Before purchasing an air ticket, you can see that they sell either direct flights or flights with transfers. Those who fly for the first time have many questions about this. Which air ticket is better and cheaper? How to buy a direct flight?

To answer these questions, you need to describe in detail all the flights that exist. There are only four of them:

1. Direct flight

2. Transit flight (with a transfer)

3. Composite flight

4. Charter flight

Direct flight

A direct flight is a non-stop flight when the plane flies directly from the city of departure to the city of arrival. As a rule, a direct flight is more expensive than a transit flight with a transfer, but the flight time is significantly shorter than if you fly with a transit flight, since it flies directly.

Sometimes there are so-called charter flights, they are always direct, however, their cost is lower than even that of transit flights.

Transit flight

Transit flights are flights with transfers, usually no more than 2 transfers. These flights are the most popular today, especially if you fly over very long distances.

Transit flights are slightly cheaper than direct flights. Airlines first collect all passengers in one place from different cities, and then transfer everyone onto one large plane. Thus, airlines save money, and this affects. The transfer time most often takes from 3 hours to a day, sometimes it is only 1 hour or, conversely, two days.

During a transit flight, the passenger does not need to go through passport control again; at this time the passenger will be in a special transit area of the airport.

During a transfer on a transit flight, luggage will not be returned to the passenger. Baggage is moved from plane to plane during transfers.

If the first plane you are flying on is late, then the second one will always wait for the first plane, and you will fly safely to the final city. In this case, the airlines will either wait for your first plane or reschedule the second flight to a later date.

When purchasing a flight, always check how many transfers there are and how long you spend in the transit zone for each transfer. You can also check the box in the search engine and search only for direct flights; if you do not check the box, the search engine will search for both direct and transit flights. All information about .

Composite flight

A composite flight is a flight made up of different airlines. A composite flight can be found using an air ticket search engine, then it will be similar to a regular transit flight, but you will fly with different airlines.

You can plan a multi-part flight yourself, first buy a ticket from one airline and fly to one place, and then board a second flight from another airline and fly to your final destination. In this case, you need to plan everything well and you will need to go through passport control twice or even three times, get your luggage and leave the transit zone. You will also need a visa and a passport if the intermediate point is another country where a visa is required.

Chartered flight

Charter flights are flights outside the airport's schedule and are booked separately, for example by tour operators. That is, this is renting an aircraft from an airline, for example, a tour operator. The cost of a charter flight is significantly lower than even that of transit flights.

Tickets for charter flights are not sold at ticket offices, find out. Legally, a charter air ticket is an agreement between the passenger and the aircraft customer, and not with the airline.

From everything described above, the following tips and recommendations can be given to air passengers and travelers:

1. Before purchasing, always check what kind of flight you are purchasing, direct or transit. The search engine has a checkbox that allows you to filter direct and transit flights.

2. If you buy a transit flight, check how many transfers there are and how long each transfer lasts

3. You can plan your multiple flight. First flying to the city along the route, and then flying to the final destination of the flight. In this case, you will have to go through passport control and check in your luggage twice. Also carefully plan your component flights so as not to miss the second plane, for example.

4. Charter flights are not sold at ticket offices; they are only ordered by tour operators, or employers and other large companies.

I hope this article gave you useful information about the types of flights and helped you plan your future air travel.

Tenerife is separated from Moscow by approximately 5,500 km. You can overcome them either in one sitting or with a transfer somewhere in Europe.
Now direct flights depart only from Moscow, but with a transfer it is possible to get there from some other Russian cities, bypassing capital airports.
Please note that Tenerife has two airports in different parts of the city.
Read about local flights between the islands in the “Transport” section.

Flight to Tenerife with a transfer

Recently, more and more of our compatriots are refusing direct flights in favor of flights with transfers somewhere in Europe. And there are reasons for this.

Firstly, it often turns out cheaper. And if you take care of buying tickets in advance and approach the issue creatively, it will be significantly cheaper.
Secondly, you can plan a tour of any duration at your discretion.

Thirdly, the choice of airlines is expanding significantly. In general, a “crooked” flight is a reasonable alternative to a straight one.

There are plenty of flight options. There are regular flights to Tenerife from many European cities, but most often Barajas in Madrid is used as a transfer airport.

The advantage of connecting flights is that both segments of the flight are purchased on one ticket. Even if they are operated by different airlines (for example, Aeroflot flies from Moscow to Madrid or Barcelona, and from there to Tenerife their Spanish partner Air Europe flies).
Those. at the transfer airport you do not need to collect and recheck your luggage, and if you are late for the second flight due to a delay in the first, the airline will solve the problem.

When you arrange a flight yourself from individual segments, then all responsibility for errors in route planning falls on you. Allow sufficient time for the transfer, taking into account the need to wait for luggage, move around the airport, check-in for the second flight and the possible delay of the first.

But you can come up with very low-cost flight options on your own. Thus, Ryanair will fly you from Madrid or Barcelona to Tenerife throughout the year for minimal money. Accordingly, the task comes down to buying cheap tickets to these cities. Catch sales and good rates!

And residents of St. Petersburg will certainly appreciate some of the offers of Norwegian Air, especially since Helsinki Airport can be reached by road.

Tenerife has two airports located at opposite ends of the island. Both airports are connected by a motorway.
The southern airport (TFS, Tenerife Sur, Reina Sofia) is located 20 km from the most popular resort - Playa de las Americas. As a matter of fact, it was built in 1978 to serve this tourist area.

All direct flights from Russia arrive at Tenerife South Airport.

The southern airport operates 24 hours a day; there is no need to book taxis in advance - there are always plenty of them there.

Bali is a mystical island lost in the Java Sea. There is probably no person who has never heard about him in his life. It attracts with its beauty, mysterious culture, tropical sun and ocean. But a flight to such a far corner of the Earth, as a rule, costs a pretty penny, and therefore almost everyone who has ever thought about traveling there is interested in the question: how to fly to Bali cheaply? In this article I will review all flight options to the island, and at the end we will be able to evaluate how to get to Bali from Moscow or other Russian cities in the cheapest way.

How to get to Bali cheaply from Moscow - air tickets to Bali prices

Of course, first of all, we will consider a flight to Bali from Moscow, because there are significantly more flights from the capital than from other cities in the country. Bali airport is located in Denpasar, i.e. we need to look for options on the route Moscow → Denpasar.

Below is a convenient table with current prices for this route for the whole year in advance. The price is for round trip tickets.

Direct flights from Moscow to Bali

Finally! In August 2018, Aeroflot announced the sale of tickets for a direct flight from Moscow to Bali. Previously, it was impossible to fly to Bali on a direct flight; there were only charters for package tourists.

Direct flights to Bali will be operated during the high season - from October 28, 2018 to March 30, 2019 - on a Boeing 777 aircraft jointly with Rossiya Airlines. Air ticket sales are already open, make sure to book as soon as possible to dilute the cold season with the hot sun of the fairytale islands.

Visa to China

Russians do not need a visa to transit through Guangzhou (as well as Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Chongqing, Kunming, Shenyang, Guilin and Dalian). To get a 72-hour stamp at the airport allowing you to enter the city, you will only need to provide a ticket confirming that you only have a connection in China, and then you will fly on to a third country. Mishuta and I were flying through Beijing and had no intention of going into the city, but we still had to get a stamp, because... I had to get my luggage and then check in again for the next flight, despite the fact that I was essentially buying one ticket. Perhaps this is a feature of Chinese airlines that luggage is not checked in immediately to the final destination.

Advantages and disadvantages

+ One transfer;
+ Same airline;
+ The price for the coming months is the most favorable;
+
+ The connection will most likely be in the same terminal.
It is necessary to re-check your luggage during a transfer (not always!).

2. Moscow - Hong Kong (China) - Bali

In general, this is a rather strange option for flying to Bali, but I still decided to consider it. In addition, I personally met families traveling along this route. The main reason I mention this option is that flights to Hong Kong can often be found at incredibly competitive prices. We even flew to Moscow from Hong Kong for only 8 thousand rubles, and to the eastern cities of our country (Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, etc.) sometimes air tickets are sold for 5 thousand rubles. There are direct flights from Hong Kong to Bali, for example, with Cathay Pacific. Their prices are average, but when combined with cheap flight tickets from Russia to Hong Kong, you get a very affordable option.

Flights to Bali from Southeast Asian countries - Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore

Another simple option is to plan your own flight through the countries of Southeast Asia. This is how we usually fly to Indonesia. We flew from Bangkok to Bali, from Jakarta to Phuket, from Singapore to Bali and from Bali to Kuala Lumpur. Air traffic in this segment is very well developed; literally all the larger cities in Southeast Asia have international airports. Below I will consider in more detail all these flight plans to Bali with transfers. And then I will choose the most convenient and least expensive.

1. Moscow - Singapore (Singapore) - Bali

I have been to Indonesia several times and always flew there with a connection in Singapore. It's convenient and nice because Singapore is beautiful, one of my favorite cities, and Singapore's Changi Airport is one of the top five in the world. A great option to combine a visit to a modern technogenic metropolis with a soulful tropical island in the ocean. The contrast is very bright and unusual!

To get to know the city during transit, my guide to Singapore is suitable.

For several years there were no direct flights between Moscow and Singapore, but currently Singapore Airlines has resumed service on this route, so you can safely fly to the coolest city I adore, Singapore, without transfers!

From Singapore to Bali there are ridiculously low prices - from $40, thanks TigerAir. The so-called Tigers are a Singaporean low-cost airline that flies to most countries in Southeast Asia, as well as India. Tiger Air has two flights daily from Singapore to Bali.

Singapore visa

For Russian citizens it is valid, stamped directly at Changi Airport upon arrival. That is, it is not necessary to obtain a Singapore visa in advance. But there is a condition that to receive such transit you must fly to Singapore from one country and fly to a third country. When traveling from Russia to Bali, this condition is met, so no problems arise. The only thing is to print out your departure ticket from Singapore, which you may need to present to the visa officer.

Advantages and disadvantages

+ You can see a new country and you don’t need a visa;
+ If the situation is favorable, you can plan your flight on a fairly budget;
+ Flights to this direction operate almost daily.
The route will be operated by different airlines (the conditions for transporting luggage are different, and Tiger Air has a separate surcharge for luggage, since it is a low-cost company);
Connections can be from different terminals (but Singapore has excellent navigation and a free shuttle between all terminals);
Some people are put off by planning their trip on their own and buying tickets in several stages (first from one airline, then from another).

2. Moscow - Bangkok (Thailand) - Bali

The most convenient way to fly to Bangkok is with a direct airline flight. Aeroflot. If you plan your trip in advance, it is not difficult to find very good deals on air tickets. In addition, direct flights to the capital of Thailand are operated by the Russian airline S7 from Novosibirsk. From Bangkok, fly with AirAsia.

AirAsia is the most popular air carrier in Southeast Asia. This airline flies to Bali from both Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Every day from Bangkok there is at least one flight to Denpasar, often even two.

Visa to Thailand

Russian citizens do not need to obtain a visa to Thailand in advance. A stamp allowing you to stay in the country for up to 30 days is affixed upon arrival right at the airport. So you can safely plan your trip to see Bangkok for a couple of days, or even more.

Advantages and disadvantages

+ One transfer;
+ You can go into the city and don’t need a visa;
+ You can plan your flight on a fairly budget;
+ Flights to this direction operate almost daily.
The route will be operated by different airlines (this and baggage transportation conditions are different);
Connections can be from different terminals and even airports (for example, arrival from Russia to Suvarnabhumi Airport, and departure to Bali from Don Muang Airport);
Some people are put off by planning their trip on their own and buying tickets in several stages (first from one airline, then from another).

3. Moscow - Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) - Bali

Flying to Bali via Kuala Lumpur is not difficult, and often very cheap, because... the capital of Malaysia is literally the center of the most famous and affordable low-cost airlines - AirAsia and Malindo. For this reason, flying from Kuala Lumpur to Denpasar will not be expensive. Unfortunately, today there are no direct flights from Russia to Malaysia, although there used to be a direct flight from Transaero. Therefore, this option is unlikely to be convenient for those who value convenience and saving time. Well, for budget travelers it is quite possible to consider such a scheme. AirAsia has five flights daily from Kuala Lumpur to Bali. We used Malindo Air to fly on the route Bali - Kuala Lumpur.

MalindoAir. Another low-cost airline flying from Kuala Lumpur to Bali. Malindo is a Malay company that operates two flights daily to Denpasar. Their ticket prices are also very reasonable, with one-way prices starting at $40. I have previously written my review about Malindo Air.

Visa to Malaysia

Russians do not need to obtain a visa to Malaysia in advance. A free stamp allowing you to stay in the country for up to 30 days is placed directly at the airport upon arrival. Now you don’t even need to fill out migration cards, the only thing you will be asked to do is take your fingerprints. So in this regard there are no special problems.

Advantages and disadvantages

+ You can see a new country and you don’t need a visa;
+ You can plan your flight profitably;
+ Flights to this direction operate almost daily.
Two transfers, because There are currently no direct flights from Russia to Malaysia;
The route will be operated by different airlines (this and baggage transportation conditions are different);
The connection will most likely be from different terminals;
Some people are put off by planning their trip on their own and buying tickets in several stages (first from one airline, then from another).

How to fly to Bali cheaply and conveniently - the best options and conclusions

So, in all of the above information, I suggested several flight plans. Since the cost of air tickets changes every day, it is better to track specific prices through such a convenient calendar.

And my ready-made options will help you decide which route is best to fly to Bali. Based on the pros and cons of each scheme, the following conclusions can be drawn:

1. The most affordable and convenient option would be to fly from Russia to Bali with a Chinese airline. Firstly, this is the cheapest option if you buy a ticket right away Moscow — Denpasar, and not separately. Secondly, a reliable airline. Thirdly, convenient connections, and if you wish, you can go into the city, or even spend up to three days in China, and you don’t need a visa for this.

2. In second place is definitely the option through Dubai, because... It’s convenient to fly this route, whatever you say, the cost of tickets is higher than for the Chinese, but the connection is also convenient and the airport is excellent. And there are no problems with a visa - a 30-day stamp, with which you can safely walk around the luxurious metropolis. In addition, an inexpensive and convenient metro runs from Dubai airport to the center. Depending on the dates, you can find good options for air tickets from Moscow to Bali with Emirates airline.

3. My third place is shared by flight options via Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong. The reason for my choice is that in these cases only one transfer is needed, the cost of successfully combining offers from airlines is one of the most favorable, and when going to these cities you do not need to obtain a visa in advance - stamps are affixed at the airport. The only thing is that you will have to do the selection of connections yourself, which scares off many. But don't worry, it's easier than it seems. Using the current price tables, you can easily plan your trip as budget-friendly as possible.

4. In penultimate place I will put the flight from Qatar Airways via Doha. Although very often, unfortunately, today the situation is such that their flights to Bali cannot be called cheap. But from time to time there are good sales, so take a closer look at Qatar when planning your trip, maybe there will be good flight options for your dates. The disadvantage is that you can’t really get out into the city, and the wait at the airport can reach 12 hours, but there is only one transfer, while many Middle Eastern ones have two (for example, Etihad). You can look at the offers of Qatar Airways on the Moscow - Denpasar route for your dates and decide which is best.

5. Well, in last place is the option of flying from Russia to Bali via Kuala Lumpur. Despite the fact that local low-cost airlines offer very cheap flights from Malaysia to Denpasar, today, unfortunately, there are no direct flights to Kuala Lumpur from Russia, which means you will have to make at least one more transfer, due to which the flight will be more expensive and take longer. Let's hope that the situation will change in the future.

In this article we looked at the most profitable flights to Bali. As you can see, if you wish, you can find quite affordable options. On average, an inexpensive flight to Bali is considered to cost 35-40 thousand rubles for a round trip flight. Considering such a long distance, this cost is quite reasonable. If you have any questions, ask them in the comments.

From my personal experience, I can say that in all cases I flew to Bali and other Indonesian islands from Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Flights from them were ridiculously cheap - $14 to Sumatra, $28 to Java and up to $40 to Bali. Of course, from Russia, as we found out, flying to Malaysia or Singapore is quite expensive, but if you are spending a long vacation or trip in Thailand or other countries of Southeast Asia, then getting to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore will be very simple and cheap, and From there you can make a trip to Bali, which is what we actually did with our child :)

In connection with the recent FIFA World Cup and the upcoming Summer Olympic Games, flights from Russian cities to Brazilian cities are becoming increasingly popular. From Moscow to Brazil, of course, it is better to travel by air. However, even in this case, there are several flight options: a direct flight or a connecting flight with a transfer.

In order to find cheap flights from Moscow to Brazil, we recommend using the search form on the right.

A connecting flight with a transfer will significantly save money allocated for vacation or vacation, and will give you the opportunity to get acquainted with the city where the transfer is made while waiting for the connecting flight. Only in this case, the flight can take about twenty hours.

It is worth noting that until recently, tourists went to Brazil only with transfers in Rome, Amsterdam, Paris and other foreign cities.

However, in 2011, an air corridor was opened with direct flights from Moscow to Brazil, which was closed about 20 years ago. The first experimental flight took twelve and a half hours, so it was decided to make such flights regular - once a week. Due to increased demand and a constant shortage of air tickets, the number of flights had to be increased to several flights per week.

The direct flight from Moscow to Brazil is best suited for people who value their time and do not want to waste it waiting for connecting flights. Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from other Russian cities.
An air ticket for a direct flight from Moscow to Brazil, due to the long distance of about twelve thousand kilometers, is quite expensive, so many tourists try to buy a ticket several months before the flight. After all, such a purchase will save about seventy percent.
