Traffic schedule - operating schedule of ferries across the Kerch Strait

The crossing across the Kerch Strait operates around the clock at any time. The Kavkaz port is served by cargo-passenger ferries, and a separate line is also allocated for the transportation of freight vehicles. The movement is carried out according to a schedule and is adjusted depending on the intensity of passenger traffic and weather. Ferries arrive at the port of Crimea 25–45 minutes after leaving the Chushka Spit.

Deviations from the schedule occur when meteorological conditions worsen. In severe storms the crossing is closed. After its resumption, there may be changes in traffic due to the accumulation of vehicles in the queue. Normal operation provides for an hour interval between the departure of ferries from the mainland and from the Kerch port. The first one leaves at midnight. Between 1:00 and 5:30, when the flow of passengers decreases, there is a break of 1.5 hours. During high season, the interval may be reduced to 30 minutes. Ferries are regularly sent for scheduled repairs and technical inspections. During this period there are also changes in the schedule.

The schedule depends on weather conditions.

* Deviations from the schedule are possible during periods of unfavorable weather conditions, as well as in the first days after the weather improves, if there is a large congestion of transport.

If anyone has already traveled through the Kerch crossing in 2014-2015, then they remember the terrible queues and incredible traffic jams in which they had to stand for a long time.

In addition, the opening of the beach season opened up access to Crimea for less well-mannered motorists who bypassed the queue on the side of the road and thereby reduced their waiting time, to the detriment of conscientious citizens. Today the situation has changed dramatically, and to a large extent, thanks to the well-coordinated work of the port team, an increase in the number of ferries, the introduction of new technologies and stricter compliance with queuing rules.

Drives and a queue for the ferry to Crimea

To get directly onto the ferry itself, you have to drive through two storage areas in the form of large parking lots. The first is intended for measuring the car, due to which the amount of the fare is determined, the second, just before loading, for inspecting the car and waiting for your ferry.

The drives are capable of accommodating several thousand machines, which can significantly speed up the queue and reduce waiting. Phenomena such as detour along the side of the road

no longer, when entering the septic tank, the car is already included in the queue without fail and does not disappear from it anywhere. Order is maintained by police squads, and for violation, undisciplined individuals face a considerable fine. There are “preferential” cars, but there are few of them and the queue is not too slow.

You can spend time in storage devices at your discretion: sleeping, eating, playing with children and other little things. The largest drive is the first one, where measurements take place, the second one is smaller, for 200-300 units of equipment, so there are no traffic jams, the waiting time has been reduced from the previous 12-13 hours to an acceptable 4-5 hours.

How long to wait at the crossing?

The waiting time depends on many factors:

1. Is there an electronic ticket or do you buy a ticket at the box office. In the second case, you will first have to stand in line at the ticket office, only then at the settling tanks and on the ferry.

2. Weather. If the sea is stormy, then in any case you will have to wait out the bad weather. Sometimes Kerch is stormy for several days in a row, this also needs to be taken into account.

3. Travel time. When going on vacation at the peak of the influx of tourists, you should be prepared to wait.

Advice! If you want to cross as quickly as possible, you should choose the right time:

1. Do not choose the period of early August - this is the peak season;

2. Arrive at the crossing early in the morning;

3. Try not to get caught in the night shift of staff;

4. Buy an electronic ticket.

The minimum queue waiting time is 2-2.5 hours, taking into account the one-hour loading time on the ferry.

Electronic queue for the ferry to Crimea

The introduction of electronic queues has significantly reduced ferry waiting time. An electronic ticket is purchased in advance on the port’s website and is calculated according to the time “plus three minutes,” that is, the user informs in advance about the period in which he plans to travel. This helps to calculate the load on the ferry, which means reducing waiting time.

Technically, each ferry has a number of slots (up to 80%) that can be purchased in advance, which is why it is recommended to buy an electronic ticket at home, calculating the approximate time of arrival at the ferry.

Holders of electronic tickets get into a separate queue, moving 30-60% faster than usual. However, if it is not possible to access the Internet, there is a standard option for purchasing a ticket at the port ticket office. It is for such travelers that 20% of the slots not posted on the site are reserved.

Recently we were in Golubitskaya and Kuchugury, and from there it’s a stone’s throw to the port of Kavkaz. And Maxim and I decided to stop by the port to see with our own eyes what was going on there, how many people were going to Crimea, how a single ticket to Crimea worked, what the queues were like for the crossing from the port of Kavkaz and how much the entire ferry trip to Crimea cost.

Oddly enough, despite the promotion of holidays in Crimea, there is very little information about how to get there, how much and how much. I don't know why. I correct the situation and write about what I saw.

How to get to the port Kavkaz

Everything is easy here - you go to the Temryuk district, turn onto Golubitskaya, then go towards Peresyp, Kuchugur, then comes the village of Ilyich. But just behind Ilyich there is a port. You will see the sign “Port Kavkaz, Marine Station”. Turn off to the Marine Station.

Road to Port Caucasus

You drive past the stop control and it’s only a short distance to the port. On the way, we saw many dry closets standing on the side of the road. I was surprised what...they were doing here. Maxim suggested that these were traces of former queues for the ferry. People stood for 12 and 14 hours, so these toilets were installed for them.

cars are queuing

And here is the beginning of the line. The cars stand quietly, and the police are nearby. When we asked how long we needed to stand in line for the ferry to Crimea, the police told us that it would be 5-6 hours, no less. Drivers said that now they need to stand for 2-3 hours, no more. We did not check which of them was right - our plans did not include standing in the port for several hours. One thing is clear - there is no longer such a wild queue as in past years. They say this is due to the fact that more ferries began to operate - at least four. We were told that loading onto the ferry takes 30 minutes, and unloading is faster in just 10 minutes.

We parked the car and walked to the sea station. Passengers without cars calmly walked to the ticket office and took tickets. There was literally a line of several people.

About a single ticket to Crimea

I have already written about purchasing a single ticket and its cost in the article “”, so I will not repeat myself. Let me just say that buses with stickers “ Transportation of passengers on a single ticket“There were a lot at the seaport, both big and small.

Here is a video from the sea station about a single ticket

In general, everything there is very organized, which surprised me, to be honest. I expected to see irritated, tired drivers, naughty children, noise, shouting and jostling. In fact, there was peace and quiet all around. People who arrived from Crimea with a single ticket were immediately distributed by sea terminal employees onto buses, while the rest quickly evaporated in all directions. There were a lot of toilets, but the smell coming from them was normal, like a station smell, so I didn’t go inside.

On the territory of the station there are several cafes, ATMs and a ticket office where you can purchase bus tickets to Temryuk, Anapa or another city in Kuban.

My conclusion: You can go to Crimea from the Krasnodar Territory in your own car or just as a passenger on a ferry. It's not that expensive. In any case, you will have to stand in line. A single ticket to Crimea is valid. There are many people who want to get to Crimea from the Krasnodar Territory.

I think many people have noticed that I haven't been on my blog for the last week. The fact is that I went by car to Crimea for several days. I visited Kerch, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Alushta and visited Koktebel for a short time. In this article I will talk about holiday in Crimea in summer 2014. What to expect and what to prepare for.

I did not go to Crimea alone and not even in my own car. Grisha, the brother of my girlfriend Veta, needed to go there on business matters. I went as a passenger for the company. At the same time, explore and relax.

Now Crimea is Russian territory. In fact, our neighbors (Krasnodar Territory). But there is no land border, there is a ferry crossing across the Kerch Strait. I am sure that this is what raises most of the questions among people who are deciding whether to fly by plane or drive a car.

How long does it take to cross the Kerch Strait?

The Kerch Strait itself is quite small. The ferry takes 20-30 minutes at most, but it takes quite a lot of time to overcome it. What are the problems here:

  1. In total, 3 ferries are used: two small ones, designed for 20-25 cars and one larger one (Greek), carries about 50 passenger cars, but it usually ships trucks.
  2. Ferries take quite a long time to unload and load.
  3. As far as I understand, it is not possible to launch more ferries. The pier, both on one side and on the other, is designed for only 2 ferries. In addition, the strait is narrow, and it will not be possible to launch more ferries into it.

During the May holidays, people stood at this crossing for days (without exaggeration). In the spring, an acquaintance drove and stood for 12 hours. We went early on a weekday morning. We left Krasnodar at 5 a.m., were at the crossing at 8 a.m. We crossed to Crimea by 1 p.m. We could have done it earlier, but there wasn’t enough space on the ferry.

The crossing in the opposite direction took literally 2 hours. There were fewer cars, and the organization on Kerch’s side was many times better than on ours. Of course, during the season there will be an order of magnitude more cars, so expect the worst and hope for the best.

There are toilets and shops there, so you can easily endure a few hours of waiting.

Cost of ferry crossing to Crimea depends on the length of the car:

  • If less than 5 meters, then to Kerch - about 1800 rubles, from Kerch - 1488 rubles (the receipt has been preserved).
  • If it’s more than 5 meters, then it’s about 1000 more expensive. I can’t say for sure, because we kept within these notorious 5 meters.

The length is determined “by eye” when issuing a receipt for payment (you need to go to the cashier with it). In addition, you need to pay separately for each passenger. From Kerch a ticket for one person costs 143 rubles. In the opposite direction - at the same level, maybe 20 rubles more expensive.

Main! Be sure to take your passport! They won't sell a ticket without a passport! There is no customs, but passport control remains. It's like buying tickets at a train station.

Our first destination was. We stayed there for 1.5 days. During this time, I managed to explore the main attractions of the city and get caught in a heavy downpour with thunderstorms and hail. I got wet through and nearly drowned my phone! Their station there is located in a lowland, so there was so much water there! Up to my ankles)))

In general, the city made a depressing impression. It seems that after the collapse of the USSR they simply forgot about him. The roads are terribly broken. Just ride on a tank! In the center it’s even more or less, but you go a little to the side and that’s it... You can leave the suspension there.

Most city parks are abandoned. Yes, there are stalls with ice cream and cotton candy, but the park itself is absolutely not well maintained. The largest park named after Gagarin has a real jungle! The pond is covered in algae. Reed is taller than me. There is also a river flowing there, so it is all overgrown.

The canals in the city are also abandoned. There is a lot of garbage in them and only frogs croak. The only bright spot is the Children's Park. It has a small zoo where lions, tigers, camels, monkeys, bears and other animals live. It’s really interesting to go there! You can even hand feed the animals. Everyone except predators, because they can chop off half a hand)))

I would like to believe that certain funds will be invested in Simferopol that will benefit it. In fact, a city can be beautiful if it is put in order.

The cost of a room in a private hotel near the railway station: 1000 rubles.

The second place we went to was Sevastopol. City of military glory of Russia. After the murder of Simferopol, I was very skeptical about the trip to Sevastopol. I thought that everything was neglected there too, but I was wrong!

- a very beautiful city with a wide variety of attractions. First of all, we took a boat excursion around the bays. Everything is beautiful and informative. I really liked it! This pleasure costs 200 rubles per person.

The boat fills up quickly, so you won’t have to wait long for the excursion. A couple with a child was traveling with us on the boat. We arrived from Moscow. In Crimea we rented a car and drove along the coast. They say that one plane ticket costs 7,500 rubles.

After viewing the panoramas, we went down another road again to the embankment. There we sat down in a cafe to eat. For 380 rubles we bought a hefty pizza, which the two of us could barely finish. Tasty and not so expensive.

We decided not to stay here for the night, but to go to the resort town of Alushta.

Coast

The road along the coast is very picturesque, but at the same time very dangerous. Especially from Alushta to Koktebel - it’s very dreary to drive along the serpentine roads, I even started getting motion sick. Although there is a beautiful view of both the sea and the coastal mountains. From time to time there are small resort towns, boarding houses and even beaches in the immediate vicinity of the road, so you can go out and swim.

Alushta itself is not that big. There is an embankment and beaches (rocky pebbles, and larger stones in the sea). The sea is very clean, but at the same time cold. At first glance the water was 18 degrees, but this is the end of May, so by summer it will still warm up.

There are a large number of private hotels near the embankment. We stopped in one of these. A room for three (double bed and sofa) costs 1,200 rubles per night. A very nice room - with all the amenities: a good bathroom, TV, refrigerator, kettle and even some kitchen utensils. The owners did not say the cost of the room during the season; they themselves have not yet decided. Depends on the influx of vacationers.

In general, everything looks at least no worse than the Black Sea resorts of the Krasnodar Territory.

Important questions

And here I have collected a number of points that may be of interest to you if you decide to go on vacation to Crimea in the summer of 2014.

Hryvnia and ruble.

At the time of my trip, rubles and hryvnia were in circulation. At the same time, hryvnias are the overwhelming majority, that is, rubles were accepted everywhere, but there was simply nowhere to exchange big money or get change. Everywhere it is necessary to give according to calculations. For example, I managed to exchange 5,000 rubles only at the Simferopol Zoo.

In most stores, prices are already indicated in rubles. If the price is indicated only in hryvnia, then the exchange rate is 1 hryvnia = 3 rubles.

From June 1, the hryvnia will be withdrawn from circulation, and Crimea will completely switch to rubles, so this should not be a problem by the season.

Petrol.

The price of 95 gasoline ranges from 37 to 42 rubles. There are practically no Russian gas stations. There are only local and Ukrainian ones. Of my acquaintances, I only met TNK a couple of times. I can’t say anything about the quality of gasoline - they filled it with 92. The car didn’t cough, it drove normally.

In general, there are no problems with gasoline; gas stations are very common.

Product prices.

The products are still mainly of Ukrainian origin. I think this will change and over time Russian goods will gradually begin to dominate the market. The price is at the same level as our stores. The assortment is large, I did not notice that there was any shortage.

Attitude towards Russia among the local population.

During the entire trip I never heard Ukrainian spoken. All locals speak Russian. Even the dialect is similar to Moscow. This surprised me very much))) The attitude towards Russians in Crimea is very good. They already know which numbers correspond to which region. They call us neighbors.

The license plates of local cars are Ukrainian. True, many people cover the Ukrainian flag with the Russian tricolor. Many people have a small Russian flag or St. George’s ribbon in their car.

In general, the flags of the Russian Federation are already hung everywhere: both on government buildings and on the balconies of ordinary houses.

Crimean wines and cognac.

Separately, I would like to say a few words about alcohol.

Crimean wines are famous for their quality. In the company store in Alushta they are very cheap - from 100 to 200 rubles. I didn't wet myself! Indeed, Massandra wine costs that much in branded stores. We were pleasantly surprised.

Champagne New Suite - from 420 to 500 rubles.

Cognac Koktebel 0.5 liter 3 stars - 220 rubles; 5 stars - 270 rubles. There are gift ones in a beautiful tin, seven-year-old ones - they range from 800 rubles to 1500 rubles. Cognac was bought at the Koktebel company store. There are several of them - finding them won't be a problem.

In total, I bought myself 7 bottles of different strengths. Not for the sake of drunkenness, but to have something to drink about))))

Cellular.

Unfortunately, in terms of cellular communications, Crimea is still Ukraine, which means you will have to talk while roaming. You need to be prepared for this! I activated an option at MTS for bonuses, through which they could call me on my phone at the price of my home region.

It seems that Russian operators will start working as soon as next year.

Well, when I arrived home, I was met by my beloved girl and this little creature who now settled with us.

That's all. Thank you for your attention. If you have any questions, write in the comments to the article.

Tickets

When booking electronic coupons on the gosparom.ru page, cars pass through in a separate stream, bypassing the general queue. The website lists six-hour time slots to choose from. It is advisable to arrive to crossing one hour before the start of your time period. After registration and payment, tickets must be printed or saved on a smartphone for presentation in the registration area. You must have the originals of all documents with you to receive boarding passes that give you the right to board on ferries. At the entrance to the storage area, located on the A-290 highway before the turn to the Chushka Spit, payment coupons are issued to motorists following in the “live” queue.

Current route

The current situation in Ukraine does not allow free passage through its territory to the Crimean Peninsula. In addition to crossing two borders, you will also have frequent stops at checkpoints. Therefore, today the most relevant route from Russia to Crimea and back is the Caucasus Crimea crossing. Fares will depend on the size and weight of vehicles.

Procedure for entry to the ferry ports "Crimea" and "Caucasus"

The formation of the queue at the port of Kavkaz takes place at the storage facility in the village of Ilyich. When entering it, you are given two coupons - one with the queue number, the second for measuring transport. At the end of the drive, using these coupons you buy a ferry ticket to Crimea at the ticket office. From here the cars are sent in batches to the storage area in front of the ferry. On the Parom 24 website you can find out about any transport transported - characteristics and total cost. The ferry to Crimea runs every hour. The greatest activity occurs during the day in good and calm weather. At night and in the morning, flights may be slightly less frequent due to staff shift changes. Visit the Parom 24 website, where there is a detailed ferry schedule to Crimea. If you are traveling from Crimea to Russia, then there are three storage facilities organized for you. Two main ones are the port of Crimea and the Fishing Port, and one additional one is the territory of the old airport. The additional drive works on busy days. In any case, the best way to get to Crimea is the Kerch crossing. The cost will pleasantly please you, and the road is much simpler and safer.

Freight transportation

How much does a ferry to Crimea cost? For each type of transport there will be a corresponding price. For passengers, cars and freight transport, the corresponding prices. Freight crossing to Crimea is carried out by cargo ferries “Sevastopol”, “Novorossiysk” and “Annenkov”. The first two are capable of transporting 175 passengers and 92 trucks each, and the third is capable of transporting 25 railway cars. Freight ferries to Crimea may deviate from schedule during periods of adverse weather conditions. After the reconstruction of the ferry crossing, the problems of organizing logistics were successfully resolved. Electronic terminals have been introduced, additional storage areas have been built, and infrastructure has been improved (restaurants, cafes, toilets, showers). Thanks to this, getting on a cargo ferry to Crimea and using the crossing has become much easier and more convenient.
