Complex routes and finding the cheapest tickets. Search for air tickets complex route Air tickets complex route

If you love to travel, then you simply must learn to look for cheap tickets on your own, because this will allow you to fly even cheaper and more often. Every day we find interesting cheap tickets and publish them on our pages on social networks. You can wait until our lucky tickets coincide with your plans, or take everything into your own hands and act, although one does not interfere with the other, but only helps.

Let's start with the fact that you should be familiar with airline ticket metasearch engines. If you don’t know what we’re talking about, then it’s better to start by reading our article ““, it was written for those who have never tried to search for tickets on the Internet, and it describes the basic principles of searching using the example of the two most popular services.

Well, in this article we decided to collect in one place various techniques that will not leave a chance for any cheap ticket to go unnoticed.

1. 100 cheap air tickets

A very simple and effective way is the 100 cheap air tickets service from Aviasales - a list of tickets to various destinations in ascending order of price. We select the departure city, the period when you want to fly (at any time, on the weekend, in two weeks, on various holidays and by month). It is possible to view one-way tickets or set the number of days between round trip flights. You can also filter destinations - abroad, without a visa, by country.

2. Advanced search Aviasales

The Aviasales advanced search has more complex settings in contrast to the standard Aviasales search. Important distinctive features: the direction can be set not only by city, but also by country, or without a specific direction; flight times are set by month and season; there is sorting by price, price per kilometer, route popularity; the total duration of the trip is specified. It is also possible to check one-way tickets.

3. Low price calendar

If you are looking for tickets to a specific destination, then the low price calendar from Aviasales will help you. Select the period and duration and look at the results. You can also search for one-way flights. The result is displayed in the form of a calendar on which the cheapest options for your request are highlighted in green. On our website, in our publications, we use Aviasales calendar modules to visually show you all the cheap dates.

4. Special offers on air tickets

Another service from Aviaseles. Search for special offers on air tickets - a special page where promotions and discounts of various airlines are collected. Often the airline deals presented are not the cheapest option on the market. This page will be more useful to those who like to fly with certain airlines or understand the quality of service of a particular airline, then you will definitely be able to evaluate the benefits of the discounts provided.

5. Skyscanner Advanced Search

We perform an advanced Skyscanner search from the main page of the site. To do this, in the “Where” field you need to set the “Everywhere” condition. And the departure and return dates can be set by month or the condition “Cheapest month” can be set. It is possible to search only for direct flights. As a result, we get a list of countries in ascending order of price, and if we expand the country, we get a list of cities, also sorted in ascending price. We select the desired direction and then select dates according to the price calendar.

6. Ticket tracking using a bot

If you have already decided where you need to fly and want to track the decrease in ticket prices in this direction, Aviasales has a special search bot for abnormal air ticket prices, with which you will definitely not miss a price change. The bot works in four instant messengers - Viber, Telegram, Facebook, Slack - and is very easy to manage.

7. The main low-cost airline in the country is Pobeda

Low-cost airline Pobeda offers the best deals on flights from Moscow to various European destinations. Pobeda also has many cheap flights from the regions to Moscow, which allows you to connect an inexpensive ticket from a provincial city to Europe. But cheap tickets are not always available and not for all dates, so you need to buy them on time.

Super cheap fares always appear unexpectedly: for example, when a new destination opens or dates for a new season. There are always a limited number of cheap tickets, and they are quickly sold out, so sometimes they don’t even have time to get into the metasearch results. In general, if you are interested in one of the directions of Victory, it makes sense to regularly visit their official website and check. Usually new tickets are posted in the morning, and if you didn’t have time to buy them, try to look at them the next day and be always ready.

8. From the regions to Moscow

At the time of writing this article, a new Russian low-cost airline Azimut has appeared on the air transportation market. It currently offers routes within the country. It is still difficult to say how it will develop further. But if you do not live in the capital, we advise you to pay attention to it. They began their discovery with a route connecting Omsk and Moscow for 888 rubles in one direction. That is, this is a chance for the regions to get to Moscow cheaply, and then enjoy the capital’s prices for flying abroad. There is also the airline UTair, which periodically competes with Pobeda’s prices - check to see if it’s cheaper to fly from your city to Moscow with them.

9. Combine routes

It often happens that visiting two cities is cheaper than flying to one of them. If you find cheap tickets, then try using the advanced search (see point 5) to see where and how much you can fly from this city within your dates. Typically, such combinations are easy to obtain if you fly to Europe with Pobeda: for example, it is cheaper to fly to Portugal via Germany than to fly directly to Portugal. In general, if visiting several places in one trip is more of a plus than a minus for you, then this is an excellent option.

10. Difficult route

The combined route described above is good for its simplicity, but there is a drawback - sometimes you don’t want to return to the city from which you have already flown. To eliminate this shortcoming, it is necessary to draw up a more complex route, when we start the trip in one city and return home from another. Travel options can be very diverse.

We'll tell you tricks that will allow you to visit several cities at a price that may be cheaper than flying to one of them. All this works well in Europe, where the network of low-cost airlines is well developed.

1. The main thing is to find a cheap ticket to return; this is usually a problem. Often such tickets can be found at Pobeda. For example, you went to the Pobeda website and cannot find convenient cheap flights there and back, but there is a cheap return ticket, so take advantage of it!

2. Find a cheap ticket there. You can also look for it at Pobeda by looking at tickets for other destinations during this period. Or use the advanced search in metasearch engines (we are looking for one-way tickets), methods No. 1, 2 and 5, described above, are suitable for this.

3. From the cheap round-trip options found, we select those between which the flight is cheaper. Thus, we get two cities and three flights. If it’s not enough, you can add more cities and flights :) We find and analyze all variations using metasearch engines. And this can be done ad infinitum, the main thing is that everything is within reasonable limits and the added cities are interesting to you.

4. You can travel around Europe on a budget by land using buses. This further expands our capabilities. Bus routes can be included in your complex route - we perform the search using the service, looking at a regular map.

Search for inexpensive air tickets through the World Wide Web and a complex flight route.

Most people planning to travel by air do not want to pay dearly for tickets and are looking for ways to purchase them more profitably. These may not be the best tickets, but they will be cheaper. This is the psychology of almost every person.

By tracking the price of plane tickets at different airlines, you can find some interesting options. Perhaps these will be sales, or the agency has received a bonus from a serious carrier and can sell plane tickets at discounts. However, there is no guarantee that by the time you get to the point of sale, there will still be cheap tickets left. It is quite possible that you will have to look for tickets elsewhere and once again waste time traveling.

Possible options for selecting affordable plane tickets on the Internet.

From now on, in order to find an air ticket on the Internet, you will not need to go anywhere, wasting time. You just need to compare prices on several airline websites.

We recommend that you immediately visit a specialized website, because here you will find an effective service for selecting available tickets. The system will quickly provide results in accordance with your requests. Just imagine how much time it will take to find tickets if you go to the website of each carrier in turn. Moreover, you will not be able to find some carriers’ websites at all.

Should you be afraid of purchasing air tickets online?

One way or another, many residents of our country to this day are distrustful of the Internet. They believe that it is easier and safer to buy something in traditional ways, fearing Internet technologies. But there are also many who perfectly understand the benefits of the Internet and have been booking air tickets on portals that they can trust for quite a long time.

Modern services, offering tickets, provide secure communications and serious protection of personal data. Thus, when paying with credit cards, the process is protected by the security systems of the payment system.

Remember! When purchasing air tickets via the Internet, you should beware of offers from private individuals, because often they are scammers who make money through deception. Most often, such “profitable” offers can be found on social networks.

Plane tickets at a good price are usually different (difficult route).

It is worth highlighting one more point - the actual definition of an inexpensive ticket. Of course: the flight St. Petersburg - Tokyo and Moscow - St. Petersburg simply cannot cost the same due to the different flight distances. Therefore, inexpensive tickets for such routes will differ significantly.

It should also be noted that the most affordable tickets can be found on those routes where serious carriers offer services, high frequency of flights and larger aircraft. It is believed that the cost of air tickets is reduced if you purchase them in advance.

This rule is only partly true in our time, since with the growing number of competitors, carriers increasingly began to offer the purchase of cheap tickets shortly before departure in order to fill the flight to the maximum.

Where to buy air tickets: results.

In the end, we will give a couple more arguments in favor of the service on the website portal. The advantages of this site are undeniable: convenient and clear navigation, many offers from carriers, speed of search, highest reliability, various payment options.

Searching for cheap air tickets, we have long promised to write about more “advanced life hacks”. Finally got around to it.

Advanced life hacks. Part one. 4 ways to save money by skipping flights :)

First, again, a little theory to understand the logic of airline pricing.

Theory: direct flights or flights with connections and skipping a segment on the ticket.

Let's look at a couple of very frequently asked questions by newbies.

— Why are direct flights more expensive than flights with connections?

— Is it possible to start a flight from the second (third, fourth, etc.) segment? Or miss a segment of your flight?

Example

Let's explain with an example: a Moscow-Rome-Moscow ticket from Alitalia costs 13 thousand rubles, and a Moscow-Rome-Malaga-Rome-Moscow ticket costs 9000 rubles. At the same time, flights from Moscow to Rome seem to be on the same flights. At first glance, it is illogical.

Why is the airline ready to sell you 2 flights more expensive, but 4 flights cheaper? The answer is simple - she is trying to earn more money.

All other things being equal (departure time, convenience, etc.), the passenger will always prefer a direct flight. It's more convenient and faster. Since it is more convenient, he will be willing to PAY more for this convenience. There are certain categories of people for whom a direct flight is very valuable, and they are willing to pay one and a half to two times more expensive just to avoid the hassle of connections. In particular, if your employer sends you on a business trip and pays for it, then you will still choose a direct flight, even if it is more expensive, because “the office pays.” The airline is counting on this; for it, direct flights are the MAIN market from which it seeks to make its profit. That is why when you are looking for tickets from Moscow to Rome, a direct flight will be offered to you at a more expensive fare.

On the other hand, when you are looking for tickets from Moscow to Malaga, you are generally not going to fly there on Alitalia flights via Rome. Well, that is, maybe you don’t mind, but this is clearly not the first thing that comes to mind. And all other things being equal, you will fly on a direct flight, for example, Vueling. Now let’s imagine that Alitalia’s Moscow-Rome and Rome-Malaga flights are underloaded on these dates. It may happen that there will be empty places and the company will not receive money for these places at all. This is where they “give you a discount” and offer to buy tickets cheaper, giving you “4 flights for less than two.” We are simply trying to explain things “hands-on”, so it looks a little complicated, but in fact all this is done automatically by the system using the rules of fares and booking classes.

If you want to go to Rome, then it seems tempting to you to buy a ticket Moscow-Rome-Malaga-Rome-Moscow for 9,000 rubles, and fly on it only the first segment to Rome and the last segment back from Rome. Alas, this will only happen with the first part of the plan. As soon as you are not on the flight from Rome to Malaga, all other segments of your ticket will be canceled, or simply “burned out”. The general rule here is that once you miss at least one segment, forget about all the rest.

It would seem that this does not help us fly cheaply, but this is only at first glance. Because WE CAN STILL “SKIP” THE SEGMENTS AT THE END OF THE TICKET.

Practice: four “advanced” methods

Method 1: If you're looking for a one-way ticket, check for connecting flights to nearby cities. (Secretly, this is our favorite life hack)

Unclear? Let's look at it using an example. We are looking for a one-way ticket Moscow-Riga. We check, and it costs 5,000 rubles. A little expensive. We start to think and remember that AirBaltic, flying from Moscow to Riga, often gives good prices in the Baltics and Scandinavia. The most competitive and cheapest route from Moscow to the Baltics is Moscow-Vilnius; on this route AirBaltic will have to compete with Transaero and Aeroflot. Why not check a one-way ticket from Moscow to Vilnius via Riga? We check and... AirBaltic is pleased to offer it to us for 2700 rubles. Exactly! We choose the option with a long connection in Riga and, well... we don’t seem to make it in time (we forget, we wake up, we get sick), but for good reasons we never get to the Riga-Vilnius segment. Since we skip not the first, but the last segment, the ticket will be canceled, but only after we no longer need it. We will fly to Riga, but not to Vilnius. But after this there are no segments we need!

If you are flying with luggage, do not forget to tell the check-in desk that your luggage will be checked not to your final destination, but to your intermediate destination. With long connections, as a rule, no problems arise - you can be motivated by the fact that you have a “bottle as a gift”, which is not allowed in hand luggage, clothes or medicine.

Method 2: If you're looking for a return ticket, check to see if you can combine two one-way tickets

Well, not just back and forth like you may have done before. For example, if you are looking for Moscow-Tallinn-Moscow, then with classic airlines a round-trip flight will not be cheaper than two separate tickets Moscow-Tallinn and Tallinn-Moscow.

Therefore, you need to search taking into account the saving option described in method 1. Sometimes you can save on a return ticket, sometimes on a return ticket, and in some cases on both :)

In the example with Tallinn, we managed to save money both there and back. For example, like this: there Moscow-Tallinn-(Vilnius) and Tallinn-Moscow-(St. Petersburg). We flew only Moscow-Tallinn-Moscow, naturally. And it turned out to be significantly cheaper.

Method 3.“Bonus” trips - go on 2 trips for the price of one

Before this, we only considered options when choosing the direction where to fly. The next step is to start playing with changing the city from which we are flying.

The idea here is simple: since a direct flight from our city to the desired destination is expensive (we explained above why it is expensive), then why not look for a cheap flight from another city (neighboring or not), but which we also don’t mind visiting. That is, roughly speaking, why not combine two trips.

Example: we described one in detail using the example of saving on tickets from Moscow to Tenerife (and).

Another example: Aeroflot (and its subsidiary airline Russia) sometimes gives very good prices from Europe to Asia (eg Japan and South Korea), relying on European transit passengers. Something like Prague-Moscow-Seoul-Moscow-Prague. Why not fly to Prague for a couple of days before traveling to South Korea, if for the price two trips will work out as one? After all, for this we only need the very first one-way flight from Moscow to Prague. On the way back, again choosing the right long connection, disembark in Moscow or St. Petersburg and skip the last segment. Here

Method 4. Multi-segment flight without last segment(s)

Airline companies, competing with each other, sell cheap not only round-trip tickets, but also tickets on complex routes. These are the so-called forked flights (or open-jaw in English). There are single forks - when either the arrival cities do not match (for example, Moscow-Hamburg, Berlin-Moscow) or the departure cities (for example, Helsinki-Paris, Paris-St. Petersburg), and double - when neither one nor the other coincides ( eg Copenhagen-New York, Miami-Stockholm).

We love these flights for several reasons:

1) they are good for seeing several cities in one trip;

Finding such flights at low prices is very difficult at first, but don’t worry - we often write about them. If you learn how to dock them and be flexible in the directions you fly, it will pay off in a big way.

Examples: you live in St. Petersburg and read on our website about a cheap Finnair ticket with a complex route St. Petersburg-New York, Miami-Stockholm for 15,000 rubles. The entire flight looks like this: St. Petersburg-Helsinki-New York, Miami-Helsinki-Stockholm. Here, for sure, everything is clear. On the way back we check in our luggage to Helsinki, and from there by bus to St. Petersburg. Another example: so beloved by us and described many times

When buying air tickets online, you will always find a comprehensive number of flight options. Searching for plane tickets on the portal means not wasting valuable time. The start of selling plane tickets online allowed air carriers to reduce the cost of plane tickets. At the moment, plane tickets are much cheaper than before. This is why it is better to purchase air tickets on this portal than at the airport ticket office. Let's list the advantages: minimum time, large selection, low cost. Airplane tickets on the resource will definitely be more profitable than at an ordinary ticket office.

To find the required flight option, available seats and book a ticket, you need:

    Set a travel route
Enter route information (“From” - “Where”) and flight dates. If necessary, you can choose to search with a return flight or a continuation of the route. Additionally, you should indicate the number of passengers for whom you are looking for a flight. Start a search Select the flight option that suits you from the search results.
  • Book a flight
  • Pay for your air ticket in a way convenient for you

By default, the Standard one-way search form is available as a tool for setting a route on the main page of the air ticket search service. Switching between one-way and both-way searches is organized using the corresponding buttons at the top of the form.

After completing the search, the system will automatically redirect you to a page with available flight options.

Select the appropriate flights for each route point by left clicking the mouse, and click the “Select” button. The system will search for available seats on the selected flight option and redirect you to the booking page.

Provide information for Passengers and Buyers. In most cases, the Passenger and the Buyer are the same person, however, if you are buying an air ticket, for example, for your grandmother, then you will be the Buyer and your grandmother will be the Passenger.

Be careful when entering data. Once a booking has been created, passenger information cannot be changed!

Be sure to read the IATA agreement and fare rules at the bottom of the page.

    Why is this?

Situation: we are planning to fly to Australia. At the same time, we are not against a stopover for 2-3 days somewhere in Hong Kong. We want to return straight to Moscow. Without a complex search, you can search like this: 3 times in one direction (Moscow - Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Sydney, Sydney - Moscow) - inconvenient and long, the minimum price will most likely be from different agencies, respectively, 3 bookings, 3 payments, 3 letters with electronic tickets. With a complex search, we can open the route and search immediately for Moscow - Hong Kong - Sydney - Moscow. The result is one search, one booking, one payment, one ticket. And the price will be lower than several times one way.

    Example with numbers.

We fly to Nice, then we take a car and drive along the entire Cote d'Azur, and fly back from Barcelona. Moscow-Nice one way is a little over 7 thousand, Barcelona-Moscow one way is also about 8 thousand, a total of almost 16 thousand. Search for a composite route: Moscow - Nice plus Barcelona - Moscow, the price for one booking is less than 11 thousand. The savings are more than 5 thousand, and this is from one ticket. What if you are flying with your whole family or group? Draw conclusions.

NB! Composite routes are generally cheaper, but there are exceptions to every rule. Search with regular search too.

There are a huge number of search engines and airline ticket booking sites on the Internet now, and the owners of these resources are constantly trying to improve their sites by coming up with more and more interesting features. One of these features is multi-search. Multisearch (multi-booking) is the search and booking of tickets along complex routes consisting of several (more than 2) points. All the most well-known airline ticket search and booking services (for example Aviasales) are currently working on implementing such a function, but some already have it. Let's look at how this innovation works on two well-known American resources for travelers, which were among the first to introduce this function on their website.

The well-known travel resource Expedia.com was the first to introduce a multi-search and multi-booking function for air tickets on its website. It is convenient and easy to use.

In the Expedia search form, when selecting a flight option, select Multiple Destinations (multiple route) by checking the appropriate box:

In the search form that opens, you can enter five different flights at once. Let's say you are planning to travel around Europe and set off from Moscow. You plan to visit 4 cities (Berlin, Paris, Milan, Vienna) and return back to Moscow. Let's say that you will only be in each city for 2 days. So, enter the necessary information into the search form and click the “SEARCH FOR FLIGHTS” button (search for flights)

The system finds flight options for a given route that can be filtered by price (PRICE), transfers (STOPS), arrival time (ARRIVAL TIME), flight duration (DURATION):

Select the ticket option you like and press the "SELECT" button:

The selected option opens with details of the entire route. All you have to do is familiarize yourself with these details and book your ticket by clicking the "BOOK NOW" button:

So, the process of booking a route that includes 5 flights is completed. There are no fundamental differences from booking one flight, this is of course pleasing, since there is a clear saving of time.

Now let’s look at the multi-search and booking service on the well-known travel portal bootsnall.com. Here the developers went further and, instead of the standard multi-search, made a separate service for travelers with many interesting features and even their own unique brand. As the developers themselves write, this service primarily serves to plot a route with many points and not just for searching and booking plane tickets.

This service is called "INDIE", it was launched just a few days ago. It is located at indie.bootsnall.com

Unlike the multi-search service on Expedia, you can enter not 5 flights into the search form on Indie, but as many as you need 10,20,30.

So, let’s try to enter the same data into the search that we entered into the search on Expedia. In the window labeled "Add location" enter the starting point - Moscow. The point appears in the "Your route" route list and on the map:

We add the remaining route points, and in the windows that open, enter the flight dates.

Now click the “Search fares” button and the best price appears next to this button:

By pressing the "Select" button we go to the route description:

Press the "Select Itinerary" button and go to the page with a detailed list of the route with a button to confirm your choice "Continue" (continue):

Click "Continue" and go directly to booking your ticket.

All. The entire ticket booking procedure is completed.

Just like Expedia's Indie site, the entire process only took a few minutes. But unlike the Expedia service, Indie has several nice additions and convenient features for travelers.

For example, when planning a route, the type of movement between points can be changed. That is, air travel can be replaced with a ground option (by clicking on the airplane icon, we change it to the “ground” icon), while all points in the route are saved, but the cost of the ticket is calculated without the ground section, and on the map it is highlighted in green and not red.

In the route description this section will look like this:

In this post, we met and tried to understand two pioneering services that were the first to use the multi-search service for air tickets on their resources. As the example showed, the prices offered by the Indie service turned out to be much more “interesting”. And the service itself, in our opinion, is more informative and convenient. Well then, for now, let’s give him the palm in this area and wait to see what competitors offer, who, as we wrote earlier, are already preparing to introduce this service on their websites.

Kayak.com also has a multi-search function for 6-flight flights, similar to Expedia, but when we entered our test trip data that we used in testing Expedia and Indie, this service told us the following:

We didn't find any matching results. It is possible that none of our suppliers serve the specified destination, or there are no results available for the selected dates.

There are two more resources that have a multi-search function for air tickets, these are wakanow.com and moondo.ru But there this function has a truncated form, the services can only search for three (on wakanow.com) and four (on momondo.ru) flights at the same time.

  • Now let's look at one rather simple, but very rare, way to save money. It is so primitive that it is even strange that it is almost never mentioned. So now we will try to fill this gap and tell you what a “complex route” is (or, as it is often called, a “composite route”) andhow you can save money with itand who it will suit.

    Savings of 25,000 rubles!

To begin with, I’ll tell you exactly how we came across this very “difficult route”, and after reading it, it will immediately become clear to you how you personally can save on air tickets!

So, it all started with the fact that we needed to find and buy air tickets to the USA, and, preferably, as cheaply as possible.

What was the main difficulty? We had to visit New York and California, which meant that on top of the expensive price tag for a transatlantic flight, we would have to add money for an expensive domestic flight. There weren't many options:

    • Chelyabinsk - New York - Chelyabinsk plus New York - Los Angeles - New York. Price: 120,000 rub.
    • Chelyabinsk - Los Angeles - Chelyabinsk, without visiting New York. Price: 90,000 rubles, with New York - not real 132-136,000 rubles.
    • Chelyabinsk - Moscow - Chelyabinsk (14 thousand) plus Moscow - Los Angeles - Moscow, carried out by the Germans or Austrians. Price: 70,000 rub. If we also add the flight Los Angeles - New York roundtrip - 115,000 rub.

No matter how much I scoured forums and search engine sites, I couldn’t find anything more profitable. The cheapest option was a flight from Russia to Los Angeles for 70 thousand, with 1-2 transfers, and without visiting New York. As a result, we began to lean toward the idea of skipping New York altogether from the current trip and visiting it some other time.

I was already a little depressed that I was going to die and not see New York, when suddenly, by chance, in the Google Air Tickets service (not the most convenient, but quite fast metasearch engine), I came across the “Complicated route” button.

    What is a difficult route?

Here we need to make a short digression about what a “Difficult route” is:

    • One way flight- when we fly from point A to point B.
    • Round trip flight- in this case we fly from point A to point B, and then back to point A.
    • Difficult route— we can choose as many flights as needed, and are also free to handle the necessary departure/arrival points as we please.

A small example: a flight from Chelyabinsk to Ho Chi Minh City, the next flight we will add Bangkok - Singapore, and from Singapore we will fly back to Russia, but not to Chelyabinsk, but to Ufa. And this literally complex route can be bought with one ticket! The flight of fancy is not limited.

What will happen in our case?

It turned out that if you specify Chelyabinsk - New York as a route, and then Los Angeles - Chelyabinsk, then you can fly for 79 thousand, and if you change places between Los Angeles and New York, then the price becomes 74 thousand!

All that remains is to pay an additional 20 thousand for the flight Los Angeles - New York one way (or vice versa) to get the final price of all transfers of 94 thousand, which 20-22 thousand cheaper the most profitable, but not very convenient flight operated by Europeans!

Why is a difficult route so beneficial?

The savings here come from this: when we choose a round-trip flight, no matter how far we travel from our initial arrival point during the trip, we will in any case have to return to the same original point to fly back.

And any transfer costs money and time.

By choosing tickets for a complex route wisely, you won’t have to spend money on transfers to your departure point, and you’ll also save a fair amount of time. So this is a rare way of saving that not only saves money and time, but also increases comfort.

The only point you need to pay attention to– all points of your complex route must be served either by one airline or by airlines of the same alliance.

Despite the fact that a very specific and rather specific example was considered here (due to the rather expensive flights within the USA), with the correct route construction, this method can be used everywhere, both when traveling in Europe, and in Asia and Africa (well, in Russia, of course, especially since our prices for domestic flights are the same as in the USA).

In what cases will it not be possible to save money using the “difficult route”?

In some cases, it will still not be possible to apply a complex route:

      1. If you are a fan of flying to a city, staying there for 3 weeks, and then flying back home. In this case, naturally, a difficult route will not help you.
      2. If in your route between populated areas it is more expedient to move not sequentially (i.e. flew to point A, from there went to B, from there swam to C, etc.), but radially (flew to point A and from there you make forays there -back to B, C, D, etc.).
      3. If you are planning to travel around a small region and are not going to travel far from the city of arrival. For example, if you decide to see Bavaria, then when you fly to Munich, it will be more expedient to fly from Munich rather than from Frankfurt am Main.
      4. If during your journey you have climbed into such wilds where neither planes fly nor ships sail. In this case, there are serious doubts that the search engine will be able to find you any air tickets.

In all other cases, you can use this method and save a lot.

Algorithm for purchasing an air ticket on a complex route?

Here are the search results. If you like something, click on “Buy for .....” to begin the standard ticket purchasing procedure. In terms of cheapness, the example is not entirely successful, I just needed to demonstrate how to look for tickets on a complex route.

Now you know how easy it is to find and buy air tickets with a complex route, as well as how to search so that the “complex route” is more profitable than simple round-trip tickets.
