Ski resorts and slopes of the Altai region. Ski tourism in Altai Ski tourism in the Altai region

The ski season in the Altai Territory begins in December and ends in mid-April. The best time for skiing is considered to be the second half of February - mid-March.

Belokurikha

Belokurikha is a resort located in the spurs of the Cherginsky ridge at an altitude of 240-250 meters above sea level, in the valley of the mountain river Belokurikha. The southern part of the resort is bordered by fairly high mountains. They are covered with lush evergreen coniferous vegetation. At the tops there are granite rocks of bizarre shape.

The height of the snow cover is from 48 to 50 cm.

The resort is located in a calm place. The average January temperature is 17°C. Frosty days in winter are quickly replaced by thaws, and there are a very large number of sunny days a year. There are no large differences in atmospheric pressure, and the air saturated with beneficial ions gives vigor and well-being.

These places are rich in underground warm springs of nitrogen-radon water, enriched with unique salts (source temperatures from 27°C to 42°C).

The mild winter surpasses the climate of Switzerland in terms of the number of sunny days and the healing properties of the air.

The elevation difference at the resort is 510 meters. The total length of the trails is 25 km, there are illuminated trails. The longest route is 2,500 m. There are five lifts.

The skiing season here is open from early December to late March. The complex is located on the territory of the Altai Territory, but it is more convenient to get here from the Altai Republic. The distance from Gorno-Altaisk to the complex is about 25 kilometers.

The ski complex is equipped with a 600 m long ski slope, located in a picturesque location on the left bank of the Katun River, near the unique Lake Aya. The lift is carried out by a single-seat ski tow.

Avalman

The only place for ski holidays in Barnaul is the Avalman complex, located in the mountainous part of the city on the slopes of the Ob River. The complex is a network of interconnected, well-prepared trails of varying difficulty levels. One of the tracks is illuminated, which allows you to continue skiing at night.

Winter entertainment complex "Mount Veselaya"

Designed for family holidays. Here you can enjoy winter nature and have a wonderful rest.

You can climb to the top of the mountain by rope tow in just over 4 minutes. 500 meters of ascent with a height difference of 150 meters. From the top there is an amazing view of winter Altai. The track is illuminated and therefore suitable for night skiing. The descent, combined with slopes from 25 to 45 degrees, allows you to choose the optimal route depending on your riding style. On weekends, an experienced trainer will help you master alpine skiing if you have not yet learned how to ski.

On a separate slope of Mount Veselaya there is a sled lift for sledding, snowplaning, and snow scootering. This is a real extreme and is not suitable for everyone. You can also choose a flatter route for the descent. Only adults and children with their parents can ride on the toboggan run.

There is a snow compactor or snowcat on all trails.

The complex is equipped with an ice slide. Its length is about 100 meters, the height difference is 12 meters. The slide has several turns that turn into a vertical.

Gorynya

The Gorynya slope is located 1.5 km from the Adaru boarding house, located on the banks of the Katun, 8 km from the Aisky Bridge. This is a slope of northwestern exposure, its average steepness is 18 degrees, the elevation difference is about 170 m. The length of the descents is 1500 m (670 m and 830 m). There are drag lifts, jumps and a track for snowboarders.

Altai Republic

The Altai Republic is located in the extreme southeast of Western Siberia within the Altai mountain system. It borders in the north-west and north with the Altai Territory, in the north-east with the Kemerovo region, in the east with the Republics of Khakassia and Tuva, in the south with Mongolia and China and in the south-west with Kazakhstan.

Ski resort "Manzherok"

The complex is located at the foot of Mount Sinyukha, next to Lake Manzherokskoye. Trails of varying difficulty levels with a height difference of 800 m; artificial snowmaking system, rope tows and chair lifts.

Mount Tugay

The ski slopes are located directly within the city limits of Gorno-Altaisk. The name of Mount Tugay (641 m) probably comes from the Altai phrase tuu kaya - "rocky mountain"

Three routes with a height difference of 350 m and a length of 1050-1400 m are laid along the southern slope of Mount Tugay, which closes the intermountain basin in which the city is located from the north. The slope is characterized by a varied topography, the presence of rather steep local ledges, hillocks and relatively flat sections, which allows for a variety of skiing options and the complexity of the routes. The lift is carried out by a two-seater ski tow. Another route, simpler, is located on the slope of Mount Komsomolskaya, on the opposite bank of the Maima River.

Educational and training center "Seminsky Pass"

It is located on the 235th km of the Chuysky tract, between the villages of Topuchaya and Tuekta, approximately 150 km from Gorno-Altaisk. Seminsky Pass on the section from Biysk to Ini is the highest point of the Chuisky tract (1894 m), where cedar taiga alternates with areas of subalpine meadows. The base of the center itself is located at an altitude of 1780 m. Initially, it was intended for training skiers and biathletes in mid-mountain conditions, but in recent years it has also served as a tourist complex. Due to the high altitude, snow remains on the pass for a long time. There is a single ski tug operating here, serving a 750 m long track, laid in a magnificent cedar forest.

The average duration of the skiing season on Seminsky Pass is 5 months (from late November to early May).

Mountain Shoria

Mountain Shoria occupies the southern part of the Kemerovo region and is geographically part of the Altai mountain system. It is a medium-altitude mountain (up to 2100 m), dissected by two rivers - Mras-Su and Kondoma. Shoria stretches for 170 km from north to south from the Tom River to the Biyskaya Griva and for 100 km from west to east from the Salair Ridge to the Abakan Range. Its area is 13.5 thousand square kilometers.

Nature itself has created unique conditions here for the development of skiing and tourism: the steepness of the slopes, the duration of the snow cover - 7 months, clear moderately frosty weather without wind, light "cold" snow, which not every ski resort in the world can boast of.

Green Mountain (Sheregesh village)

Sheregesh is a village in the Tashtagol district of the Kemerovo region, at the foot of Mount Mustag. In recent years, Sheregesh has gained fame as a ski resort. The trails are located on the slopes of Mount Zelenaya.

The duration of the season is from November to May.

There are trails of varying difficulty ranging from 700 to 2400 meters in length, including a track specifically for children. If you don't know how to ride, an instructor will teach you.

At the Sheregesh ski resort you can ski, snowboard, and sled. The slopes of Mount Zelenaya are suitable for both regular and extreme skiing.

The high level of the Green Mountain slopes is recognized by specialists from the International Ski and Snowboard Federation. Professional and amateur Russian Alpine Skiing Championships have been held here several times.

Mountain "Bear Cub" (Shalym village)

The ski center of the same name is located in the very “heart” of Gornaya Shoria, 18 km from the city of Tashtagol. The tracks are 1350 and 1750 meters long and 50 meters wide. The height difference is 300 meters. On the mountain there is a ropeway and a ski school.

There are not many ski resorts located on the slopes of the Altai Mountains. Sheregesh especially stands out among its neighbors. The complex, which was built on the slopes of Mount Zelenaya, is the largest in the Kemerovo region.

The resort is located within the boundaries of the massif called Gornaya Shoria. The complex is equipped according to international standards. The unique weather conditions add to the popularity of Shergesh. The ski season here lasts from November to May (one of the longest seasons in the entire country, not counting the Arctic Circle), and the snow of Sheregesh - dry and lush - does not stick together, which makes the resort a paradise for freeriders.

Resort Description

Sheregesh has achieved a lot in the last 15 years. The level of equipment here is the best in all of Siberia, but there are not many trails. All equipped slopes are located within Mount Zelenaya and occupy an altitude level of 600-1270 meters.

Officially, the Sheregesh ski resort also includes the slopes of three more neighboring mountains, which are called Mustag, Kurgan and Utuya. Mount Green is the lowest of these four, and the highest is Mustag (1570 meters). The slopes of three undeveloped mountains can be used for freeride.

The variety of natural conditions makes Sheregesh interesting for visitors of any level of training, and the presence of the FIS standard allows various competitions to be held here (including stages of the Russian ski championships).

By 2016, the resort management plans to increase the number of slopes to 31, lifts to 15, equip slopes on all four peaks, build hotels and entertainment centers. In the meantime, Sheregesh already boasts the largest snow park in Russia.

Ski season

Specific weather conditions are partly determined by the geographical location of Mountain Shoria. This region is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges, and only one has access to the plain. Thus, Snow cover here can last from mid-November to early May.

Skiing season temperatures are within -10 – -15 degrees.

Average snow thickness is 1-1.5 meters, sometimes this value reaches 4 meters. The snow itself is also interesting - it is called “dry” and “cold” (it hardly sticks and maintains its shape well).

Sports infrastructure

The Sheregesh ski complex is represented by equipped slopes, lifts and “wild” slopes. In addition, there is a snow park with tracks and equipment for fans of tricks, a climbing wall with an accurate imitation of the surface of the mountain, and ski schools for children and adults. For freeriders, there is the possibility of delivery to the slope using a snowmobile or snowcat.

Ski passes

A feature of modern Sheregesh is the lack of a single ski pass for all lifts.

The resort has several operators who maintain their lifts. Lift passes are only valid on lifts of the same operator.

The situation is complicated by the fact that sometimes it is impossible to get to the desired route on the lift of one operator. Below are prices in rubles for one-time lifts and passes, sorted by lift operator.

To save money, decide in advance which slopes you are going to ski on and buy passes from the relevant operators for the required period.

Lifts

The total number of lifts on Sheregesh is 17. Of these, there are 5 chairlifts, 9 drag lifts, 2 gondola lifts and 1 combined Panorama lift (gondola + chairlift).

At the resort, the lifts operate on the principle of 1 track - 1 operator - 1 lift. Almost every road is dedicated to a separate descent. But in total there are at least two lifts per route, since different operators serve different roads.

Thus, the “Khlebnitsa” and “Bulochka” lifts operate on the “Dollar” track (height - 1300 meters - the slope of Mount Mustag). At the same time, “Bun” delivers visitors only to the middle of the descent.

The “Lob” and “Elena” trails, which start on Mount Zelenaya (1270 meters), are served by 6 rope tows (4 of which are included in the 1st stage, that is, they do not reach the very top).

Two more routes descending from the top of Zelenaya are “Panorama” and “Sky Way”. They operate 4 lifts (gondola, 2 rope tows and a chair gondola). The Sector E route (also 1270 meters - Green Mountain) has its own gondola road.

Trails

In total, there are 15 trails on Sheregesh, the total length of which is 23 kilometers. All tracks are divided into 4 types according to their difficulty (“green”, “blue”, “red” and “black”). But most trails combine several levels of difficulty. So, the resort has:

  • 1 “black” track (1900 meters)
  • 1 “blue” (700 meters)
  • 1 “black-red” track (2500 meters)
  • 1 “blue” + “red” (1600 meters)
  • 1 route “blue-green-red” (3900 meters)
  • 4 descents of the “green” + “blue” type (7700 meters)
  • 6 slopes for all skiers (13700 meters)

Click to view the route map in more detail

From the top of the mountain there are two descents, which converge into one in the middle. The upper parts of the slopes are intended for experienced skiers; there are “red” and “black” sections. From the junction to the foot the trails are flatter, which will please beginners.

Also of interest is the 2-kilometer slalom course with different inclination angles.

Two 2.5-kilometer tracks with an incline of up to 45 degrees are suitable for downhill skiers.

All slopes are processed using snowcats, some have snow cannons.

Off-piste descents for freeriding

Mount Zelenaya and its neighboring peaks are perfect for those who like to descend unequipped slopes. The central peak of Sheregesh can offer freeriders descent from the eastern and western sides. The forest in the east is sparser, and the slope itself is gentle. The western forest is dense, there are almost no clearings here.

Freeriders can get to the slopes of the Mustag and Kurgan mountains (the most interesting slopes in terms of descent are located there) on snowmobiles. In addition, everyone is transported to two more points by snowcats.

At the end of November - beginning of December, a freeride school is held annually in Sheregesh, where experienced instructors teach everyone the freeride technique.

Instructors and schools

During the ski season, schools are held in Sheregesh, where through theoretical and practical classes you can learn the skills of skiing or snowboarding.

Ski schools for adults are held in early and mid-December, New Year's Eve, mid-February and late March.

Specific dates vary depending on the season. Prices also vary from year to year, but on average the cost is 10,000-12,000 rubles for 5-7 days of school (the school’s maximum price is during the New Year). Freeride school is a little cheaper - from 9,000 rubles.

In addition, private instructors work at the resort all season long. You can find them directly at the foot of the mountain, near the ski lifts and at the top of Zelenaya. The main rule is to always check the instructor’s certificate, which confirms the specialist’s level of qualification. The prices for instructors are the same - 1000 rubles per hour per person. When training 2 or more people, discounts are provided; working with children will cost a little more.

The resort has a children's ski school "Tevalyashka" especially for children. It offers training programs separately for children aged 3-7 years (“ski nursery”) and separately for children from 7 years old. The youngest school visitors can learn to ski on a fenced-off training slope. Groups of older children can also practice there and learn the skills of skiing and snowboarding.

School "Tumbler" located at the exit of sector A, near the beginning of the ski lifts.
Operating mode: from 9 to 17, group classes begin at 10, 12 and 14.

The lower price limit is set at around 900 rubles/day per room. Such rooms, for example, are available at the Sporthotel-2 hotel. And the most expensive at the moment is a cottage in the Chalet Alpen Club complex - 14,000 rubles per house per day. Some options:

Specialists help install fasteners, treat edges and sliding surfaces using branded paraffin, and repair equipment.

Ski resort "Grace" in Belokurikha

Within the resort town of Belokurikha, a wonderful ski complex “Blagodat” was built. It was given the status of a center for ski tourism and sports in Altai. The complex was created in a resort area. Its infrastructure is well developed. People come here to relax, get treatment, play sports and conquer tourist routes.

The ski resort "Blagodat" is a place where Russia holds significant competitions. The Altai Territory, in the area of Dunyushkino Log, on the southern side of Tserkovka Mountain, is lined with the longest ski slope. The Siberian Spartakiad, All-Russian children's competitions and Russian Cup competitions are held here. You can only get up to the slope to the starting point using a chair lift.

GKL "Grace" is formed by a network of interconnected trails with five drag lifts and a chairlift. Each mountain slope included in the complex is given a unique name.

Slope "Church"

Traditionally, Altai ski resorts are equipped with restaurants and cafes at the foot of the slopes. The Tserkovka slope, 2600 meters long, became an exception to this rule. A cozy cafe is located on the top of the mountain. From its windows and chairlift you can see picturesque landscapes of the local surroundings, shining with snow-white cover.

The track here has an incredible elevation difference of 550 meters. Such a significant difference allowed us to classify it as a red (difficult) route, designed for professionals.

Slope "Grace"

The most popular route with a height difference of 330 meters cut into the “Grace” slope, which captured the bottom of Tserkovka Mountain and stretched into the distance for 1350 meters. This route is considered red. However, it conquers many beginner skiers. The route is adjacent to two parking lots, the “Blagodat” hotel, the restaurant of the same name and the “Chadyr” cafe-bar.

Slope "Katun"

One of the slopes of Belokurikha is called “Katun”. Here the natural terrain was leveled, the width of the slope was increased to 35 meters, a pair rope tow was installed and trial artificial snowmaking was carried out. After a successful experiment, the ski resort, or rather, its slopes, are regularly snowed. The elevation difference on the 850-meter blue track is only 185 meters. It is suitable for skiing for those who want to avoid excessively steep slopes.

Slope "Altai-West"

The length of the route on a fairly gentle slope “Altai-West” reached 830 meters. There is the smallest height difference here - only 146 meters. The route is easy and well lit. It is classified as a children's one. Near the slope there is a sanatorium of the same name.

Slope "Northern"

The northern side of the Church is equipped with illuminated 900-meter ski slopes. They lie next to the boarding houses "Sunny Hill" and "Northern Lights". They ride here on standard trails and powder. The elevation difference in this place is 175 meters. At the foot of the slope there is a cafe.

Altai is a unique corner of nature. The Altai Mountains are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The variety of landscapes that are inherent in the Altai Mountains annually attracts tourists from all over Russia and from other countries of the world. The moderate continental climate with mild, long winters has led to the development of infrastructure for winter sports.

Most popular Altai ski resort recognized Belokurikha. The resort is located in the spurs of the Cherginsky ridge, in the valley of the Belokurikha river at an altitude of 240 - 250 meters above sea level. The southern part of the city is bordered by fairly high mountains. They are covered with lush evergreen coniferous vegetation, and the peaks are crowned with bizarre granite rocks.

Belokurikha trails– an ideal place for both those who are just planning to get acquainted with alpine skiing or snowboarding, and for experienced athletes seeking to improve their skills.

Opening season

The ski season in Belokurikha opens in December and ends at the end of March.

Every year on the opening day of the season, as part of the regional holiday “Altai Wintering”, the “Snowball” is held at the Blagodat ski complex, which is located within walking distance from the Altai-West sanatorium: fun competitions from the presenter, performances by creative groups of the Altai Territory , a traditional mass gathering of ski instructors.

The Blagodat ski complex is often the host site for alpine skiing competitions of various levels: the Russian Cup stage, the Russian Spartakiad, the All-Russian children's and youth competitions, the Governor's Cup.

Ski instructors

The cost of 1 hour of lessons with an instructor, both for one adult and for a child, is 1,700 rubles.

The presence of a children's (training) slide allows for training lessons in skiing or snowboarding.

Sometimes, provided you have good physical preparation, 1 lesson is enough to master the basics of alpine skiing: the rules of behavior on the slope, how to brake and control the speed in the “plow,” how to use the lift and make large-radius turns. However, in order to learn how to parallel ski and make small radius turns, several lessons will be required.

If your dream is to rush along the mountain slopes, enjoying the speed and sliding, come to the ski school in the resort town of Belokurikha, located on the territory of the Blagodat ski complex! Experienced instructors will select a technique suitable for your level and individual characteristics, and will help you master the technique of skiing and snowboarding. You can choose from individual or group lessons - both for beginners and more experienced resort guests. At the rental point you will find modern ski equipment from the world's leading manufacturers.

On the territory of Russia there are ski resorts that are not inferior in status to foreign bases.

The territory of Altai is a paradise for lovers of active winter recreation, where you can have fun with health benefits, where you can try yourself as a skier, testing your strength on slopes of varying difficulty.

Among the famous and popular places are ski resorts:

  • Belokurikha;
  • Manzherok;
  • Sheregesh.

Popular ski resorts in Altai - description

Educational and training center Seminsky Pass

At the 235th km of the Chuysky tract there is the Seminsky Pass ski complex, which a few years ago was just a place for training skiers and biathletes in mid-mountain conditions.

You can find the complex between the villages of Topuchaya and Tuekta. Every weekend residents of Gorno-Altaisk have a great opportunity to go skiing on the resort’s ski slopes, because you can get to it by covering only 150 km.

This Altai complex, unfortunately, is not distinguished by a huge variety of slopes of different difficulties, but can be proud of a long ski season from late November to early May, due to the fact that the snow does not melt for a long time on the pass due to its high altitude. The length of the route is about 750 m. You can get to the top of the mountain only by a single ski tow along a lift path laid among the cedar forest.

"Seminsky Pass" is an excellent opportunity to get into alpine skiing and learn how to conquer simple ski slopes.

Ski resort Gorynya

For beginner skiers or skiers who have not yet reached the heights of skiing skills, the Gorynya resort was built 9 km from Lake Aya.

Here you can ride one of three slopes, lengths:

  • 650 m;
  • 750 m;
  • 780 m.

The height difference is no more than 150 m, but for those who are just trying to enter the world of skiing, a greater difference is not needed.

Skiers and boarders are transported to the highest point of the slope by rope tows. "Gorynya" is an excellent place for those who want a relaxing holiday in the Altai Mountains to be diluted with a small dose of adrenaline.

Ski resort Mount Veselaya

The Veselaya Mountain ski resort is a place for the whole family to enjoy winter activities.

A rope tow will take you to the top of the mountain, which offers a magnificent view of the surrounding Altai region, in just 4 minutes. The complex is located only 25 km from Gornoaltaisk, on the left bank of the river. Katun, near Lake Aya.

The convenient location of “Veselaya Mountain” to the main infrastructure of the Altai Mountains makes it possible for everyone to get to the territory of the ski resort.

The Veselaya Mountain complex is one of the few ski resorts in Altai that offer the possibility of skiing at night thanks to good lighting of the slopes. There is a place for a skier of any level: the height difference is no more than 150 m, but the slope of the slopes varies from 25 to 45ºС, so it will be interesting not only for beginners, but also for experienced skiers. A holiday at a ski resort with children will give an unforgettable experience of skiing down the ice slide 100 m long, with a height difference of at least 12 m.

The slide is unique because of the curves created along its path, which make not only children, but also their parents squeal with pleasure. In addition, while adults are skiing down the mountain slopes, children can enjoy the toboggan slopes created on a separate section of the mountain range. The toboggan slope is equipped with a special lift.

Mount Tugay

The mountain called "Tugaya" is a ski resort located within the city of Gorno-Altaisk.

Superbly equipped slopes, slopes of varying difficulty levels and beautiful views from the top of the mountain (a platform with a panoramic view at an altitude of 641 m) are what attract skiers to this Altai complex.

The length of the three slopes is 1000-1400 m with a height difference of up to 350 m. Beginner skiers who have the opportunity to conquer the flat sections of the mountain, and experienced skiers eager to descend steep slopes will feel equally comfortable here.

The problem of long queues at the ski lifts is solved by the presence of double rope tows.

Belokurikha - the snowy kingdom of the skier

Mountain Shoria is a part of the Altai resort, which is represented by a huge territory of various mountains. This is the intersection of the Kuznetsk Alatau spur, northeastern Altai and the southern part of Salair. The length of the resort is more than one hundred kilometers.

The Altai mountain, Malaya Sinyukha, has become the home of a new modern complex for skiers. Manzherok can rightfully be included in the list of the best ski resorts in our country. Availability of comfortable hotels, with spacious, cozy rooms; complex, long and steep pistes of “red”, “green” and “blue” colors, more than two hundred meters long, are the main advantages of this resort. The elevation difference is sometimes about 800m.

Safety is the foundation of the resort. Difficult routes with dangerous sections are fenced with a mesh. The base has its own medical service, so you don’t have to worry about your health.

The Altai slopes in Manzherok are equipped with French-made lifts, the children's area is served by a special "baby lift", which makes the walk even more exciting for kids.
