What does Boryspil airport look like and where are the terminals? Scheme of terminals A, B, C, F of Boryspil airport, Kyiv. How to get from Boryspil to Kyiv

If we look at Boryspil International Airport on a map of Kyiv, the structure of the complex seems quite simple. It is the largest airport in Ukraine, and serves about 62% of all air traffic in the country. Located in the city of the same name near Kyiv.

The convenient location has been helping to fly to all kinds of air destinations for almost 60 years. At the moment, more than fifty local and foreign airlines are engaged in passenger transportation. Let's understand the intricacies of the enterprise and the opportunities provided to passengers.

The airfield has two large runways for takeoff and landing. The length of one of them is more than three and a half thousand meters, the other is four thousand meters. The last runway is designed in such a way as to be able to accommodate any type of airliner under different weather and temperature conditions. The four passenger terminals on the Boryspil airport diagram on the map of Kyiv are located in the following order:

  • A – is currently under reconstruction. It was founded to serve users moving around the country.
  • B – previously was the largest terminal of the airport, both domestic and international flights took place here. It was closed in 2014 due to the construction of a new building.
  • C – like the previous two, it is turnkey, but until mid-2012, private aircraft and VIP clients were serviced at the base. Now this role has gone to another terminal.
  • D – today the main part of the airport. Provides services to companies flying domestic and international flights, while providing quality service to VIPs. It is the largest terminal in all of Ukraine. The total area is more than 100 thousand square meters. m. Moreover, about 10 million air passengers pass through it every year.

An interactive diagram of Boryspil Airport on a map of Kyiv can be found on the company’s website. The schematic diagram shows the location of the main buildings, car parking areas and hotel complexes located next to the air hub.

Thanks to the simple location of the terminal nodes, any tourist can get to the desired department and calmly receive all types of services.

Let us describe the interior of the main building, where the issuance of air tickets and documents for baggage transportation takes place.

There are many important systems operating inside the D-terminal:

  • 60 passenger registration departments;
  • 6 counters for online registration;
  • 20 security control points;
  • 28 passport control mode windows;
  • 11 teleconferences.

The premises have three floors. You can move between them using an elevator, stairs, and of course, an escalator. The building has bars, restaurants, lounges, currency exchange offices and various shops. Passengers arriving for departure enter the building on the third floor. Upon entering, you immediately notice the counters where the airport terminal employees accept documents.

Passengers pass through the security department and passport control to the departure corridor. There you can pass the time by visiting Duty Free points. Next, lounges are open for business class clients. The halls have an accessible Internet network with a wireless connection, allowing you to view websites, videos, and communicate with your family online for free. It is worth recalling that the main complex provides support for both national and international flights.

Thanks to a simplified control system, travelers arriving on transit flights do not need to undergo additional screening. Boryspil Airport on the map of Kyiv has a base where air cargo transportation services are provided.

Since its foundation in 2010, the department has served mainly for the processing of charter flights. The structure was fairly well equipped; documents were registered at 30 counters. There were also two checkpoints. There was a separate section for keeping track of oversized luggage.

Block F is currently closed as it is being converted from a passenger to a cargo section of the complex. Today, two additional cargo terminals are actively operating at the airport: E and BW, which are ready to receive and sort a large number of large goods and other cargo for various purposes.

Where to park the car

There are six parking lots near the airport terminal. But if you decide to leave your car at one of them, you should be careful. The cost of stopping at different terminals varies slightly. For example, drivers leaving their vehicle near Terminal D may not pay for the space for the first 20 minutes. But for a longer parking time you will have to pay 50 hryvnia (about 110 rubles) per hour. Near building F there are no privileges for a short stay, but an hour of parking there costs 10 times less.

The diagram of the Boryspil airport on the map of Kyiv shows that right next to the airport there is a three-star hotel where travelers can live peacefully for several days. It is worth keeping in mind that prices there are higher than average. However, after driving just 10 minutes, you can find other, more economical accommodation options in the capital. Therefore, experienced tourists are advised to think over the route ahead of time and book a room in a capital hotel at a favorable price. A choice of options is offered by partner services of many airlines. You can place your order online and continue with your pre-flight preparations.

Transfers to the airport

Many guests of Kyiv worry about the convenience of getting to the airport from a hotel or city center in order to catch a plane. The increased interest of business people and ordinary travelers in the beautiful cities of Ukraine, including Kyiv and the Kyiv region, has led to an increase in the flow of airline customers. To provide optimal comfort for thousands of guests, a wide transport infrastructure has been created by various types of vehicles.

In accordance with the scheme, Boryspil airport on the map of Kyiv is located 30 kilometers from the capital of Ukraine. Therefore, air tourists are encouraged to use public or private ground transport. You can get to the check-in point for your flight in the following ways:

  • by taxi - the fastest way, the cost varies from 60 to 300 hryvnia;
  • by Skybus buses - the route runs from the Southern railway station with a stop near the Kharkovskaya metro station, and the journey from the station will take about an hour, and from the metro it will take about twenty minutes. Bus services run every half hour during the day, and once every hour at night;
  • by car – when check-in opens, you can get to the airport via the M03 and E40 highways.

When calculating travel time, you should take into account that there are traffic jams in the city in the evening. Information about traffic congestion on highways can be obtained from an online application on a smartphone. By learning about this problem in advance, you will not risk being late for check-in. Then we recommend using the metro. We wish you soft landings!

Borispol airport

Boryspil Airport is the largest international airfield, serving over 8 million passengers per year. It is conveniently located at the junction of air routes connecting Europe and Asia, as well as the latter with America. Air transportation at the airport is served by more than 50 foreign and domestic companies. Passengers arriving and departing from here will be helped by our map of Boryspil airport and a detailed description of it.

The Boryspil airport has two runways, one 4 thousand meters long, the other 3 thousand 527 meters long. The first makes it possible to receive aircraft of all types even in bad weather conditions. Passengers arriving at the airport for departure disembark at the flyover on the third floor and enter the building. Here they find themselves in a huge spacious hall with registration desks. Before entering the departure gallery, which is 640 meters long, there are 20 checkpoints, and beyond that there is passport control.

Immediately behind the Duty Free shops there are lounges for business class passengers that meet all the requirements for quality service. The terminal has all the necessary additional services; cafes, bars, shops, bank branches.

In contact with

On May 28, 2012, Terminal D was opened at Boryspil airport. 3.5 years have passed since the start of construction. A decade has passed since the idea arose to build a large modern air terminal at the main air gate of Ukraine.

The project was modified, the cost of construction grew. If initially the terminal was planned to be built using a Japanese loan, which amounted to about $172 million, now the share of Japanese money in the total construction estimate is less than a third. The terminal cost 4.8 billion UAH (about 600 million dollars).

Plans for next year include the construction of an additional 34 thousand square meters. meters of space in order to expand the retail area and modify the layout. This will allow us to serve not only international, but also domestic flights.

Now, visually, most of the areas open to passengers look ready.

However, terminal D is a new level of automation of all processes. And it is not entirely clear how ready the infrastructure, invisible to the ordinary eye, is. At least the second floor of the building was completely closed, and on the rest there were periodically wires protruding from the ceiling and the absence of decorative slabs covering technical tunnels.

Another feature of openings in Ukrainian is that flights to the new terminal are not transferred to the next day. On May 29, terminal D actually received one flight from Iran for arrival. However, this was more of an image move.

At the moment, the schedule for transferring flights to the new terminal is not known. It has only been officially announced that a preliminary agreement has been reached with Lufthansa on transferring its flights to terminal D from August 1

. However, for example, the largest base airline at Boryspil Airport - AeroSvit - did not receive proposals to transfer flights to a new building. Thus, for at least several months, ordinary passengers will not be able to see the inside of Terminal D with their own eyes. For several weeks in June and July, it will serve only charters with fans arriving for Euro 2012 for arrivals and departures. However, about this development of events

was known back in February 2011.

On the opening day, I walked the paths of future passengers of the new terminal D. In 4 pages we will show and explain the planning of different zones for air travelers.

Departing passengers disembark on the third floor of the terminal on an overpass and proceed to the terminal.

Here they find themselves in a large spacious hall with 3 registration islands and waiting areas. In the center of the hall there is a huge empty area.

On the one hand, it adds space and airiness to the new terminal D, on the other hand, the huge area is not used at all, which leads to the fact that there is as much retail space in the new terminal as in the old terminal B, which is 3 times smaller.

The reception desks are grouped into islands. This system is quite common at airports abroad. In Ukraine, it will be applied only at Boryspil airport.

Scheme of terminals A, B, C, F of Boryspil airport, Kyiv

Terminal F - Boryspil Airport, Kyiv

general information
Total area: 20685.6 m2
Capacity: 900 passengers/hour (for departure) and the same for arrival; at peak times, the ability to service up to 1,500 passengers/hour (per departure).
The entire terminal area is equipped with a visual information system (aircraft schedules, arrivals/departures boards, other information necessary for a passenger in the airport complex).
In terms of engineering infrastructure, the terminal is equipped with modern equipment to ensure comfortable climatic conditions for passengers and visitors to the terminal.
The area per passenger (both in the check-in area and in the waiting area). meets international standards.
On the 2nd floor there is a mother and child room: it provides passengers with small children with the necessary conditions for child care.

Registration area

30 check-in counters with a baggage supply and weighing system, 1 counter for passengers with oversized luggage, 2 customs clearance counters.
It is equipped with Web-kiosks that allow the passenger to register independently, which speeds up the registration process and prevents the formation of queues.
Equipped with all the necessary equipment and software that allows any airline to register passengers and baggage in the corresponding system of its company.
It has a number of advantages compared to terminal complex B:
- large area of the hall, the ability to carry out registration impersonally,
- taking into account the capabilities and area of the baggage sorting area, check-in is carried out not 2 hours before departure, but 4-5 hours.

Aviation security control zone

A significant feature is that, in addition to traditional procedures involving control of hand luggage using X-ray television installations, stationary and hand-held metal detectors, for the first time in Ukraine body scanners have been introduced, which allow a passenger to undergo inspection within 2-3 seconds without removing outer clothing.
All areas of the terminal are equipped with a modern video surveillance system (digital cameras provide video surveillance to ensure aviation security, and also monitor technological processes).

Controlled area

Meets all the requirements for a comfortable stay for passengers. Baggage sorting and control area
During the design, it was taken into account that this area should provide sufficiently comfortable conditions for personnel, including aviation security and customs personnel.
A special feature is that the air baggage security control system uses equipment and technologies that were first implemented in Ukraine:
- a three-level aviation security control system, which provides for automatic (at levels 1 and 2) control of baggage contents;
- the system is equipped with a program that allows up to 75% of baggage to be controlled automatically, which greatly reduces the influence of subjective factors - the load on the aviation security control operator is reduced, his functions are to carry out control in the corresponding area of the system using an additional X-ray television device, and if necessary, check the contents of the luggage in the presence of the passenger.

Arrivals area

The red and green corridor zones are clearly defined. In the baggage claim area there are 3 carousels, the dimensions of which allow the baggage claim of a passenger arriving at the airport to be issued in a shorter time.

station Square

The parking lot for 340 cars is equipped with a parking management system, which will streamline the provision of services for transporting passengers by taxis and buses. The system allows you to clearly control the provision of these services only by companies that have appropriate agreements with the airport.
