Where to go to the emirates by sea. Holidays in the UAE: which emirate is better? Shopping fans will not be disappointed

Hot eastern countries are becoming increasingly popular among tourists. But before you go on a trip, you need to resolve several important issues. For example, if the Arab Emirates are chosen for travel, where is it better to go and the exact purpose of the trip. After all, a suitable vacation spot will depend on it.

If recently only very wealthy people could count on holidays in the Emirates, now the situation has changed. The demand for tours is growing, and along with it the number of offers, including those quite affordable for ordinary tourists. For travelers from Russia, there is even a simplified procedure for obtaining a visa, right at the airport after arrival.

The Emirates are so different from each other that an unprepared tourist, finding himself in an unfamiliar place, may find himself slightly perplexed. For example, Sharjah is famous for the fact that it is almost impossible to get alcohol in local stores. Including tourists. Therefore, couples with small children will feel good here.

But Fujairah is full of all-inclusive hotels that are located close to the beaches. This place is more suitable for lovers of active recreation.

Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE and is considered one of the richest cities in the world. And for many people this is the best option for relaxation. There is a lot of greenery, good hotels, and the atmosphere is calm and measured. One of the best hotels is Emirates Palace 5*, and among the inexpensive ones is Corniche Hotel Abu Dhabi 5*. On Yas Island, which was created artificially, there are quite comfortable hotels for tourists who prefer active water recreation.

On the same island there is the Ferrari World theme park, with an area of 200 thousand square meters. m. It includes a car museum and many attractions.

Also in Abu Dhabi is the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the largest mosque in the UAE, which is a local landmark.

Dubai

It is considered one of the undisputed leaders of beach holidays.

Downtown Dubai is a prestigious area where the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, is located. Once on its roof, you can admire the incredible contrast between the panorama of the city and the harsh desert.

In addition, this place will be appreciated by all shopping lovers, because the world's largest shopping center, Dubai Mall, is located right here. Opposite is Souk Al Bahar, another shopping center stylized as an Arab market. Here you can buy many national goods.

Fujairah

One of the youngest emirates, which is becoming increasingly popular among tourists. Due to the fact that it is reliably protected from the hot winds of the desert, and its coastline stretches for 90 km, it provides an excellent opportunity for families with small children to relax.

Ras Al Khaimah

It is located in the northern part of the country, so it is ideal for people who cannot tolerate heat and dry air. The cost of hotels and entertainment is lower than in other emirates, while the quality of services provided is in no way inferior.

Tourists are offered a wide range of entertainment: diving, hiking, excursions. It is also worth noting the hot mineral springs, to which people from many countries come in the hope of improving their health.

Umm Al Quwain

A quiet and provincial emirate, which in its area noticeably lags behind the rest. However, this does not prevent it from being as hospitable as other local properties. There are very clean beaches, palm groves and sand dunes that will surprise anyone with their beauty.

In addition to walking among amazing landscapes, vacationers can visit the Dreamland water park or interact with dolphins and horses. Of course, young children will enjoy this most. And adults will certainly be interested in camel racing.

Sharjah

A rather modest and cozy place to relax, ideal for people who love peace and quiet. There is not much entertainment here, and quite strict requirements are imposed on the behavior of people, including tourists.

Vacationers who want an adventure just need to catch a taxi. In 20 minutes you can find yourself in places full of entertainment and noise.

Ajman

This place is the best place to get acquainted with the history of this Middle Eastern country. There are many museums here that display ancient artifacts. Located 10 km from Sharjah.

What time of year is best to go to the UAE?

The UAE is a state where a dry subtropical climate prevails. That is, there is practically no rain here, and in spring and summer there is intense heat. This time is more suitable for people in good health who love to relax under the scorching rays of the sun. Between May and September the temperature in the shade reaches +50°C. It is unlikely that such conditions will have a good effect on the condition of the elderly, children or those who suffer from cardiovascular diseases.

But in October-November the weather becomes more favorable. The average temperature is about +30°C. Climate improvement causes higher prices for tours and accommodation. And only from December to March can one observe an equal decrease in both air temperature (up to +25°C) and the cost of travel packages.

This option is more suitable for those who prefer a moderate, even cool climate, while being a supporter of a budget holiday. The most important thing is that a slight drop in temperature does not in any way affect the beach season, which is still in full swing. In April, the air temperature begins to gradually rise again.

Where to relax with small children

Families with children should take a closer look at those emirates that have developed appropriate entertainment. For example, in Ras Al Khaimah there is the Dreamland water park, where up to 7 thousand children can relax every day. There are many water attractions, a lot of greenery, as well as sunbathing areas.

But while on vacation in Dubai, you can visit the Wonderland amusement park, whose area is more than 180 thousand square meters. km. It is ideal for a family holiday. Teens will love the Ferrari World theme park on Yas Island.

Regardless of the characteristics of each emirate, their advantages and disadvantages, the final choice of holiday destination is up to the traveler. There are so many resorts in this state that everyone can choose something suitable for themselves.

Tired of the harsh climate, an increasing number of citizens seek to bask in the sun, regardless of the time of year. When looking for a destination, tourists choose an exotic country that amazingly combines oriental traditions with high standards of service. Holidays in the city attract with its exotic originality and developed infrastructure, allowing you to realize the dream of an oriental fairy tale.

The desire to visit the country of the sheikhs is easily realized today. Snow-white sandy beaches, amazing skyscrapers, luxurious and giant shopping centers await tourists.

UAE: location and climate

An area of 83.6 thousand square kilometers is located in the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. The federal state borders Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman and Qatar. Washed by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and two gulfs (Oman and Persian), the UAE delights vacationers with a subtropical climate. Warm and sunny on the exotic coast all year round. 20 degrees Celsius is the minimum air temperature. For those who can hardly stand the heat, holidays in this region will be the best time to travel. Excellent weather and comfortable temperatures will allow you to fully enjoy your useful time.

And in hot weather, from May to September, favorable conditions are provided for vacationers on the hotel premises. For the eastern coast of the mountainous regions of the country, in hot weather, saving winds soften the climate.

7 emirates - choose any

An attractive tourist destination attracts holidaymakers all year round. The state represents a confederation of emirates, which includes Sharjah, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, Umm al Quwain and Ras al Khaimah, each of which differs in size, identity, local laws, cost of recreation, infrastructure and attractions .

When choosing a holiday in the United Arab Emirates, people take a balanced approach to their financial capabilities, because on the tourist map of the world this destination is considered one of the most expensive options.

  • The largest in area is Abu Dhabi, and the city of the same name is also the capital of the state. This emirate is focused on business tourists. Everything here amazes with luxury; incredible skyscrapers and man-made islands are admirable.
  • Dubai, the second largest emirate, is liberal. Vacationers with different levels of income will be able to relax in both luxury hotels and budget hotels. Anyone can climb the tallest building in the world - the Burj Khalifa (828 m) or the record-breaking Rose Tower hotel (333 m). Skiing on ski slopes of any difficulty in an indoor ski complex, operating all year round, or having fun in giant water parks measuring 17 and 6 hectares will leave an indelible impression on those visiting the United Arab Emirates. Dubai, where a holiday will enrich you with impressions, attracts with the palaces of the sheikhs.
  • Visiting the emirate of Sharjah means visiting the coast of the Indian Ocean and the Persian Gulf at the same time. Most often, gentle waves and golden sand attract tourists, because these are the associations that the United Arab Emirates evokes among those going on vacation. 4* hotel is a mid-price beach hotel, which is most often chosen by tourists who prefer tranquility and comfort.
  • The delightful greenery of the emirate of Ras al Khaimah captivates with its exquisite design. This beautiful place is washed by the gentle waves of the Persian Gulf. The picturesque landscape is attractive to tourists.
  • Umm al-Quwain is considered the quietest and most provincial emirate, attracting vacationers with its architectural monuments. The way of life and national traditions of the local residents have been preserved here.
  • Tourists who avoid large crowds prefer to relax in Fujairah. Resort areas are attractive for fans of beach holidays and mountain climbing. Hotels attract with all-inclusive meals.
  • The smallest emirate of Ajman, located half an hour from Dubai airport, is rich in mineral water reserves that supply the Gulf countries. Here tourists enjoy visiting the National Historical Museum.

Mentality of local residents

Before traveling to another country, it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with its national characteristics. An unceremonious attitude towards a woman (foreigner or local - it makes no difference) is unacceptable here, which cannot be said about Egypt or Turkey.

Tourists from all over the world strive to get a quality holiday in the United Arab Emirates, but in order not to overshadow the trip, you should adhere to the rules:

· in a country with strict Muslim morals, there is a “prohibition” law, and it is better to abstain from alcohol in public places;

· It is prohibited to transport strong drinks from one emirate to another;

· alcohol as a gift is a bad sign;

· you cannot sunbathe topless, only in a swimsuit; it is also not recommended to be in it outside the pool or beach;

· show respect to Arab women (taking pictures of them is tantamount to insulting; it is forbidden to take a married woman by the arm);

· when entering a house or mosque, be sure to take off your shoes;

· Always tip taxi drivers.

Beach tourism

Each emirate has a different color of sand on the coast (from dazzling white to shades of red). Well-maintained and clean beaches attract tourists. The area is equipped for a comfortable pastime with sun loungers and sun umbrellas. City beaches can be either paid or free. There is also an area for family recreation. The coast of Abu Dhabi is marked with the EU flag for cleanliness.

In Dubai, on the beaches of Al Mamzar and Jumeirah Beach Park, one day of the week is considered women's day, so the presence of men is prohibited.

Fans of water sports should visit the coastline of Fujairah. A beach holiday in Sharjah will captivate you with picturesque views of coral reefs and delightful blue bays. On a yacht you can visit deserted places, the pristine beauty of which will leave an indelible impression.

United Arab Emirates: holidays with children

It is not only business tourism that attracts people to the actively developing eastern country. Delight and a sea of positive emotions guarantee tourists a holiday in the United Arab Emirates.

Feedback from families who visited the exotic region can be heard only positive. Long history and high technology intertwine here. Vacationers appreciate the ban on alcohol in Sharjah, where peace is guaranteed for families with children, and they also like the quiet emirate of Ras al-Khaimah with the wonderful Dreamland water park. A friendly attitude towards Russian-speaking tourists makes holidays in the United Arab Emirates more popular every year. And tourists are guaranteed safety and comfort on the Arabian coast.

Do you prefer active recreation?

Tourists who are tired of swimming and relaxing in the sun will be able to gain new impressions.

An exciting program is provided for fans of active pastime, making an unforgettable vacation in the United Arab Emirates. The reviews are impressive, because not every country will offer such variety:

· desert rally in cars;

Camel or horseback riding;

· windsurfing, golf, diving, archery;

· racing on speed boats;

· racing on purebred Arabian horses;

· camel racing;

· catching crabs under the cover of night;

· falconry or “Birds of Prey Show”.

Means of transportation in the country

It is customary to use a taxi in the UAE, because public transport is poorly developed. For women, there are cars painted pink, where only women work as drivers. The fare costs five to ten dirhams, on the bus - 1.5. There is also a water taxi (boats - “abras”), providing communication between the banks of the Dubai Canal.

Tourists over 21 years of age can rent a car. To do this, you need an international driver's license issued more than a year ago. Insurance is required. The minimum rental period is one day. A rental car is most often equipped with a siren warning of speeding. It is permissible to drive 100 km/h on highways; in populated areas - no more than 60 km/h.

The country's hotel fund

Settle in the city or on the beach? Tourists decide this issue based on individual preferences. The United Arab Emirates is famous for its developed infrastructure. The hotels guarantee an impeccable holiday. Luxury apartments are offered to tourists on the coast of Dubai, in prestigious areas of Jumeirah and Sharjah, where room prices are very high. In Abu Dhabi, buildings are located on the shore, because there is not enough land, the beach line is narrow because of this, which reduces the cost of living. Ajman has a weak hotel base, so it is attractive for budget tourists. In Fujairah, food is provided, allowing you not to worry about lunch and dinner, because in most other emirates the hotel only provides breakfast for the guest.

Tourists who cannot stand the heat are recommended to go on vacation in the spring. In the United Arab Emirates in April, the temperature is very comfortable, allowing you to fully enjoy your trip. Each of the hotels has a swimming pool where guests can relax with pleasure. Almost all city hotels offer a free shuttle to the beach.

Shopping fans will not be disappointed

The unique country attracts tourists with sales and attractive discounts. Low duties and favorable laws have made the UAE attractive to vacationers seeking not only to update their wardrobe, but also household appliances, electronics, computers, and jewelry. Holidays in January allow you to purchase new items from world brands at the annual shopping festival in Dubai.

It is difficult to name a well-known brand that is not represented in the range of goods sold at an affordable price. New Year's tours are not so good for lovers of beach holidays, but for fans of excursion trips, wide prospects open up.

Features of national cuisine

Due to established religious peculiarities, pork is unacceptable in the diet of local residents. Arabic cuisine is replete with various types of meat; tourists will be offered dishes made from beef, veal, lamb, goat or poultry on the menu of the hotel restaurant. Guzi, shawarma, kustilleta, kebeh, meshui-mushakkal, biryani-ajaj, adobe prepared with spices or nuts will delight hotel visitors. Seafood lovers will be surprised by makbus samak, biryani samak, zubaidi, sharks and crustaceans cooked on charcoal. Vegetarians will appreciate fermented milk products, vegetables, and herbs in grape leaves.

Traditional Arabian will amaze gourmets. And those with a sweet tooth will like pistachio or milk pudding, sorbet, and Asyda dessert.

Each hotel is proud of its chef, who adequately represents national cuisine in the menu of his restaurant.

UAE currency and language

They speak Arabic and English in the country. The influx of Russian-speaking tourists is forcing workers in hotels, restaurants, and shops to master the language of the Slavs. In most hotel complexes, the staff knows the necessary set of phrases to help tourists understand.

Dirham is the national currency of the UAE and is equivalent to 100 fils. US dollars are also actively used for payments, but it is better to exchange them at the bank for local currency.

The cost of a trip to the country of oriental charm depends on the time of year, the location of the resort, the star rating of the hotel, and the class of service. Although it is believed that a tour to the UAE is an expensive pleasure, you can purchase it if you wish. Today it is possible to choose an option for a budget or luxury holiday in a magical land.

Once upon a time, only wealthy tourists could afford a trip to the UAE. In recent years, tours to the UAE have become very popular and quite affordable. And the simplification of the visa regime for Russians (a visa can now be obtained directly at the airport of this country upon arrival) has become an additional incentive to travel to the Emirates.

At the same time, many tourists have a question: where is the best place to go to the UAE? The answer to this question depends on the purpose of your trip.

If you have never been to the country of the most expensive hotels, the tallest skyscrapers, the coolest water parks and the most unstoppable shopping, read this article. And then you will understand where it is better to go to the UAE with a child, which resorts and hotels to choose for a beach holiday, and where to go for unbridled shopping.

Where to go in the UAE and what to do there

As you know, the UAE consists of several emirates, which have their own characteristics: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and Ras Al Khaimah.

All of them are of interest to tourists, each has its own zest. But what some tourists will like may be an unpleasant surprise for others.

For example, the prohibition law in force in Sharjah prohibits the serving of alcohol in hotels and the sale of alcohol in shops. Even tourists. Not even Muslims.

Do you like all-inclusive holidays? Great! There are such hotels in Fujairah. And they are all located almost right on the beach. Only there will be nowhere to go for a walk outside the hotel premises.

So, let's figure out all these emirates.

Abu Dhabi: a green city

So, Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE. By all accounts, this is a very interesting holiday option. Firstly, in my memory Abu Dhabi remained very green, compared to Dubai, and, secondly, more calm and measured.

There are many good hotels to stay in Abu Dhabi. And the most famous of them is Emirates Palace 5*, which reminded me of the Hermitage - with its size and interiors.

I can also recommend the following hotels: InterContinental Abu Dhabi 5*, Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana 5*, Al Raha Beach Hotel 5*, Beach Rotana Hotel & Towers 5*, Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort 5*, Le Meridien Abu Dhabi 4*.

Inexpensive options: Al Ain Rotana 5*, Golden Tulip Al Jazira Hotel & Resort 5*, Grand Millennium Al Wahda 5*, Corniche Hotel Abu Dhabi 5*, Crowne Plaza Abu Dhabi 5*.

Perhaps the best hotels for tourists now are hotels on Yas Island, which is an artificial island and was built relatively recently - in 2009. Because it has the best beaches.

See these hotels here: Radisson Blu Hotel Abu Dhabi Yas Island 5* Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi 5*, Yas Island Rotana Abu Dhabi 4*.

And that's where the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix race track and the largest indoor Ferrari theme park .

The Yas Waterworld complex is also located on Yas Island. On an area of 15 hectares, there are 43 attractions, slides and entertainment that will not leave anyone indifferent.

Another landmark of the UAE, the largest mosque - Sheikh Zayed Mosque - also located in Abu Dhabi.

So, there is definitely something to do and see in Abu Dhabi.

Mom, I'm in Dubai!

The Emirate of Dubai is the most visited emirate by Russians. This is where many tourists fly to shop and look at the incredible architecture. When our plane approached Dubai airport, it seemed to me that we had arrived on another planet - the view from the window was so amazing!

The Burj Al Arab sail hotel, which has received the 7-star category and has become the hallmark of the UAE, is located in Dubai. Like the hotel Atlantis The Palm 5 * , located on an artificial artificial island in the shape of a giant palm tree.

And of course, the famous tower Burj Khalifa - a skyscraper with a height of 828 meters, the tallest building in the world! Climb to its observation deck and you will see a truly fantastic sight!

And the fountain show below, near the tower, which takes place in the evenings, will be the final chord in your Dubai sightseeing program. After which you can safely move on to shopping!

And you won’t have any problems with shopping in Dubai - in terms of the number of shopping centers, it is ahead of all other emirates combined. Each of these shopping centers is a small microcosm that has everything: shops and restaurants of all kinds, beauty salons, cinema halls, aquariums, children's attractions and even a ski slope and tubing track! You can spend every day in a new shopping center.

For a beach holiday, Dubai is also quite suitable. If funds allow, book yourself one of the hotels in Jumeirah or Palma.

If not, take a city hotel in Bar Dubai or Deire . They do not have their own beaches, but for swimming on the coast of Dubai there are two well-known beach complexes, which are used by vacationers of most city hotels - Al Mamzar Park And Jumeirah Beach Park. Most city hotels in Dubai offer a free (less often paid) transfer to these beaches.

Sharjah

Dubai's closest neighbor is the emirate of Sharjah. This emirate also has its own airport, and many charter flights from Russia fly to Sharjah airport.

What you might like holiday in Sharjah ? Advantages of this emirate:

  • Quick access to the infrastructure and attractions of the Emirate of Dubai
  • Holiday prices in Sharjah are generally 30% lower than similar hotel prices in Dubai
  • Sharjah beaches with imported white or local yellow sand are clean, safe and great for families with children
  • Sharjah has a large selection of hotels with direct access to the beach

Beach hotels here are cheaper than in Dubai, but they are not as luxurious, sometimes quite modest.

Some good ones we can recommend are: Hilton Sharjah 5*, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah 4*, Lavender Hotel Sharjah 4*, Lou Lou'a Beach Resort 3*, Al Seef Beach Hotel 3*, Beach Hotel Sharjah 3*, Sharjah Premiere Hotel & Resort 3*, Citymax Sharjah 3*, Verona Resort Sharjah 3*.

Sharjah has its own shopping centers, and the ones in Dubai are just a stone's throw away. The only thing that lovers of having a blast should remember is that there is a “prohibition” law in this Emirate. You can't even appear on the streets here while intoxicated, let alone in public places.

Ajman

Modest and calm Ajman is located just 10 km from Sharjah.

Its territory is the smallest of all seven regions of the country. But there is no “prohibition” in Ajman. On the contrary, the Hole in the wall store, next to the Ajman Beach Hotel, sells imported alcoholic beverages without any restrictions. True, exporting them from the territory of the Principality of Ajman is strictly prohibited.

Ajman's small size is more than compensated by its nature: beautiful palm trees, snow-white beaches and an atmosphere of comfort and friendliness. When the cool weather descends on the city, entire families flock to the embankment to barbecue on the soft sand, under palm trees, or on special white tables with blue picnic umbrellas.

The tourist infrastructure here began to develop not so long ago, but there are good hotels, and they have everything for a relaxing holiday.

We can recommend the following hotels: Ajman Hotel 5*, Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel 5*, Fairmont Ajman 5*, Ramada Hotel & Suites Ajman 4*, Ramada Beach Hotel 4*, Ajman Saray A Luxury Collection Resort 4*, Radisson Blu Hotel Ajman 5*.

Umm Al Quwain

Umm Al Quwain is an even quieter and more provincial emirate, 34 km north of Ajman, and 50 km from Dubai, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Our tourists have already fallen in love with it for its good price/quality ratio.

In the emirate of Umm al Quwain, old traditions and way of life are preserved to this day. Here you can see the life of this country without the glamorous touch.

Umm Al Quwain is a true paradise for fishing lovers. Beautiful beaches and lagoons, historical and architectural monuments are complemented by the Dreamland amusement park and quiet, clean beaches. In addition, there are spectacular camel racing .

The emirate has a Marine Club with windsurfing, water skiing, sailing, etc.

The choice of hotels is still small, but they are inexpensive and quite decent: Umm Al Quwain Beach 4*, Bin Majid Flamingo 3*, Palma Beach Resort & Spa 4*.

Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah, the northernmost of the seven emirates, has abundant greenery and is therefore considered one of the most beautiful holiday destinations in the UAE. The favorable climate and fertile soils made it a real blooming oasis on the border of the mountains, close to the seashore. Tourists with children will be very pleased Iceland WaterPark which was built built in 2010. Also, travelers will have a truly unforgettable adventure - a flight on a light sports aircraft or an aerochute.

Perhaps Ras Al Khaimah is the best price offer for a beach holiday in the UAE. There are magnificent beaches and a decent hotel base - from 3 to 5 stars. Of those that our tourists have already loved, I would like to note Hilton Al Hamra Beach & Golf Resort 5*, Bin Majid Beach Hotel 4*.

In my opinion, the Ras Al Khaimah region is ideal for families with children.

Fujairah

Now we have reached the last emirate - Fujairah. It is located farthest from Dubai airport, on the Indian Ocean coast, in the Gulf of Oman.

Fujairah is most loved by supporters of a relaxing beach holiday. And for those who are interested in diving, this is simply paradise.

There are no simple hotels in Fujairah - there are only luxurious “five” hotels, several of them operate on the “all inclusive” system. And this is quite reasonable, because... You won’t be able to go outside the hotel territory and buy something - there are no shops or restaurants here. There is almost no tourist infrastructure outside the hotel.

Hotels in Fujairah: Radisson Blu Resort Fujairah 5*, Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort 5*, Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa - Al Aqah Beach 5*, Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort 5*, Fairmont Fujairah Beach Resort 5*, Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa 4*.

Another pride of Fujairah is Ain Al Ghamour hot springs , formed due to a volcanic eruption. Due to the constant movement of sulfur, the springs always remain hot. The average temperature of the spring is about 60 degrees Celsius and never drops below 40 degrees. Water is rich in various useful chemical elements. Every year people come here who want to cure their musculoskeletal system and skin diseases.

This is how different they are, these United Arab Emirates. Now that you know what is interesting about each emirate, you can easily select and book hotels for your holiday in the UAE: Find an inexpensive tour to the UAE

Dubai

The most popular emirate is, of course, Dubai, the second largest after Abu Dhabi. This is where the unique man-made Palm Islands, the Burj Al Arab hotel with a recognizable sail-shaped profile and the tallest building in the world - Burj Khalifa are located.

There are hotels to suit every taste, from budget two-star hotels to the most sophisticated and luxurious ones. Beach hotel complexes are located in the Jumeirah resort area, and for guests of city hotels located away from the coast, a transfer to the beach is usually specially organized.

The best water parks in Dubai are Wild Wadi, located near the famous Burj Al Arab sailing hotel, and Aquaventure on the territory of the famous Atlantis Hotel. In Jumeirah there is the Dubai Zoo with the rarest species of animals; you can rent skis and play snowballs at the Ski Dubai ski resort.

Dubai is universal and suitable for all categories of tourists. To be closer to the sea, pay attention to the Dubai Marina area and its beach part - Jumeirah Beach Residence. Hotels here are located close to or on the beach, along the shoreline there is the lively promenade The Walk, a popular recreation spot among residents and visitors of Dubai. All entertainment is within walking distance, the infrastructure is very developed. You can get to the metro on foot or by tram.

Abu Dhabi

It is the largest and richest emirate, and the city of Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE, the “Manhattan of the Middle East.” Abu Dhabi hotels are mostly four-star and five-star, located on the coast, with their own beach. And the beaches here are excellent, with fine velvety sand. The central city beach was awarded the Blue Flag for cleanliness and safety.

There are many attractions that are worth visiting: the magnificent snow-white Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the Al-Husn Fort Palace, the cultural and ethnographic village “Haritage Village”, where the traditional way of life of different regions of the country is recreated.

The 10-kilometer Corniche embankment is decorated with fountains - real works of engineering art, the most famous of which are “Pearl”, “Coffee Pot”, “Volcano”, “Swan”. From the embankment you can go to equipped beaches equipped with sun loungers, changing cabins, showers, bars and playgrounds, and next to it rises a district with dizzying skyscrapers.

The entertainment center of Abu Dhabi is called the artificial Yas Island, where they are located - incredible attractions that will take your breath away!

Abu Dhabi is no less versatile than Dubai and will provide a respectable and enjoyable holiday. The city of Abu Dhabi is the capital of the UAE, one of the most carefully planned and designed cities in the world, with high-end beach hotels, a Formula 1 track and plenty of greenery.

The most profitable tours to Abu Dhabi:

Sharjah

Just 15 minutes from Dubai is the emirate of Sharjah, which is called the soul and cultural capital of the UAE. This is a real city of museums, with many historical and cultural attractions. Sharjah is also known and popular thanks to its excellent beaches and comfortable hotels located right on the shores of the Persian Gulf.

Among the main attractions are the King Faisal Mosque, one of the largest in the Middle East; the largest zoo "Arabian Wildlife Center" with unique species of animals, including the Arabian leopard; The Old City with specially recreated and restored ancient houses, Al-Khish Fort.

The emirate also includes Kor Fakkan on the east coast near the Gulf of Oman. Coral reefs with rich underwater flora and fauna make Khor Fakkan a scuba diving hub.

It is worth considering that Sharjah is the strictest emirate in terms of morals. There is a “prohibition” law here, there are no alcoholic drinks even on hotel premises, and their transportation from the territories of other emirates is prohibited.

Sharjah will be a good choice for a relatively inexpensive holiday on the coast, and its proximity to Dubai with its enormous entertainment opportunities will allow you to spend your holiday as varied as possible. Thanks to the long coastline, there are almost no hotels in Sharjah that are located more than 5 minutes from the beach.

Fujairah

Unlike other emirates, Fujairah is not located on the Persian Gulf, but on the Indian coast, near the Gulf of Oman. And if in summer the Indian Ocean warms up more slowly than the Persian Gulf, it also cools down more slowly, so in winter it will be a little warmer to swim here than in the west of the peninsula.

Diving enthusiasts will be able to appreciate the beauty of underwater flora and fauna; hotels have dive stations where you can obtain a PADI certificate.

On the territory of Fujairah there are protected areas with gardens, waterfalls, hot springs, picturesque landscapes are complemented by man-made historical attractions: ancient forts, medieval fortresses, and the Al-Bitiya Mosque is the oldest mosque in the UAE. Immersed in greenery, Ras Al Khaimah is the northernmost emirate, a fertile oasis rich in natural beauty and historical attractions. The hotels here are mostly four- and five-star, including famous international hotel chains, providing the highest level of service.

One of the attractions is the natural hot spring of Hutt, where you can come for healing baths. Children and adults will have a great time at the IceLand water park - "Iceland" with exciting attractions, including Penguin Falls, considered the world's largest artificial waterfall with a height of 36.5 m.

You can go to the desert to a Bedouin camp or climb the Khojar Mountains, visit a farm and pearl museum, kayak through mangroves, take boat trips on sailing ships and even learn how to operate a ship at the Sailing Academy, dive, fish, play golf - there are a lot of opportunities for a wide variety of recreation. And, of course, you can visit Dubai - the journey takes about an hour.

Ras Al Khaimah can be safely recommended to those who want to spend their holidays in the most comfortable conditions. This is a great place for a family holiday with children, especially with all-inclusive meals at the new hotels on Marjan Island: DoubleTree By Hilton and Rixos Bab Al Bahr.

Ajman

The smallest emirate, Ajman is famous for its amazingly picturesque nature and famous mineral springs. It is home to an important shipyard that produces traditional Arab dhows and modern ships, and local markets abound with traditional Arab crafts. But the main thing is, of course, clean beaches with white sand.

There are not many hotels in Ajman - both because of the small size of the emirate and because of its relative lack of wealth, but it is here that one of the best hotels in the country is located - the luxurious Kempinski complex. Among the attractions, in addition to the shipyard, you can visit the Historical Museum with an interesting exhibition of archaeological finds and a collection of weapons (the museum is located on the territory of an ancient fort), see the authentic watchtower and the Al-Nuami Mosque. If you want more impressions, you can take a taxi to neighboring Sharjah, which is only ten kilometers away, and then not far from Dubai.

Children don't go for a walk in Africa! It's better to fly. And not to Africa, but to the Emirates. It’s hot there, white sand, the sea, and most importantly, safety is at the highest level. The water can be drunk from the tap; there are no traces of volcanoes. Well, the chances of seeing a domestic leopard are higher than anywhere else! 🙂

To the Emirates with descendants: when and where is the best time to go? We collected good accommodation options and monitored prices adjusted for holidays in the UAE with children.

Essentially, the Emirates is a desert. It has been upgraded and made ultra-modern, but the air outside the beaches and air-conditioned hotels is dry, and the daytime temperature rises to a scorching 43°C. This should be taken into account when planning a trip with kids.

...and learn more about:

Sharjah

An option for those who want to eat fish without choking on the bone. Beaches, half an hour from Dubai. What else?

Our friends chose Sharjah (4* hotel) for a trip with their baby in October and were pleased. The hotel is located on the border between the emirates, and traveling to Dubai every day is not at all stressful.

Ras Al Khaimah

You see, the sidewalk turns left, there is no crossing across the road and there is no path ahead either? And if you need it directly? :) So often in the Emirates

The resort is located in the north of the country; Dubai is about two hours away by car or bus.

Still, you shouldn’t walk the streets drunk - you’ll be fined. Despite the open sale in stores, many hotels prohibit drinking alcoholic beverages. In a number of establishments, girls are given a separate menu, which does not include a bar menu or hookah.

Fujairah

The climate in Fujairah is somewhat different from other emirates: humid air comes from the Indian Ocean, and mountains on the mainland protect the desert from the land. Thanks to this, according to some sources, you can survive here at +50⁰С (but it’s better not to try).

Pros: Minuses:
+ “Living” sea – reviews from tourists often compare the local underwater world with the Egyptian one. And although the latter wins, such competition says a lot. Sharks, starfish, fish, turtles and other living creatures. And everything is not behind the glass of the oceanarium, but nearby, at arm’s length!
+ The Gulf of Oman is a little warmer, you can swim here even in winter: +22.5⁰С. Not everyone, but those who like cool water – very much so
+ Nice beachfront resorts
- Far from Dubai (160 km), it will be difficult with a small child
- The downside of interesting scuba diving: jellyfish, sea urchins - a potential danger for children

Prices for tours to the UAE in 2020

The flight to Dubai from Moscow and Kazan is approximately the same, about 5 hours

Traveling independently in the Emirates is an expensive pleasure. Prices for tours in the UAE are much more encouraging. Especially ahead of the relatively low season in winter.

  • Dubai

✓ Trips to Dubai for 7 days in 2020 start from 55,000 rubles for two with departure from Moscow

✓ When traveling with a child from 2 to 11 years old - budget tours from 80,000 rubles

✓ A trip to Dubai with children under 2 years old costs from 70,000 rubles

    Sharjah

A popular destination among Russian tourists.

✓ A week for two from Moscow – from 65,000 rubles

✓ Sharjah with children – from 85,000 rubles, if the child is from 2 to 11 years old

✓ From 65,000 rubles, if the child is under 2 years old

    Ras Al Khaimah

✓ Relax for two in Ras al-Khaimah for a week – from 60,000 rubles, departure from Moscow

✓ Tours with children in the UAE to this emirate cost from 80,000 rubles if the child is from 2 to 11 years old

✓ From 75,000 rubles – for infants up to 2 years old

    Fujairah

✓ Fujairah is generous with last-minute tours for two - from 60,000 rubles for two from Moscow for 7 days

✓ With a child 2-11 years old: from 80,000 rubles

    ✓ From 0 to 2 years: from 70,000 rubles

You need to understand that with a small difference in prices between resorts, in Dubai for that kind of money you will have to live in very dubious places. And in Ras al-Khaimah or Sharjah it can be 4*, under favorable circumstances.

But here’s a little travel hack that we also use.
If you are ready to live ≈ 10 km from the beach and travel to the sea by transfer from the hotel, then in Dubai you can find tours to very decent business hotels for reasonable money. They are usually concentrated in business districts like al-Barsha (we’ll talk about those where we stayed below).
How to find? Go to tour search engines, sort by “cheap to expensive” and look for chain hotels such as Hilton, DoubleTree, Holiday Inn, Novotel, Ramada, etc.:

What can you do? Entertainment

Laguna Waterpark by Meraas (next to our favorite La Mer beach)

UAE resorts for families with children are comfortable not only because of the sea. Entertainment from 0 to infinity is at the highest level here. We thought that it would be logical to make a division by age - after all, a two-year-old will not be allowed on the slides in the water park, and a thirteen-year-old will obviously get bored at Legoland.

  • With kids

    • (Dubai) - Lego-themed amusement park. Cool rides and a small water park. Parents say that it is entertaining for children under 5-6 years of age.
    • (Dubai) - harmless slides + themed areas with your favorite cartoon characters = enthusiastic children and slightly bored, but happy parents for their child. Cool amusement park!
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 275 aed (4600 rubles) for everyone older
    • Al Ain Zoo - simply because here you can feed a giraffe (30 aed) and stay with lemurs (40 aed).
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 10.5 aed (175 rubles) for 3-12 years, 31.5 aed (525 rubles) for everyone older
    • Garden Glow (Dubai) is a popular place in the evenings; glowing figures of birds, dinosaurs, flowers, and trees attract children.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 65 aed (1100 rubles) for everyone older

    With kids

Where to go with children aged 2-10 years?

    • Garden of Flowers (Dubai) - no, this is not a botanical garden, but a huge area with figures made of flowers (for example, an airplane in the Emirates livery).
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 40 aed (670 rubles) for 3-12 years, 55 aed (920 rubles) for everyone older
    • Butterfly Garden (Dubai) - any child will like this: the butterflies are bright, colorful, large, and sit on hands and heads.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 55 aed (920 rubles) for everyone older
    • (Dubai) - another theme park: there is a Marvel zone and a dinosaur zone. Parents note the advantage of the park - it is completely covered, and the heat does not interfere with the fun.
Tickets: 299 aed (5000 rubles) for everyone
    • The La Perle by Dragon show is an impressive performance with acrobats, aqua shows, special effects, music - just wow!
Tickets: 355 aed (5900 rubles) for everyone over 2 years old

With a teenager + water parks

    • (Abu Dhabi) - a Ferrari-style theme park is one of the must-see entertainment programs in the Emirates, along with the Burj Khalifa. And it doesn’t matter whether you are with children or not - the adults themselves really like it. Oh yes, and take your license with you, because here you can ride a Ferrari :)
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 230 aed (3850 rubles) for everyone under 130 cm, 295 aed (4900 rubles) for those taller
    • (Abu Dhabi) - the UAE has everything: including “branches” of famous Western amusement parks. By the way, one of the new ones in Abu Dhabi: it opened in the summer of 2018. Made based on cartoons and films - for example, Tom and Jerry, Batman, Scooby-Doo.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 230 aed (3850 rubles) for everyone under 110 cm, 295 aed (4900 rubles) for those taller

Almost all UAE resorts for families with children are located in close proximity to a water park of one kind or another. Each has water slides for visitors of all ages. You can choose any one.

    • Aquaventure Waterpark and Aquarium (Dubai) - the most popular water park in the city, beats out another Dubai park in that it also includes a visit to the aquarium for almost the same price. Moreover, it is located on Palma, in the Atlantis Hotel - also a local attraction.
Tickets: 235 aed (3900 rubles) for everyone under 120 cm, 289 aed (4800 rubles) for those taller
    • Wild Wadi Water Park (Dubai) is a little more convenient in location for tourists, but the park itself is smaller. Plus, there aren't that many people.
Tickets: up to 2 years free, 249 aed (4200 rubles) for everyone under 110 cm, 299 aed (5000 rubles) for those taller
    • (Abu Dhabi) - They say this is the best water park in the whole UAE! Modern, big and safe. The only negative is that it is located in Abu Dhabi, and “Dubai” tourists will have to get there by transfer.
Tickets: up to 3 years free, 210 aed (3500 rubles) for everyone under 110 cm, 250 aed (4200 rubles) for those taller

In general, the standard set of activities in the Emirates includes the following:

  • - just “ah-ah!” These are our emotions about the desert (if you are seeing it for the first time) and about jeep racing on the dunes. We would only advise teenagers, because the trip is really extreme and motion sickness.
  • Climbing the Burj Khalifa - follow the link for our text about everything you need to know and where it is more profitable to buy tickets (including the aquarium in the Dubai Mall).
  • The fountain show at the Dubai Mall is beautiful, yes, the fountains soar high. But the crowd is terrible... It takes place every half hour from 18:00.
  • Promenade Dubai Marina in the evening
  • - if you are ready for a long excursion with your child. The overview necessarily includes a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque, and then the program varies - maybe Yas Island with Ferrari World and the Emirates Palace Hotel, or maybe the Sheikh Qasr al-Watan Palace.
  • - an express tour of the Emirates, capturing the features of each.

All links lead to sites where we book excursions or entrance tickets ourselves. These are large services with a good reputation, and they are great for the UAE, because 1) excursions from a tour operator are expensive, 2) it’s difficult to find an agency on the street, after all, this is not Turkey.

We tried everything from the list of standard entertainment - and took it online.

Food prices in the UAE

We really liked The Duchess cafe on La Mer promenade
(price of one dish - 50-70 dirhams)

On average, in the Emirates, lunch/dinner in a cafe will cost 120-150 dirhams for two (2000-2500 rubles). In Dubai it is a little more expensive, in Sharjah it is cheaper. Yes, an inexpensive tour does not mean that the costs on site will be small. It’s strange to see price tags at US levels in an Arab country.

Here are several establishments we have tested with good European cuisine in the most expensive of all resorts - Dubai:

  1. Leopold(Dubai Marina) - there are breakfasts within 55 dirhams and a main menu: salads, bagels (delicious with salmon, 58 dirhams), pasta, pizza (take one for two).
  2. The Duchess(La Mer) - a beach restaurant with more or less prices: for 70-80 dirhams you can take one huge dish, enough for two adults; for 50-60 dirhams - pancakes.
  3. Nefertiti Restaurant(Burjuman metro station) – cuisine close to Russian: soups, cutlets, etc. When a child is picky about food and refuses to eat “overseas” dishes. A meal for two plus a small meal will fit within the budget of 100 dirhams, because it is located far from tourist locations.
  4. Afghan Khorasan Kabab(al-Safa) - a restaurant of Afghan cuisine with an inconvenient location, but from here - huge portions, tasty, budget-friendly. Dinner for two around 80 dirhams.

Many Russian tourists, “regulars” of the Emirates, recommend Afghan catering establishments as places to relax that are optimal in terms of tasty/inexpensive. There have been a lot of similar establishments in the UAE recently. They feed well and a lot, a lot.

  1. Bice Mare(Burj Khalifa) - restaurant with a view of the dancing fountains and Burj Khalifa. Mediterranean cuisine, the price tag is high, but tasty and beautiful. Dinner for two about 300 dirhams.
  2. Five Guys(Burj Khalifa) - fast food at its best: a terrace overlooking the tower and quality burgers (36 dirhams) with potatoes (16-26 dirhams).
  3. Paul(Emirates Mall or Dubai Mall) - you can have a substantial meal, or you can limit yourself to desserts, they are good here.

A lot of decent beaches designed for families with children belong to hotels on the first line. Almost everywhere there are playgrounds, and somewhere there are toys and water slides. Information about this is usually in the hotel descriptions.

But it’s hard to get an idea of the beaches in words, isn’t it? Therefore, watch our video from the last trip - here we show Marina Beach, Jumeirah and La Mer ↓

Is it worth going on holiday to the UAE with children? Which resort should you choose? We publish tips from tourists collected from the Internet and our personal recommendations after four trips.

➢ The trip should be planned for the velvet season. Suitable weather for swimming and sunbathing:

  • October
  • April

In summer it is VERY hot and stuffy. September and March - depending on your luck. Winter is ideal for excursions, swimming pools and seasoned swimmers in the sea!

➢ The UAE has its own peculiarities of recreation: in a number of emirates there is prohibition, nightlife stops after 23:00

➢ They love children here, the attitude is very good

➢ All the goods necessary for babies are presented in the assortment of any supermarket: diapers, milk, cereals, toys, etc.

➢ How to get around the city? In any emirate there is a taxi - it is beige in color, it is official, with a taximeter inside. In Dubai, for example, for short trips of ≈ 10 km, it cost us 25-30 dirhams (400-500 rubles). Only in Dubai there is a metro, where a ticket for a travel card costs 3-5 dirhams (50-85 rubles). There are also buses, but we did not study the routes and prices.

➢ Car rental in the Emirates requires international rights. Necessarily! A proven rental service is Myrentacar (ours, Russian, working with local agencies as well).

➢ The Emirates is one of the safest countries to travel to. But even here you shouldn’t neglect good food, especially for a child.

➢ Cheaper holidays in Sharjah and Ras al-Khaimah. You can catch a great tour in Fujairah in winter
➢ Remember about consent to travel abroad if you send your child on vacation with his grandmother/sister/etc. (that is, without parents).

Well, a universal piece of advice: understanding what you want from your vacation (water parks and attractions, quiet walks, the beach in the morning and evening, malls and excursions) will help you decide on your place to stay and when to fly. The best holiday with children in the UAE is a pre-planned holiday!
