It will not be difficult to navigate it, although it is in English. Symbols have been translated into Russian for ease of reference.

For autotourists, the Cyprus tourist map is very useful because it is an indispensable assistant on the road. Major and minor highways between small and large settlements are all before your eyes.

It shows motorways between the major cities of Cyprus. For example, we can see that you can get from the resort town of Paphos to another, no less resort town of Limassol, along the A6 highway.

Lovers of antiquity will find here the location of ancient monuments and antiquities of world cultural heritage protected by UNESCO. Castles and fortresses, museums and other attractions are also available.

You can easily find churches, temples, monasteries by the characteristic icon with a “cross” and the name, which is highlighted in red.

On the Cyprus tourist map you will find the location of municipal beaches and popular recreation areas - campsites and picnic areas.

What do you need to come to Cyprus?

  • Visa you need to get a preliminary one. It's free. See how to do this -
  • Insurance for those traveling abroad you can calculate -
  • Flights look to Larnaca airport (more flights there) or Paphos (not so popular) -
  • Hotels in the resorts of Cyprus, as well as all the information on them (available rooms, prices, reviews), tourists usually look at -
  • Apartments with a discount I usually look for -
  • Hostels- this is for those who do not have money for a hotel. The cheapest housing. The only cheaper option is a sunbed under an umbrella on the beach. If roommates don’t bother you, then look at the options for hostels in Cyprus -
  • Tours to Cyprus. Buy a tour from 60,000 rubles until 31.08 with a promo code AF1000kipros and get a RUB 1,000 discount -
  • Transfer You don’t need to go to the hotel if you are flying on a tour. As a rule, this service is included in the tour price. If this is not the case, then order a transfer in advance via the Internet. It is very convenient and cheaper than taking a taxi from the airport. You will be met at the airport and taken straight to your hotel doorstep -
  • Rent a Car- a very popular way to get around the island, so if you have a license, you can look at car rental prices -
  • Excursions from local residents with unusual routes, see -
  • Adapter for Cypriot sockets, which tourists use, can be bought in any store, but see what it looks like -

When traveling around the island, one of the useful items is a detailed map of Cyprus in Russian, which shows popular routes with attractions. You can buy them in almost any peripetero (small shops scattered throughout the island), the price ranges from 2.5 to 8 euros. However, such cards have a serious drawback - a huge amount of advertising, and the more Russified the publication, the more advertising there will be and the less really useful information.

There is a good option with which you can save about 20 euros. The fact is that many real estate agencies and development companies have stands where a detailed map of Cyprus with cities is often stored. You just need to go to the first office you come across and pick up a suitable card. Thus, you can get a whole set of all the cards you need for free. All beaches of Cyprus are also marked on the maps.

Another good way. After arriving at the airport, not far from the place where representatives of travel agencies are waiting for their tourists, there are often small stands where, among various papers, quite often there are unremarkable booklets containing very detailed maps of the cities of the island. All the villages of Cyprus are also marked on the map, so finding them in the future will not be difficult.

Map of Cyprus attractions

It is worth noting that it is almost impossible to get lost in Cyprus. All tourist routes are located near populated areas. It is enough to simply move along any road to access the sea, highway, or territories that were occupied by Turkey. Naturally, a special tourist map of Cyprus will help to avoid such difficulties.

The most popular resorts in Cyprus on the map:

  • luxury holiday: Paphos;
  • for youth: Paphos, Limassol, Ayia Napa;
  • family holidays: Protaras, Ayia Napa, Larnaca, Polis.

In the above resorts it is much easier to find people who know Russian at a conversational level. There are a lot of them among the service personnel; you can contact them in case of an emergency.

Sights of Cyprus resorts

All resorts have their own unique history. Attractions on the map of Cyprus are depicted with special care. This is done to make it easier for guests of the island to find them. Each resort has its own differences and interesting places that many tourists want to visit.

Pathos

Description

In the southwest of the island is the elite resort of Paphos. Among its features are:

  • unique rocky beaches (Coral Bay and Amalthia Beach);
  • many ancient temples;
  • The most comfortable conditions have been created for Russian-speaking guests.

Paphos is one of the best resorts to visit. The sights of Cyprus - ancient ruins, Royal Tombs, Catacombs of St. Solomonia, Bird Park are known far beyond the island. In addition, there are many options for active recreation and entertainment.

Ayia Napa

Description Attractions on the map

In the east of Cyprus, the main recreation area has become Ayia Napa, the capital of nightlife. Main features:

  • the best amber beaches (Nissi, Makronissos, Landos);
  • Azure sea;
  • opportunity to engage in diving, windsurfing and other water sports.

It is in Ayia Napa that the famous Cavo Greco park is located; all tourist routes direct to it. Even family tourists often come here on holiday, since there are places with active nightlife and entertainment, as well as quiet beaches where there are not too many people and you can spend your time peacefully.

Policy

Description Attractions on the map

In the northwestern part of the island is the small town of Polis, washed by the waters of the Gulf of Chrysochos. Main features:

  • fish fairs;
  • sports competitions on yachts;
  • local cuisine where you can try many local fish dishes.

Another advantage can be considered the close location to the Akamas Peninsula, where the reserve of the same name is located. Going there, tourists will be able to visit the legendary Baths of Aphrodite, as well as enjoy natural landscapes and look at local species of rare animals and plants.

Larnaca

Description Attractions on the map

In the southeast of Cyprus there is one of the most famous resorts - Larnaca.
This is practically the best place for a leisurely family vacation. Life here goes slowly and serenely. You can also highlight:

  • some of the best beaches on the island (Mackenzie, Golden Bay);
  • the presence of shipwrecks near the shore that divers can explore;
  • yacht club with headquarters at the Marina pier.

Larnaca is distinguished by its beautiful nature and rich leisure opportunities. From here you can reach almost anywhere on the island, which is why it is very popular.

Limassol

Description Attractions on the map

A small and cheerful city where Russian-speaking tourists feel best. Located in the south of the island. Among the interesting points worth highlighting:

  • Limassol is located between the ruins of two ancient cities;
  • many nightclubs;
  • golden beaches where many holidaymakers flock.

In September, a wine festival is held in Limassol, where tourists are offered to taste locally produced wines.

Nominally, the resorts of Polis and Latchi are located on the northern coast of Cyprus, but they are classified as the west coast, it’s simpler. There are about 30 full-fledged hotels in Polis, and only 2 in Latchi.

There are no significant sights here, there are no interesting entertainment facilities, there is not even anything really to talk about. For sights and entertainment, vacationers in Polis and Latchi go to Paphos by taxi or on a tour.

The southern coast is the most densely populated region and the economic and commercial center of the country. The city of Limassol is the second most populous city in Cyprus, the largest commercial port on the island and the capital of Cyprus in the Middle Ages.

On the southern coast there are two large resorts in Cyprus - Limassol and Larnaca, as well as the small resort of Pissouri.

Limassol

Limassol is a city with a population of about 160,000 people, which is 15% of the population of all Cyprus. Only the capital Nicosia has a larger population (about 200,000).

However, as a resort, Limassol is small, there are only about 50 full-fledged hotels, but there are a lot of apartments, villas and apartments for rent. If you are going to Limassol, we recommend that you first take a closer look at rented apartments; there are luxurious options right by the sea for a fee comparable to a hotel room.

Tourists are popular with walks around (Molos) and. You can see on your own, Limassol Castle, Archaeological Museum. Children will also be interested in the Limassol Zoo.

From Limassol it is convenient to go on excursions deep into Cyprus; the following are popular among tourists: Sanctuary of Apollo.

Larnaca

A small city with a population of about 50,000 people, but a fairly large resort, where there are about 50 full-fledged hotels and a well-developed tourist infrastructure. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants here, the beaches are well equipped, but the problem with places of entertainment is that there are almost none here. We can only remember the Camel Park and the small amusement parks Lucky Star and Hobos Amusement Spot.

Among the historical attractions in Larnaca we would like to note:, and.

The economy of the city of Larnaca consists almost entirely of the service sector, where 75% of the population works. In fact, all of Larnaca works only for tourism and tourists. This is a “tourist city” in every possible sense of the phrase.

Pissouri

A very small town with an official population of about 1000 people. Moreover, only half of them are Cypriots, the rest are foreigners who moved to Cyprus, mostly English.

There are only 14 full-fledged hotels here. There is almost no infrastructure for tourists. The resort of Pissouri is ideal for those who only need the beach, sea and sun, because there is simply nothing else here.

Fortunately, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants here, you won’t go hungry. But not every hotel has catering establishments. Prepare yourself mentally for a situation where you either have to eat at exorbitant prices in a hotel restaurant or take a taxi to the restaurant. And taxis in Cyprus are expensive, we talked about tariffs in the article “”.

We wish you a successful choice of a resort in Cyprus, and our articles will help you with your choice ( links below).

Sights of Cyprus that are worth seeing: photos, videos and reviews

When going on vacation to the island of Cyprus, tourists first of all want to relax on the beach, swim in clear sea water and get a gorgeous tan. This is how their first days pass, and then the time comes when you want to take a break from the beach and the noise on the shore. What to do then? Go on excursions, of which there are hundreds, if not thousands, in the country. Specially trained guides gather groups of tourists and take them to beautiful places. It's interesting and tiring. After all, there are many tourists, but only one guide. Everyone wants attention, everyone wants an answer to their question. Plus you have to pay for the excursion, and sometimes quite a lot. It is best to arrange a viewing of the island yourself and visit where it is beautiful. A new map of Cyprus with attractions in Russian will help you find all the necessary places. The map is interactive, and you can enlarge it, plot a route on it, and also see photos of the objects you plan to visit. And if you find a place in Cyprus that you like, then feel free to add it to your map so as not to forget about it.

Cyprus is rich not only in beaches, but also in attractions. Nevertheless, the proximity of Turkey and Greece in historical and geographical terms makes itself felt. Every city on the island has beautiful buildings, sites and monuments. Many of them were built hundreds of years ago, and some have become iconic thanks to tourists who simply liked them.

For example, the Troodos Mountains have become a popular destination thanks to tourists. Here is the legendary Mount Olympus, which is the center of alpine skiing in Cyprus. But not only ski lovers come here. There are also many hiking trails in the mountains. Still, walking in the mountains and breathing fresh air is useful. These mountains are visited both in winter and summer. Buses bringing tourists come here.

In the eleventh century, by order of the Byzantine Emperor Alexios II Komnenos, the construction of the Kykkos Monastery began. The uniqueness of the monastery is its age and the fact that it is located at an altitude of 1140 meters in the mountains. This place is popular with all tourists, and when visiting it, tourists pray for themselves and their loved ones.

Temples, monasteries and churches are the main attractions of the island. For example, the Church of St. Lazarus in Larnaca is considered almost the oldest building in Cyprus. Many scientists claim that this church was the first to appear here. It was here that Jesus raised Lazarus after the death and after his relics became saints and are still kept.

You will be surprised, but there is the Khirokitiya Excavations, which have become a museum and are included in the world heritage list. This ancient settlement is 9-10 thousand years old! It is believed that this settlement was one of the first to be considered civilized!

There are many villages in Cyprus, and one deserves special attention. This is the village of Lefkara, which is famous for its lacemakers. This style of lace weaving is known all over the world, and in Europe it is the most popular. But only here they weave lace in the same way as they did it many centuries ago. This method of weaving lace is considered the property of the republic and is kept secret like a military secret.

Do you want to visit a place where, in the middle of the 5th millennium BC, local residents settled the city and held city meetings and celebrated holidays? Then visit the archaeological site of Kourion. There is little left of the city, but the famous ancient Greek theater has been preserved and performances are still given here.

The Royal Tombs in the city of Paphos is a place where not only tourists, but also local residents certainly come. It was here that famous people of the island were buried, and this place was very rich. Noble people were buried along with their wealth and in expensive coffins. Many living Cypriots have relatives buried in their tombs!

Why is the Petra tou Romiou rock so popular among tourists and Cypriots? Everything is very simple - it was here that Aphrodite was born from the foam and sea waves! Not visiting this place means not visiting and not getting to know Cyprus. Couples in love love to swim here, and as if by this swimming they tie their love bonds.

These are not all the attractions and more beautiful places. We recommend studying the map, where you will see almost all architectural monuments, see their photos and read descriptions.
