Sedentary, compartment, SV, soft) another one has been added - luxury. This highest level comfort. The luxury carriage of Russian Railways is everything a passenger could wish for on the road. This one offers VIP treatment. Few people yet know what is hidden under the term “Russian Railways luxury car”. Let's try to understand what this is. The cars themselves qualify as soft, but have a different arrangement than those that have been known to Russians since Soviet times. They contain from 4 to 6 compartments. Service classes are designated accordingly: 4-compartment - 1A, 5-compartment - 1I, 6-compartment - 1M. Otherwise, these rolling stock are called luxury cars. There, comfort is formed on the “all inclusive” principle, that is, the ticket price includes travel to the destination station, meals, various amenities and other benefits.

The living space of the compartment is equipped with an individual air conditioning system (with the possibility of heating the room), there is a radio, TV and DVD player. The luxury carriage is equipped with individual safes for storing valuables. The passenger can call the conductor with a special call. Each compartment has two sleeping places, one of which (1.2 meters wide) turns into a sofa. The second place is 0.9 meters wide - this is the traditional “second shelf”. In 4-compartment carriages there is a lounge bar where you can drink tea, coffee, soft and alcoholic drinks.

Photos testify to its comfort and design delights.

Conditions for purchasing tickets

Tickets for luxury carriages of Russian Railways are purchased under slightly different conditions than for others. Firstly, the coupe in it is sold entirely under one name. Thus, the possibility of random fellow travelers on the road is completely excluded. But, although one person buys a ticket, two people can travel in a compartment. The second person does not have travel documents. A child can also travel in the compartment. On domestic trains - up to 10 years, and, for example, in Helsinki - up to 6 years. In the direction of Berlin, Paris or Nice, you can buy the entire compartment, or you can buy just a seat in it. What are the differences in comfort class?

From SV and coupe

When purchasing a ticket online, you can see that all carriages correspond to a certain class. The class is indicated by a number and one consonant or vowel letter (for example, 1K, 2C, etc.).

Let's look at the Luxury classes:

As you can see, the classes differ mainly only in the number of compartments, but otherwise the services provided are almost identical.

From NE

  1. Shower and toilet are in the compartment, while in the SV there are 2-3 bathrooms for the entire car.
  2. Air conditioning is also individual, and not general, as in SV.
  3. Fewer coupes. In “Lux” their number varies from 4 to 6, in SV – from 9 to 16.

From the compartments

  1. There is a guarantee of the presence of a dry toilet.
  2. In the compartments large quantity places- from 30 to 40, but this is justified by the fact that there are 4 passengers in each compartment, which negatively affects comfort during the trip.
  3. Nutrition. In “Lux”, meals are included in the price of travel., and in the compartment it is present only in classes 2E and 2B.
  4. Access. Access to the “Lux” is limited to outsiders, and in the compartment the passage is free.

What is included in the price of a train ticket?

Let's take a closer look at what is included in the service of Lux cars:

On what formulations is premium available?

Basically, such cars are included in trains long distance and tourist, as well as branded and expensive ones, aimed at the expensive segment of the market.

Such cars are almost never seen on trains that travel through remote parts of Russia, but it is quite possible that the situation will soon change, and even remote corners of our country will know what it’s like on a Russian Railways train.

Thus, we figured out the features of “Lux” and learned its main differences from other types. We can safely say that the name speaks for itself - it is really intended for the expensive segment and well-off passengers and correspond to this title unconditionally.

The SV-class carriage is a premium offer (the abbreviation stands for “Sleeping Car”). It differs from reserved seat and compartment seats in that one compartment isolated by doors is shared by only two people. Also, speaking about CB train tickets, what they are, one cannot fail to mention additional services.

Some routes also offer meals and a robe and slippers to make you feel almost at home. On some branded trains, passengers have access to the latest press and are provided with free access to the Wi-Fi network, which can simply be called an invaluable “plus” - communication on the road, as we know, constantly disappears, and having access to the Internet makes it possible to work, solve business problems, watch movies and read while traveling and, of course, communicate in the usual ways.

How much does a SV train ticket cost?

As follows from what we talked about above, the price of the trip will differ significantly from others. The cost of train tickets is significantly higher than in second-class and compartment carriages. In some cases it varies by 20%. Also, the fare naturally varies depending on the distance. For example, tickets for the Moscow-Vladivostok train to SV will cost about 27,000 rubles.

But a special type of CB tickets is the “luxury” class. The service here is even more exclusive: some carriages (depending on the date of assembly) are equipped with a shower, and the price includes drinks, incl. and alcoholic drinks, which can be delivered from the dining car throughout the route. Not every ordinary tourist can afford to buy a “luxury”: such a trip can cost more than a plane flight. Therefore, the most pressing question before purchasing a carriage in SV or luxury: is the cost of the ticket justified or is it better to fly?

How can I purchase train tickets for the SV carriage?

There are two options: you can go to the station and buy a paper boarding pass there or book your trip online. You can buy train tickets for the SV-car on the website. Thanks to the user-friendly interface, this is easy to do in just a few clicks. At the same time, the price of a train ticket for the SV carriage includes a small site commission for service.

To complete the process, you will not need anything other than your passport data. At the same time, after a ticket is booked, there is an opportunity not to pay for it for some time: the client is given time to think. The service also gives you the opportunity to get your money back if your plans change.

- this is a luxury car, which is usually rented by artists, politicians, officials and VIPs.

Conductors undergo special training, receiving the title “I Class Conductor” to work with VIP passengers.

It differs from the others in having fewer windows and their larger size. Entry to outsiders is prohibited.

The ticket is purchased in one name, thus excluding strangers in the same compartment.

Depending on the modification there may be 6, 5 or 4 compartments. In the latter case, passengers are provided with a bar. The compartment is designed for 2 seats: a wide sofa bed 120 cm wide and a hanging shelf 90 cm wide.

The situation can be compared to hotel room three star hotel
. There is a comfortable corner chair and a folding table. Passengers are offered an audio and video system, radio, Internet access (Wi-Fi), and LCD TV.

A separate climate control system is provided for each box.

Hot and cold water supply is provided here, which made it possible to create bathrooms and a shower room in each compartment. The bathrooms are equipped with heated floors, a vacuum toilet, and a washbasin.

The interior looks very presentable. Valuable wood and artificial stone are used in the decoration.

IMPORTANT: When purchasing a ticket, it is important to know that SV also belongs to the category of increased comfort. It's easy for an inexperienced passenger to make mistakes. The ticket will be distinguished by the letter “M” (soft). Without it, the coupe will be equivalent to the SV.

Its differences from SV

Main differences:

  1. Shower room, not just a bathroom.
  2. Individual air conditioning.
  3. The number of passenger boxes is 4-6, SV – 8-10.
  4. Entry to outsiders is prohibited.
  5. Differences in the interior.
