For three years, friends went to Zatoka, and we all turned our noses up. But this year the wallet got a little thinner, and we decided to take a chance with the children, and even by car. Travel like that!

Zatoka - a narrow strip of landbetween the Black Sea and the Dniester estuary. Therefore, it is almost impossible to live far from the water: a step to the right is an estuary, a step to the left is the sea, and in the middle is a highway of regional importance.

Zatoka is conventionally divided into three districts

Central (actually, the village of Zatoka), Solnechny and Limansky (the village of Karolino-Bugaz is also secretly included in it).

In terms of tourist activity, Solnechnaya is more like a residential area, and Central is truly the center of celebrations and traffic jams: the beach is narrow, there is a store on top of a store, a bunch of cafes and trucks, past which people dart, since this is the only road along the coast.

So it’s unsettling to walk there with children, especially the nimble ones.

Entertainment is just a stone's throw away, and the rhythm of tourist life does not affect children in any way- You can go into silence at any time.

In 5 minutes you will reach all the benefits of the tourist world on Limanskaya, while retaining the right to a quiet holiday that is safe for your wallet.

Housing and food in Zatoka and Karolino-Bugaz are more expensive than in Odessa, but doable.

Some even managed to take a minibus to buy groceries in Odessa at Privoz. But this is a dubious pleasure and savings, in my opinion.

The widest beaches of Zatoka are on Limanskaya, and the wild beaches of Karolino-Bugaz are not only wide, but also empty - even play volleyball.

Sand spit - our choice

There is even a sand spit: It is very shallow, but there are no algae.

Algae is the main drawback of Zatoka beaches - “seaweed soup”...

The sea is shallow so you don’t have to keep your children on a leash a meter from the shore - there is somewhere for them to run around in the water.

The sand is fine, sprinkled with shells to the delight of children.

Entertainment in Zatoka

On the wide Limanskaya beach there is for children inflatable slides at a price of 10 UAH (80 kopecks) for the descent, swimming pool (40 UAH for 15 minutes - 3.2 BYN, 60 UAH for 30 minutes - 4.8 BYN, 100 UAH for 1 hour - 8 BYN and 200 UAH for the whole day - 16 BYN), “bananas”, boats and even photos with black Ukrainian natives of the African-American race.

If you decide to go to the center of Zatoka at 11 am, then most likely you will stand in traffic for a couple of hours before reaching the bridge, and then give up and go back to your beach.

The road is narrow, the trucks are large, they pass one by one, and even with the help of the traffic police.

And running along Central Zatoka across the roads is quite dangerous, and parking is simply aerobatics.

Although you can go and go broke and bump into the crowd once or twice, which is what we did . But it's better to leave after lunch.

Living in Karolino-Bugaz, it was possible to alternate going to the wild and resort beaches, thereby at least somehow controlling the budget.

On Limanskaya there is amusement park with attractions, however, very modest, smoothly transitioning into the market.

Nearest cultural attraction - excursion to the Belgorod-Dniester fortress Akkerman 20 km from Zatoka. There you can also see the excavations of the ancient city of Tire (5th century BC).

Even without a car you can get there by minibus. There you can walk along the stone walls and go down into the dungeon.

Bows and arrows made from wood, crossbows, shields, swords, maces, etc. are also sold there. It’s a paradise for boys, but my girl also asked for a bow, which she still runs around with.

We were lucky to get to the knight festival "Mon Castro" in the fortress, where you could shoot with a real bow and crossbow, watch knightly battles and taste historical cuisine.

True, a fortress dungeon and an exhibition of instruments of torture are not at all childish entertainment, but my daughter still went to look and educate herself for her pocket money (5 UAH - 40 kopecks). I had to join (for 10 UAH - 80 kopecks).

It was also possible to go to Odessa, either independently or organized. True, this is already 60 km, not 20, but on an excursion to the Odessa water park they call you at every step.

In general, even despite the algae, the holiday was moderately quiet, harmonious and much cheaper than expected.

The recreation center "Karolinka" is located right next to the sea with a wide sandy beach and a gentle entrance; the beach is equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas, mattresses, and beach towels. The beach strip reaches 150 meters. For children on the beach there is a special shade area with toys for playing in the sand. Also, sleeves, circles, vests, and swimming goggles are provided for children; Children's animation is regularly held.

The recreation center is located away from the noisy center. The territory of "Karolinka" is large and well landscaped. During the arrangement, original ideas were used that distinguish it from other recreation centers: numerous alleys, gazebos, streams, an abundance of greenery and flowers create a cozy environment conducive to relaxation.

The territory has its own swimming pool with a children's section, which allows parents vacationing with their children to relax in a comfortable environment while the children can frolic in the water at a safe depth. There is also a children's and sports ground, tennis and billiards tables. Next to the outdoor pool there is a restaurant where you can order food and drinks à la carte. Grilled dishes and a children's menu are available.

The rooms have all the amenities: air conditioning, refrigerator, LED TV, bathroom, towel sets; Cold and hot water round the clock.

The restaurant serves set breakfasts, which are included in the price of your stay. For breakfast, a wide selection is offered: porridge, muesli, yoghurt, pancakes, casseroles, cheesecakes and egg dishes. Also, the main restaurant offers set lunches and dinners, which can be ordered any day. For those who purchase meals for the entire period of stay, a special price is provided. Once a week, the chef prepares unique dishes for hotel guests.

The territory of the recreation center is closed: entry and exit using electronic bracelets, which makes it safe to stay on the hotel premises and prevents access by unauthorized persons.
