A large passenger sea ship sank on the night of August 31 to September 1, 1986. During the disaster, about a third of everyone on board did not survive, and 423 people drowned in the waters of the bay. Battery Zubkov

During the Great Patriotic War, the front line approached Kabardinka at a distance of only 20 kilometers. Not far from the village, on Cape Penay, a fortified artillery battery with naval guns was built, which protected the waters of Tsemes Bay to prevent the enemy from landing in the port of Novorossiysk. Captain Zubkov’s battery was fired upon almost continuously for a whole year, several tens of thousands of soldiers died on it, but the Germans were unable to capture or destroy the fortifications.
