We are going on holiday to Sharjah with our child. All about holidays in Sharjah May be interesting

Sharjah is a unique emirate and holidays here are also special. Its proximity to Dubai makes Sharjah a good base for excursions, and the presence of hotels with private beaches positions Sharjah as a good beach destination. However, the emirate also has many shopping centers, markets, museums, attractions and entertainment venues. So you can have a great time in Sharjah if you plan your holiday properly.

When planning a holiday in Sharjah, it is worth considering that this is a unique emirate. Therefore, you need to know some features of holiday in Sharjah.

Firstly, in Sharjah, like in no other emirate, Sharia law is observed. This means that outside of hotels you should try to behave as if you were a local. Tolerance towards tourists in Sharjah is probably the lowest in the entire UAE.

Secondly, in Sharjah almost all hotels offer free transfer to some shopping center. So you don't have to go all-inclusive or even half board, as you can take the shuttle to the mall and eat at one of the restaurants or buy groceries at the supermarket.

Thirdly, Sharjah has a lot of interesting places, including many museums. Therefore, we advise you to first get acquainted with the sights of Sharjah, and only then plan excursions to other emirates.

As we said above, in Sharjah you should behave like a local. Only on the hotel premises can you feel more or less relaxed. Basic rules for holidays in Sharjah include no alcohol and an adequate dress code.

Remember that drinking alcohol in Sharjah can even land you in jail. A hotel room is the only place where you can safely drink alcohol, but after drinking it, it is still better not to appear in society, especially if you have drunk too much. In addition, we advise you to put bottles in a bag or other place away from the eyes of cleaning staff and other hotel staff.

As for the dress code, you can even wear a swimsuit inside the hotel, but going outside the hotel in such a suit is fraught with serious consequences. Even if your hotel is across the street from the beach, you will need to get dressed before going from the beach to your room. Outside the hotel, men can walk around in shorts and a T-shirt, especially during the day, but if you want to go into a shopping center or restaurant in such clothes, you most likely will not be allowed. Below-the-knee shorts and a collared T-shirt are already considered appropriate attire for visiting many places in Sharjah. Women are advised to always dress appropriately when outside the hotel premises. It’s better to forget about short skirts and shorts.

Sharjah is considered one of the cheapest places for a beach holiday in the UAE, as a hotel room with its own beach can be booked for as low as $50 during the low season. Even 5-star hotels on the first line sell for prices starting from $70 per night during the low season.

A beach holiday in Sharjah will definitely appeal to those tourists who want to relax in a relatively quiet and peaceful hotel, where there are no crowds of heavily drunk people. However, you should understand that such hotels can be quite boring, because there are practically no animators in them, and in the evening there are no shows or discos.

You can also enjoy a beach holiday in Sharjah even if you stay in a city hotel. Still, many city hotels offer their guests a transfer to the beach (mostly to some paid beach). In addition, Sharjah has several public beaches where you can relax in the company of local residents.

If you want to spend as little money as possible on your holiday in Sharjah, then you can do it. In general, a budget holiday in Sharjah is not a myth, but a reality, despite all the claims that holidays in the UAE are very expensive. With proper planning of your holiday in Sharjah, you can relax without spending very little money.

What do you need to organize a budget holiday in Sharjah? First you need to find an inexpensive hotel with a good location. If you are planning to save money, then it is important that there are shops and inexpensive cafes near the hotel. Almost all Sharjah city hotels meet this requirement.

You also need to look at how much it costs to stay at a hotel with breakfast and with half board and other meals. For example, if the difference between half board and breakfast only is 400 rubles per day, then you should probably choose the half board option, since for 400 rubles (that’s about 20 dirhams at the current exchange rate) you are unlikely to be able to have dinner alone, let alone already about two adults or even two adults and a child.

Another important point of an economical holiday in Sharjah is the use of free transfers. Yes, a taxi ride to the beach from your hotel will be inexpensive, but if your hotel offers a free shuttle, why not take advantage of it and save an extra 15 dirhams in your pocket? The same goes for trips to shopping centers.

If you want to take several excursions during your holiday in Sharjah, then in order to save money, it would be worth taking the time to find a company that offers low prices for excursions. In this case, you can save a lot of money, and if there are two, three or more of you, then the money saved will be quite large.

Well, the last piece of advice for those who are interested in a budget holiday in Sharjah is that you should not buy souvenirs and other goods in the first days of your holiday, especially in a store in or near the hotel. Put off all your purchases until the last few days, as during your vacation you will be able to better understand the prices and find several inexpensive stores. In addition, during your vacation you will be able to think carefully and are unlikely to end up buying an unnecessary thing.

Sharjah is a good destination for families with children. While Sharjah's hotels may not be ideal for families, you can still find some child-friendly hotels here. We talked about some of these hotels in a separate article.

As a rule, tourists with children choose hotels on the first line in Sharjah with their own beach. All beach hotels in Sharjah have a relatively small area and a small range of amenities and entertainment for children. So it is quite possible that your children will get bored at the hotel, especially if you have previously vacationed in good family hotels in Turkey and Egypt.

However, Sharjah and neighboring Dubai have many interesting places to visit with children. Sharjah, for example, has a water park, an aquarium, a Ferris wheel, fountains and many interesting museums. Dubai also has several water parks and a wide variety of activities for children, including KidZania at the Dubai Mall, where children can try themselves as doctors, firefighters, police officers or other professions.

Also from Sharjah you can go on an excursion to the famous Ferrari World theme park, which has many attractions for children and adults.

All hotels in Sharjah can be divided into 3 groups: hotels with their own beach, hotels on the first line and city hotels.

Hotels with their own beach are mainly chosen by tourists who plan to spend most of their time on the beach. But you must remember that these hotels do not have a large area and such a wide range of amenities and services as similar hotels in Turkey or Egypt. Basically, these are quite simple hotels with a small area, a swimming pool and a well-equipped beach.

Hotels of the second group, although located on the first line, do not have their own beach. As a rule, these are compact and inexpensive hotels that are located across the street from the public beach. These hotels are mostly popular with locals, although budget tourists who want to stay close to the beach also often choose these hotels.

Sharjah city hotels are suitable for those who want to spend a lot of time on excursions, shopping and walking around the city. At the same time, staying in a city hotel does not mean that you have to forget about a beach holiday. Almost all city hotels in Sharjah offer free transfer to the beach (this can be either a paid or free beach). In any case, you can take a taxi yourself to any beach in Sharjah and even to the beaches of the neighboring emirates of Dubai and Ajman.

It is difficult to imagine a holiday in Sharjah without excursions. The emirate of Sharjah itself has many interesting places, including mosques, museums, parks, etc. So we advise you to take at least one day to explore Sharjah. You can, for example, go on a sightseeing tour of Sharjah on a double-decker bus. This is an inexpensive but very interesting excursion, during which you will see many interesting places in Sharjah.

Of course, almost all tourists who come to the UAE for the first time plan to visit Dubai. If you want to go on an excursion to Dubai during your holiday in Sharjah, you should think carefully about which places in Dubai you most want to see. The fact is that there are a lot of interesting places in Dubai, so there are several excursion programs.

What other excursions can you visit while on holiday in Sharjah? A lot depends on what exactly interests you. For example, excursions to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Oman and desert safaris should appeal to lovers of history, culture and nature, while trips to the Ferrari World theme park and water parks are more suitable for fun-seekers and tourists with children.

At the end of the article about holidays in Sharjah, I would like to say a few words about prices. As we said, Sharjah is one of the cheapest holiday destinations in the UAE. If you wish, of course, you can spend a lot of money in Sharjah, but if you wish, you can also make your vacation very budget-friendly.

Hotels in Sharjah are very cheap. During the summer, you can book a room for two in an inexpensive hotel for only $35, and this price will include breakfast. Even a 5-star hotel with its own beach can be booked during this period from a tour operator at a price of $60-70 per day. During the high season, hotel prices are, of course, noticeably higher.

As for food, the cost of a meal in a Sharjah cafe is relatively low, the price range for most dishes is 15-30 dirhams. At the same time, you can always walk or take a taxi to the nearest grocery store and buy some products there.

In general, in Sharjah you can spend no more than $100 per day on a vacation for two, and this includes hotel accommodation. If you really want to, then the cost of a vacation in Sharjah can be completely reduced to $80 for two per day.

It is not without reason that Sharjah is chosen by those who love a quiet, contemplative pastime and by families with children. This city has enough entertainment to keep you entertained, but at the same time it is avoided by noisy revelers.

The best holiday with children in Sharjah starts in "Al-Qasbah". This is a park area where most of the entertainment available in the city is collected. There are attractions, a cinema, and ice cream stands. In the evening, the cozy lighting of the area and fountains is turned on, and a light show is shown on one of the walls of the buildings. You can also go up on the Ferris wheel and ride on water taxis, and children can play and relax in the playground (15 AED for a day ticket). Also within the park you will find a SPA center, a gym, and a billiard room.

Continue your family holiday with children in Sharjah with a visit Arabian Wildlife Center. Here, in a huge picturesque area, there live many animals that came from different parts of the globe - from snakes and cheetahs to deer and wolves. There is also a petting zoo and a large walking area on the territory.

And what is a holiday with children in Sharjah without visiting a local aquarium? It's incredibly beautifully designed, with giant pools and huge tunnels inside the aquariums. The diversity of marine life is also very large.

It’s best to start your holiday with teenage children in Sharjah with Al Jazeera amusement park which will delight you with numerous attractions, places for recreation, park areas, and a golf center. This park is one of the most popular places among tourists.

It covers the area of the entire island in Khalid Lagoon. Thanks to the dense vegetation, it is not too hot even in the most intense heat, and the wonderful green lawns are a wonderful place for a family picnic. Al Jazeera has swimming pools, an artificial waterfall, a billiards room, a bowling alley and a video game salon.

You can come here with small children: there is a colorful amusement town for them and a small zoo where monkeys, deer and birds live. A railway runs through the entire park, and you can sail on a boat along the lagoon. However, keep in mind that Tuesday is Women's Day at Al Jazeera, and the park is closed until 15:00.

Family entertainment areas in local shopping centers can bring you a lot of pleasant emotions. There are cinemas, attractions, playrooms for children, and numerous cozy restaurants where you can dine with the whole family.

A family holiday with children in Sharjah turns out to be very economical compared to other popular resorts in the UAE. There are generally lower prices here, and in addition, in Sharjah, children are provided with significant discounts on visiting all entertainment and cultural facilities.

Is it worth going with a child to Sharjah?

Sharjah frightens many of our compatriots with its severity. But for families with children it’s just right: there is an absolute ban on alcohol in this emirate. That is, it will be a little calmer. Although our tourists still manage to “take it to the chest”, as a rule, they bring it from Dubai and drink it in the hotel, in their rooms. But in any case, if they drink, it’s quiet, and on the beaches or by the pools, drunken, noisy crowds won’t bother you. Who wants to get into trouble? Another undoubted advantage is that trips to this Emirate are a little cheaper, and prices here are lower than in Dubai. Sharjah is a large (third largest) and quite beautiful Emirate, and the king, Dubai, with its first-class entertainment for children, is only about ten minutes away. Sharjah has beaches (albeit not as steep as Dubai) and plenty of things to see and do. Sharjah has a whole bunch of beautiful restaurants and cafes, including some that are not particularly expensive, so there will be no problems with food. But this, of course, is not a factor. Modern skyscrapers are very successfully intertwined with numerous bazaars and shops, incredibly beautiful fountains and embankments, deserts, date plantations, interesting museums and attractions. In some places, the coastline will delight you with soft sand, on which you can easily sunbathe on towels, without sunbeds. The advantage of Sharjah is that the city beaches are somewhat deserted, compared, for example, with the beaches of Egypt, and there are not many local residents, so you will be a little calmer. The only thing that spoils the impression is our dear compatriots who are not particularly cultured and sometimes don’t bother taking their cigarette butts to the trash. In general, Sharjah has a very calm atmosphere, by and large, there are few entertainment venues, no clubs and bars, and such a vacation is more like an escape from real life, people and bustle, this is a wonderful acquaintance with Arab culture. You can’t walk around Dubai on foot, but here in this regard there is freedom. There is only cleanliness all around, attentive, helpful people, well-groomed green lawns, lush parks, where it is so great to walk with the little ones. Perfect for a family vacation!

When to take your child to Sharjah?

Just like Dubai, Sharjah has a hot desert climate. Summer is hot, sometimes the thermometer rises to 41°C (in August, that is, the hottest month of the year). Winter is generally warm, on average somewhere around + 24°C (although in January it drops to 14°C at night). The best months to visit, in my opinion, are April, May, September and October, November. Although you can generally travel all year round. But in the winter months the sea is not very calm, and swimming in the waves with a baby is scary. And the sea is cool, in general (although you can always swim in the pool). And remember that even if you go, say, in February, remember that you can always get sunburned - the sun is treacherous! Don't forget about sunscreen and hats!

Best hotels for children in Sharjah?

Sharjah is in second place in the number of tourists after the emirate of Dubai. But the prices for accommodation there are also more affordable, which is very pleasant. The choice of hotels is not that big compared to its richer brother. And, to be honest, there aren’t that many “children’s” hotels here. At least compared to what Dubai has to offer. Of those that can more or less fit our search criteria, we can recommend, for example, Lords Hotel Sharjah 4*, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah 4* and Sharjah Grand Hotel 4*- they have a playground or a children's club. ¾ of Sharjah hotels offer family rooms, including those located further offshore. You can choose a hotel on this basis, but, in my opinion, it is better to take care of where the baby will have more fun.

What to do with children in Sharjah?

In fact, Sharjah is not only a beach holiday. Take your kids to the Rolla area, in Heritage Village with ancient houses (their copies, more precisely) and Academy of Fine Arts(Emirates Fine Art Society) - a gallery with works by famous local artists, as well as a real traditional bazaar that will impress both children and adults. Surrounded by concrete structures, this old bazaar is home to a variety of shops and cafes under a makeshift bamboo roof. Everything is pretty cheap here, and you and the kids can buy a whole bunch of gifts for grandparents.

Be sure to check it out with your kids Sharjah Aqaurium, where more than 250 species of marine life live - fish, fish, sharks, shellfish and others. Entry costs only 5 dirhams for children. Located next to Al Khan Lagoon. Open Wed 16:00-19:30, Thu 9:00-19:30; Fri 16:00-19:30; Sat 9:00-19:30.

Continuing the theme of water activities, we can suggest you go to Al Qasba, a cultural and entertainment project on the coast, located next to the Dubai-Sharjah highway.
It's especially fun there in the evenings, but it's also good during the day. Here you will find cafes, restaurants, shops, a theater, an art gallery and children's attractions. To really soak up this wonderful atmosphere of fun, take a ride along the kilometer-long canal and along the coastline of Sharjah.
Also, take a walk to the Al Kasbah musical fountain to admire how the water “dances”. But nothing can compare with the circle on Ferris Wheel (Eye Of The Emirates) 60 meters high. The views are wonderful! The wheel has 42 cabins and can accommodate 336 passengers at a time.
Al Kasba also hosts interesting events for children throughout the year - in the summer, for example, a puppet theater is opened here and acrobats work here. Well, in general, it’s very cool there!

Take your kids to Archaeological Museum with interactive displays of finds that were discovered on the territory of Sharjah - all from the Stone, Iron and Bronze Ages. And also models of the first settlements of the emirate are terribly entertaining! The museum is located in the Halwan District, near Cultural Square. Open Sat-Thu 9:00-13:00 and 17:00-20:00; Fri 17:00-20:00. Entrance costs about 10 dirhams.

Sharjah is a resort located less than 30 km away. from bustling Dubai, but there is a completely different atmosphere here. It is called the cultural capital of the country, which, of course, affects the characteristics of recreation. When you go to a resort like Sharjah on vacation with children, get ready for an interesting cultural program: older children will certainly enjoy the sights of the city. However, all conditions have been created here for a holiday with very young tourists: a lot of entertainment awaits them. And the beaches of Sharjah, with their snow-white sand and gentle slope into the sea, seem to be created for carefree children's games!

The climate in Sharjah, as in most areas of the UAE, is dry and hot - the outskirts of the city border on a real desert. However, on the shores of the Persian Gulf, where most of the hotels are located, the desert heat is not felt thanks to the pleasant sea breeze. However, in the summer months, when the heat often exceeds 40°C, both adults, and even more so, children will have a hard time here. Therefore, as a rule, people go to a resort like Sharjah with children either in March-April or in October-November. There is no excessive heat at this time, and the water in the sea is quite warm, especially in autumn. In winter, Sharjah is warm during the day, but gets cold in the evening, and the water in the sea is cool for children to swim in. But this weather is just right for sightseeing!

Which hotels in Sharjah are suitable for families with children? There are many hotels here located in the business part of the city, but for a family holiday it is best to choose those built near the sea on the 1st coastline. The advantage of such hotels is their own beach. Of course, there are also municipal beaches in Sharjah, which are almost as clean and well-equipped as private ones. However, entry to many of them is paid, and women here are often forced to sunbathe in dresses, while on a private beach you can sunbathe in your usual swimsuit. In addition, when choosing a hotel for families with children in a resort like Sharjah, you should not focus on the availability of an all-inclusive system - it is not popular here. Most often board or half board is offered.

What entertainment, besides a beach holiday, does Sharjah offer its young guests? With a younger child, you can go to Al Majaz Park, where there are well-equipped playgrounds. Kids also love to frolic under the refreshing streams of water in the Splash Park, and go on rides in the Al Montaza Park, which also has a small water park. And the illusion of walking along the seabed at the Sharjah Aquarium will impress all family members. With older children, you should definitely go to Fort Al-Hisn, where you can admire the defensive structures and a collection of ancient weapons. It is worth planning a family excursion to the Desert Park, visiting museums, admiring rare desert animals, and visiting a children's farm. In addition, at any moment you can “break away” to Dubai, where a lot of entertainment awaits children of all ages!

Among the advantages of a family holiday in Sharjah is the presence of the city’s own international airport, where direct flights regularly fly from Moscow - the flight time is only 5 hours. There are direct flights from many other cities in Russia to Dubai, from there it is less than an hour away by inexpensive regular bus or about 30 minutes by taxi. And now you are already enjoying your holiday at one of the best resorts in the UAE!

An excellent experience awaits those who decide to visit the wonderful resort city of Sharjah, located near the capital of the United Arab Emirates. There is a wide variety of entertainment to suit every taste, including plenty of entertainment for little travelers. Together with them you can visit entertainment and swimming centers, museums, an aquarium, parks with playgrounds, sunbathe and swim on the beaches, as well as explore the sights of the city.

A typical travel itinerary includes exploring the city, and when traveling to Sharjah with children, your first stop should be the Posh Paws Animal Sanctuary and Petting Zoo. Here you can see monkeys, turkeys, deer, goats, ponies, turtles, and the familiar cats and dogs. All animals are properly cared for, all the animals can be fed, petted, played with and photographed, and the most pleasant experience for children will come from riding a pony or horse. For those who want to see wildlife, a visit to the Arabian Wildlife Center is recommended. Among its inhabitants are leopards, flamingos, monkeys, ducks, and there is a terrarium with snakes and lizards. There are a lot of impressions from visiting the zoo; little tourists will not want to leave at all.

For those who want to look at birds and learn a lot of interesting information about them, it is worth going to the Wasit Wetland Center. There are ducks, pelicans, herons, and flamingos here, and there are mechanisms for bird watching. You can move around the zoo not only on foot, but also using an electric car. The magnificent Sharjah National Park will delight every visitor with its magnificent green landscapes, as well as the atmosphere of coziness and comfort that reigns here. Both locals and tourists love to have picnics here, and their example is definitely worth following. Copyright www.site

Another popular place for families traveling with children is the Sharjah Aquarium, where you can get a glimpse of the marine life of the Persian Gulf - and there is quite a lot of them in the aquarium. Visitors will most like the large pool with fish; it is also worth noting that the aquarium is perfectly stylized. On the territory you can find a store with a huge selection of souvenirs, where you should definitely stop by to buy something as a souvenir. Interesting theatrical performances are also often held here, and there are playgrounds for little tourists.

Another interesting entertainment center for children is AlMontazah Park, where children have an excellent opportunity to explore pirate and space ships, swim in pools (and you can choose a pool to suit every taste), go down slides (including extreme water attractions), and take part in sunbathing. Thanks to such opportunities, little tourists get an excellent experience; the atmosphere here is very relaxing, due to the fact that there are no crowds of tourists.

The Adventureland entertainment complex, or rather, spending time in it, will be remembered by every child. Here kids can see their favorite characters (their role is played by animators), play slot machines, and ride on a variety of attractions. The center is wonderfully decorated, both inside and outside, pleasing the eye with bright colors. Children will also enjoy Antic's Land (located in the Mega Mall shopping center), especially if the children's age ranges from 2 to 8 years. The entertainment they are provided with here includes riding on cars, carousels, and visiting a mini-zoo.
