If you are traveling to Crimea on foot, then when packing your bags, first of all, we throw away everything unnecessary. You should take only the essentials with you on your trip. And we will tell you what may be useful.

Equipment:

• Backpack (+ case for it). For a child - no more than 30-40 liters, for a girl - no more than 70 liters, for a man - about 80 liters. Choose a modern, comfortable backpack with an anatomical shape. Remember: the weight of a filled backpack should be no more than 30% of your weight!
• Tent. The ideal option is 2-layer, lightweight, frame, up to 2.5 kg.
• Sleeping bag. We also take a lightweight version; insulated ones are not needed at this time of year.
• Karemat (approx. heat-insulating mat). He is indispensable when traveling. And also a “seat” made of the same material to sit on the stones.
• Raincoat with hood. It’s better to take a poncho to cover both yourself and your backpack in the rain.

Cloth:

• Shoes. Take comfortable, well-worn shoes – mountain boots or sneakers with tread. Going on such a trip in new shoes is a big mistake. And light sandals (flip flops) - for relaxing at sea.
• Windbreaker with hood.
• Lightweight sweatpants that dry quickly and are easy to ventilate. Jeans are not recommended! We also take comfortable shorts.
• Jumper or fleece shirt + long sleeve T-shirt + tank top.
• Thermal socks + regular socks.
• Change of underwear + swimsuit (swimming trunks).
• Bandana or cap (you can wear a Panama hat).

You will also need:

• For personal hygiene (without fanaticism!) - a small towel, soap and paper, a pack of wet and regular wipes, a brush and toothpaste.
• Dishes. Among the utensils, a folding knife, a bowl/mug and a spoon will definitely come in handy. Choose lightweight dishes made of thin metal. You can also take plastic forks/spoons. Corkscrew and can opener. A bowler hat if you are traveling in a group.
• Flashlight. This is also a mandatory item. The ideal option is LED, head-mounted to leave your hands free - it burns longer than usual and is much lighter in weight. Plus an additional light source - a hand-held flashlight, in a sealed case.
• Plastic flask. You can use a regular plastic bottle up to 2 liters.
• Camera. Don’t carry tripods/lenses with you – it’s heavy and inconvenient. Take a regular digital point-and-shoot camera.
• Rechargeable batteries and batteries (for flashlights, cameras).
• Compass (wouldn't hurt).

• Matches (2 boxes), lighters, dry fuel in tablets (9-15g). If you plan to cook often, take a gasoline stove or mini-cylinders with a gas burner. This will be more convenient than lighting fires (especially since you can’t light them everywhere), and food will cook faster.
• Detailed map of Crimea. Plus, satellite images of the area of ​​your route, printed in advance, will not hurt.
• Insect repellents (mosquitoes, ticks).

First aid kit:

• Bandages, cotton wool and plasters are a must.

• Wild boars

In principle, rarely anyone sees them, but if you suddenly come across a “group” of wild boars or, even worse, a mother boar with a litter, then it’s better to sit out on a tree.

• Wild dogs

These animals, gathered in a hungry flock, can be extremely dangerous. Buy a repeller, just in case. There are a lot of wild dogs in Crimea. Those with ear tags in cities are mostly harmless, but outside cities...

• Scolopendra

This insect (approx. brown “centipede” about 10-15 cm long) is one of the most dangerous. For a healthy adult, a meeting with her will end with a fever and severe pain, but a child after such a “meeting” will have to immediately look for a doctor. Be carefull! The South Coast has the most such surprises. During the day they hide under pebbles.

• Ticks

Encephalitic individuals are not found here very often, but it is better not to risk it. However, the activity of ticks in Crimea is extremely high - from May to October, even in cities, dozens of them are removed from themselves and dogs. Use special tools and regularly inspect yourself for their presence. It is advisable to get vaccinated 1-1.5 months before travel.

• Karakurt

These poisonous insects are among the most dangerous on the peninsula. Black, large (sometimes as big as a palm), smooth. They are not common, but whoever is warned... If you are bitten, see a doctor immediately!

• Tarantulas

Also rare. If you are bitten, burn the bitten area (so that the poison is thermally decomposed), and consult a doctor.

• Phalanx

A very mobile biting spider, although not poisonous. When attacked, it squeaks. Rarely seen.

• Snakes

The worst thing is the encounter with the steppe viper. When such a meeting occurs, immediately take an antiallergic medicine and see a doctor. A tourniquet cannot be applied.

However, there is no need to panic. Rarely a vacationer can “boast” of meeting these creatures (except that the centipede appears more often than others).

• Poisonous plants - hogweed, aconite, holocolumnar ash

• Stormy days

Winds in Crimea can be very strong. And if there are also rains and thunderstorms, look for a parking place. It is strictly not recommended to walk by the sea in a storm or drive along mountain roads in a downpour. Is it dangerous.

• Water

If you are not sure of its purity, boil it. Or buy it in a store. You can buy water cheaply from special vending machines in cities (1 liter costs 2.5 rubles). You won’t be able to drop anchor in the city of “blue peaks” itself, but you definitely need to “comb” this beautiful place - embankments, pebble beaches, the Voloshin Museum, etc. But you can organize a campsite with a tent in Quiet Bay. Tip: weigh down the tent mounts with buried bottles of sand - you never know when a storm will hit.

Look for it in the springs on Echki-Dag (3 springs, 15-20 minutes from the shore). Firewood is also a problem, so a primus wouldn't hurt. • From Fox Bay towards Meganom We also go downwards - to Pribrezhnoe through Solnechnaya Dolina. Here again we stop, rest and replenish supplies.

How to get there

From Kerch you need to go to Maryevka and then to Yakovenkovo. The road is partly asphalt, then a primer, but well-rolled.

How to get there

You can get to the beach if you turn left, before reaching Koktebel, following the sign - Quiet Bay.

This sandy beach has greyish-yellow fine sand, with a beautiful gradual entry into the water, very suitable for children.

Entry to the beach by car is prohibited; cars must be left in a specially equipped parking lot. There are trash cans, rangers monitor cleanliness and order, and remove garbage. Not far away, on the top of the mountain where Voloshin’s grave is, there is a spring with drinking water. Shrubs and trees such as willow grow on the beach line; there are not many of them, but everyone will find a convenient parking lot, not in the sun. At sunrise or sunset, it’s very cool to go extreme - take a walk to Cape Chameleon. This definitely needs to be done, since the cape is being destroyed every year and next time you may not get there at all. You can replenish food supplies in Koktebel or Ordzhonikidze. There weren’t many people in September, the neighboring tents were about 100m away from us. I recommend this place for long stays with children, of all of them it was the most suitable, safe and comfortable, with crystal clear water and a sandy bottom.

After climbing the top of Ai-Petri and visiting the caves (Geofizicheskaya, Trekhglazka, Yalta), you can set up a tent camp in a stunning place: a huge pine meadow, with a barbecue, table and benches, with a panoramic view of Yalta. It is so beautiful that words cannot describe it. You can get to this amazing place by reaching the village of Okhotniche. This is a closed area of ​​the reserve, but the forester lets you in for money (300 rubles per car), into specially equipped parking areas. It is strictly forbidden to burn fires in Crimea almost everywhere, but in such a parking lot there is a place for a fire pit and a barbecue. Don't forget to grab some meat to barbecue in the evening. You need to take water and food with you, you won’t be able to buy it anywhere. Stunningly clean mountain pine air, galloping squirrels, soaring eagles, mesmerizing mountain cliffs and an incredible view of Yalta at night - all this awaits you in this place.

How to get there

Getting to Fig beach with all the tourist equipment is not so easy, but it is possible. In Balaklava you need to rent a boat for 1000-1500 rubles (there are options for 200 rubles per person, but without things). They will take you there and pick you up on the appointed day and time by calling.

We looked for a parking lot for a long time, because we didn’t want to stand on a cliff for the safety of the children, and further away we had to overcome a steep climb, and we took a whole boatload of things.

Fig Beach is made of large smooth pebbles, there are many large boulders in the water, which makes for excellent diving or snorkeling.

You can also jump from the Zh*pa cliff and walk along numerous trails among the unique vegetation. It was just a miracle for us that there was plankton in the water at night. We have never seen anything like this before in our lives, perhaps you will be lucky and you will see millions of sparks in the water column of the night sea.

Naturally, you need to take water and food with you from Balaklava. But you can also negotiate with the boats - they will bring you provisions.
