Festive events dedicated to the opening of the 2017-2018 ski season in Sheregesh began traditionally. Rescuers, firefighters and other municipal employees lined up on the approach to the rollout of sector A. Near the Finish cafe, the shamans lit a sacred fire and casually mentioned that clouds with snow could be summoned for inexpensively.

Aman Tuleyev missed the opening, but conveyed his greetings and best wishes to everyone. After the officials spoke, the snowmobiles suddenly started up, polluted the air with exhaust fumes, and sped off into the distance.

Against the backdrop of blue air and snowmobiles moving upward, tourists and all those present were presented with Shor creativity. The snow-hydrogen bomb “I love Sheregesh” flew to other competing ski resorts.

Of the expected new ski infrastructure facilities in Sheregesh, not a single facility is 100% ready. The lifts have been built, but have not yet been put into operation. And some of the new ones announced are not even completed. The Gubernskaya Hotel has opened its second building, but will only begin accepting guests closer to December 20th.

Unexpectedly, next to the water protection zone, employees of the Sheregesh tourist center ( ) foreigners were seen in the amount of at least 4 people. Staying alert to the threat, we interviewed the foreigners in broken English about their place of birth and purpose for being in Sheregesh.

It turned out that the residents of India and England do not pose any threat to the water protection facility and are learning to ride in Sheregesh.

One of the most prepared trails with a minimum set of stones and bushes today can be called the lower section of route No. 15 along the Bunochka lift.

And at the top, rescuers will be waiting for you, raising a pirate flag. What is it for?

One of the main criteria for going on vacation is the availability of free time, but here everything is very individual.

We’ll tell you how the season in Sheregesh basically works, what the peculiarities of the climate and pricing policy in hotels are, so that you can plan your trip for yourself. Fortunately, Sheregesh hotels offer conditions for different categories of tourists, and the climate is consistently snowy from year to year.

October November

No one knows the exact opening date of the season at this time. But it happened more than once that people started skiing in Sheregesh at the end of October. The official opening is most often scheduled for the last or penultimate weekend of November.

So, by planning a trip in advance for the end of autumn, you can be sure to get some good powder. It is also better to book a room in advance, because as soon as the season officially opens, for all hotels it is the beginning of the high season, and prices rise.

December

There is already a lot of snow in Sheregesh in December. All trails, freeride and everything your heart desires in terms of skiing are available.

True, the end of November - December is high season. Riders hungry for snow from all over Russia come to Gornaya Shoria, and you can’t really count on discounts in hotels.

Also in December, quite severe frost is possible in Sheregesh. And although it is usually warmer on the mountain than in the village, you need to be prepared to insulate yourself.

New Year and New Year holidays

Peak days of the season, maximum partying and fun. By the way, on the 30th, 31st and 1st the mountain can be quite sparsely crowded, but after that the real excitement begins.

The most expensive accommodation of the season occurs on these days.

Let us highlight these dates separately: the week before the New Year and the week after the New Year holidays are notable for the fact that there is a lull at the resort. People are either preparing for the holidays or getting involved in the work process after vacation.

On these dates you can often find quite attractive offers from hotels. As for the climate, there will definitely be snow, but with the temperature anything is possible - cold weather may strike, after all, we live in Siberia.

January February

Low season in Sheregesh. You can count on relatively inexpensive accommodation. But you need to carefully monitor the weather. You can find excellent powder and warmth, or you can find no snow and frost.

End of February – March

It’s high again and also known as the “velvet” season in Sheregesh. The probability of powder is not so great, but the temperature is much more comfortable.

Accommodation prices are high, but despite this, at this time of the season there are a lot of tourists, the queues are long, many come with families.

End of March – April

The most mountain-beach time. Swimsuits, tanning, GrelkaFest and more.

It can easily rain in Sheregesh at this time. There is no longer any question of quality skating; freeride is either impossible or extremely dangerous.

So a holiday in April means a little skiing and a lot of partying. Prices are quite affordable, because mid-spring is, according to hotels, low season.

June July August

Summer for Sheregesh is also a low season, perhaps the lowest of the year. But it still can’t do without tourists.

This is the time for cycling, barbecues under the mountain and at the top of Zelenaya, celebrating weddings and corporate events.

Snow has fallen in Sheregesh, which means that lovers of active winter recreation can already prepare their skis and boots for the new season. The Kuzbass ski resort is one of the most popular in the country and one of the closest to the Altai Territory, so it would be a sin not to visit there at least once. But before you go to conquer Mount Green, it’s a good idea to find out what to do at this resort and how much it will cost.
