In recent years, popular Broadway musicals have begun moving from New York to Las Vegas. The following are currently open or preparing to open on the Strip:
"Mamma Mia"
“Mamma Mia” (“Mama Mia”) is a cheerful, technically perfect performance, a global mega-hit, one of the most sensational shows. This musical is based on the songs of the ABBA group. The musical tells the story of a 20-year-old girl who dreams of seeing her father at least once in her life. She selects three possible candidates and invites them... to the wedding. This is a bright and dynamic performance, a memorable vaudeville with a funny plot, excellent choreography and favorite music (Venue of the show: Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Duration: 90 minutes).
"Phantom of the Opera"
“Phantom of the Opera” (“Phantom of the Opera”) - Production took place in the new complex “The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas”.
The producers brought in Jim Steinmeyer, who had worked with David Copperfield, to help refine some of the theatrical stunts.
The production takes place in a custom-built theater, in an interior that takes into account the larger size of the hall than the Paris Opera, Lair of the Phantom turned out to be the most grandiose of such musicals staged to date. In Las Vegas, Phantom was cut to 95 minutes (instead of the 130 minutes of the London and Broadway production).
"The Beatles"
A Cirque du Soleil show called “Love”, dedicated to the history of The Beatles.
The show's plot is part chronological and part fictional journey into the era when four Liverpool men conquered the world. During the performance, photographs of the band members and episodes from their last concert are projected onto the walls of the hall. Fragments of interviews and work recordings are played.
The show opens with the song “Because”, and throughout the show “Yesterday”, “Revolution”, “Come Together” and other hits are heard. Aerial acrobats, stilt performers, break dancers and skateboarders perform on stage.
They play characters from the songs “Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Herat Club Band", "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", "Lady Madonna" and the inhabitants of "Octopus's Garden". The work featured Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney, Olivia Harrison and Yo-ko Ono.
For the screenings, a special hall for 2,000 spectators was built at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas.
"Le Reve"
