Yuzhno-Primorsky Park is located in the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg. The territory of 58 hectares is limited by the streets of Valor, Zakharova, Peterhof Highway and the Duderhof Canal.

History of South Primorsky Park

The park was planted in 1970 for the 100th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin and was named in his honor. Wide alley overlooking the coast Gulf of Finland, the architects divided the territory into two parts - the reclaimed northern and regular southern. At the entrance to the park, a monument was erected with the inscription “100 years of V.I. Lenin”, and a little further – the monument “Hammer and Sickle”.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the name of the park was changed to Yuzhno-Primorsky, and in 1999 the monument to the Soviet era was dismantled. In 2005, for the holiday of May 9, the city authorities restored the fountain at the main entrance and changed the inscription on the monument - now it says “60 years of Victory.”

Entertainment inYuzhno-Primorskypark

There are many bodies of water on the territory of the South Primorsky Park - at the boat station, visitors can rent boats and catamarans for sailing. There are recreation areas and infrastructure facilities: cafes, comfortable benches, trash cans, toilets.

Most of the park is occupied by the “Planet of Summer” attraction area, where a team of animators works daily. Face painting specialists paint children's faces with bright colors. Funny clowns give performances and offer rides on a train or carousel, jumping on trampolines or swimming in pools. After sending a child to the attractions, adults can take a ticket to the Ferris wheel or rent sports equipment.

The second park area is an untouched forest with narrow paths and spreading trees. Those who seek solitude and peace walk here.

In winter, an outdoor skating rink is installed in the park. Nearby there is a warm locker room, a cafe serving hot drinks and food, and a skate rental point.

How to get there

The Primorsky Park is open to the public 24 hours a day, but the attractions can only be accessed during the opening hours of Planet of Summer: on weekends from 11 to 22 hours, on weekdays from 12 to 22. The ticket office is open until 21.00.

You can get to the park by car - there is convenient parking in front of the entrance. The second option is to use bus 162 or minibus 650A. The nearest stop is “South Primorsky Park”.
