2. Khan's Palace in Bakhchisarai, which is a unique example of Crimean Tatar architecture. 4. Visit cave city Chufut-Kale takes almost the whole day. The medieval fortress town of Chufut-Kale is located 3 km from Bakhchisarai on the plateau of a mountain spur dominating three deep valleys. The city was founded by the Byzantines in the 5th and 6th centuries and abandoned by its inhabitants at the end of the 19th century. Currently, most of Chufut-Kale is in ruins.
In its western, most ancient part, numerous utility rooms carved out of caves (for example, barns for storing sausages, sheds), the ruins of a mosque and the mausoleum of the daughter of the Golden Horde Khan Tokhtamysh, Dzhanyke-Khanym, built in 1437, have been preserved. Also well preserved are two kenassas (Karaite temples) and one residential estate, consisting of two houses.
