In fact, you can knock everything out with one chisel.

Here's what happens -

Next, pliers come into play, with the help of which both sides of the “tail” are bent at 90 degrees, forming sides. The height of the sides was about two millimeters, then I sanded them down a little. Literally removed a millimeter, or maybe even less, overall trimmed it.

Then he attached this blank to another 6 mm thick plate, traced it along the contour with an awl and cut out a second crown.

and I even succeeded, but I’ll say right away that later, when soldering, I got so carried away by pressing the crowns against each other that I again straightened out all my extrusions with clamps. So be careful if you want to make it closer to the original.

After the crowns are completely adjusted (I had to resort to using sandpaper to align all the sides and edges), we clean the internal surfaces, treat them with flux, also prepare two rings and begin tinning all parts of the future spinner and pouring the blanks.

The original talked about different solders, but I used one, the brand of which I don’t know. I tinned the rings, filled the triangular crown on the bread crumb with tin, placing the rings (note that the ring under the tee is placed perpendicular to the horizontal plane of the spinner, and the ring for attaching to the fishing line is placed in the same plane as the spinner).

When both sides of the CT-ash are completely filled, it is necessary to re-fit the plates as tightly as possible to each other, removing excess solder with a file and making the contacting parts completely flat. Now we solder the edges. In this case, the metal of both crowns will warm up well and they will be completely soldered into a single whole. Make sure that the crowns do not move and the rings do not “float”. In addition, you need to ensure that tin does not leak out of previously filled voids in the blanks. For this reason, when soldering, the spinner should be kept in a horizontal plane with the triangular side down and not overheated.

Here I had serious problems...it overheated a little, the ring came off or the tin flowed due to the tilt of the parts being soldered. I had to tinker... unsolder/solder a couple of times. But, one way or another, the matter has been brought to its logical conclusion and the spinner is ready for final processing -

I slightly damaged the “tail” with a clamp... to be honest, I no longer had the patience to start all over again, so I decided to leave the test spinner as is.

Well, after a short manipulation with files, sandpaper and a grinding felt wheel, I got my first spinner KT-45.

As I see it after the test in the bathroom, minor “jambs” with a bulge in the lower part of the spinner and a bend in the “tail” did not affect the play of the spinner. The spinner casts well and starts up with a sharp short tug, as you can see for yourself -

All the same, in future I will be more careful, so that it will be, as Cornet says... - “beautiful!” :)))

Direct hands, inspiration and patience to everyone.

PS The test result showed that the spoon works and regularly catches bersh at depths of up to 10 meters in very weak currents.

Let's start by figuring out what kind of winter amateur gear there are.

  1. Fishing rod. (float, nodding).
  2. Fishing rod for trolling (spinners, balancers, rubber baits).
  3. Zherlitsa.

In this article we’ll talk about lures, or more precisely, which winter lures for perch are used for fishing.

Fishing rod for trolling

Since we are talking about the topic of winter lure fishing, let’s dwell a little on the fishing rod. Unlike the summer one, it has a small size from 35 cm to 70 cm, a reel or reel for winding fishing line.

The shorter the whip, the less active play it can achieve, which leads to more effective fishing in the dead of winter.

A little history

Even in ancient times, people understood that an object moving underwater lured a predator and began to use it to make bait until they learned how to mine metal.

  • stone,
  • tree,
  • animal bones.

Nowadays there is no such need, since fishing stores sell a lot of different catchable baits made in a factory.

And yet, passionate, inquisitive people prefer to make lures for perch with their own hands.

Perch spoons

The best catchable spinners for winter fishing in the dead of winter when the bite is inactive.

Carnation:

It is characterized by a straight, long, narrow, angular body, widening towards the hook.
There are several varieties of such bait.

  • Boat: Round, straight, long body, with a prominent teardrop shape.
  • Whitebait: boat-shaped with a slightly arched body.
  • Senezhskaya: stretched ellipse with a wavy structure.
  • Leningradskaya: long, flat, wavy, drop-visible body.

How to make a lure for perch

Let's look at the drawings, which indicate the dimensions of the spinners.

Matveychikova.

As you can see from the drawing, the shape is not at all complicated and with a minimum of costs you can make a catchy bait. To make it, you will need a metal plate, which can be easily straightened with a hammer from a copper tube by sawing lengthwise. To transfer a drawing; pencil, metal scriber. Anvil, hammer, chisel; to cut out the workpiece. A file for rough processing of a part, a needle file for fine processing. Vise; to bend the plate at an angle. Soldering iron, soldering flux, tin; solder the hook and loop and create the shape. Fine sandpaper, sewing needle; remove irregularities. Felt, goyim paste; for polishing.
Having all the tools listed above, you can easily make a winter spinner for catching pike and perch, which has its own special appearance and game.

Video games of Matveychikov's spinners.

I'd like to note.

It is not necessary to use exactly the tool that I wrote about. For example: instead of a vice, you can take pliers, and in general, use any improvised tool that you have. The end result is important.

Carnation.

Classic spinner. Looking at the drawing, you can see that to make it you will need two plates, a hook and all the tools that were described above.

Manufacturing procedure.

We take the plate, transfer the drawings onto it, cut it out with a chisel or cut it out with scissors. We adjust the resulting blanks to size using a needle file. We bend the larger one in the indicated place. Using a lighter, lower the metal in the middle of the hook shank and cut it with wire cutters. Using pliers we bend the lowered one at an angle of 90 degrees and tin it.
We grab the hook in the front part with solder, and the forend in the thin rear part. We tin the metal all over the base from the soldering side of the tip. We grab the second flat plate. We fill the space between them with tin. Using a file, then using a needle file, we remove the unevenness. We polish it and the winter lure for perch with our own hands is ready.

Tube.

Probably the easiest bait to make for catching perch in winter. To make it you will need any 7-12 mm tube. Drill, drill, ruler, hacksaw and needle file.

Manufacturing procedure.

We select a tube of the required diameter. Depending on the diameter, the size of the larger side is 50-80 mm. Marks are placed, and from there the angle at which the tube will be cut is selected. The front part is at an angle of 30-60 degrees towards the tail. The tail is at an angle of 20 degrees to the front. A hole is drilled in the long rear part for the winding ring for the hook. There are two more holes in the head front part. One hole is drilled on the long side, the other on the short side, for a carabiner. By changing the carabiner mount, we change the game of the bait.

For even greater catchability, the bait can be equipped with a turbine. The turbine is cut out from a tube of smaller diameter, 3-4 mm wide, and holes are drilled in the center opposite each other. At a distance of 5-6 mm from the edge to which the hook is attached, holes are also made opposite each other, into which a steel wire is inserted, a turbine is put on it in the holes, the wire is ground and rolled with tube material.
The cut points are corrected with a needle file. The spoon is polished, the hook is attached and off you go for the trophies.

Castmaster.

Another catchable spoon, the castmaster spinner is also not difficult to make if you have the necessary material and tools.

There are three ways to make a castmaster or spinner with your own hands.

  1. Sawing from a rod.
  2. Sawing from a tube
  3. Casting in plaster mold

Making winter lures for perch

The material used is any round or multifaceted rod with a diameter of 10-20 mm, most often copper, brass, or stainless steel.

Tool

  • Ruler, protractor, scriber to mark the dimensions on the workpiece.
  • Hacksaw, vice, needle file for cutting and rough processing of the spinner.
  • Drill with a drill for making holes.
  • Polishing accessories.

Making a spinner

First way

We clamp the rod in a vice and mark the angle of the cut. A mark is placed along the edge of the workpiece, an angle of 17 degrees to the left or right is selected from it, it does not matter, the first cut is made. We retreat 2 mm from the edge, select a second angle of 23 degrees, and cut it with a hacksaw. We trim the unevenness with a file, drill holes for the hook and carabiner, polish it, and assemble the lure.

The second method is from a tube.

Everything is the same, but the spinner turns out to be hollow and light. You can leave it as is, or you can make it heavier by first filling the void with molten lead or tin.

Third way

You will need plaster, lead, fire.
According to the original, a mold is made in plaster and filled with molten lead.

Balda

Bottom tool for catching perch. Why? Because the play of this tackle is directly related to lowering it to the bottom. After it is lowered, they move it slightly without lifting it from the ground, creating the appearance of a swarming insect or fish in the mud, occasionally lifting it and lowering it back to the bottom.
A do-it-yourself spinner for perch for winter fishing from the bottom is made quite simply.

Materials:

  • Olive conical sinker.
  • Two hooks with long or short shank
  • Cambric or beads
  • A piece or main line on a fishing rod.

Manufacturing:

We cut the cambrics, put them on hooks, the cambrics are needed in different colors and sizes. Wire insulation will do. A hole is made on the smaller side of the weight at a distance of 1.5-2 mm. A hook is placed on the main line with the tip away from the end, followed by a load and a second hook, dressed in the opposite direction to the first. The line is folded and a knot is tied. The gear is ready, all that remains is to start fishing.

Alga.

A very catchy classic S-shaped spoon. It is rarely done at home for perch fishing, since many people believe that this type of spoon is for pike.
Because most often they are produced in large sizes and the most common is the third number.
By making a similar Alga spinner, following the example of Protva, which I will discuss below, you can successfully catch perch.

Protva

Another oscillating catchable spoon similar in bend to the Algu, but with a narrower shape and an additional element such as a fin.

Let's learn how to make such spoons.

Most likely, an ignorant person, starting to make such a spoon, will take the dimensions from it, increasing or decreasing them by as much as he wants, and begin manufacturing.
Perhaps this will pass in architecture, but in the geometric construction of figures there is another rule, such as maintaining ratios.

For example: Here is a diagram for constructing a regular spoon spoon. We draw an oval according to the dimensions of the original spinner and to make a similar one, but larger, we increase it by five millimeters.
Will it be considered similar? No. Since the ratio of the length and width of the original is 2, and that of a similar one is 1.6.

By increasing the width accordingly, we must increase the length by 2 times, in relation to the width of the original.

In order to make such a blank of a complex shape, it is necessary to apply a conversion factor.
We take all the dimensions from the original, multiplying or dividing them by a conversion factor that you choose yourself, you can get either a smaller or larger similar shape.
And here is an example of how to get a similar bend using a simple graphic drawing.

Thus, using a spinner for catching pike with your own hands, you get a similar catchy winter spinner for perch with your own hands.

Ganduras.

Quite an exotic name for a spinner invented by Russian fishermen, but I would rather say that this is a type of bait than a separate, independent species. The made Honduras is very similar to the Bald bait with one difference: instead of a weight, a short spinner with a single hook is placed here.

Murderer.

A strange-looking spoon, it looks like a cicada with open wings, for this reason it is called a cicada in the literature, and among fishermen it is a perch killer.
Such homemade winter lures for perch are easily made from a rotating petal, shaped like a willow leaf.
Additional holes are drilled in the petal for a fishing line and a hook; as a rule, this is a double; a lead weight is attached to the side opposite the hook; a pellet or an olive depends on the size.

Winter lures for perch differ from baits for other types of fish only in size. The choice of spinner is determined by the depth of the reservoir and the current. For example, in January, perch, like trophy humpback salmon, is caught using a spinner with a narrow body and noticeable weight, because the process takes place at great depths.

When and how to catch perch using lures in winter

You can start trolling as early as a week after the river freezes, but the most successful period for catching a predator is considered to be the end of winter, when the fish need to gain strength after the cold weather.

Winter perch fishing is divided into certain periods, depending on which the fisherman’s actions change:

  1. At the beginning of winter, when the ice is not yet thick enough, “minke whales” live close to the shore. The peculiarity of this period of time is that, despite the rather greedy bite, you still have to look for fish, at least if your goal is large prey.
  2. In the middle of winter. Perch can be found throughout the entire area of the reservoir; predators are divided into schools of no more than seven individuals. Using the reconnaissance method, places with the most intense bite are found, and subsequently the fisherman will simply need to find these points on the reservoir again.
  3. In February. The accuracy of determining the position of a perch reaches one and a half meters. At this time, the ice is already quite thick, and the angler will have to drill for sure.

An important element of almost any fishing is bait; its main purpose is to keep the school near the hole. Ideally, bait is carried out a day or two before the fishing itself, in this case the chance of success of the event increases significantly. For perch, store-bought food bloodworms are best suited. If it is possible to grow live bait in an aquarium, then this option is no less useful: live bloodworms will attract fish for a long time by burying themselves in the ground.

How to make a spinner with your own hands?

Due to the fact that there is an abundance of all kinds of fakes on the market, and prices for branded sporting goods are quite high, some fishermen prefer to make spoons from scrap materials. Despite the fact that the drawings of spinners for different types of fish may be the same, craftsmen make qualitative changes to the adjustment of the plate, which ensures its guaranteed reliability.

A homemade spoon, even of low quality, is a good chance for beginners to try themselves in this business by first catching small perches.

Algorithm of actions

Technology for making a spinner for winter fishing from a tin can:

  1. Cut a straight sheet of metal using special scissors. After which the paper, paint and other unnecessary elements are removed.
  2. On the sheet, draw and cut out the shape of the future spinner with scissors.
  3. Remove burrs using sandpaper. Use an awl to make two holes for the winding rings. Thoroughly polish the lure.
  4. Give the bait the desired shape using a spoon or other handy means.
  5. Attach winding rings and hooks to the spoon. Apply appropriate designs with nail polish.

The creation of a catchy winter lure for perch is clearly demonstrated in the video from the Fishing channel with Romario Agro.

Dimensions of perch lures

The size of the spoon directly depends on the size of the prey. If the fisherman is interested in large perch, then spoons from four to seven centimeters are used. This size allows the weighty predator to attack without obstacles in the form of a small school. If the priority is small fish, then a bait of two to three centimeters in size is used. The optimal length is considered to be a spinner length of three to five centimeters.

Main types of perch spinners

Anyone who wants to test their strength in trolling must know the types of bait action depending on its variety. The behavior of the bait can be divided into four characters.

Gvozdik

This type of spinner got its name because of its vertical fall and is well suited for catching active perch. The bait is lowered to the bottom of a reservoir up to two meters deep, then a smooth rise of 15-30 centimeters is carried out and dumped.

Gliding lures for perch

Gliding or floating spoons are distinguished by their oscillation. Such baits fall in a horizontal position and go a decent distance from the hole. Externally, it is distinguished by concavities and convexities on the body, as well as noticeable curvature. The weight of such a spoon is less than a nail, and the permissible depth for effective fishing is from five to six meters. The bait slowly rises to a level of up to sixty centimeters and drops sharply.

Loose spoons

In the manufacture of such baits, technologies are used to shift the center of gravity to the middle of the product and symmetry of the sides with an acute angle in the center of the entire length. The fall is also different from other types; it occurs slowly in a horizontal position at the bottom, while the spoon creates small oscillatory movements. The bait slowly rises to any height and is dropped abruptly; in this case, throwing should be avoided.

Spinner "Step"

Another type of bait for winter trolling of perch. Externally it is a narrow strip with a concave shape. The game is played with a short swing and a sharp release of the spoon.
