The Gorki Gorod ski complex is the Gornaya Karusel ski complex, which consists of cable cars and ski slopes that fit perfectly into the landscape of the northern slope of Aibga. The length of the trails is 25 km, and among them there are slopes designed for both beginners and experienced athletes. “Mountain Carousel” has three transfer stages located at 960, 1460 and 2200 meters above sea level and extensive skiing areas equipped at altitudes from 960 to 2300 meters. In the transfer zones there are observation decks, cafes, restaurants and many other resort infrastructure facilities.
Lifts
The resort is equipped with 12 chairlifts and gondolas, with a total length of 10 km. Since the “Mountain Carousel” occupies three transfer steps, it is convenient to get to them using modern lifts that meet all international requirements and standards.
The most famous ski lifts at the resort:
- “Carousel -1” (gondola) length 2341 m, at an altitude of 540-960 meters above sea level;
- “Carousel -2” (gondola) length 1551 m, at an altitude of 960-1460 meters above sea level;
- “Carousel -3” (gondola) length 2370 m, at an altitude of 1460-2200 meters above sea level;
- “Carousel -8” (chairlift) length 1379 m, at an altitude of 960-1168 meters above sea level;
- “Carousel -15” (chairlift) at an altitude of 2200-2050 meters above sea level;
- "Carousel -16" (chairlift) at an altitude of 2050-2300 meters above sea level.
Trails
The resort has 25 km of international-level ski slopes, which are suitable for both beginners and sporting competitions of the highest level. The total area of slopes equipped for alpine skiing and snowboarding is 1.5 million square meters. m.
In total, on the territory of the “Mountain Carousel” there are:
- 2 “Green” routes;
- 5 “Blue” trails;
- 13 “Red” routes;
- 3 “Black” routes.
Ski passes
In the summer, the price of tickets for the Gornaya Karusel ski lifts includes a lift without equipment to explore the surrounding area of the resort. Purchased bike passes make it possible to climb along with sports equipment (bicycle) to the starting point of descent from the slope.
In winter, ski passes are available to resort guests for different periods, including discounted ones for the elderly (60 years and older), disabled people of groups II and III, and for accompanying disabled people of group I. Free entry to the ski lifts is provided to children under 6 years old, disabled people of group I, people over 75 years old, veterans and disabled people of the Great Patriotic War. A child ticket is valid for children from 6 to 15 years old; from 15 years old an adult ticket is purchased.
Rental
At the Gorki Gorod resort there are several rental points where vacationers can rent equipment for outdoor activities, including skis, snowboards, mountain bikes, equipment and much more. To do this, you need to leave a passport or driver's license as collateral, as well as money, which is returned after the tourist rents out all the equipment.

Ropeways (characteristics, operating mode)
They work at our resort 13 lifts, of which 4 are gondola, 7 are chair and 2 are rope tow. The total capacity of all cable cars is 2,400 people per hour.
For your convenience, our resort is divided into Central and Eastern sectors. The main lift is three stages in the Central sector of the Main Cable Car with 8-seater gondolas (K-1, K-2 and K-3), which lift to an altitude of +2200 meters above sea level.
Three more chairlifts (K-4, K-5 and K-6) operate in the Circus-2 and Circus-3 ski areas. Circus-2 is located at an altitude of about +2000 m under the Black Pyramid mountain (2375 m is the highest point in the resort). Circus 3 is right behind it. There is also a chairlift (K-8) from the Upper Town station at +960 m, which takes you to a height of 1130 m.
You can get to the Eastern sector from the Upper City station at +960 m on K-10.
Observation platforms are located at altitudes: +960 m, +1460 m, +2200 m.

Ski slopes of the resort
general characteristics
Our resort has ski slopes of varying difficulty levels total length about 30 km from an altitude of +2340 m to +960 m.
Illuminated routes with a total length of about 3 km, evening skiing from +1460 m to +960 m.
Trails with artificial snow with a total length of 4.9 km from +1500 m to +960 m, 64 snow cannons.
Difficulty level: 11 blue, 2 green, 14 red, 5 black. 4 freeride zones.
Ski season: from December to May.
The third stage of the Main Cable Car, which starts from the top of +2200 m, is suitable for confident skiers and snowboarders; the second stage (+1460 m) has trails of medium difficulty and an excellent training track for beginners.
Under Circus 2 there is a ramp to the Eastern Sector ski area. In the upper part of the Eastern sector there are difficult red tracks, in the lower part there are green and blue tracks that are convenient for training.
Work is provided
Evening skiing in winter
From 1460 m to 960 m.
For evening skiing, the following tracks are available: “blue” 2B and 8E, “green” (8A), which are equipped with an artificial snowmaking and lighting system, which makes evening skiing enjoyable and safe.
During the evening skiing period, you can also use the drag ropeway (K-9) with a length of about 300 m, which is most suitable for beginners.
Black tracks
The climate of Krasnaya Polyana is ideal for lovers of powder: soft, without severe frosts, and at the same time with heavy, prolonged snowfalls. Their peak, as a rule, occurs at the end of January - beginning of February.
This year the resort has allocated four freeride zones: two in the Central and two in the Eastern sector of the resort. All of them are located above 1000 meters above sea level, where the softest and fluffiest snow is. These sections are very difficult and unpredictable and can only be ridden with special training.
Attention!
We do not recommend trying your hand at black trails and freeride areas for those who have recently started riding. You risk not being able to cope with a difficult area, which can be fraught with various injuries. There are many dangers here that we never tire of warning our guests about.
Most routes end in drops and rocks, so before you set off on them, you need to know the exits that you can use. For this purpose, novice riders need to contact professional off-piste instructors, who are offered by the resort's accredited instructor schools. Their services cost from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles per person per day, including training and equipment.
We remind you that under no circumstances should you drive in an unknown direction following someone’s trail. This mark on the descent could have been left by a resort employee who knows the area well and is much better prepared than you.
If you want to be the first to ski on fresh snow immediately after a snowfall, then choose a hotel in the Upper Town. You can climb to the beginning of the descent directly from the hotel - just like returning from the mountain - right to the doorstep. The lifts start operating at 9:00, so you can start your descent as early as 9:15-9:20.
Gorki Bike Park trails
The trails are laid at an altitude of 960 to 540 meters above sea level. The total length of downhill trails is more than 7 km with a height difference of 340 m.
In Gorki Bike Park, the tracks are of green, blue and black difficulty levels with well-developed blinkers, drops, counter slopes, sharp turns and rhythm sections.
Green route: 6 green bay.
Blue trails: 1 Bear's Corner, 3 Crimean Trip, 4 Nizhny Dorblu, 5 Dorblu, 7 Dining room.
Black route: 2 Blackberries.
Walking routes along eco-trails
In the summer season, our resort opens walking eco-routes for traveling to hard-to-reach places in the Krasnaya Polyana mountains. Pedestrian tourist routes are located at an altitude of +960 m to +2200 m above sea level.
To climb the eco-routes, you must purchase a walking ticket for the cable car to the corresponding mark at the resort ticket office.

For your convenience, our resort is divided into Central and Eastern sectors. The main lift is three stages in the Central sector of the Main Cable Car with 8-seater gondolas (K-1, K-2 and K-3), which lift to an altitude of +2200 meters above sea level.
Three more chairlifts (K-4, K-5 and K-6) operate in the Circus-2 and Circus-3 ski areas. Circus-2 is located at an altitude of about +2000 m under the Black Pyramid mountain (2375 m is the highest point in the resort). Circus 3 is right behind it. There is also a chairlift (K-8) from the Upper Town station at +960 m, which takes you to a height of 1130 m.
You can get to the Eastern sector from the Upper City station at +960 m on K-10.
Observation platforms are located at altitudes: +960 m, +1460 m, +2200 m.

Ski slopes of the resort
general characteristics
Our resort has ski slopes of varying difficulty levels total length about 30 km from an altitude of +2340 m to +960 m.
Illuminated routes with a total length of about 3 km, evening skiing from +1460 m to +960 m.
Trails with artificial snow with a total length of 4.9 km from +1500 m to +960 m, 64 snow cannons.
Difficulty level: 11 blue, 2 green, 14 red, 5 black. 4 freeride zones.
Ski season: from December to May.
The third stage of the Main Cable Car, which starts from the top of +2200 m, is suitable for confident skiers and snowboarders; the second stage (+1460 m) has trails of medium difficulty and an excellent training track for beginners.
Under Circus 2 there is a ramp to the Eastern Sector ski area. In the upper part of the Eastern sector there are difficult red tracks, in the lower part there are green and blue tracks that are convenient for training.

Evening skiing in winter
From 1460 m to 960 m.
For evening skiing, the following tracks are available: “blue” 2B and 8E, “green” (8A), which are equipped with an artificial snowmaking and lighting system, which makes evening skiing enjoyable and safe.
During the evening skiing period, you can also use the drag ropeway (K-9) with a length of about 300 m, which is most suitable for beginners.
Black tracks
The climate of Krasnaya Polyana is ideal for lovers of powder: soft, without severe frosts, and at the same time with heavy, prolonged snowfalls. Their peak, as a rule, occurs at the end of January - beginning of February.
This year the resort has allocated four freeride zones: two in the Central and two in the Eastern sector of the resort. All of them are located above 1000 meters above sea level, where the softest and fluffiest snow is. These sections are very difficult and unpredictable and can only be ridden with special training.
Attention!
We do not recommend trying your hand at black trails and freeride areas for those who have recently started riding. You risk not being able to cope with a difficult area, which can be fraught with various injuries. There are many dangers here that we never tire of warning our guests about.
Most routes end in drops and rocks, so before you set off on them, you need to know the exits that you can use. For this purpose, novice riders need to contact professional off-piste instructors, who are offered by the resort's accredited instructor schools. Their services cost from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles per person per day, including training and equipment.
We remind you that under no circumstances should you drive in an unknown direction following someone’s trail. This mark on the descent could have been left by a resort employee who knows the area well and is much better prepared than you.
If you want to be the first to ski on fresh snow immediately after a snowfall, then choose a hotel in the Upper Town. You can climb to the beginning of the descent directly from the hotel - just like returning from the mountain - right to the doorstep. The lifts start operating at 9:00, so you can start your descent as early as 9:15-9:20.
Gorki Bike Park trails
The trails are laid at an altitude of 960 to 540 meters above sea level. The total length of downhill trails is more than 7 km with a height difference of 340 m.
In Gorki Bike Park, the tracks are of green, blue and black difficulty levels with well-developed blinkers, drops, counter slopes, sharp turns and rhythm sections.
Green route: 6 green bay.
Blue trails: 1 Bear's Corner, 3 Crimean Trip, 4 Nizhny Dorblu, 5 Dorblu, 7 Dining room.
Black route: 2 Blackberries.
Walking routes along eco-trails
In the summer season, our resort opens walking eco-routes for traveling to hard-to-reach places in the Krasnaya Polyana mountains. Pedestrian tourist routes are located at an altitude of +960 m to +2200 m above sea level.
To climb the eco-routes, you must purchase a walking ticket for the cable car to the corresponding mark at the resort ticket office.

Gorki Gorod is one of three modern ski resorts in Krasnaya Polyana. The other two resorts are Rosa Khutor and Gazprom. The most popular is the Rosa Khutor resort, but the resort owes its popularity to its marketing program. All three resorts have developed infrastructure, a network of cable cars, many ski slopes on the slopes, hotels, restaurants and shops. But you can ride on the cable cars of the Gorki Gorod resort all day and still won’t have enough time to see all the sights. We will introduce you to the sights of the Gorki Gorod ski resort, tell you where it is better to stay at the resort, what kind of entertainment and infrastructure there is.
How to get to the Gorki Gorod resort
You can get to the Gorki Gorod resort by personal transport and public transport. We will not traditionally consider personal transport; we will focus on other options:
- High-speed train "Swallow". This is the fastest way to get to the ski resort. The train begins its journey in Sochi, passes through Adler and takes you along the Mzymta River gorge into the mountains to the ski resorts of Greater Sochi. The stops along the route are as follows:
Sochi - Matsesta - Khosta - Adler - Esto-Sadok - Rosa Khutor. Average travel time is 1 hour 20 minutes. The cost of a ticket for the Lastochka train is from 355 rubles. Train schedule Sochi-Rosa Khutor. - Bus. There is a bus from Sochi from the Moremall stop and from Adler from the Railway Station stop to Rosa Khutor No. 105 and 105c. Ticket price 232 rubles. Travel time will be from 2 to 3 hours, depending on whether you take the fast bus 105s or regular 105 . Bus No. 105 makes 10-15 more stops than bus No. 105c.
- Taxi. A taxi from Sochi or Adler to Gorka Gorod will cost from 1000 rubles, but if you wait for fellow travelers, you will only have to pay for one seat from 250-400 rubles per person. This is comparable to the price of an electric train, and the travel time also corresponds to Lastochka. So do not neglect the services of local taxi drivers.
Infrastructure of Gorki Gorod
“Gorki Gorod” is a small modern village in the mountains. Its infrastructure is developed no worse than that of European resorts. There are small shops and entire supermarkets, a lot of entertainment from a cinema to bicycle and ATV rentals. 
If you book accommodation on the second stage of the cable car, such offers are available in Gorki Gorod (Upper City +960 m) and in Rosa Khutor (Rosa Plateau 1170 m), you will not have to pay for the lift each time. All guests of high-altitude hotels are issued passes for the cable car. You will make the first ascent using your hotel reservation, and then at the hotel you will receive a subscription for the daily descent and ascent. If you want to go to the very top, in this case you will have to buy a full walking ticket. 
Hotels
The number of rooms at the ski resort is huge. You can verify this by looking offers from Booking. The most common accommodation option in Gorki Gorod is apartments. This settlement option is good for several reasons. Firstly, there are really a lot of buildings with apartments, they are divided into sectors: Green, Blue, Red and Yellow. Secondly, apartments differ from hotel rooms in the presence of a full kitchen, where you can prepare breakfast, lunch or dinner from products purchased at the local supermarket and significantly save on going to restaurants. The hotels are located both on the first level (540 meters) and on the second (960 meters). 
Entertainment at Gorki Gorod
With the winter seasons, everything is more or less clear; skiers and snowboarders can spend whole days skiing on the modern slopes of the ski resort. What to do at the resort if you come here in the summer? You won't be bored at Gorki Gorod.
The center of the Gorki Gorod resort is the shopping and entertainment center Gorki Gorod Mall. There is a 4-hall cinema "Starcinema". The repertoire and show times can be viewed at official website of the cinema. The second main attraction of the Gorki Gorod Mall shopping center is the water park. The water park is located on the upper level of the center. The cost of a child ticket is 800 rubles, an adult ticket is 1300. On weekends and holidays, fares increase. The grocery segment in the shopping center is represented by the Perekrestok brand, the hypermarket is located on the ground floor. In addition to everything that can usually be found in shopping centers that you need, Gorki Gorod Mall has a pharmacy and several ATMs: Sberbank, VTB 24, Raiffeisen Bank. Cellular communications in the shopping and entertainment center are provided by Svyaznoy and Euroset branches. Sportswear and sports accessories can be purchased in stores such as Sportmaster, Kant and some others located in the Gorki Gorod Mall.
There is a Sochi Casino in Gorki Gorod. The casino in Gorki Gorod can be visited by anyone over the age of eighteen. This became possible due to the fact that Krasnaya Polyana is one of the gaming zones in Russia.
The main attraction of Gorki Gorod is the Gornaya Karusel cable car. A cascade of lifts will gradually lift you to an altitude of 960 meters above sea level to the “Upper City”, then 1460 meters and finally to an altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. At the top, there are two more cable cars operating in excursion mode, which will gradually take you to the foot of the Black Pyramid rock. The height of the Black Pyramid peak is 2375 meters.
Entertainment in the Upper Town
The main entertainment at the Upper Town level is the mountain bike trails. The Gorki Bike Park is located here. You can rent a bicycle right here at the resort, and you can use the cable car an unlimited number of times. Cycling trails range in difficulty, from easy to difficult. In addition to the Bike Park, there is a Husky Center, where you can take an excursion, and in winter even go dog sledding. 
Ecological routes
Ecological routes in Gorki Gorod are a special pleasure. Walking through a real forest and admiring the amazing panoramas of the mountains, what could be better? You can do this all day long, and don’t forget that walking is good for your health. 
There are several ecological routes on the slopes. The most popular route among tourists is the Polikarya Falls route. It is located at an altitude of 1450 meters. The K13 lift takes you as close as possible to a height of 1370 meters. 
From here you will have to go up another 80 meters. 
The journey will take about 30 minutes. Do not forget that in the midst of summer the intensity of the water flow decreases very much, leaving only a small stream, since the main flow of water is formed by melting snow. At an altitude of 1460 meters there is an eco-trail “Relic Forest” and a rope park. At an altitude of 2200 m, several more eco-trails are available: “Alpine Meadows” and “Bear Waterfall”. The Bear waterfall is visible from the K4 ski lift, so you can independently assess whether it is worth going down to it or not.
Another route is climbing the Black Pyramid. Climbing requires some skill, insurance, and the watchful eye of an instructor. Everything except the first one will be provided to you at the upper station of the K5 cable car. This is the only one of the Gorki Gorod ecological routes that is paid separately. 
Brief description of the Gorki Gorod ski complex
The all-season and mountain resort "Gorki Gorod" is located in the foothills of the Main Caucasus Range, on the territory of the famous Krasnaya Polyana of Greater Sochi. The high level of service, architectural sophistication and picturesque landscapes of the natural reserve attract hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world to the resort every year. The resort is already 15 years old - long before the Olympics, the administration of the Krasnodar region and a group of private investors launched a project to create and develop the Mountain Carousel ski complex!
At the time of the start of preparations for the city of Sochi for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the Gornaya Karusel resort was the largest ski resort in Krasnaya Polyana. Its territory alone made it possible to build an entire city (buildings with a total area of almost 600 thousand square meters) and provide accommodation for Olympic participants in almost 3 thousand rooms. Therefore, in 2010, the Gorki Gorod project successfully passed the state examination and received a construction permit.
Total area of the resort: 863.7 hectares at elevations from +540m to +2200m above sea level.
Today Gorki Gorod is not just a ski resort. This is a whole city with a full-fledged infrastructure, in which hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over Russia and from abroad vacation throughout the year.
In general, the infrastructure of "Gorki Gorod" is located on four levels: at altitudes of +540m - "Lower City", +960m - "Upper City", +1500m and +2200m - cable cars, ski slopes, excursion objects and routes. The highest point of descent is the Black Pyramid peak of the Aibga ridge, +2340m above sea level.
The "Lower" and "Upper" levels of the city are connected by road and cable cars.
