Kerch village traps. Kapkany microdistrict, Republic of Crimea, Russia. The history of the village of Kapkany

Many tourists choose the large port city of Kerch for a holiday in Crimea. And it’s not just about the cultural, historical and architectural monuments that glorified this place, which was inhabited in ancient times. What makes the resort attractive are the numerous beaches from which you can choose a corner to suit your taste. There are both well-maintained and wild, and combining signs of both.

Kapkany Beach has bypassed all manifestations of the recreational business, although it is located near an entire residential neighborhood and has many advantages. Perhaps it is precisely thanks to the lack of civilization that it remains so quiet, clean and popular among savages.

Peculiarities

The best time to visit Kerch is July and August, when the water is warmest. But if you sacrifice a few degrees and come here in late spring or early autumn, then it is quite possible to find the beaches completely deserted. This story concerns primarily “Traps”. It already cannot boast of being crowded even during the peak season, which is why it is considered the cleanest. The reason for this is a somewhat steep bank and a large area compared to other recreation areas: the length reaches 2.5 kilometers and the width is 15 meters.

But not all of this territory is suitable for accommodation: in some places the strip of shore narrows to a minimum, and in some places it is overgrown with reeds. The main thing is to successfully decide on a parking spot so that you can grab the velvety yellow sand and find a convenient entrance to the water.

In general, the bottom is flat and flat, not covered with algae. There are no jellyfish here either, so feel free to take your children with you on vacation. Another plus is that the bay is closed. It is protected from strong gusts of wind and high waves by two capes located on the edges - Zmeiny and Yenikale.

There are no rental sunbeds and umbrellas on the shore, no toilets, no changing cabins, no lifeguards, no doctors, and even less attractions. It’s easier to list what is there: “Traps” is a green beach surrounded by trees and shrubs. By the way, it will help solve a number of problems (without abuse, of course!), and everything else will need to be brought with you. Fortunately, there is a fairly developed private sector nearby, in which there are several shops with a variety of goods. It is also proposed to rent housing here, a five-minute walk from the sea. It will be much cheaper than in the center of Kerch, where you can go on an excursion at any time and then return back to this quiet place.

How to get there

It’s quite easy to get to the beach by using public transport (minibuses numbers 18 and 1) and getting to the Kapkany microdistrict. Get off at the stop "Enamelware Workshop" or "Stroygorodok".

View all hotels in the area on the map

Five nearby hotels are shown above. Among them there are both regular hotels and hotels with several stars, as well as cheap accommodation - hostels, apartments and guest houses. These are usually private economy class mini-hotels. The hostel is a modern hostel. An apartment is a private apartment for daily rent, and a guest house is a large private house, where the owners themselves usually live and rent out rooms for guests. You can rent a guest house with an all-inclusive service, a bathhouse and other attributes of a good holiday. Check with the owners for details here.

Usually hotels are located closer to the city center, including inexpensive ones, near the metro or train station. But if this is a resort area, then the best mini-hotels, on the contrary, are located further from the center - on the seashore or river bank.

This beautiful and very green city is comfortably located on the shore between the Black and Azov seas, on the Crimean peninsula. The former capital of the Bosporus Kingdom, the modern city of Kerch is very popular. This is the largest industrial settlement of the peninsula, and most importantly, a famous Crimean resort that attracts millions of vacationers.

Rest

Kerch is one of the oldest cities on the peninsula, so here you can easily combine a beach holiday with an excursion and educational one. There are many natural, cultural and historical monuments in the city and its surroundings. Among them are the Great Mithridates Staircase, excavations of the ancient city of Panticapaeum and a more modern historical monument - the Obelisk of Glory.

Both adults and school-age children will be interested in visiting the Royal Mound with the tomb of the ruler of the Bosporan state, as well as two ancient settlements that are located east of Panticapaeum, Ottoman Kerch, which was built in the 19th century.

You can visit the Adzhimushkai quarries, which make a great impression on all guests. Lovers of religious buildings will also not be disappointed by the city of Kerch. Here is the oldest temple of St. John the Baptist on the peninsula, a recognized monument of Byzantine architecture.

Well, for everyone who comes on vacation with children and just wants to unwind, we recommend going to the Exotic ostrich breeding farm or visiting the unique museum of marine fauna and flora.

Beaches of Kerch

And although the city really has many attractions, tourists, as a rule, are very interested in the beaches of Kerch (reviews confirm this). In the city and its immediate surroundings there are both beautifully developed coastal areas with well-developed infrastructure, and almost wild ones, where people who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the big city like to relax.

Kerch: city beach

In 2011, the city beach was reconstructed and given the name Sun Dali. It should be noted that it was among the twenty best beaches on the peninsula. But in Crimea there are over 500 of them.

Sun Dali is located on the outskirts of the city, so it is better to go here by minibus. According to townspeople, this is the most equipped and attractive beach in the city. Here, vacationers are provided with fresh water showers, changing cabins, and toilets. There is a cafe-bar on site.

Most guests coming to Kerch must visit the city beach. It is very wide, sandy, with a flat bottom. Guests are offered a variety of water activities, and you can rent everything you need for water sports. Inflatable slides and other attractions are installed on the beach that will be interesting not only for children, but also for adults.

"Moscow"

This beach is named after the street that ends right at the sea. It runs parallel to the coast and has several outlets to the sea. It must be said that vacationers coming to Kerch choose beaches both on the Black Sea coast and on the shores of the Azov Sea.

"Moskovsky" is considered one of the most well-equipped in the city. It belongs to the waters of the Azov Sea. The coastline is sandy, but the coast itself is rocky, with numerous boulders and rock formations. In July-August it is overgrown with grass. But vacationers consider this to be more of an advantage than a disadvantage: on the grass you can sit comfortably on a towel. And for those who want more comfort, you can rent an umbrella and a sun lounger at the rental point located on site.

There are changing rooms, showers, and toilets. Despite the well-developed infrastructure, on the outskirts of the beach you can find completely wild areas where there are very few vacationers. From here, it’s true, it’s a bit far from the showers, but it’s calmer here, there’s no noise and fuss. The beach is narrow, although on the second level (slightly above the coastal strip) there are permanent places with benches and tables. Here you can have a snack and even cook a barbecue during the day.

There is not much entertainment here, and this beach is not very suitable for families with very young children. The entrance to the water is gentle only in some places, but mostly it is quite steep. However, he also finds his admirers among those who come to Kerch. The beaches here are very different, so everyone can choose according to their own taste.

“Moskovsky” is usually preferred by those who do not like large crowds of tourists and appreciate the beauty of untouched nature.

Beach "Youth" (Kerch)

And this place is considered the greenest and most picturesque in the city. It is located in the area of the popular city park named after. Voykov, where not only city guests, but also local residents like to relax. You can walk straight from the park to the beach. Its name was not chosen by chance - young people really prefer to relax here, although older tourists will definitely like it here too.

In addition, families with children feel quite comfortable here. The gentle slope into the water and shallow depth, thanks to which the water warms up well, attract parents with little tourists here. The beach is small: its length is just over twenty meters and its width is about five. But this is quite enough to sit on a sun lounger, and on the second level, where there are tables, gazebos and barbecues, you can take a break from the hot sun and have a little snack.

To the left of the beach there is a large gazebo, which offers stunning views of the rocks and sea. You can get to Molodezhny by car. There is a guarded parking lot here

"Traps"

The beach received this name in honor of the microdistrict on the eastern outskirts of the city, where it is located on the shores of the warm Azov Sea. The coast here is high and quite steep, which is not very typical for a city like Kerch. The beaches, created by nature in some areas, are small but very cozy, covered with sand and shell rock. Most of them are narrow and short (from ten to one hundred meters).

The bottom is flat and level. Despite the fact that the Kapkana residential area is densely built up with private houses, there is practically no infrastructure here; these beaches can rather be called wild. Local residents do not rest here because the descent into the water is steep and often dangerous.

The beaches of Kerch are loved by many tourists and vacationers. At the same time, there are both well-equipped beaches with developed infrastructure, and wild ones, where you can retire from noisy neighbors and sunbathe in the lap of picturesque nature. Of the wild beaches of Kerch, it is worth stopping first at Kapkany beach. This beach is considered one of the cleanest in the city, but it is not equipped with any amenities. This fact is, in principle, quite strange - after all, the beach has an excellent coastal zone, with fine sand. The beach line is wide, when compared with other beaches of Kerch, the descent into the water is gentle.

Not only visiting tourists, but also local residents love to relax here - and this is an excellent indicator for the beach. With all this, there are no rental points for sun loungers or umbrellas, no changing rooms and showers, no shops and bars - all equipment, drinks and food will need to be taken with you. Even at the height of the season there is not a large influx of tourists here, the beach is not crowded. And at the beginning of the season - in May-June, as well as at the end of summer and September, the beach is completely empty and therefore very clean.

Kapkany beach is considered one of the cleanest in the city, but it is not equipped with any amenities.

The Kapkany beach got its name from the residential microdistrict in the vicinity of Kerch, along which it is located. In general, the length of the beach is about 2.5 km, although there will be fewer sections with convenient access to the water. The width of the beach reaches 15 m, which, compared to other beaches of Kerch, is quite a lot. However, the sandy strip is not so wide everywhere; a little further from the sea it is overgrown with grass, especially at the height of summer.

Kapkany Beach is green; there are bushes and trees on the coast under which you can sit in the shade. The sea itself is very clean, this also applies to the absence of seaweed in the water in the hot summer. You won’t see jellyfish here either, so you can safely go to Kapkany beach with small children. You just have to choose a site with a gentle slope into the sea. The Kapkany beach stretches between two capes - Zmeiny and Yenikale. They naturally limit the beach from strong winds and high waves, so the sea here is very calm.

The best time to visit the wild beaches of Kerch, in particular the Kapkany beach, are considered to be July and August, when the water in the sea warms up well.

The Kapkany beach belongs to the waters of the Azov Sea. You can rent housing close to the beach - in the Kapkana microdistrict itself. It will be much cheaper here than in the central part of Kerch. If you have time and desire, you can go on a tour of the Kapkany microdistrict, and after that, relax on the beach. There are several beautiful churches, as well as many shops where you can buy everything you need for a beach holiday, food and souvenirs.

Practical information

Getting to the Kapkani beach in Kerch is not difficult - the residential microdistrict Kapkani, stretching a little higher along the beach, will serve as your guide. You can get to the beach by public transport - you will need the stop "Enamelware Workshop" or "Stroygorodok", as well as by car or taxi. The beach is considered wild, so entry to it is free.

Address: Kerch, pos. Traps.

Kerch beaches are distinguished by a wide variety of recreational conditions: someone likes, and, most importantly, can afford, well-equipped beaches, with a developed resort infrastructure, replete with attractions and cafes. Others, on the contrary, like to relax and soak up the sun while listening to the sound of the surf, away from noisy crowds of tourists. Kapkany is just one of those beaches that are usually called wild. There are practically no amenities familiar to vacationers here, but it is known as one of the most comfortable and clean in Kerch. In addition, entry is free.

The beach got its name from the Kerch microdistrict, on the outskirts of which it is located. The beach line extends almost 2.5 kilometers along the coast, but it is worth considering that convenient access to the water is not available everywhere.

Kapkany - one of the best wild beaches of Kerch

This is exactly what many local residents think, and this is perhaps the most flattering and useful recommendation about it for tourists: who, if not the townspeople who have lived here all their lives, knows the most convenient, “secret” places for a beach holiday. Those who come to Kerch to relax in the summer, apparently, know almost nothing about Kapkans, at least here you won’t see close rows of sunbathers densely occupying all the space available for relaxation. According to regulars from the nearby microdistrict, during the low season there is practically no one here at all.

The beach in Kapkany is quite wide, on average 15 meters, so there is always plenty of space here, not only because it is sparsely populated. This distinguishes it from other Kerch beaches, the coastal sandy area of which is sometimes too narrow. Along the beach there are green areas with bushes and trees where you can sit in the shade.

Good choice for a family holiday

The sea on this beach is clean, there is not only no garbage, but also no algae. It is also important that jellyfish are not found here either, so small children can swim here without unnecessary stress. The location of the beach between two capes, Yeni-Kale and Zmeiny, protects it from strong winds and guarantees the absence of high waves. The sand here is fine and pleasant; sharp stones are rare.

In short, Kapkany is a good choice for a family holiday. Of course, due to the lack of infrastructure, you will have to take with you all the equipment you need, as well as food and drinks, but for those who love silence and solitude, this is a reasonable price to pay for peace. However, due to the fact that the beach is located next to residential areas, a lot can be bought in local shops, of which there are plenty on the streets of the area adjacent to the coastline.

Where is Kapkani Beach?

The beach is located on the coast of the Azov Sea, along the residential area of the same name Kapkany, located slightly above the beach. You can get here by car - the microdistrict can serve as a reference point, the direction to which any local resident will tell you. In addition, unlike other wild beaches, Kapkany can be reached by public transport to the Stroygorodok stop.
